The Football Card Podcast #48: The Future of Football Card Culture Starts Here

hello and welcome to the football card podcast this is it you made it it is friday and you are listening to the fastest growing podcast in the entire world that's centered on football cards and most importantly football cards i'm your host john aka pac nicholson and with me as always is brett mister stacking slabs himself brett how are doing i'm well we've got you know right before we started recording had tree cutting truck just roll up right in front of my house so there's just some wood being destroyed through this mechanism there's a guy with a freaking chainsaw outside my house and so it's it's chaotic but i think we're gonna get the audio organized in a way that it sounds like you can't hear it and just more distracting to me but yeah man it's like i'm like it's memorial day week here in indianapolis it's the five hundred i know we're starting our engines but i don't need to be i don't know need those engines to be starting outside my house when i'm trying to record the football card podcast that's that's where i'm at right now well the audio sounds great but from a yeah distraction standpoint this is like when you know people are sitting courtside dressed crazy or something like that and you know how do you how do you keep your mind focused on the game amidst all these distractions like this is gonna this is gonna be a tough tough performance for you it will be we'll be we'll manage through i gotta like do you have any i it's hard to describe if you're not from here or around here but just the month of may in indianapolis and it taking over and the race the chaos that is the race everything in between do you have any race day plans john i'm actually going to be going to the race this year let's go for the first time since twenty thirteen twenty twelve twenty twelve yeah twenty eleven and twenty twelve i think is the last time i went i've i've been twice in my life in college this year though i'm going one of my good friends his good friend like does it they get a whole bus they have like the they have it dialed in they do the same thing every year with this big group on a bus but my friend's wife is very very pregnant so she's not going so i'm swooping in to be his plus one on this trip so coming out of indy five hundred retirement i will be there this weekend kinda nervous it's been a it's been a long time and the last time i went i was yeah in college so it it this will be a different experience this will be a a more elevated experience i'm not gonna be in the infield debaucherous infield doing bad things i'm gonna i'm i'm a grown man now you're a grown man until you get there and you see the snake pit rolling you see the pops getting going the chain was planned yeah the chain you see the most absurd stuff and i've been to a lot of sporting events across the country and nothing comes even close to topping the five hundred the the sea of humanity walking on georgetown into that monstrosity is a sight to behold so it is a special time in indianapolis and if you are going to the race everyone be safe hopefully put on your sunscreen you get the extra day to sleep in a little bit memorial day but yeah i will not be going i had quite the stretch it was like once we started having babies and it just became more complicated then they started televising it here locally and not blacking it out so i'll be in the friendly confines in the in the ac watching the coverage but there's nothing like getting out there you gotta get a turkey leg that's all i'm saying i didn't know that that's a thing turkey legs i'm a i think you gotta get it if you if you walk by and you see some smoked turkey go go buy a be a caveman for a little bit and chomp on a turkey leg you won't regret it that's like a thing that the track does or just people vendors d y o t's yeah you'll see the vendors out there you know it's like the race has everything it's got you've got the it's like a car it's like the biggest carnival of all time you just got carny shit happening you got people sleeping in the coke lot you've got you know absolute debauchery everywhere i celebrated my twenty first birthday in the coke lot i spent the night at midnight on race day morning i turned twenty one and it was i felt like a king you know because they had the pizza guys coming around and all my friends were buying me whole pizzas at domino's like i had a drink in my hand every moment of the day i just i felt like the mayor of the indianapolis motor speedway when i was twenty one it was awesome wow that's that's you wouldn't last a day in the asylum in which they raised me it's kinda that i was born in the darkness i turned twenty one at the in the coke lot of the indy five hundred yeah i guess you can do anything you can conquer anything you can you can so yeah shout out to everyone happy memorial day weekend mhmm yeah pools are opening pools are opening it is summertime although we've had some weather here it was hot not cold and rainy but i guess that's indianapolis for you hopefully we get through race day without any rain yeah that's all that's all i need i don't need any delays i can tolerate heat i can i can deal with all that just don't need extra three hours at the track is how i'm feeling it's already gonna be an event but yeah best of luck to you i i'll be thinking about you when i'm watching the race it'll be it's it's an effort but it's a lot of fun so you enjoy that i wonder how much it is to get a football card podcast logo on one of these cars like what's the cheapest cheapest offering the smallest you know pixel by pixel unit that we could get on one of these cars i bet we could pull it off i bet it's not crazy for something i'm talking small yeah i know it's so at a previous company that i worked for we sponsored andretti and it wasn't cheap i can tell you that much but it wasn't like a pick small it was like but it wasn't the biggest it was a pretty substantial but you get accent like the drivers would come to hq and sign autos and do all that and you get invited to their headquarters for their big party so there's a lot of benefits but i remember i mean these guys this is how they make their money i mean they and they make a ton of it so maybe if we can triple our audience so this is we're asking you the listener of the football card podcast if you could tell your damn friends that you're enjoying the pod and we can triple this audience by may of twenty twenty seven then we can maybe start talking to some of these racing teams because that would be that would be off the hook alright the ai overview is telling me fifty to a hundred k is the starting point for like a small little sticker on a wing wow can you imagine football card bought on the eighty on an eighty five hundred car just doesn't make sense not our audience at all but hey it'd be fun it'd be fun alright episode forty eight this is season four episode twelve season four finale we keep doing it they keep thinking the football card pod is gonna stop and won't prevail but here we are forty eight weeks straight and none of it is possible without our wonderful sponsors at cardladder shout out cardladder the official data provider of the football card podcast and the broader stacking slabs network shout out to card ladder i'm going to be recording an episode of card ladder confidential later this week it'll go out next week i know all of you enjoy those chats so do i so be on the lookout for that yeah and crossover back to back weeks coming back flooding flooding the market with content love it they they they they have tightened it up a little bit i mean no longer are the days where they're sitting there for three and a half hours answering silly hobby questions so we have evolved into a very tight timeline which i can appreciate it so enjoying the crossovers being back in my feed yeah the three hour crossover days that was that was my travel soundtrack always it was like oh this flight it's just one episode of the card ladder or of the crossover it's easy alright i think you had an opening topic that we should discuss before we jump into numbers yes so opening topic before we jump into numbers was we have we've gotten questions we've talked about the the rookie photo shoot and we have seen the next turn of the rookie photo shoot and it's not being branded as the rookie photo shoot it is the nfl pa rookie premier event hosted by fanatics and it happened this past week you gotta see guys in their you know get up in uniforms and you gotta imagine there's photos for cards that are gonna be there and gives fanatics the opportunity to you know probably get some autos and do all those things but i think the thing that really stood out for to me is when i'm just flipping through the feed and i see my good friend ryan at card collector too sitting there you know having talking to caleb downs and fernando mendoza about football cards and i'm like this is this is the next turn here we've got a a big time presence in the hobby and ryan talking to these rookies that are you know top ten rookies number one draft pick overall and not only talking to them but they're in their full attire which is hilarious in and of itself but then we're talking about football cards and so this just got me thinking i'm like what like what does the future of the hobby content with rookies mean for football cards if this is this is the the foray we're just getting going on this but what do you think a motion like this means for the future of football cards i think it's just gonna lead to more and more not only like pre release pre like pro content but we'll get more cards out of this i guarantee that manufacturers were will find ways to keep making like kind of cards that are based off of memorabilia from this event and from other events even like we saw when they got drafted that they signed a card right when they got drafted in like the tops now of it all where instead of like the first access you get to an athlete being their first release in a card it's gonna be like there are gonna be so many things that come out of these players before there's ever a pack pulled rookie card of them available like already i bet there's fernando mendoza raiders stuff i could buy but is that is like true rookie what's a true rookie is that whole concept kind of you know going away where it's not all about what the first i mean it already kind of has where it's like the first product release of a player in a pro uniform doesn't necessarily become their most chased or desired rookie because i feel like you have sets like don russ and stuff that were coming out before a prism comes out or before a national treasures comes out so just the concept itself of what is a player's like true rookie card is gonna continue to just be an interesting thing to watch with how much of like this type of like is fernando mendoza's true rookie card the one that he signed on the stage is it the one that was pack pulled in the biggest set is it the one from the rookie premier shoot you know i think we're gonna just keep getting more it's gonna be more everything adam driver in star wars more everything for all this stuff so i like that i agree i think my mind goes to what maybe we've seen on the baseball side and it seems that through the coverage we have seen these baseball prospects being more of the collector archetype where they are chasing their first bowman super fractures i mean there's been countless videos of like the which i'll i will never understand the i've got a hot prospects card and that hot prospect wants the card and i just get to go on the field and like get a ball and like like a signed bat and maybe some cleats and you just like fork over the the the super fracker like i'm you'll you'll never find me there's no experience enough that would cause me to just cough up the card be i've seen that on baseball in a lot and so it has always led me to believe like these baseball players like have been a part of the culture maybe longer than football players but when you're bringing in you know mendoza and having you know these kinds of conversations it's the number one draft pick it's like what sort of influence does the manufacturer and the content creator have on that football player and maybe not to go to ebay and go buy a bunch of cards but just like naturally like opportunities with cards are going to enter these players throughout the history of their career so like does this moment that like a fernando mendoza had with ryan johnson like get him to he means sign the card he's at the premier he's having a conversation with ryan like does does it cause players to like think differently about football cards and either wanna be a collector or want to maybe be more involved in the future releases like that is kind of where my head goes right now and so i'm i'm interested to see kinda what happens on the other side of this if this way we go to market continues yeah i think it could lead to i think it's good for it's good for the hobby if the athletes are informed on how the hobby works and what collectors look for and things like that where maybe now that fernando mendoza ripped some packs and saw like what ryan is calling out as a case hit or what's exciting and seeing autographs and doing more autographs where that encourages a fernando mendoza or other athletes to have more fun with inscriptions or take a little more time on the autograph instead of just the like scribbles on a sticker like just having a little more care into the product because they understand what a collector would want to be chasing and that encourages them to have some fun with it instead of it just feeling like something that they have to do and they're just kinda knocking out as many autographs as possible so maybe there's interesting things that could happen on assigning inscription front and yeah i don't know i i don't i think it's a it's crazy to see how much athletes though are getting into the hobby i feel like baseball especially you're seeing more or at least i'm seeing more and more videos of guys in the clubhouse like ripping boxes it's a lot of pokemon not necessarily always sports stuff but cards are entering you know the mainstream more and more every single day i mean i think about you know just here locally andy and the indy card exchange team i mean they have really started to bring in braden smith to to do autographs do cards tj and megan mcconnell they've done ben shepherd like george hill who just george hill in there yeah but but so like you're seeing that locally you're seeing it nationally and i just i'm telling you like you can say whatever you want to about like your feelings about topps fanatics and what they're doing but i can tell you that this movement and this approach like getting to know these players getting them to talk about cards is a lot better or a lot more effective or will be a lot more effective long term than you know the the like one reel that panini would put up that they were at this event and these players were signing autographs like you heard nothing from them they were just like they put up a reel and it was like it was done so i'm a fan of this approach i think it is better for the long term health of this industry does will it mean all of our cards go up overnight no but i just think like this natural intersection between athlete and collector and storytelling is is a really good thing and i'm i'm i'm fired up to see that because i was uncertain if we were gonna get anything on the rookie premier front yeah the the documentation of it all panini or fanatics and tops are they're crushing that i think to your point the peen panini era i remember all you would ever maybe see is when a player would post on their story like a box of cards from panini that they were supposed to sign you're like woah this is a crazy behind the scenes peek at all these unsigned products and now we're just i believe just seeing more footage of players engaged in this signing that was so cool to see the rbi crew randy orton story where like oh there is footage of randy signing this one of one card and then he gets like ryan buying it is awesome but just the fact that the footage existed of orton signing this monumental one of one card is sick like that's so cool that that's there one hundred percent you mentioned the inscriptions and i've i've talked about just how i'm not a big auto guy but man i can appreciate inscriptions based on the rarity and scarcity and you know it shows you're you're seeing this a lot on the wrestling side and i've you just start to see personality you there's catchphrases there's sound bites and there's inside jokes and you're seeing these wrestlers put them on cards and it's like man there it it makes them way more attractive because it's a it it's rare it's scarce so i'm real i am excited about that element where you have at the manufacturer has access to these athletes and they can not tell them what to put maybe but maybe direct traffic and say you know the first parallel of every orange refractor typically someone puts an inscription like you know go cook if you want to on that card and so i just think that's good for collectibles in general so i'm i'm excited about the future of inscriptions oh yeah alright numbers forty eight should we get into it let's do it alright so this is an interesting development that is currently underway with forty eight because what i use to start like the starting point for the number segment of the show is the pro football hall of fame has an official website and on their official website they have a tab hall of famers by jersey number so that's always my starting point i'm not not googling and trusting ai i go straight to the source i go to the hall of fame to get the facts and for forty eight there's one name under forty eight in the hall of fame on the official website and it's mel richter i'm like alright who's mel richter so i google mel richter and there's nothing like i can't find this guy this guy doesn't exist there's a the top result is mel richter fine art photography i'm like i don't think this is the football hall of famer taking breathtaking american scenic landscapes but i you know i i didn't know so i i'm digging more i'm digging more and i find this guy les richter or his full name leslie richter who wore number forty eight for the rams is in the hall of fame like so surely why was his nickname mel why is he listed as mel richter on the official pro football hall of fame website i haven't figured out that answer but i have figured out that number forty seven right above mel richter and we talked about him last episode is mel blount so i don't know if there's a little copy paste error something happened but the pro football pretty sure the pro football hall of fame website has les richter's name wrong under the forty eight section so i filed a little ticket with the pro football hall there i just did a like a contact us i filled out the form i said hey just wanted you to know while researching for the fastest growing football card podcast in the world i discovered this little possible error just wanted you to be aware so it's still i haven't heard back it hasn't been corrected but i would be pumped if that gets changed and it we are able to claim that we helped with a little stat correction on the pro football hall of fame website maybe we get a little annotation on there maybe they link out to us i feel like the richters are the type of family and i'll just put this card up the fifty eight tops les richter wearing the forty eight yes i i feel like the richters just looking at this photo are the type of family if they caught wind of it we might get some omaha steaks shipped to us for like christmas as a thank you yeah we gotta figure this out for old les richter so that's on the list les richter who and we'll just talk about him played for the rams in inducted into the pro football hall of fame in two thousand and eleven but he played in the fifties it took him fifty years to make he retired in sixty one i'm sorry sixty two made it into the hall in two thousand eleven but he died in twenty ten which that's just a that's a bummer that he waited you wait till he died to put him in fifty years later feel like it's like a pete rose situation where rose is gonna get in eventually it's like damn it you did it when he couldn't see it so shout out les he was a linebacker four time first team all pro four consecutive years from fifty five to fifty eight three time second team all pro eight time pro bowler basically his whole career was a pro bowler all american in college he yeah this was kind of a a beast for the rams there for a few years and finally made it into the hall so shout out to les richter shout out les richter that was a great history lesson there hopefully that gets changed my selection is just very nostalgic being a kid watching football and i'm selecting darryl moose johnson cowboys legend nineteen eighty nine to nineteen ninety nine he rocked the horseshoe in the best era to be a cowboys fan i would say he's a three time super bowl champion and i did not recall this or i did not know this ever so i wanted to figure out how did how did daryl get the moose nickname so as a rookie he received his nickname moose from backup quarterback babe laffenburg because of his large stature compared to the rest of the running backs the name caught on among dallas fans who would chant moose whenever he made the play he had he as in daryl twenty two career touchdowns he had more receptions than carries how about that stat that's crazy but yeah i mean you think he's one of those guys when you think about those cowboys super bowl teams you know there's obviously aikman and smith and irvin and yeah there's just the daryl johnson's not the first to come to your mind but if you kinda take a couple subs back he was definitely a big part in that run and i thought about it was like man i've never seen any daryl johnston cards and so i just looked it up and i didn't even realize this but the the man has a ninety seven medal in the first pmg green which i've never seen a red i've never seen this card in it is like a net that he or like a chain link fence that he is busting through that's it yeah so this card is just absolutely incredible it's sold let's see here it's sold for four thousand nine hundred and twenty dollars it is this is a pop two in november of twenty twenty five but there there really hasn't been a ton of these sales so the last sale before that let me see here dates sold alright i've got my filtering all messed up but yeah there it's it's jumped up quite a bit in twenty two it's sold for like twenty one hundred dollars but yeah it's just a card that doesn't pop up too often and he's just a killer so fun to be able to highlight darryl moose johnson on this podcast today that's a great one a couple others to shout out because forty eight was thin so i was doing some digging wes hopkins who was a defensive back for the philadelphia eagles from eighty three to ninety three just for two reasons because we love nicknames here on the football card pod his nickname was wild west which is just perfect and awesome and then he was part of the philly defense that had the nickname gangrene so just being wild west as part of the gangrene defense like just doubling up on the nicknames that's pretty badass so shout out wes hopkins and then steven davis steven davis was a beast at running back started with the washington redskins went to the carolina panthers he it listen to this run that steven davis put on so in ninety nine he ran for fourteen hundred and five yards and seventeen touchdowns in fourteen games so he averaged over a hundred yards a game second team all pro then he had thirteen hundred yards eleven touchdowns then he had fourteen hundred yards five touchdowns was injured a little in two thousand two but then in two thousand three he goes to carolina and has fourteen hundred one thousand four hundred and forty four yards eight touchdowns helping the panthers make it to that super bowl that they lost to the patriots but in those playoffs he had another three hundred yards so he had four seasons over thirteen hundred rushing yards which is pretty impressive and ended his career eight thousand fifty two rushing yards overall so shout out steven davis legendary forty eight this football card podcast is slowly becoming we i think we could have a spin off podcast of just washington running backs i mean my god we've we've talked clinton portis alfred morris liddell betts and now steven davis all in like the last month those have been central forces so terri man that's good good shout out washington running backs just in the high forties yeah that's great callout something else i was thinking about when i was looking at steven davis' stats and kind of helping with my take of if you take away saquon barkley's two thousand yard season he only has one season over thirteen hundred yards whereas steven davis has put together four which is kinda crazy you know i know that two thousand yard season by saquon was amazing in the super bowl but just kinda puts it into perspective steven davis was out here putting together steady rushing seasons in his career do you think anyone out there has a six steven davis pc so i used to have steven davis' two thousand five finest gold extractor that i sold to i wanna say it's compton cards yeah because he collects auburn plans aaron yes that would make sense and steven davis was in auburn is an auburn alum and and rudy johnson yeah i sold him i had a steven davis and a rudy johnson i sold him both of those so i don't know if anyone's pc ing steven davis necessarily but there are davis collectors yeah i'm looking through compton's feed he has oh this is awesome he's got his ninety seven rubies he's got his ninety eight pmg he's got his two thousand fleer showcase masterpiece one of one steven davis his card's sick do you think at auburn like in that era it's like if you're a running back i'm thinking of like you know all the guys cadillac and ronnie brown and steven are they just showing them bo jackson footage day one and being like this is what we're striving for is that like how the program works it's gotta be auburn yeah auburn they got some bags man yeah cadillac cadillac was so good speaking by the way speaking of compton's cards he just posted a i'm just remembering this he just posted a nasty i'm looking it up in real time where did i see this i i swear he posted a cadillac somewhere do i have that right i'm not seeing it on his feed i like it was like a cadillac super fracture i saw somewhere maybe it wasn't him oh oh here it is i actually so this is look at this yeah that's unreal oh i think that story post with that and the ronnie brown yeah i mean come on now like two thousand six tops chrome which i put number two on my list when we were doing that look at the super fractures from this year they they've got this in the team in the team name at the top it's super fractured out this is this is one of the best super fractures of all time two thousand seven maybe quote for in this circumstance yes looks awesome with the red i to me the red bothers me when it does like the red it's got a color match with the bucks too well no i'm saying here it looks great because of the color match but when the red is in contrast to the jersey t numb or like the team jersey color i don't wanna an o six you're not an o six finest super fracture guy i mean i would take one i would i bet priest holmes still has one in o six i would love that card i'm sure there's a bears player i'd love to have but i don't know it's not there's i don't like when like a set leans too hard on a specific color because of reasons like this when the i feel like tops chrome was doing that in basketball in like two thousand in two thousand one where they're like refractors have like a big blue border like all all the refractors have blue borders it's just weird like why why are you committing so hard to one color when there's a whole palette out there that it's gonna conflict with i i could understand that i just wanna because this card is okay so we're gonna show both of them shout out compton's cards here so here's the cadillac and dude i just object comp the composition of this card is you've got nfc down here you've got the position you've got carnell cadillac in quotes it's perfect buccaneers super fractured out amazing photo like so i just wanna like i understand what you're saying and so there's the cadillac but then look at the ronnie brown here that's awesome i mean look this is two thousand nine see but imagine that with a red border it would look crazy it looks great with the full gold bleed it does look very man shout out to auburn running backs we got here because of steven davis let's go it's what happens here on the football card pod just down a down a chain alright episode forty eight let's get into some questions from drake's pc game worn nfl shields are considered by many to be the best patch cards in football but in some cases there are other patches where you can narrow down the specific game or games they were worn in for example a full captain patch with one colored star could be narrowed down to the player's first year as captain on the team and may be able to be narrowed down even further to a home or away jersey when it comes to patch cards like this in your opinion and values aside would you rather have a shield where it's unknown which game it was worn in or another type of patch where you can narrow it down to the exact game i mean i think this like this this is a very obvious answer like the more information the better like if we can associate it to a specific or narrow it down like i would much rather have that i will say taking it one step further the calling of calling out on the back of the card for exactly the moment or the game which i think about leaf like certified materials them doing that like that is the ultimate in the new wwe royalty product they don't have them for all but like they have like a john cena card with a towel patch and autograph and on the back of the card it says like this is from the netflix debut the debut on of raw on netflix and it like gives a date and it's just like normally like i'm not sure i would be terribly interested in that card if it was just but like to know that i can go back and look at it and know exactly when it's from of course like that's more attractive so i think our chances of getting the specificity when it comes to these patches and dates goes up under the fanatics tops umbrella as opposed to what what we had with panini based on just the way they have their arms wrapped around everything so i i'm i'm very opt like i'm very optimistic on the the future facing look of this becoming more of a reality it hasn't been much of a thing in the past outside of sleuth work but i think the obvious answer is like yes of course we'd love more information and know exactly where it where it comes from yeah totally agree totally think we're gonna see more and more of it i saw that they did a tops now for that wemb game one western conference finals where they had like a patch in the basketball net like one of the diamonds in the net is like filled in with some sort of information and that's getting put into a card in a one of one as part of a tops now release so they're fanatics being so involved on the jersey front and then manufacturing we're gonna see hopefully more and more of this where yeah we can get specific info because i was then trying to think about it like a tangible example of the situation drake put out here where like would i rather have a caleb williams shield but i don't know what it's from or like a sick patch that's from the packers playoff game it's like i'd rather have the sick patch from this all time iconic game versus the random unknown shield even though it's a shield because then i was even thinking about it shield i i've never like loved the look of shield cards from nfl and i was trying to think why and i just think the we i love an equipment shield we've talked about equipment shields before and even so far to getting it tatted on your chest but i think like nba logo man just looks so much better than the nfl shield like the nba logo man's like a significant piece of the card it's like a big window it's much more colorful it's all stitched and then i feel like i was looking through just highest selling nfl shields and there a lot of them are like not from any associated thing and they're like i don't like the rubber look on some of them and then when you get back into the game worn shields in the early two thousands feel like the the patch box is so small like because the shield is so small so it's like it just doesn't feel as like i don't know big as the like a logo man like these these early two thousand shields is just like oh it's the same size as a normal jersey swatch window it doesn't really feel any different this is one of those threads that my observations of the football card community and the hobby just saying that the shields are the top dog and these are the cards you should go after and this is why and every time i look at them and i just say no thanks like it just the the the the price for these and the aesthetic and the way it comes off is just there's a too large of a disconnect i will never collect these ever and it's not because i think they're bad or whatever but they're too expensive and i just think there are a lot of other cool cards so that's like my personal like feeling on the shields i just especially the rubber ones they look terrible like it's the the the equipment shields with the threading yeah it's cooler but it's just not my cup of tea yeah i and i'm not a patch guy but i'd rather have like a sick team logo yes that like the color like i i'm a simple a simple man simple brain like more color is better like more stitches better and like the shield is just kinda plain and just says nfl like the logo man like looks like something even the mlb logo like it has that same thread the nfl shield is just kinda like whatever i don't know it just yeah it's like dude it's one of these days and i'm offending everyone who stopped filing shields here so apologies in advance but it it felt like i woke up one day and all of a sudden we were on shields and this these were the cards and i was like what like okay it's like this is what we wanna be doing and so i don't know just not my cup of tea i i i probably should stop there so i don't get hate mail yeah and hey we just we're just a couple guys we don't know anything we're just spewing our opinions but i was just looking through highest selling shields of all time and if we're ever gonna crack a million dollars again for a football sale it's gonna have to be a shield because the top three shields are the mahomes four point three million in twenty twenty one herbert one point eight million in twenty twenty two burrow one point seven million in twenty twenty two and then you've got the same herbert again for five hundred and fifty thousand in oh so that was twenty twenty one and then it sold wow someone bought that herbert for five hundred fifty thousand in august of twenty twenty one sold it a year later for one point eight million that's a nice little that's pretty little come up that's not bad alright oh yeah would you rather have an andrew luck shield from the preseason game he retired or a patch from the chiefs playoff comeback the give give me a napkin patch from the the chiefs game yeah you take that shield and flush it down the toilet alright next up how are your cards organized in your boxes by brand by player chronologically this question's from me i just i'm always thinking about the organization of cards and especially i guess my main question here i'm curious how they're organized but then how do you navigate when categories collide like when the end of one section goes into another section is there ever consideration on like what the last card is in section one flowing into the start of new section two is that a thought that ever crosses your mind or is it just like they're very independent things that don't blend together this is such a good topic oh i love this because first of all i'll i'll we'll get there i wanna first describe when i read this i immediately thought of rob gordon from high high fidelity one of my favorite movies ever john cusack and there there's the scene where he's he's organizing his record collection he's got all of his vinyl on the floor and his two two guys from his shop jack black and the other guy and their character names are escaping me right now come in and they're just like what are you doing they're like he's like reorganizing my records and they're like just scanning it and they're like trying to figure out like what his theme is and they're like by name by and they're like genre and then he's like nope nope and then he's like they're like well what then and he's like autobiographical and he's like if i wanna remember and he like goes into this thing he's like i need to know that i picked it up in the summer of nineteen seventy seven and so i love that scene because it just shows like as a collector of anything like we have our own rules on how we wanna organize our stuff and so i take this part of my job as a collector very seriously and i've never talked about it so you're bringing this topic to life and i think it's a good one so i'm a maniac when it comes to this i the my rules of engagement when it comes to collection organization are i have brand i have gear and those are the and i have parallel so i've got like for my prism collection i've got all my gold prism organized by the the the year and they're all golds all the way through and same with gold vinyl same with black finance so that's that's how those are organized now i ran out of i used to be able to have it all in one case and i ran out of room so now i have my one of ones out of prism in a separate case but it's all the way off to the side and it's i try to like keep as much distance as possible from the other stuff because i i i i don't want them intermixing i i i'm trying to segregate i do not want my prism one of ones anywhere close to my tyrese halliburton stuff because it's just just not how i do business but then you know i got my wrestling collection and that's more of a just the category alignment and i there's there's really no outside of you know i've got like my john cena cards together it it just varies by the thing and it's it's fluid though because i just i i tend to just make these decisions every time i spend time with my collection and so that's how i feel organized and some people would be like wait a minute you don't have like all of your andrew luck cards together all in an andrew luck pc and my my answer is absolutely not and the thought of that and the disconnect with the broader collection makes me wanna puke and it would actually makes me feel like i don't have my hands around what i'm actually building so the integration of the players in the years like that is where i keep peace so that's that's how i'm doing it man so in the what else is in the wrestling box just wrestling no i've got in the wrestling box i've got my halliburton collection i've got some caitlin clark cards i've got ancillary colts cards okay so when like a halliburton collection goes up next to a caitlin clark collection do you try and make those flow together yeah the the those are actually right next to each other yeah because you know it's they're sitting on court side yeah they're they're buddies and they're my favorite players on my two favorite basketball teams in my city so there's some it's just it's there's some relatability with those cards but yeah that's yeah that's that's how i'm doing it man how are you doing it i've got like a a zion with three rows and it's pretty clear like one row is just twenty thirteen select basketball and that's just all in a in an order but even that order is funny of like do you order it by number or is it ordered into like the my favorite cards like how do i order them and then another row is kind of and this is where i run into that my dilemma because i'll have like my fantasy running backs i've got like priest holmes sean alexander levyon bijan and when i'm like trying to make those flow together there's just a lot of consideration on like okay how does the lavion run trans like transfer into bijan like what is the best lavion card to end on to then get me into bijan because it's i don't always put stuff those in chronological order because then i get into situations where and this is just the ocd like graded and non graded stuff i like when stuff in a one touch starts a section and then you get to the graded cards i don't like going from like one touch graded card one touch graded card one so like cards that are in one touches will come first they will always lead a section but then that that leads to stuff getting out of order chronologically and then there's situations where i like there to be like a payoff at the end and not necessarily and sometimes that first card is the payoff like twenty twelve prism for example it's like leading off with the cream of the crop and then it and then you're just going downhill from there i kinda i like the idea of building up towards the twenty twelve reveal so i've gone there's no there's no right answer and it it's always changing but sometimes i feel like trying to have like the last card be the most impactful is like a goal but then it it that changes everything it changes the whole layout yeah i like that i've never thought about that i will say on the you brought up a good subtopic of this which would be the graded and non graded i my my in my mind my eventual end state of each of my cards is it being put in a slab like that's my mindset so my raw cards whether they're in one touches or they're in top loaders they are off on its own and and i i actually have a i i buy raw cards probably at a four to one ratio maybe five to one ratio of graded cards it's just typically how i'm looking at my buying so right now i've got maybe sixty raw cards maybe seventy that need to be graded but i'll tell you like that's a subgenre of my collection even though it's part of everything else i don't intermingle those but i do have a lot of fun just like pulling out the top loaders and just be like man i bought this card like three months ago and i just because it's not in its eventual end stated i have not spent maybe enough time with it and i'm just like man this is a good purchase so it's like i have like these motivational conversations with myself on reason pickups that are in this like in between state but yeah yeah it's like they got they're the prospects they're yeah drafted by the organization they're not yet on the team but they're you're you're pumped about them you're they're yes they're hitting three ninety two in the minors right now you're like alright you're gonna you got a future ahead of you that's that's exactly right but yeah dude by the way i'll tell you this and this is like off topic but similar i had two consignment boxes go out this week oh one was to cover a consolidation effort with or with my friend nick at the warf sports cards and then the other one was i just wanna i just it's time to sell some stuff and i sent the one box to dc sports and i sent it last week i express everything i pay the sixty bucks i want it there quick dude i had like i didn't like talk about this with anyone i was having a panic attack because my my box was sitting at like the indianapolis facility distribution facility on an express for like four days and i was like you gotta be kidding me and like you would have thought like somebody gifted me a andrew luck black finite i didn't have when i saw that that son of a bitch moved on to the next stage i was like and i just feel like this is why i don't look at the look at the tracker like if you look at the tracker you're you're bound to get hurt the best is just to like assume it got there and then like maybe a week or so later check it and that it's peace of mind because i was living in mid like worst case scenario for like two and a half days and it was not fun there's stuff going on with indy too stuff gets stuck in a loop it's been happening i feel like for a year since they because they opened some like a new facility and they're still working out the kinks where stuff will like get into indianapolis i'm waiting on a card right now and i like checked the tracker on saturday and said it was gonna get here monday and i looked on monday and it's like yeah arrived at indianapolis sorting and then today it's at like a new indianapolis sorting i'm like what are you what are you sorting the the card is for me get it to me simple i asked the when i dropped off the second package at usps i brought my ticket and i was like can you look into this for me and she she looked at it and she's like i probably can't see much i'll go talk to my manager who obviously couldn't see much either but this is what she said to me she's like distribution center on the express that shouldn't be there it's like oh this is this is this is how you're making me calm down right now i'm just like good lord so yeah ignorance is on buddy yeah ignorance is bliss just trust that it eventually gets there it's like my new mo yes trust the process yeah but all that stemmed because i have a then i have a section that's like non prism bear stuff and i have that in chronological order but where i have it in chronological order it puts my i have a jay cutler o nine superfractor that's just like in the middle and i'm like this card shouldn't be in the middle this card needs to be the payoff at the end but then it's all out of it's not chronological then there's no order in there it just feels sloppy so i don't know i'm still still trying to figure out how to best handle that that little section of the pc but yeah if it were easy it wouldn't be fun yes correct maybe that'll be a card call out one of these days show us your boxes and i wanna see like how they're like section them off like draw on there like alright this section is this this section is this it's i'm trying to see how other people handle these dilemmas next question from boltcardcrew where do you place upper deck on the chart for best football card brands my response is not very high when i think of upper deck my in my brain just think of upper deck immediately goes to basketball with jordan and lebron i think about baseball with griffey i about hockey because of its current license i think of golf because of tiger woods and then maybe after that i think about football and i'd not to hear to disparage like upper deck and what they produce i think you know a lot there's a lot of collectors that are fans of ultimate collection and which is a nice product but i just it's their upper deck and football cards just i i know there are people out there that are pushing the like these aren't discovered yet people aren't even thinking about them but i don't know to me there's always kind of a reason for that and i just i think upper deck just represents other sports way more than it rep will represent football to me always yeah agreed there i just there are some cool sets but not for me i feel like upper deck has more of the like patch and auto cards that i don't really collect i do have a decent amount of ultimate collection like priest homes patches like anytime i see a three color priest homes ultimate collection patch i for like twenty bucks i'll buy it so i think those are fun but yeah it is not at all a big part of my collection so that's really all i can as much as i can speak on it alright final question from chargers pc sports cards topps chrome is old news what did they do right what did they do wrong changes question mark i think it's too early to call it and then it got me thinking even more how this is like set releases are like an album right and it's too early for the album review i mean some places have to do it i understand you need the the clicks the reads the views whatever it is but time needs to pass to properly grade it but overall i like it so far i think there's some good tracks on there but i i can't sit here and be like it's better than this set or that set like it just it's too early i think they'll as time passes it'll become more clear how great the set might be when are we gonna talk about your chrome curiosity and what you're up to i'm still dabbling i'm still trying to figure and now finest is out and i kinda like to look at these finest cards with the like retro what is it like discovery zone neon nineties colors with like the i don't know i think and then topscrum curiosities is it's still i'm just dabbling you know different cards here and there but i'm having fun are you still chrome chrome adverse chrome curious where are you on the chrome i've been dipping my toes dipping my toes a little bit you know you might have had some your your consistent look at these and check these out might have helped influence me a little bit but i will just say this i've made some buys and the buys that i've made have been very economical and i feel very good about them that's my position right now so yeah i would say in terms of the this question i think i can say the launch has been successful very successful launch from getting football cards out there and get people excited about it i'm kinda with you we gotta we gotta let it breathe for a little bit there is a card that i'll highlight later in the market watch section that will i don't wanna spend time on it now but i think is a good opportunity to talk about maybe something that i think they did right in this in this release but yeah i i let's wait a little bit let's see let's see how it's i will say this it has not been bad i think it has been been pretty solid but it's still very very early yep alright thank you for questions everybody let's move into the nfl check-in not not a lot here but schedules are out my main takeaway there bears packers on christmas day is just diabolical guess like that i think i do because i i think it would be great if i were a packers or bears fan i'm i'm i'm so pumped to watch that game on it's just the packers games last year they played three times in like a two month five week span it was so stressful like and i'm just so stressed out leading up to the games the game day itself is it's more it's an elevated game versus like anything else like i'm it just it's heightened in every way and for it to now be on christmas day it's just it's either gonna be the best christmas ever or absolutely ruin my christmas so that's pretty that's pretty much how it's gonna go you you better play the role of santa claus very well and make sure that your daughter has the best first part of the christmas ever and so then you can you hopefully the game is in the evening is what i'll say i'm pretty sure it's oh is it oh god it's the first game it's at like one it's at one pm oh man that that really changes the complexion of the if it was the end of the day i could have that that's what i'm saying yeah yeah it's one pm like there's a there's a world where it's four pm and supposed to be the happiest day of my young daughter's life and dad is just pissed off or or dad's ready for christmas part two and like let's go yeah take do it yeah you could have the ultimate payoff yeah and that one's in chicago so i feel good about that i think it it'll be december that's that is gonna be awesome and then just two other games two other primetime games at seattle and at buffalo are just like alright bears you think you're a contender go prove it go to the super bowl champs in prime time go to buffalo in the new stadium in prime time dj moore revenge game potentially that it's a it's a the schedule's it's crazy but i'm excited i cannot wait for football season yeah i'm with you i was i was kind of taken aback when the colts released their schedule which simpsons oh i love that great release video great release yeah they i you know i was looking at all the rankings they were in the top four on most people's lists of the videos so i was proud of that from the from the from the organization putting out some quality after the minecraft licensing debacle last year and the colts also poked fun at themselves in the video which is i feel like that's good good way to operate you know i'll just we're this is this is the start of the season john we've got the ravens at home home opener against lamar which that's when i wanna play that game i wanna play the ravens at home right away i just feel like new coach it's just a good time ravens are tough obviously but that's then we turn this son of a bitch around and we're on sunday night football against patrick mahomes and arrowhead so we got lamar mahomes then we got the texans defense at home then we're going to london to play jaden and the commanders and then there's no buy we're not taking a buy we're going to pittsburgh after that so we'll see what this team is made of pretty quickly because that isn't a very easy start to the year but what is easy we don't know what these teams are i think this is what i'm taking i'm saying okay well we're getting the the the ravens with the new coach early we're getting mahomes post injury early so those are that's what i'm leaning on right now and i we we owe the chiefs one i mean that we fumbled it over there last year so i'm i'm hoping we just need we need a split ravens chiefs we just need a split give give me one of those but yeah i i'm excited i'm ready it's gonna not gonna be an easy start but i'm ready for it to happen wow that i saw you had listed those games and i thought you were just listing like standout games i'm like thank you it's like oh that's the gauntlet to start that's that's brew is there is danny dimes playing this year is he recovering danny dimes is all all the all all reports i mean he was jim neighbors broke that he was walking around at the masters like up on the hills and stuff just walking normally so dan walking uphill that's a great report yeah dude it was so random he's like just so you know i'm watching daniel jones colts quarterback walking around this thing i was like thanks jim nabors that's awesome but yeah apparently he'll be back hopefully so we need him bad so riley leonard's awesome although here's a riley leonard update shout out michael rountree thirteen cards sent me a pick of a psa ten riley leonard gold vinyl out of prism from the dallas card show and i was like oh thanks buddy it's probably gonna be too much for my blood even though i love him he's like yeah the the apparently once i'll take a raw copy sold for three k and he's like yeah the the seller i think this is a pop one the seller is looking for about six k for this and i just like thanks thanks for letting me know but yeah i'll i'll wait on that one yeah wow riley leonard the you'll be able to pick that up in a couple years at a yep although the anthony richardson rookie of it all there's been no i've there's been no no one's giving no no one's the listed prices are still the listed price no one's no one's bending at all on those yeah there'll be a a bump when you sign somewhere else exactly huge push about how ar in a new situation it's all gonna change yep i remember there was a bump when trubisky went to the bill or the steelers like because i was just trying to get some i still need a twenty seventeen gold prism trubisky rookie card just for the for the archive and they're still like anytime they'd popped up they're just asking crazy prices because he's still an active quarterback in the nfl and you never know so just gotta keep waiting yeah alright oh and super bowl nashville in a couple years yeah it that's a good good super bowl city should be fun i i'm glad they'll they'll have their new stadium by then because their current stadium is maybe the most it is the most unimpressive football stadium i've ever been in in my life and i know that might sound like i'm throwing shade because i'm a colts fan but yeah there might be some of that but it's they they need a new stadium very very bad alright market watch from card ladder should we talk some sales let's do it alright we are starting on the defensive side of the ball we're gonna roll into a nineteen ninety nine metal universe precious metal gems of zach thomas out of fifty bgs nine pop one none higher this card sold for fourteen hundred dollars only four total public sales of this card ever when i saw this card i just thought madden man he was one of the best linebackers of this era and i just don't think there's been enough love by us talking about zach taylor and i do know we've got his or sorry zach thomas they had jason taylor at the same time yeah i was doing the mashup zach thomas but maybe we do have his episode fifty four coming up so maybe we'll cover him a little bit but i love this card love the image you see the starter logo on the side of his shoulder pads but yeah really cool card yeah the zach thomas ricky williams running back linebacker challenge in the o three madden mini games didn't get better than the dolphins dolphins were a top team for that challenge and yeah i just zach thomas was the what is it a f afc south version of brian urlacher the nfc north just fifty four white middle linebacker all pro just at at in the same era too the zach thomas urlacher ray lewis era of these mhmm dominant middle linebackers zach thomas five time first team all pro i did not realize he had that many first team all pros thirteen year career twelve with the dolphins one year in dallas i don't remember that oh yeah okay shout out zach thomas this card's like that that defense was good with taylor and sam madison i mean they had some guys on that team yeah yeah this card rules we're sticking on the defensive side of the ball we're going with a twenty twenty five micah parsons prism black finite selling for three thousand five hundred i looked at this two years ago you could have gotten a twenty twenty three black finite parsons for a thousand dollars so that just tells you like where this market is going and i just think it's like let's take a moment like talking about taylor talking about parsons talking about these cards like it wasn't long ago where none of these cards even sniffed a thousand dollars if you're on the defensive side of the ball and so i just think like we're evolving as a community of football collectors where people are like like that's silly like these are the best players in football why wouldn't i spend this kind of money on their cards and it's fun to see because we've talked about this enough like underlying theme of football card podcast we both love collecting defensive players yeah and this seems very high though in my or not very high just there was a cleo mac of this sitting on ebay for like three k obo for a long time i think it recently ended and i'm looking on card letter it sold for two k last month so someone must have bought it relisted it on ebay but i don't know just the micah parsons khalil like that's pretty good comp those are pretty good parsons he's got the potential though still you know what i mean like mac is pretty like mac hall of famer like he'll like he's he's older i just feel like there's still that element of like michael parsons sells a lot of left in his tank so people are willing to spend more that's kind of my read on that i agree but i think if you look okay michael parsons first five years three time first team all pro a defensive rookie of the year khalil max first five years in the league three time first team all pro defensive player of the year yeah max first years with the raiders like how big he was and then it's just the the journeyman of it all and parsons coming off an injury i just think like at a ceiling i don't know i think michael parsons ceiling is still like khalil mack i don't know if he's gonna be i think you're i think you're right i think you're right i'm i'm not arguing that i'm just the the mindset of and i don't know we don't know who bought this but i'm just i i just it feels like because he's still so young yes that's why he costs so much more for sure for sure but yeah that's a pretty cool core i'm surprised he's not in packers on this one i feel like by twenty i in other twenty twenty five sets if like in twenty twenty five optic i know for a fact parsons is on the packers so just missed the prism train they yeah it's like know my biggest contention with the new prism although it's grown on me it's like they decided to put anthony richardson in there for the third time and not put daniel jones in it it's like okay but that's neither here nor there the and here's the twenty three which one do you like better you like the twenty five lined up or you like kinda getting ready to break down the tackle on the twenty three i think twenty five actually twenty five you like that one yeah those are sick alright we're what's that like twenty threes but twenty five twenty five's grown on me i like i like and this is simple i like team logos and twenty five has the team logo as part of the design just like yeah twenty four did it and twenty twelve those are the only years that had the logo on there so what are the years again twenty five twenty four and twenty twelve are the only prism years that have the team logo on the front great prism trivia there how about this one two thousand eleven tops chrome aj green super fracked psa nine selling for eight thousand three hundred and seven dollars via auction yeah man this this twenty eleven is a great year this card is just incredible i mean what more can you say yeah this is but is this some sort of variation it looks like it it's looking loud look that's that's heavy for a variation though that is it is do like how you can see the his jersey like this is rare that you're seeing the back of a jersey on a card like i'm i can see green eighteen clearly on the front of a card which is interesting but that's a sick card aj green was awesome mhmm very cool very cool card alright we move over to a card i'm excited to talk about and this is the twenty five marshall faulk topps chrome superfractor auto one of one and it's the i love the person who listed this card clay forty four said gorgeous exclamation point a million times but why this card sold for three thousand dollars why i wanted to call out this card in a post playing day card and we've seen this we talked about the fred taylor last week i think that if you're going to do a post playing day card do it right and give us something we haven't seen before and you're seeing this image taken from the super bowl he's got the super bowl patch on it super fractured out in the throwback rams uniforms with it's just this like i saw this card i'm like man that's a lot of money three thousand but then i just like really started to like break down its elements and it's like i don't know man this is a pretty cool card so i'd say like in that tops chrome discussion of like what what do we think of this product or is it good or not like the one thing i think it's done well is post playing day cards i think they've done a nice job capturing them in a different light yeah that card rules the photo's awesome like if you're gonna do a marshall faulk superfractor one zero one auto in twenty twenty six this is definitely the way to do it super cool card alright we move over to cam ward's twenty five prism gold psa ten pop one sold via auction for twenty six thousand four hundred dollars which should be no shocker based on how we do quarterback prospecting but man yeah that's a that's a big card i would imagine that card will be in someone's showcase at the national but what do you think about that that's huge honestly cheaper than i thought it would like i don't know i thought rookie golds just had a higher floor like i'm looking up jaden daniel's highest and i know jaden had a spectacular rookie year that led to this but his gold prism in a psa nine was selling for sixty k so if cam ward's in a tent and i think cam ward's good i think he just had a shitty team shitty situation last year and he had some flashes though and especially later in the season so would i spend twenty six thousand dollars on this card no but like if you're in this world if you're in this game i feel like buying this and then like yeah having it in a showcase at the national for with a thirty five sticker on it i bet that's what someone's gonna do and try and make a little bit of money alright final card here is i i had to just break this up because we are talking about how big your twenty fifteen tops chrome is but post playing day i didn't even know there was post playing day cards in this set but this is the twenty fifteen tops chrome john elway superfractor one of one in a psa seven selling for six thousand six hundred dollars so yeah what what are you what's your commentary on that is there any super factor even left on this card can't see it done you can't even see that where is the super factor where is it that's and whatever i don't wanna talk too bad about these cards because maybe someone loves it and if it fits perfectly in your collection that's great but that just seems like it's like pmg level price for an la card i don't i don't know exactly elway's market i'm looking like right now like what other cards of his are selling for six thousand dollars and yeah his red pmg just sold for sixty three his super rave jersey numbered seven out of twenty five sold for six thousand his ninety seven rubies for seven thousand his i don't know it's just that's a lot of money for just because it's a one of one super factor or that maybe you love the card i don't know it is kind of a cool picture it is a the photo is cool for sure i'll give it that but yeah those are the cards on the market watch this week brought to you by card ladder alright just a quick collecting updates card call out we'll get out of here collecting updates what are the current collecting projects that you're focusing your resources on any pickups lately brett yeah i picked up the twenty five michael pittman junior and anthony richardson gold prisms i just put some heavy bids on those end up winning those so adam add to my collection and also yeah you've you assisted me this morning actually so shout out to you with the jt tua malau gold vinyl for a hundred dollars he's now going by jalen so he's dropping the jt so going with the full name there but i told you in the text it was a great that is like it had all the elements you've got the second a second rounder colts rookie from last year in a gold vinyl it was a hundred dollars obo i just smashed ben i was like this is cheap enough for me and he's a player who's ascending like he's gonna be competing for a starting spot there's a lot of buzz around him and i'm just like defensive guy i was like that was like my favorite like football card pickup in a while so i'm gonna thank you for that that card was cheap enough that people outside my zone would have scooped in and got it so i appreciate the or that was an early morning text which you were doing some work early getting in there and you you thought of me so thanks for that that was yeah the product of like my wife picked up our friend's kid to take them to day care they go to the same day care so like timelines were advanced this morning so i found myself like oh got a little extra time let's let's hit up the saved searches this morning i don't think i normally would have hit the saved searches until after we recorded this so it's very serendipitous pickup there yeah you pick up anything i picked up what did i get so i just got it in the mail two thousand two finest refractor terrell owens terrell owens refractor out of two fifty that becomes number fifty six out of sixty two i believe of the base set refractors of the veterans so that is getting close getting close to having to get the tom brady and figure out the tom brady of it all but was pumped to get that one and then what did i buy oh twenty thirteen select gold brandon marshall psa ten very pumped about that it popped up on ebay i threw a low offer just to like see what would happen they countered with like a very reasonable offer where i'm like wait a minute if i can like talk to them in person maybe i can work out a deal and i found them on instagram and worked out a deal so that is cool that should be arriving today that's the one that's just been floating around central indiana for the past few days they they i think shipped it on thursday and it's wednesday the next wednesday i'm still waiting on it so we'll see but i have the cutler twenty thirteen select gold so that those two will go together they'll go right next to each other in the non prism section of the box we'll have to figure out some new adjustments when that one is introduced but brandon marshall just doesn't have a ton of bear stuff and he had some awesome years for the bears including a first team all pro so anytime i see anything of him in a bears uniform i'm gonna try and grab it quick aside on t o it's funny you bring up buying one of his cards so t o posted three days ago about an individual a former business partner who allegedly was taking money from him and he made it public and the irony of the situation is the person that he's talking about went to high school with so woah the the high school text message threads just went wild and it was all because of t o so if you want some good t o contact check out his instagram feed i'm gonna have to dive into this and i'll have some follow-up questions for you yep i i i will i will be able to answer them awesome alright card call out nineties football cards last week that was fun you all delivered alright i got some options this week so i came into this week thinking a card you've owned for three years could be fun to see some of those cards but then throughout the episode i was thinking patch cards could be fun show some love for the the patches we've never done anything i don't think on that front or like show us your box show pause the setup of your card box is the card call out where it doesn't need even need to be like all the cards but like i'm picturing like an aerial view of the three rows where you're kinda showing what each section could be what what do you think brent do any of those stand out as the a leading candidate let's go rook let's give some i feel like because neither of us are like hardcore into the category we'd probably do it a disservice and i know there there are a ton of very passionate patch collectors let's see the patch patches let's see some patches let's see let's see some patch if you wanna throw your plastic shields in there too we'll we'll we'll repost those as well call me old fashioned but i like needle and thread when i'm seeing patches yeah i'll be i'm excited to see those yeah yeah any patch cards all patch cards matter send them in to the football card pod tag the
