Brett, how are you doing? I'm doing well. I, a little how the sausage is made. I actually recorded, like, the front end before we got on, and I was doing your bit about, the fastest growing.

And I didn't realize I should have remembered we were growing that fast because I believe in the opening, I said this side of the Mississippi, which obviously is selling ourselves a little bit short.

We're coast to coast. I mean and we're we're the world. We're not just half the we're the fastest growing podcast in the world.

And thank you for following the football card pod on Instagram. Episode 15. Season two, episode three, but the real ones know this is episode 15. So we gotta talk fifteens, Brett. And there are some good fifteens in football history.

There is. I I wanna I wanna just make sure we shout out our wonderful, sponsors ahead of that. Just shout out card ladder. I'm wearing card ladder gear at this is this is this is how you really sell out.

Haystack. Thank you. Alright. Fifteens. So I was doing a little dabbling into the archives of the National Football League looking at fifteens, and one that jumped out to me, I'll I'll just start here, was Gardner Minshew on the Jags.

He's a number 15. And, totally forgot that he played for the Colts, because then I was looking at his pro football reference page.

And I was like, oh, yeah. He was on the Colts. He maybe played a game or two. He started 13 games? Yeah, dude. AR got hurt his rookie year. He actually played pretty well.

The the only, the problem was is that the final play of the season when we decided to throw a a flat to Goodson when we were all we if we we we score, we get a first down, you know, we're gonna make the playoffs.

And, yeah, it sucks because Minshew is fun. And I like Artie Minshew, but I just can't like that play, I just can't get out of my mind.

I was there and, like, playing the Texans and I just saw at like, I could hardly watch and I just saw, Demetco Ryan's and the whole team run up and down the sideline.

Like, they just won the Super Bowl. And, yeah, unfortunately, Minshew mania short lived in Indy, but he was fun. Yeah. That I remember that game now. That was a rough way to end.

But that made me realizing that it made me start to respect the Colts quarterback carousel that you've been on the last few years because I feel like those first couple years after luck, I have a lot of friends who are Colts fans, and I'd hear them complaining about quarterback situation.

And I'd be like, okay. Cute. I've been doing this my entire life. Like, talk to me in twenty years.

You had Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck for a combined twenty years. Like, you have no right to complain. But now looking at it, like, you've legit been through this for a while. So, kudos to you and and Colts nation.

My my sympathy I have a little more sympathy for you now. We appreciate that. We're no bears. We're no browns. But, you know, this is what happens when you you have, you know, two decades of great quarterback play.

Although, it appears, you know, with Daniel Jones leading the NFL in QBR right now over Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, it seems like we might have something something something here in Indianapolis.

So only time will tell, but, it's better than what we've had. Yeah. And then I was thinking, you know, you grow up faster when you root for a bad team.

I kind of was thinking maybe comparable to when, you're an older sibling and you lose a parent or something and you're having to raise the family on your own and it's like you become, you know, much more mature faster.

Like, you experience the harsh realities of life sooner.

Life is hard. You don't always win. And and I feel like not only speaking for Bears fans, but there's other, you know, franchises out there that have led to despair for people. So, shout out everyone who roots for bad football teams.

It it takes, you know, takes some real metal to to be able to handle that your whole life. I wanna interrupt this 15 segment and ask you, who's the worst team in the NFL right now?

Oh, looks like the Titans. Right? Like I mean, dude. I don't even think there's an argument. They suck. They're bad. To be in the division with a team like that would be nice.

It's yeah. They're it's it is a mess. The Brian Callahan experiment. Did you see these things play out and it's like the the Colts interviewed Callahan. He was like a serious candidate. It was like, thank God we didn't bring him on.

Because you get mesmerized by the allure of, oh, look at what he did with Joe Burrow. And it's like, did a did a coach really do that, or is just Joe Burrow really fucking good? Like, which which one was it?

So, yeah, it just does does not look good in Tennessee right now. Nope. Some other 15, some personal ones, Roman Doonese, who is looking to have so far a great sophomore season for the Bears. Five touchdowns already through four games.

And Brandon Marshall. So a nice little lineage of the number 15 as Bears receivers. But I have a mystery 15 for you. So I'm gonna give you some accolades and see if you can guess this player who wore 15.

Okay. Alright. Two time Super Bowl champion, though they're not I wouldn't say they're the main reason for the Super Bowl championships, but they were a piece of these Super Bowl champions.

So two time Super Bowl champion, best season as a receiver, That's what they played. They were a receiver their whole career.

680 yards and four touchdowns. So modest gains as a receiver, but was on two Super Bowl teams. And one of the Super Bowl runs in those three games in the playoffs, they came alive with 332 yards and two touchdowns over the three games.

So averaged a 110 yards a game in this playoff run that ended in a Super Bowl championship in a very memorable Super Bowl championship.

Can you name the player? Man. Okay. So Or you can ask some questions to for narrowing it down if you if you'd like some hints.

So this guy didn't win a Super Bowl, but I don't know why I got so distracted as I was because I was thinking about this player. Wasn't wasn't Chris Henry, wasn't he a 15? Chris Hen like, the running back? No. The receiver.

Oh. Oh, I was thinking Travis Henry. Chris Henry, the Bengals rece he is the number 15. Okay. That makes me no. Yeah. Bengals his whole life. So Yeah. I know he's not the answer. Yeah. What was the last information you gave?

In the first Super Bowl they won, they had a memorable run-in this postseason with 332 receiving yards over three games and two touchdowns. So they had a great postseason run. Oh, boy. This is you know what?

I'm just this will be terrible audio for me to just try to, like, wrestle around. I'm just gonna tap out because this is really hard to do in real time. My brain is, like, going in a lot of different directions. Who is it?

Chris Hogan. Oh. The New England Patriots. You have Chris h? When you said Chris Oh, wow. I was like, okay. Wow, Brett. I think he's like a he's that lacrosse player. Chris Hodie? Yeah. I'm almost positive. Hey. Good for Chris Hodie.

I didn't realize he had that prolific of a playoff run. What year was that? So that was 2016, the Falcon Super Bowl. Okay. Yeah. It a lot of it came in the AFC championship against the Steelers. He had a 180 yards, two touchdowns.

Just a moment. Did I could just imagine Brady hitting him like a 100 and Nine catches. Yeah. Nine catches, 180, two touchdowns. And then four catches for 57 yards in the Super Bowl. But, yeah. Chris Hogan, number 15.

That was, like, when, you know, they had the Belichick had the, like, slot receiver factory going on with, like, Hogan and Edelman and Welker. It just, like, never stopped for a while. Yeah. Just guys who can run slants.

That's right. And curls. That that's another thing while watching, a football team struggle to find their offensive identity. I always wonder, like, why not just get really good at five plays and just run those five plays over and over?

Like, if you run a per like, if you can run that play better than the defense can guard it, like, can't why why aren't we doing that more?

Why aren't more teams just, do it? Like, can a like, even if the defense knows what play's coming, if the receivers run great routes and there's good pass blocking isn't shouldn't work out.

I don't know. It's it's it's the intoxication of Madden football and the complex playbook when we should just really rewind and be back in Tech Mobile style.

Just four plays. That's all you need. Come on. It's too too complicated now. Give me the clipboard, and, I we could be offensive coordinators. I'm wondering if they should do that at some point.

Just hire an an average Joe, and they just sit at home watching, like, the games. And but you had you could, like you had the feed in your ear, and you could actually, like that's a package.

You you know, they promote gambling and stuff. Promote the opportunity three times a year. You get all year, you gotta listen to the feed.

But then three times a year, your play gets gets called. You can like, you feel so passionate. You can, like, hit a button and your play deploys on the field, and your quarterback runs the play.

That that's what we should be doing using AI for. That's right. How can I watch the Bears game, but I get a call the plays? I guess that's just mad.

Yeah. It is. But but how cool would it be to be on, like, first take, like, the next Monday because you called, like, the play that Caleb got Rome open and let the game winning touchdown, and it was because of you.

Yeah. No. I like that. I I like the idea of getting the average average fan involved into games more. I've always thought about that.

Like, if you had to on, let's say, offense and defense, like, put one just regular person on the field, like, what position would you put them at to reduce risk of, like, a bad play? Like, if you're on offense, probably receiver.

Like, you probably put someone Yeah. Just out up top and It's like the quarterback in the wildcat. You just throw them throw them out there. Aaron Rodgers in a QB sneak. He just stands back and lets his fullback take a snap.

But defense defense is tough because on the can't really hide someone on defense. No. You can't. Alright. What, did you think this came to mind for you? Patrick Mahomes? Well, I I saw you had him on the list, so I'm gonna ask you.

Yeah. I, Patrick Mahomes, so it was Tim Tebow prior to that. Mhmm. For all the Tebow, madness, he took over everything. But then Mahomes came along and just, like, pushed him out of the way when it comes to 15.

And, you know, it's there's been some good fifteens, but no one like Mahomes. So Mahomes will own the number 15, much like Manning owns 18 and Brady owns 12. Like, Mahomes is is the is the mark. He'll be the 15.

But it's kind of a cool number, and it's just interesting it hasn't been used as much or used on good players as much. Yeah. Bart Starr was the other 15 that is, like a hall of famer that was popping up when I was searching.

Tebow, though, every time I think about Tim Tebow, Tebow mania was insane. And I don't think there's been anything to that level since. I mean Mm-mm.

As far as, like, Linsanity, also similar era, was huge, but more short lived. Like, Tebow Tebow mania in college was a thing. I mean, he was a superstar in college, and then that run-in the NFL was electric. So shout out Tim Tebow.

Lot of Tim there's a lot of Tim Tebow interest in the hobby, and we talked about his gold prism selling recently. So, yeah, he's, he'll never be forgotten. That's for sure. Yes. No. He he will not. So, yes, episode 15. Thank you.

If you're listening to all the this is this our cherry blossom episode? Yes. For all the, you Gen Zers out there, the cherry blossom episode is here for you. There we go. Thanks for listening. I think we, let let's talk about a new set.

Yeah. So new release, brought to you by Haystack. Haystack dot tech. Go check them out. We've got the flawless product and, you know, the flawless of it all, it is one of the most premium products that Panini releases.

This releases on October 9. You talk about a breaker product. I mean, there's no bigger breaker product outside of maybe NT than flawless football. I mean, you're gonna be seeing this stuff everywhere.

And, obviously, check out Haystack's breaker partners and, you know, sign up for breaker connect, and you'll get your images of your hits. But this this this briefcase, and I'm gonna put it up on the screen.

This this one actually looks pretty clean, all white on white. I mean, maybe going out with a bang. I I I get so mixed up thinking about the Panini license and release cycle.

This maybe is the last year I probably imagine of flawless football. But, also, what's interesting is that we've been talking about twenty twenty five football products, but this is a 2024 football product.

So the rookies in this aren't the rookies that we've that we're seeing on the field, and we'll be talking about later on in this episode.

But this is the Caleb class. So we're we're these are the Clay Caleb Flawless cards, Jaden Daniels, and I don't know if that does that bother you?

Does that bother you that, like, the set is a a year late in a way? I mean, it's not for me. It doesn't really bother me, but it does overall, like, yeah, they should be coming out, like, more timely in time with seasons.

But then, I guess, does that kinda clog the release pipeline if everything's coming out, like, right as a season starts?

Like, I get things coming a little later, but to be coming week five of 2025 season, this feels very late. It it'll be interesting to see kind of if this if there's a delay once the license transfers or whatever. Like, I don't know.

I'm I think it's maybe not completely ideal, but it doesn't necessarily impact me all that much. But a little bit about the product. So a 115 card base set, the platinum one of one in the base set is kind of the chase.

But when we talk about flawless, we don't really talk about the base set much. We're focused in on the autos and memorabilias. And I was digging through the checklist.

Dude, there are so many different autograph inserts. And one that I think has been a part of the product for a while that I didn't know existed, but literally, like, dude, they've got these cut autos.

Check out this Brian Piccolo that look at this thing. As a Bears guy? Yeah. But I kinda think, like, what'd they cut this from? Like, I kinda wanna see what the original if it was, like, a I guess if it was just, like, a photo.

I don't know. Sometimes it'll be, like, a historic document, and I'm like, did you really need to cut up the historic document? But this looks pretty sick.

Yeah. And I was going to so let me I'll I'm pulling up the checklist right now, but I the if I if I can find it, the the I I'm struggling to do it right. The checklist of it all is interesting in a way. And I like, here we go.

Flawless cuts. So check this out. You have Al Davis, Hank Sore, Derek Thomas, Jim Brown, Pete Roselle, Brian Piccolo, Doick Walker, Ronald Reagan, Muhammad Ali, Gerald Ford, Bubba Smith, Dante LaValle, and Jimmy Stewart, the actor.

That 15 guys in the or 13 cards in the cut auto of it all are and that's your list. Wow. That Ali being in there like, I get like, Reagan played football, and Gerald Ford played football.

But why is Muhammad Ali in there? Did my Muhammad Ali play football? I don't know. But if I bought into a flawless break and got a Muhammad Ali cut autograph, I'd be pretty excited about it.

I wanna look up you know, on like, when you buy into a break, you can buy, like, a specific player. Like, I wonder how much the Muhammad Ali spot's going for.

It's a one of one. I I hope they're not charging I mean, your chain it's like a needle in a haystack. But, so this this this brings up there's a couple questions that I wanna talk flawless with you about.

Whenever I see flawless, I immediately think of 2014, the debut set of flawless. Where would you put that set, 2014 flawless, in the packing order in terms of memorabilia, high end premium autograph sets in the Panini era?

I feel like again, this isn't my lane, so I'm I'm not an expert on the patch auto world, but I do feel like 2014 flawless is more, renowned than like, I can't think of what first year Immaculate is off the top of my head or first year Eminence, like or NT even.

Was NT in 2012? Like, did that start right away?

You know? Like, I feel like 2014 flawless is just a known product a known year plus product. So, yeah, I would have it ranked pretty high just off the fact I can't name any other memorable years to to me.

Like, there could totally be other sets out there that are, take the top, but 2014 Falls definitely feels like one of the premier ones, because they're all game used.

I know that. That also for this one, 2024, I don't know if it's game used, but that would make me forgive the delayed release if everything was, like, game use from, like, their rookie season.

I think that would be pretty cool if, like, a Caleb Williams RPA had a jersey that he wore as a rookie, a a real rookie patch auto. That act yeah. That would matter a lot, and I guess I don't have clarification on that.

But to me, the the value difference of a Caleb William with the game you Williams with the game use patch and an auto versus a non associated like, the like, the the the delta between those two cards, even if they appeared the same on the surface, would have to be dramatic.

Right? Mhmm. I would say so. Like Yeah. That's what I I have, some patch cards. Like, I have a bunch of Priest Holmes patch cards that I've picked up over the years.

And, yeah, just being game used. I'd like I want game used. I understand why people want game used stuff. And then I always like too when it's specific about the game that they were used in.

Like Mhmm. Just adds another level to it. Even if it wasn't a great game for them, it's still, I think, a cool piece to know or just, adds to the lore of the card. So, yeah, I'm all for it.

I, I I'm with you in terms of 2014 flawless being probably at the top of the list. Before we move on to the next segment, we were talking cut autos. If you could have a cut auto from this product of anyone, who would it be and why?

Like, anyone in history? In anyone in history. Let's try to associate them with football at some level. I think alright. I'll just go George Halas. Okay. I think getting, like, George Halas was so sick.

He not only founded the NFL, but, like, at one point was playing for the Bears, head coach of the Bears and, like, league founder and also, like, selling tickets for the like, was doing it all, like, back when these teams were just, you know, work teams for starch manufacturers and all that.

Like, he just was a legit entrepreneur, but also a a good football player.

So I don't know. Just thinking of him, like, working on marketing plans to, like, market the bears and, like, sell tickets and then also coach a team that he plays on is just crazy to me.

That's a good one. My my first, instinct went to, I would like a a duel, and it could be a check. I don't know. But of Robert who moved the Colts from Baltimore to Indianapolis, and then also his son, Jim Rest in peace, both of them.

But to have the dual autograph, I mean, that's I'd wanted to smell like cigarette smoke, like, every time I pull it out of the case and maybe, like, a drop of bourbon staining it at some level.

Like, that would be a card I'd keep in the PC for a long time. This, I'm gonna go down the the hole later of looking up just any Irsay memorabilia cards.

Like, is there anything out there even that would be, awesome? Imagine an Irsay finite? Dude, he he has his own Yaz on the golf cart with a heater out of the on out of a marble red out of his mouth.

Dude, he has his own museum of music memorabilia. Yeah. Of, like, we're talking Hendrix, Beatles, like, first editions, like like like famous songs written, like, for the first time.

Like, I'm like, I I always see this museum, and I watch the videos. I'm like, you sure there's not some cards back there somewhere? Yeah. He's a he's a collector through and through.

I'm sure I'm sure he has something. That would be and I love, like, when he's wearing those giant oversized suits, like, getting a patch auto with the cut out of the suit. God. Oh, I love it. His daughters are doing a great job.

Shout out Haystack. Go visit haystackhaystack. tech. It was fun to talk flawless football. Yeah. Alright. Let's get into it. Questions from the listeners. I was thinking we need a name for this eventually.

So I've been I've been workshopping, and today we have five questions. So I'm also I was like, is this the nickel d? Is this something with five? Like because, like, Fast Five feels like a a basketball thing.

But, yeah, the Huddle, the no Huddle, No huddle first off the line. We'll get that. We're creative. We'll get something going. We'll figure it out. Until then, welcome to the unnamed question segment.

Question one, this is for me, and this was just based on discourse over the last couple weeks within the hobby. And I I'm just I have a take here, and I'm curious to hear your thoughts on here.

But I said, how do you think about the buying and selling of cards and the role that it plays in your hobby experience? Well, I think I I I'm more excited right now about the buying and selling than ever before.

And I feel like every year I look back at what I bought and what's in my collection, and each year it gets better or I'm, like, more proud of it.

And I I feel really, really good about what I've done this year. And, obviously, the year is not over.

But, like, a lot of so the buying is fun. I'm getting better. I'm getting more sophisticated. I'm getting more focused. And I think that we something we don't give ourselves credit for is, like, that comes with more experience.

And so, like, the more years you put in, naturally, you refine your collecting focus and your buying strategy, and you end up getting better cards.

And so I'm really excited about what I've been doing and accomplishing this year on the the buying front.

I have sold a lot of my sales have been because of a consolidation effort. I have not like outside until recently, which there is an instance that I'm not ready to talk about, but I'll talk about it in the future.

I haven't sold sold cards. Like, just say, I got two cards. I'm gonna sell it. It's always been connected back to, the consolidation effort.

But I don't know. When with with this example that I have of that I'm not gonna be really gonna be very, mysterious about it because I don't have a lot of information to share.

But, like, because I got I'm getting a windfall of some cash, like, I I like I I get that cash.

I'm like, how do I go get more cards and find value in cards and areas that aren't getting a lot of attention, but really mean something to me or could potentially amplify my collection?

So the buying and the selling, I try not to, like, think too much about it, and I try not to stress over it.

And I always tell myself this. It's just cards. Like, even when it's, like, giving up something that I really love in my collection, It's like, it's just cards.

But yeah. I don't know, man. The I've had fun buying, and I've I've I've felt almost obligated in a way with the way the market is. It's like, I'm buying all this stuff. Look at these sales.

And there reaches this point where you're like, yeah. Maybe I should sell one or two cards, to get some money off the table and then go have fun. So that's kinda where I'm at. What you you're you've created this question.

Where was it coming from? What kind of place? Well, I think I feel like selling gets a bad rap or is kinda, like, taboo amongst collectors. Like, people can are critical of people selling sometimes or, like, why don't you know? That.

I don't like those people. I don't like Yeah. And, like, I was trying to peel it back and be like, why do people feel that someone selling a card could be viewed as a bad thing or, like, you know, why could it get people up in arms?

And because, yes, to me, I agree. Like, I think it's totally normal for buying and then selling to be part of most or a lot of people's hobby experience.

Like, especially in this new digital age of the hobby where, like, collecting is, like, a way more active thing than it was, like, thirty years ago when you're just kinda accumulating your cards, maybe going to a card show or your hobby shop.

But, like, it it's just, like, so much faster now where with, social media and eBay and online auction houses.

But and I think, like, buying and selling is a natural part of it, especially as you're growing a collection and are getting back into the hobby.

Because, like, yes, you're finding out that you like buying sports cards, but it still takes a long time to figure out what cards you like buying or, like, what cards you like having.

And that means you're like, peep people love the process of, like, researching a card, finding it's available, buying it, anticipating it. You get it. You open it up.

Okay. Now it's on to the next one. And then, you know, which ones stick after a while and and all of that. So to me, it's, like, totally normal that people might wanna sell cards, and then especially like you said, it's just a card.

So if, like, something you have is valuable, then can provide for you as, like, a real human being or you and your family. Like, sell the card. I don't give a shit. Like, I don't care what anyone else is doing with their cards.

Like This is the problem though, dude. A a epidemic we have in our hobby, and it continues to get worse and worse as the proliferation of social media and the hobby continues to get popular.

There are too many people who aren't worrying about themselves, and they're too busy worrying about other people. I don't give a rat's ass what anybody does as long as they're not, like, defrauding people or whatever.

But, like, who cares if someone's flipping a card? Worry about yourself. Like, we we get so wrapped up in, like, pointing fingers at what other people are doing and, like, judging other people for their actions.

It's like, when you do that, that takes all the focus away from doing what's fun, and that's buying cards and building collections. And I don't know. You it's this strikes a nerve because it just pisses me off all the time.

I see it every day I open up Instagram. It's like someone's criticizing someone else indirectly. They're not even, like, saying it to their face, and it's just like it it makes the person doing it look like an idiot to me.

Yeah. I'll be honest. When it like, I'm here for the cards. Like Yeah. I've made I've met a lot of friends through this, and then I like them, and I like learning about them as a person, like, as I get to know them.

But, like, sometimes, you know, someone will follow me. I'll be like, oh, let me see their account. Like, if they post cool cards, I wanna follow them. But if they're posting pictures of their family, I'm not following you.

Like, I don't care about No offense. No offense. But I'm here for the cards. I want my my Pack Nicholson experience is meant to be like, I opened that account, and I'm just seeing cool cards.

And, like, not not peep like, I don't care about the people. I care about the people once I care about the people, but I care about the cards first and foremost.

Wait. So you're not opening up Instagram for, I political opinions and what you should or should not think or say about the current political climate? You you're not going to Instagram for that? Oh, god. Instant mute. Instant block.

Get out of here. I I curate my my feed and my experience as best I can. But another thing I was thinking of just, like, that comes with the selling side because, like, yes, I think buying and selling is part of this hobby.

Everyone partakes in it. But and then, like, figuring out how you can, like, make money in this hobby via buying and selling of cards.

And so then I don't think it's a crazy idea at all for people to then try and fund their own hobby experience by buying and selling cards on the side.

Like, that, again, makes total sense. Like, why why wouldn't I try and fund my own purchases by using card money? But it's that doing that requires being a salesman of some kind.

Like, you have to do that song and dance, and history is loaded with slimy salesman. So I think then it's, you know, how you operate in that space is where you see people get tangled up, and all that.

So, like, I don't mind anyone who, like, buys and sells actively. Like, that's their thing. I find it interesting. I like seeing cool cards become available. I like seeing what they sell for. It's a fun part of this.

But what I don't like is when people are telling you what you should be buying or acting like showing, like, their cards over and over and explaining why this purchase was so smart and so good and, like, you're a dummy if you're not buying this card or, like, applying financial market analysis techniques on sports cards and, like, this is the theory I've developed for my sports card portfolio.

And it's like, just shut up. Like, it's cards. It's sports cards. It's not that deep. Like, anytime I see one of those things where it's like, I'm a hobby financial advisor, and, like, I can help you shape your card portfolio.

And I it's like, you're buying cards. You're buying sports cards that you think are cool and or, like and then if you think you have these theorems for, like, I've unlocked the the secrets to hobby success.

It's like, yeah. You're buying, like, rare cards that people want and then hoping they go up in value. That's what we're all doing. Like, it's not a breakthrough by any means.

So, yeah, that was, again, asking that question just to rant, basically. There you go. Let let it out. I love it. We need some space for that on the football card pod. Yeah. Just they're sports cards.

Treat them as such. Great question, me. Okay. Next up from chargers PC sports cards. Almost one third of the NFL season is complete. It which got me thinking. It used the NFL season used to be able to break down nicely into quarters.

Like, you used to have the first quarter, second quarter, third quarter, but now with the seventeenth game I know. His verbiage of almost one third of the NFL season is interesting but accurate.

Give your rookie of the year and who you are collecting. Is this is this a, investment question? I'll I'll take it first and maybe you can see how I approached it. And because I wasn't thinking of investing as more of Just football?

I guess the rookie of the year portion, I was thinking, like, who's the rookie that's that's strictly a football based question Okay. Which I put Tyler Warren. I think it's hard to deny that he's consistent.

Like, he already just looks like a veteran tight end, and I'm very, very jealous that the Bears yet again missed on a generational player in the draft that was right there at a position of need.

I'll I'll before I get into the Tyler Warren overall, Emeka Abuka, who I think is his front runner, he is having a wonderful season.

Ashton Genti is coming on. There's there's actually, like, some nice players in the mix. Obviously, because I'm a homer, I'm gonna go Tyler Warren.

The Colts would not be anywhere close to as efficient of an offense without him. He's already that important. But I think what's cool about Warren is that it's we've been in Indy.

We've been just like he's had so many times where it's like catching his first touchdown, not like holding penalties, whatever. And so this week, he just said, screw it. And he just did the old fullback dive into, the touchdown.

So, yeah, Warren Warren is, he's a fun player. Glad we have him. And also too to on the football card front, front, like, of course, I I I would collect Tyler Warren because it fits within my collection.

And that once that prism set drops, dude, it's just gonna be, like, off to the races to try to get my golds and probably try to chase down the Tyler Warren Black Finite.

And somebody will have it for, like, $35,000, and I'll just have to sit on the sidelines and watch.

But so it goes. Yep. Genti is a good one. He finally had his breakout game against the Bears, unfortunately, but, he's fun to watch. Him just standing in the backfield is hilarious.

Just that stance. I hope he doesn't do anything this week because the the Colts have the Raiders. Wow. It's it's an indie. Right? Yeah. It's the battle of the the, the sexy tight ends with, Brock Bowers and Tyler Warren.

It's like, come watch some tight ends do some cool things. Yeah. Love that. I put Omarion Hampton on here. Just I have him in Fantasy the last two weeks.

He's putting up monster numbers as the clear cut number one. I love running backs. So, yeah, him and Jenty. As as far as who I would collect, what would fit into what I do as a running back, fan, one of those guys.

Okay. Next up. This is from Drake's PC. I like this this, little game here. It you know, start bench start bench cut. Three different parallels and sets.

So start bench cut, finest gold extractors out of 10, finest mosaics out of 10, or gold prisms out of 10? Well, I am going to I'm I'm gonna have to go gold prism number one. It's my most collected parallel.

I'm gonna bench the gold extractor, and I'm gonna cut the mosaic. All of them look great. I'll like all of them. Love the shiny cards, but you gotta put some in certain categories, and there can all be winners.

What's your list? Yeah. I think it's interesting to think about this where is it just, like, at face value, you have three cards, like, one of each, and you're making this decision?

Or am I making this decision based on the lineage of the cards? Like, you've got two of them that just have two year runs and one of them that has a twelve, thirteen year run.

Like, it's hard to Mhmm. Like, if I could only if this is asking, can I only collect, like, it you know what I mean? Like, it doesn't mean I can get all gold prisms. I think that that's an interesting fold. I put start gold extractors.

That's just been a card I've been a fan of for a long time, and I've had several over the course of years. Benched prism and then cut mosaic. But the more I was thinking about it because I have, like, mosaics arising.

I feel like everyone talks about that set, but, something that I think is a subtle difference that I'm starting to realize more of, like, a reason why I'm, like, trending towards, like, in it just having the finite pattern.

Whereas, like, the gold x fractals, like, has an x fractal pattern.

But something about the squares being a little bigger, like, the finite pattern is pleasing to my lizard brain where and then I was just laughing thinking of, like, why do I like the wood look of this card over this card?

And it's like, oh, the little square is a little bit bigger. That pleases me. Could could is it possible to layer the the mosaic or the finite pattern on top of the x fracture pattern?

Could could that work? Or would that just look terrible? My god. That's xFractor finite inception. How like, wouldn't it just You pick and here's how you do it, dude.

You pick the only players that get those cards. There's only one. It's the a true one of one. And the only players that get that treatment are players that were first team all pro from the season before.

Well, well, what I think though, if you overlaid the x factor pattern on the finite pattern, you wouldn't even see the finite pattern because the x factor is also squares that fill the squares.

So it would just look like like, how would you notice the finite squares? Because they'd be buried. What if you did the what if you did the x factor pattern is gold, and then you've got the finite pattern on top of the gold?

So it's like it's like a gold accented finite in a way. Yeah. The gold we we gotta send an invoice to Panini because we've already given them the white finite, and now it's taken us three more episodes to develop the gold finite.

Yeah. Hey. Everybody's listening to the, innovation, and the current product marketing and product development here across the entire industry.

We're gonna start outsourcing this. We'll we'll get we'll get checks from LEAF. Wildcard's gonna start paying us for our services.

We're gonna be rich. What's the gold finite x factor number to? It's it's one. But and it's not even the whole checklist. It's just the all pros. Yeah. It's just one slash, and it doesn't tell you what it's out of?

Oh, it's one out of one. It's a one one? Okay. Yeah. Yeah. One one out of one. I think what if okay. Just last last fold. Gold X Factor, overlaid with finite, overlaid with cherry blossom.

Oh my goodness. I I get okay. So now we're trying to appeal to younger generations. So, you know, that actually might be a good idea because then we might be able to get our car our these rare cards in some more streams.

The more streams that see it, the more eyeballs, which means more revenue for these companies. So Yeah. Not not numbered. It's a case hit is what we call it.

I love that even more. And you know what we can do? And don't tell anybody this. We'll print a ton of them, and they'll think they're all rare. And they'll keep buying them. We're gonna print a shit ton of them.

We're gonna print so many. You know that 89 Ken Griffey upper deck card? It does not have shit on this. No. Alright. Be looking out for the x factor finite cherry blossom. It comes in a pack. It's not a briefcase.

It's a trunk, a massive trunk, and it's one card per trunk, and you get this card. Okay. Fun question. Next up, from Van Isle cards. How do you build enough trust with someone on platforms like Insta to buy, sell, trade cards?

I like this because I I hear where he's coming from, where if you're a new collector or I mean, if you've been doing this for years, it's always kind of, like unsettling is not the right word, but, you you know, you're doing a cash transaction with someone over social media and that comes with risk, of course.

But for me, I said it just it takes time. Like, follow people, start convos, share your cards, be active, and you'll build relationships.

And even if being active is just talking and not buying, like, if you see someone with cards you like, comment on them or, like, send a message. Like, I like I'm interested in collecting those.

How'd you start? Or where'd you get those? Like, I don't know. I think you just have to build relationships and show that you are an active participant in the hobby, and then it makes those kinds of transactions easier.

If someone just, like, cold messages me that I never, like, don't already follow or I've never communicated with them before and, like, are talking about buying or selling a card, I think it's just a harder like, I it makes me less inclined to do so.

So it's more about, I think, the relationship building of it all. But what's your take?

There there's, yeah, there's certainly a a feel to it. Like, it's I which there's been a couple people that have reached out to me. There's there's, like, people just blasting somebody's trying to sell a Drake May card right now.

I'm like, dude, quit freaking batching and blasting this Drake May in my inbox. I don't want it. I just don't respond, then I block them. But there's, like, a certain look feel to it, I think.

And I'll give you an example. But I also think that what you said is so true. It's like, these interactions, these conversations, referrals, like, it's all part of, like, the personal brand building process on Instagram.

And I'm not a very trustworthy per like, I I it's it's very hard for me to build and develop trust with people.

Like, it takes a little while, but I feel like and I I was thinking about this in prep preparation for this, but, like, I'm way more willing if it's a card I want, even if I don't know the person, to, like, make a deal on friends and family.

And I'm like, why do I do that? And it's like, do I want the card that much and I'm willing to risk it?

But then also, like, part of it's too, like, well, if this person tries to take advantage of me, I'm just going to destroy them on my content platform, like, every day forever.

Like and so, like, I'm in my mind as I'm doing this, I'm like, well, if they don't realize this, like or if they hopefully, they know, like, what the repercussion is.

And I'm not I don't say that, like, to, like, threaten anyone, but that's exactly what I would do. I would embarrass the person for the end of time. But, anyways, there's and I'll we'll talk about this in pickups.

But there was a, a a Instagram account that was selling a bunch of cards that I was not following, low follower count. But a member in my group chat said, hey. Check out this page. This person's selling cards at fair prices.

And I'd never interacted with this individual before. And they had a card I wanted, and I ended up getting it. But it was awesome because it was, like, just a little back and forth interaction.

It was there was a feel. It was like, oh, hey, Brett. You know, hey. And, like, we talked a little bit. And then he's like, you mind sending it fan friends and family?

I was like, no. I feel good about this. So I think part of it is, like, you gotta kinda break the seal. But, like, if it feels funny, don't do it. And it's kinda case by case is is kinda my read on the situation.

Yep. Absolutely. Alright. Let's see. From BlackHat Cards. I can't even afford Ray Rice cards anymore. How can we make villains despised again? Dude, it's being a bad guy is, like, really in right now.

So I don't know what to tell you, pal. You're you're gonna have to pay up if you want your Ray Ray Rice cards. And I think I had no context, but I I think there was a crazy I'm looking it up right now on card ladder.

Yeah. Yeah. $610. 20 14 Ray Rice sold for 610. And I look at that, and I'm just like, well, it's probably someone building out the Ravens team set or something. So, like Mhmm.

It it's crazy that someone would pay that kind of money for a guy like Ray Rice, who's not a very a very good guy, obviously. But when you're push comes to shove and you gotta build your team set, people do some crazy things.

So yeah. Yeah. I assumed this is what he was referring to as well, which led me to, though, say it's not Ray Rice that necessarily they're paying for or that like, you can still afford Ray Rice cards.

There are Ray Rice cards out there that you can afford.

And to me, it's like about finding new lanes, and there's a set out there with a sick Ray Rice card that no one is paying attention to that if you really want a Ray Rice card, go find it there.

But I also, as a Prism collector, understand the the plight and that, this one specifically may be an important part of a team set. So that's why the price got so high.

But, yeah, I think, you know, we're in this interesting time where the types of cards you and I collect, football cards, from all eras, are going up in value, and we're getting priced out of or just stuff that used to be cheap a year, two years, three years ago is no longer cheap.

And if, like, my salary has not reflected the change in the card market, like, I'm not I need to take this to my boss. Like, hey. Milk is up, eggs are up, cards are up. I need more money here.

I can't buy my gold prisms anymore for market rate. They're five x. Look at this Ray Rice card, boss. Like, what am I supposed to do? Do you see this? Do you see I have a family, and I can't buy this red rice card for them.

What I will say just as a positive note is, like, if there are cards that no one is buying, but you see the traits and you love them, like, buy them like crazy right now because inevitably, like, these cycles always happen.

I this is like, I feel very fortunate because in between the market being not great to where the market is now, the prism stuff, I spent the most money, spent the most time, spent the most building in my collection, and all of that stuff is up.

But, like, also, like, it's part of my collection, so, like, that's the stuff I don't wanna sell. But I I don't know. That's, like, just my feedback in general.

It's, like, there's so many cards that no one's paying attention to right now. So, like, if you believe in them and they make you happy, like, go all in and just, like, that's what you should focus on.

That's kind of, like, what I'm trying to do now in this next phase of, like, the bull market is, like, trying to be strategic in looking at things that aren't getting the attention that I think they should.

Same. And Ray Rice, terrible person, like, kinda bad human being. But That video, man, so bad. So bad. Scumbag person. But I didn't realize he had two seasons over 2,000 scrimmage yards, which Easily forgotten when, you're a bad person.

Yeah. It's like, wow. Okay. Some numbers. It's like, it's like that meme where it's like, oh my god. Like, me finding out about OJ Simpson for the first time.

It's like, oh my god. He did that? He averaged over a 150 yards at a game for a season? Yeah. Bad person. Don't collect them. Yeah. Except, I guess, black hat's whole thing is collecting villains. So Yes. What a what a pickle to be in.

Alright. Thank you everyone for your questions in our unnamed question segment. Moving on. Collecting updates. What are the current collecting projects that you're focusing your resources on? I, like you, well, two things.

One, I wasn't gonna share this, but I don't whatever. In that same batch of auctions that ended last night with the Ray Rice, there was a twenty fourteen prism gold Brandon Marshall for the Chicago Bears that I purchased.

Nice. $219. That seems like a great deal. That's what I thought. Because that Ray Rice was at 500 with, like, days to go.

You should feel happy about Brandon Marshall's, like, one of the best Bears prism guys. Yeah. And so now I have the twenty fourteen Golds, Marshall, Forte, and Cutler. I have the Trio.

Like, all these reasons, I was like, alright. This is something I really I haven't Brandon Marshall Bear stuff just does not pop up. I have, like, nothing outside of a few Topps Chrome gold refractors, but nothing in the Prism world.

So, I was very motivated to try and get this card. And seeing that Ray Rice was sitting at 500 with a date ago, I was anticipating to have to spend a lot more to get this card. So for 200 and, $20, didn't did not feel bad.

So that is but that's kinda my first, purchase in a while. I've been like we were just saying, I'm searching for new lands. I'm gathering intel. I'm trying to find sets that resonate with me that I wanna try and collect.

Because more and more, that's what I found as what I enjoy most in collecting is, like, finding a set that has a lot of players I like, so that I have a reason to collect a lot of different players, versus, like yeah.

Outside of just collecting bear stuff, like, this is separate from that.

So, yeah, just kinda in a in a research phase right now, it feels like, as I'm just watching watching sales and watching, listings and all that, except I don't know if this is happening to you.

My eBay saved searches. Yeah, dude. Screwed. I know. We need to get this fixed. I'm gonna I'm gonna we'll we'll run it up the flagpole.

I know. I've seen the story post. Here's a little tip for everyone while this is getting worked out. Hit your save searches, and then just hit the quick filter on newly listed, and that'll that'll show the newly listed ones.

It sucks. It's an extra step. But yeah. But that's not even like is it just will that show stuff that's not, like, popping up with the dots?

That's, that if you're not my I don't I have not had enough time to completely analyze and solution this yet. But what I have been doing when I've got time in the evening, I've got my pin saved searches, which are my priority.

Mhmm. And I will hit all of them with the pins, and I will make sure that I once I click it, blue dot or non blue dot, I will hit I'll sort it by newly listed.

And I have noticed that I will see new cards before. There's something going on. They're working on something, and obviously, it's it's gonna get fixed. But in the in the meantime, that's kinda what I've been doing.

Yeah. I was going back and forth with the eBay chatbot yesterday. Any success? No. Like, it was first, I was stuck in, like, the auto one where I'm just, like, my safe searches aren't populating.

And it'd be like, do you want this or this? And it I was just in an endless loop. I was like, let me talk to a human. Please let me talk to a human.

They'll understand. And it didn't didn't get resolved. But, yeah, my blue dots, like, it it used to be a ritual where at the end of the night, I could open up my safe searches, and I'd have thousands of cards to look at.

And now it's just, like, barren. This yeah. This has this has happened. Like, I'm I'm I'm gonna I'm not I don't wanna speak on behalf because I don't know.

But I this is we this has happened before, and it and it always gets resolved in that. Normally, it just we're so we're so addicted to, like, the way we always do things that it's like, you know, it's ruffling some feathers right now.

Yeah. No. It's like, I've worked in media for the past twelve years in social media, and it's like when Instagram goes down.

It's just there's a massive ripple effect through corporations. And that's how that's how I feel right now. I bet yeah. This was not at all to disparage eBay. I love eBay.

I'm on eBay. I'm on eBay more than any app, to be honest, probably. So It's on the front screen of your phone, isn't it? Yeah. I just know I'm missing listings. There have been some cards that have sold that I that I missed.

So, hopefully, it'll it'll be resolved soon. I'm sure it will. But, collecting updates. What about you? Yeah. So it's been a crazy week for me on the buying and selling front.

I I have won some cards at auction. I have sold some cards. I can't really share a lot of them yet because stuff is just in motion, but it's been fun. Like, I have a ton of energy.

I I thrive off the activity. And it's been kinda quiet for me for a while, and I'm excited about what's happening. A couple notes. I'm actually gonna share one card. I'll share the card from the group chat earlier.

But because I know that card's coming to my house soon. I have an offer going on a card. And, dude, it is the ultimate long game play where you have a card listed well above all time high. I made an offer.

They compromised a little bit, but their counter wasn't it was still well above the all time high. And then I I gave them a very, very strong number. And this seller, to their credit, they're they're making me sweat it out.

I got three hours left to see, if they're going to accept it. In in my note in my note, I I put a note on the last one, and I said, hey, pal. This is the reason why I think this is a a a strong offer, and I'm gonna tell you right now.

This is this is it for me. This is the last offer you're gonna get from me, and this is my max. And I just let them know, and they they are. And and and I will also say this, it is not for an insignificant amount of money.

It's from a a very for me, it's a very significant amount of money. So I'm just, like, looking at my phone every ten seconds just being like, did did they accept it or not?

So I've been, like, in my mind, I've been, like, mentally being like, okay. You if they decline this, you gotta move walk, move on. Yeah. Just move on. And then also if they accept it, it's like, that's great.

What's really funny and sad and happy and all the emotions about this is, like, in the middle of this pending offer that's expensive, I decided last night to throw, like, a bid, a pretty big bid on a card that I thought I wanted.

I was like, there's no way I'm gonna win this, and then I want it. And so I'm just like, wow. Like, that's an expensive potentially expensive week, but I love it, man.

It's like, I'm not spending my money on anything else. It's cards. So that's what's been going on. More information soon, but I will share. Shout out, Paul, Mortal Kombat.

One of the I just the way he approaches cards and how he is as a human being, I just really enjoy him, on Instagram, done content with him, but just he is very like, his mindset about how he approaches cards is I wish more people, like, operated like Paul.

It's like, this is cards, and he just has a high volume of activity, but he he knows everything.

Like, he's the guy in high school who's got all the rumors. He's just like, hey. This this seller is, liquidating a bunch of sale and its cards, and they're selling at comps or below comps in some instances.

Like, I just bought some Edron James cards. Like, go check out the page. And I was just like, what? I was, like, ran to the page. And first card on the page was a 99 leaf certified Peyton Manning two star Marigold out of 35 PSA eight.

This is a card I have always coveted, but it has just never worked out. I've lost this card at auction several times. I've, just it hasn't worked out, but I've always loved it. I love marigolds.

Anyways, I reached out to the seller, and I was like, is this available still? Yep. What are you asking? Give me a price. I said, can you take this? They're like, no. I've got another offer. But if you do this, we'll get it done now.

And I'm like, let's let's get this done. So not expecting it, but I'm really pumped to add that card to my collection because it's one that I've never had and just have always wanted. And that's oh, okay. So the 99? Yes.

Nice. There Priest Holmes has one of these that I saw once that then like, I didn't know what it was, and I didn't get it. And it sold, and I want one so bad. But I don't know what it was. Those are sick. It's got it's the glow, man.

It's the certified mirror glow. And Mhmm. Yeah. There's 35 it's like well, here's the question to you. In 1999, out of '35 is equivalent to what in 2025? Yeah. I'd What would you say? I mean, I'd I'd say a gold prism, a 10.

Yeah. But that's a 10. Maybe a little more yeah. Yeah. That's a problem. Like, so rare. No. Like because I think about 2002 finest, those cards out of twenty and twenty five from 02/2002, so just just three years later Yeah.

Are still pretty plentiful. Like, they're still around. And I feel like certified had a collector base, still does, so they weren't just ending up in the garbage or anything.

But I don't know. I'm a I'm a believer that a lot like, yes, there are definitely copies that have been lost to time, but they're still out there. I think they're probably just in collections.

People don't know that maybe they're selling for what they're selling for, and they'll show up. But they also don't. Like, now I'm looking and it's like this there's been one sale of this Preece Homes according to card ladder.

So what do I know? Dude, I wanna I wanna shout out, my man, Sergio, who bought this card. He not only took a photo of the package last night, like, right dude, I PayPal them, and it was, like, instantly put in the package.

Here's a photo. Then he I just opened my phone because I wanted to give him a shout out. He just sent me the receipt too with the tracking to, like, double confirm.

It's like, why can't more people operate like this? Shout out, Sergio. Yeah. Always send a picture of the package. Because you save the picture of the package to your camera roll, and then you can just click the tracking number.

Like, you don't even have to copy paste anything. You could just click it, and it'll pull up USPS tracking or fit whatever. It's yeah. Seller buying and selling tip.

Package package promptly. Send a photo. Or communicate if you can't like, I bought a card I mean, this was not recently, but I guess within the last couple months where the person was, like, heading to a show.

They're like, I won't be able to get into the mail for, like, a week. Totally fine with it. Like, you you let me know. You communicated that. It wasn't like we did the transaction, and then I was just waiting.

So just just communicate. That's the key of life. It sure is. Alright. How are you feeling about the two and two record? The Bears, two in a row, man. You feeling pretty good right now?

I am. Let's get into this NFL check-in. Winning is awesome. Winning solves everything. Yep. Like, after they got smacked up by the lines to go o into I was in a dark place, but I just I stayed positive.

I said, hey. Beat the Cowboys, beat the Raiders, and you're two and two going in the bye, and the whole season will feel different.

And it does. That was another They have a bye this week. Yeah. They have a bye this week. Oh, how do you feel about that?

Do you do you wish they were a good boy? You like that? I like it. Like, get me to week six and then give me a buy. K. But it is at a good time. The the defense is so injured. Our first round tight end, Colson Loveland, is injured.

There's there's a lot of people who need to get healthy, some things to sort out on the offensive line, some things to sort out on the offense. So I do think it's it's coming at a good time.

But I will say last season, the Bears were four and two going into their buy, which is crazy to think about that they were four and two, with a rookie quarterback, Caleb Williams, going into a buy.

They come out of the buy, and they play the Commanders. Well, the Bears this year are going into a buy and they come out and play the Commanders on Monday Night Football. You're kidding me.

Nope. So there's some some bad feelings with that because many might remember that last season, that was the the infamous hail Mary that instead of the Bears being five and two, they go to four and three and then four and twelve.

It started a a 10 game losing streak that just Sliding doors moment because Ingers don't make the NFC title game without that win.

No. Like, I I can't think about it. But it it had to happen because it led to the downfall of Matt Eberfluss who, in hindsight, more and more, I just can't believe he lasted three full years coaching an NFL team of adult men.

There's been great, kind of mash up compilations of, like, Ben Johnson in the locker room after his first win side by side with Matt Eberfluss after his first win, and it's unreal. Like, Ben Johnson, I love him.

He's just the players love him. The energy's insane, and then it'll go to Eberfluss, and he's, like, just giving some long winded nothing speech about I don't care if they're wearing black jerseys or blue jerseys or purple jerseys.

Like, we play together, and it's like, oh, just shut up. So, yeah, we'll see this the the Commander's game on Monday night in a couple weeks is gonna be huge, but, it just Ben Johnson has this team feeling different.

The culture feels different. I'm happy. It was just nice to see a couple wins. It was nice to see the offense play bad all game, but then had a Caleb led a great game winning drive when he had to, and then they blocked a field goal.

So, and he's Caleb's getting better. There's measurable improvement. Rome Adunze is sick. But I will say Max Crosby is unreal.

He's just a game wrecker. So maybe just because the Bears' offensive line is a little dodgy, but good luck with him next week because he just for the first, like, three quarters, what the he was doing everything.

Yeah. He's he's one of the best players in the NFL, full stop.

This is the first week I got up on here, and we we lost. And this is what I'll say. If you would have told me we would be three in one out of four, I'd be doing backflips, so I'll take it.

The and I've, like, kind of moved past it. It just the Rams are very good. I'd consider them a Super Bowl contender. They're solid all the way around.

They've got the quarterback. They've got the pieces. They got I mean, defense is solid. They got the head coach. And the Colts didn't play their best game, but literally could've beat them. But self inflicted wounds.

Don't even wanna get into the AD Mitchell of it all. I mean, it was like from a Colts nerdy fan perspective, we've been talking about AD so much from look at this what this guy can do, but he's, like, then he does that.

And it was, like, the definition of AD Mitchell all in one play. And, dude, I as I've gotten older, I've gotten a lot more quieter and calm as I watch these games.

My father-in-law was over. He was coming back from Boston, text me. He's like, can I watch the game at your place from the airport? I was like, sure.

Dude, when when to when you're on the road and you have, like, an incredible play that goes for a touchdown, and then that doesn't go for a touchdown because you fumbled the ball in the end zone, and that touchdown is taken when you're playing a Super Bowl contender in their house, it's just like you might as well have just ended the game.

And then he hold really blame holding call on a Jonathan Taylor incredible run for a touchdown. But to have, like, two touchdowns taken away in that game because of your own stupidity just sucks.

But we're moving on. We're three in one. We've got the Raiders at home. Also, today was announced that Shaquille Leonard, the maniac, would be honored and retired at halftime of that game.

So there's no chance we're gonna we can't lose this game with the maniac in the building. Maniac four 2018 to twenty twenty three, four four time all pro.

I mean, injuries, man, they suck. But, yeah, I'm I feel okay. It's like it was a it was a NFC game too, so just try to stay positive. It's a long season. You're not gonna win all the games.

So, hopefully, it makes them stronger. Yep. Yeah. That was brutal calls as a Jonathan Taylor fantasy football owner. That holding that holding was a terrible Pendulum swing there. Egregious call. It was bad.

That call was for as bad as the AD fumble was, and how stupid that was. That call the holding call was just it was borderline egregious. And you take away that incredible run. It's like, you just take that away from a player.

How bad it's, like, that running how bad is, like, Taylor, like, feel after that? It's like, dude, I did all this, and that just gets taken away for that? Come on. And then holding 10 yards, and then it's like, wait.

I just ran to the end zone. I gotta get back to the huddle. Yeah. And now it's a further 10 yards, and It's a killer. Demoralizing. Yeah. Holdings are the worst. Also, one little other Caleb Williams nugget.

Through the first four games of the season, top five highest scoring fantasy quarterbacks, Josh Allen, number one, Lamar Jackson, number two, Patrick Mahomes, number three, Caleb Williams is number four.

So he's he's putting up some numbers. And, I don't know if we have a franchise quarterback yet, but it's the first time in a long time I've feeling well, that that's not true.

I've always been optimistic about the Bears quarterback no matter who who is there, but feels feels different.

He that kid can throw a football. So I'll I'll I'll I'll I'll segue into, like, some quick hitters because you talked about Bears quarterback.

And, dude, I just gotta say, Justin Fields, when does it end? Fourteen and thirty three all time. I know he didn't play a game this season or whatever, but they're o and four.

I watched, dude, much to my chagrin. Talk about a poo poo platter of Monday night games. We had the Jets and Dolphins into just the absolute annihilation of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Dude, and I was unfortunately watching the Jets and Dolphins, and I literally wanted to run out in the middle of the street and get hit by a car.

That's how bad it was. Outside of, like, the Garrett Wilson, like, play that he made the touchdown and, like, the game was over.

But did I just I can't I can't I heard about Justin Fields too much and people wanting to believe he was, like, the next big thing, and then I just continue to watch him lose. And I'm like, this is it when does it end?

When does it end? Can it be over with, please? Yeah. I have a soft spot for Fields. I know you do. That record, there were the Bears were in full rebuild for two of those years. They traded away everyone.

You're always defending them. They're they're always defending Justin Fields. Always. But they were. They got rid of Mac. They got rid of Roquan. Like, oh, they just stripped it down to parts when he which is sure.

Let's do that around our young quarterback. Let's just get rid of everybody and but I'm looking at his stats from I know some of it was in garbage time, but he had a great game, statistically.

But Stats don't matter if you can't win ball games. Yes. He because by the end of his tenure with the Bears, I remember saying because people would make the argument that he's not he needs more help.

It's like, after three years, you kinda are what you are. And I like, people have won with less.

Like, Mahomes never has great receivers outside of Tyreek Hill and makes it work. Brady never had marquee receivers outside of Randy Moss. But, I mean, they also had these seasons where it was whoever's in there, they can figure it out.

So I don't know. I think great quarterbacks find a way. I still am rooting for fields. I mean, who's behind them? Who else is do they have as an option even? Like, who was who started for the, Tyrod Taylor?

Yes. Like, you gotta go with Fields over Taylor. Yeah. But, yeah, I feel for for the Jets and Jets fans. It's been another long, long quarterback drought over there. It's so hard to have a good quarterback.

Like, I was really thinking about more where the Colts you you having Peyton Manning. Like, not only did you get to have a good quarterback for over a decade, you had arguably, like, the best quarterback ever.

Like You take I remember watching a piranha dude. Yeah. I remember watching both games and seeing those offenses and how like, I don't know.

Like, because, yes, Manny has all those insane stats, but then you also think about it. A lot of those games, he probably wasn't even playing in the third quarter, and he wasn't playing in weeks fifteen and sixteen.

That's for sure. Like, they just were it was such a normal thing for the Colts to win 13 games and Manning to just be throwing unreal passes and leading an unreal offense.

So the odds that it you hit it again are are slim, but one day one day, we'll all have great quarterbacks.

Mhmm. Some other around the league hits. My my second team, the Falcons. I want the Falcons to be good so bad because I love and I was thinking about why I like the Falcons.

Like, yes, I love Bijan, electric running back, but I also like the idea of Drake London and Pitts and Pennicks and, like, all these young high picks, and it made me realize I like them the same way I always liked the Clippers of the old days with, like, yes, Dee Miles, Odum, Quentin Richardson, like, Michael Ollow and Candy, like, all these top lottery picks, this young new energy, like, freak athletes, and still losing.

And I'm like, oh, this is kinda like bad. Watching the Falcons is like so yeah. But my guy, Bijon, 181 yards of scrimmage, he's just quietly Good boy.

At 600 yards in four games. So he's so fun to watch. Yeah. Falcons are the Clippers. You won't find me too often giving credit to other teams in my team's division, but I gotta just say, the Jags are jagging.

They're leading the NFL in turnovers with nine. And so that was a big win against the Niners, and they got the Chiefs up next.

So we'll see. I'm obviously rooting for them to lose, but I gotta gotta give some credit to the Jags. They're jagging. Yeah. Jagging off. Another hitter, Matt Stafford produces record setting wide receivers.

He's unbelievable, man. Calvin Johnson player. First, Cooper Kupp next, and now Puka Nkua. Yeah. Stafford's fun. He's I feel like he's always kinda he's getting his due more and more.

I feel like more and more, he's getting his respect of, like, oh, yeah. He's been doing this for a while and at a very high level and just happened to be in Detroit for the first ten years.

But he is fun to watch. The Rams are good. That passed the two two at well. I'm sorry, but that was sick. 10 players on the field, man. Oh, yeah.

We killed our golf, man. Yeah. It was it was it was the the time zone changed, man. We just weren't right. Mhmm. That's true. The travel. I'll I'll I'll say my last one is I wanna shout out Sam Darnold. I think the Seahawks are good.

He's top 10 QBR and a great reclamation project. But I think what's even more important is my I thought, man, without KOC behind him, he's not gonna be the same. But it's nice to see quarterbacks, like, growing up and mature.

Like, I watched this guy play. I think what do they play? Thursday night? One of the nights? I don't know. But I watched a full game. I'm like, you know, Sam Darnold looks pretty damn good.

So wanna shout out Sam Darnold. Yep. Yeah. He's he's solid. And, You think the Vikings wish they had Sam Darnold? Yes. I mean, or is it real? Jones? Crazy. Daniel Jones, number one. Sam Darnold, number 10, QBR.

Like, probably would be helpful to have one of those guys. Yeah. That Dublin game, I hate like, I wanted the Steelers to win so that the Vikings drop in the NFC North standings, but then that meant I had to root for Aaron Rodgers.

And then at the end, I kinda felt I wanted to see Carson Wentz drive him down the field, but that wasn't gonna happen. And, yeah, I don't know if JJ is the guy.

So Yeah. Only time will tell. Yeah. Well, you never know. It's like we're experiencing when, our teams win or lose. Like, whatever happens in a week is just, like, feels like your new reality forever.

Like You gotta you you need to go see a therapist and talk about your your team because it it's helpful. Trust me. Oh, I my wife knew, like, I was ready to ruin the entire day on Sunday when the if the Bears were gonna lose that game.

I was in I was mad. I was not pleasant to be around. And then as soon as they blocked that field goal, I was like, let's go. I don't care if it was ugly. Got the dub.

I'm happy. I'll I'll make life good for you the rest of the day. And last thing I said, Raven's in trouble. That's great. Like, I know they've had a brutal schedule, but with Lamar going down, that sucks to see because Lamar is awesome.

And, they dude, they're they've they've they are thirty first defense in the NFL on yards given up per game. That's crazy. They're giving over up over 400 yards per game.

That's great. But I still think they'll win that division. Like You do? Yeah. It's not gonna be the Bengals. Bengals are terrible. It's not gonna be the Browns. And then the Steelers are, like, a game ahead of them. Like, I don't know.

I'd I'm I'm I'm jumping on the Steelers' terrain as much as I hate it. This I they're in they're in a position they haven't been in in a while, and I just as long as Rodgers plays like this, I don't see the Steelers losing.

Yeah. I I just The Ravens the Ravens we we get this in our minds that just because a team was this way for a long period of time. It feels like the John Harbaugh era is slowly coming to a close.

But I I mean, I could be wrong, but it just it the start has been ugly, man. It's yeah. I just think of, like, those years when the Patriots started off bad, and it's like the on to Cincinnati years.

And it's like, by the end of the season, I bet the Ravens have 10 wins. Alright. On top of that, it's like, oh, remember when they started one and three, and we thought it was over and Harbaugh's getting fired?

And Probably. You're probably right. Missed two games, but then came back and went on a tour. Like, I could see that happening. I maybe this is is the end, but It's the defense, though, though. Dude, that's the telltale sign for me.

It's like the defense looks bad. Yeah. A 133 points allowed. They have a 131 points scored, which is second most to the Bills, one thirty three. But then, yeah, that defense or Lions have one thirty seven.

But, yeah, we'll see. Let's get a couple sales and get out of here. Yeah. Let's do it. This is the market watch segment brought to you by Card Ladder. We've got three sales. We have the 2016 Select Patrick Mahomes XRC PSA 10.

This is a pop two forty three. This is the silver, and this is a pop two forty three. And this, this card sold for 5 k. So I I mean, I don't know. I just haven't heard too many people talk about this, and to have a pop for $2.

43 and to be sell for 5 k is just absolutely crazy. But, yeah, what do you think about this card? What do you think about XRCs? That's I I think that's cool.

I like XRCs. I think it's, I I feel like it's been happening for so long that it doesn't feel like a gimmick thing. Like, it was around when LeBron became a rookie, like, with that redemption in finest that he they had.

So I don't know. It I still think the true rookie is I I think I would rather have a true rookie than the XRC. Like, I had the Bijan prism goal his true gold rookie, but I sold it so that I could get his black XRC.

But if I had to pick between his black XRC and his prism black one zero one rookie, I'd rather have his prism, like his true even his select.

Well, I don't know. I don't know. I like XRCs. I think they're cool, and I like the lineage of them and that they've been around and especially with, like, the Select, especially is Mhmm.

Is memorable. I I like how, Select has been, like, the brand that these exist in. I think that's cool. The next one, we have a 02/2003 Topps Chrome Tom Brady Gold X Factor out of one zero one b g s nine five.

This card sold for $18,600, and I was looking this up. This is the all time high sale of this card. And the last sale that was comparable was for 12 k, which is in November 2022. A 101 copies. That's the one knock I have on this card.

I think these things are beautiful. There's a 101 copies. But, yeah. It's just crazy. It it it's there's five nine fives, but, yeah, we're in this era right now where people are willing to set all time highs.

Yeah. I mean, I love this set and card, and I guess maybe this part of the value is when we were talking about his 2002 tops chrome, the black, and how it's his first, like, numbered tops chrome.

And now this is his first numbered gold tops chrome.

Yeah. That's a lot of money for a card out of 01/2001, though. But these are a really, really hard grade. And so to have a Jem Mint copy is is cool, but, yeah, there's only one PSA 10. And it sold publicly for $2,200, the last sale.

What do you think that thing would go for now? Yeah. I mean, if the BGS is selling for 18, I bet it's $25. 30. I mean, these cards are these cards are amazing, though. I love them. Yeah. They are they are very cool.

And that like, I bet you could look and other players are so cheap in that set still. Oh, yes. Like, 100%. Another just fun set to look for if you wanna collect in this era, like 2003 tops, chrome, gold, x factor.

Let's see even, like, Terrell Owens. It's probably, like yeah. A $150 for PNC nine t o. Like, you can It's a great segue. Well The that's the weekly wrap up though.

And just a reminder, be on the lookout for week not the, the Brady wasn't, but the weekly wrap ups will get you. Yeah. Be careful about that weekly wrap up label. Get get out of here. Yeah. I'm not interested.

We've got the six tops chrome, Terrell Owens, Superfracture one of one PSA 10. Just a gorgeous looking card. And this is a great card, but why I wanted to bring this up is because it is the highest selling Owens card of all time.

Uh-huh. Sold higher than the PMG green Wow. In September '23. So that's where we're at, ladies and gentlemen. We are setting all time highs with t o, and it's in super factor form.

That that's crazy. I mean, I bet when's the last time his Green PMG sold? It looks like There was two two two sales in twenty three August, and this could be a reload.

No. These are two separate copies. August '23 and September '23, 8,700, then 9,600. I wonder if that was a crossover because, the SGC eight five sold in August, and then a PSA five sold in September.

It's very likely. Yeah. But I bet I bet his green PMG would break would sell higher than this now. Agreed. Agreed. What's the what's your favorite version of Terrell Owens?

Great question. I would say, I'll this you're gonna piss off audiences with this, but I I to me, the most memorable version of Tio is this version, Cowboys Tio. And, I just I there's so many sound bites, and his play was absurd.

So I'd say even though I don't like the Cowboys, I'd say Cowboys t o. What about you? I think Niners Yeah. Still. I just because he was there longer and, like, the Sharpie was with the Niners.

Was the pom poms Niners or Cowboys? Oh, dude. I can't I I I just think of yeah. I get them all. I mean, I just I feel like the Drew Rosenhaus TO, like, collaboration was so prolific in this o six time frame that it's like I just Yeah.

You know what I mean? That's like Drew Rosenhaus became a household name because of the of t o. Yeah.

He was just He's doing he's doing freaking Crunches. Sit up sit crunches on his driveway without a shirt on. He's like, come on, media. Let's get him over here. Let's let's try to get it some more money. That was incredible content.

But I wonder if the not only, like, we've talked about team switching and how that can, hurt collectibility, but also then going from, like, Philly to Dallas, like, inter divisional rivals, if that even hurts even more where like, if I'm an Eagles fan, why I would never want a Cowboys card and vice versa.

And then the Cowboys being a rival with the Niners, like, the the specific teams that he went to being, like, rivalries in themselves, I wonder.

I think all of that washes away when you're a hall of fame talent. It doesn't matter. True. True.

You know what I mean? Like, I just that's what I don't know if that plays across everybody, but it to me, as I was you were walking through that, I was like, I think it just doesn't matter because he was one of the greatest receivers.

You know? He I wish, because he retired 2010 his last season with the Bengals, his one season, at 37 years old.

In 14 games, he had 983 yards and nine touchdowns. Still just balled out at 37. I wish he made it to twenty twelve, though. That would have been fun to see him and, just last a couple more years.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda. Alright. What an episode for card callouts. Last week, asked to see trios. Love the creativity that was on display. A lot of good, trips of cards that were posted.

And this week, I'm gonna try something new. We're going colors. I wanna see red cards. So any kind of red card, red based card, whatever balance of the colors you think, But I will say the more red, the better.

I won't say anything publicly, but I'll judge you internally. So, like, if this red jersey on a red background red everything, awesome.

You know, if it's just a player in a red jersey, that works too. But, whatever whatever red cards you have in your collection or your possession, post them on your Instagram story.

Tag the football card pod in your story post. We will reshare them, and we will see you all next week. Thanks for listening. Thanks, everyone.
