Booked to Last: WrestleMania Patches and the Royalty Debate
it's episode eighteen yes it is i am fired up to talk some wrestling and wrestling cards but more importantly adam how we doing i'm doing good man it's been a crazy crazy week for all of us think we're we're in the throes of the the biggest release that we've had in a while i mean like i guess it is the biggest release we've had in a while because chrome was kinda big too but man what did what what else was i i'm not gonna say that you know royalty is false but it is probably the most excited i've been for a breaking type product to get into breaks since flawless just remembering what it was like so for me closest to it again obviously we were in all the other breaks but yes i'm i'm kinda there with you on the feel of that yeah i mean like i think i was beyond excited just like you for for royalty and like so we'll go through like top to bottom we're gonna grade the entire product i've got it all separated out so we can we're gonna have some fun we're also we'll start with sort of the the normal stuff we do just for a little bit so people you know don't wanna kill us for only talking about one thing for the whole podcast but i think like as we get going like royalty is gonna be quite a bit of this and there's been a lot of stuff to talk about so let's start with with some wrestling news because it's just it seems like every week there's something crazy that happens in wwe this time it's more releases and or i guess you could call them departures from the company we saw jd matteo tomatonga get released and then we also saw the new day decide that they wanted to depart the company after being asked to take a pay cut or so the the scuttlebutt has said that was unexpected to say the least and a little bit unfortunate for a lot of people out there especially the collectors that have been following them for over a decade i think at this point so i'm curious like when you saw this come across your feed like what was your reaction shocked on the new day when i heard that that one really was like woah okay they're gone like i mean they've been a big part of wwe for a long time kofi was what eighteen years in i think i saw i mean he was a lifer i thought i thought he would end his career there but you know different pivoting now i'm hearing things where w is trying to get xavier woods on the tyler breeze contract i guess is what i'm hearing but i just i feel like they've gotta go on together i'm assuming aew is the landing spots so where they do treat tag teams a lot better they respect tag teams i'll give aew that for sure so that one shocked me obviously mfts are already you don't need that many guys so i guess j jc mateo was probably the okay like i thought you guys had a yeah jc yes yeah jd don't worry i gotcha jd madera jd brochow and kevin might kill you for splitting jd there but i won't so i i just don't think they knew what to do with him and obviously tomatonga as well so i think you kept the right ones with it i i don't know man the new day really shocked me i think we're done with cuts right now i don't know i mean i was kinda this one came out of left field a week later i thought there were gonna be more cuts this saturday after the black friday but we get it a little later so here we are yeah when when jeff cobb came to wwe like there was a lot of excitement about him not just because of like what he had done in new japan and like all the indie circuits and everything like cobb was was a pretty like established indie wrestler that had a lot of success i think he was on the aew a couple of times tamatanga gorillaz destiny like obviously they're a big tag team as well in new japan and some of these other things i think tom wait wait tongaloa sorry not tonga tonga i'm getting all of them mixed up tonga loa got not tonga tonga yeah sorry i'm i'm i'm all turned around here this is why this is why i'm trying to do the prep prep prep ahead of time and i just man you're so much stuff going you're bumming i what's going on with you everything yeah did congo were delayed on urine today so i think that's why you're throwing off on this right yeah exactly yeah i had my son had a program at school and like i didn't get the proper time to vet all of my research but tonga loa was the one that was released tama tonga is the one i'm glad stayed i think he's much more of a talented wrestler and i think they're gonna use him hopefully with solo or something else he's decent on the mic as well and i think he they'll end up feuding together at some point i think i i know a lot of people like him as well and i think you could see what he can do in the ring's really really talented so he he seems like a better worker and like he he seems like the person that i would keep as well tongaloha botched his like debut in the company yep it's it's been downhill since then if you go back and watch when he sort of came out from under the ring and just completely missed his queue he also almost murdered cody rhodes' back when he like threw him into the corner that i mean like there's there's a whole like like montage of this but the other thing is new day kinda to your point obviously we we've seen kofi kingston win a championship we've seen xavier wins xavier woods win king of the ring we've seen who am i working with today man i know man i'm just all over the place we've seen xavier woods win king of the ring we've seen a lot of you know the new days accomplishments being legendary in a tag team division they're probably i would say arguably if not the best one of the best with the usos as the greatest tag team to be in wwe but it's kinda like wwe really hasn't cared about tag teams for what ten years fifteen years at this point if not longer we've gone you know dudley boys were great hardy boys i mean obviously before that they were big in the eighties so i feel like i to me new day's top five of all time for sure but yes wwe has really pivoted away from tag teams now it's more of a tko taking over wanting it to be more comedy it seems like versus skilled tag team wrestlers you know yep exactly and so i mean obviously they'll go to a place like aew or something and and get some matches with the many established tag teams that they have there i also got to see some of the debuts on smackdown that happened right as all of this was going on so we had blake monroe and ricky saints debut on smackdown or i'm sorry ricky saints debut on smackdown blake monroe on raw i believe was it or was it both on smackdown smackdown mhmm smackdown both on smackdown yeah mhmm and i think i mean ricky saints going in with cody rhodes like right away just like we saw with liv morgan and soruca so i mean like they're really getting these guys to the front of the line which i think is great for them to get established and and over with the fans so i mean ricky saints i think was very talented coming into the company spent you know about a year or so ish in nxt comes up and does and is gonna do some great things on the main roster i would guess he's cody's friend so he's not going anywhere yeah no he was really good at aw and that's obviously where him and cody have a a past and ricky saints you know if you've followed wwe for a long time he was always that extra guy security and stuff so he has a relationship with a lot of people at wwe so i think he's here for the long haul i hope they use him right i already like what i'm seeing out of ethan page and what they're doing came on raw big ethan page fan i i'm a heel guy and i'm just the guy's got it he's great on the mic he's a good wrestler he's a good worker so not to pivot from this but i think when they're bringing these people up when they're letting people go they're they're not anymore gonna try to just throw them under the rug they're trying to give them the right push that they need everything of that so i'm excited to see what these people could do as much as the nxt that i started watching years ago love the nxt brand love the product love what i'm seeing and then when they get their opportunity up here and ricky saints did not need to spend that much time at nxt same goes for ethan page they all were aw they were all having main event matches there so coming on up it's great to see them getting that opportunity yeah i mean like i i think for them to be successful and they don't have to stay at the levels that they're introduced at but like getting them that exposure that early on i mean look what it's done for obafemi look what it's done for stephanie vicair even like going back as far as tiffany stratton and bron breakker and so on and so forth it goes all the way back to the beginning of when triple h really sort of had control over creative he's really been bringing up these nxt guys and they just right off the bat they've they'll say sync or swim like if you can't prove it then we're not gonna continue to give you these opportunities but if you can like we've seen with some of these guys coming up like ethan page had a great match on raw on monday and i think it was done very very well he's you know right alongside joe hendrie doing great stuff too so i mean that fire logan paul he he actually released a music video on wwe it's so good and that's great i love joe henry i also want because backlash is is coming up today if you are listening to this on saturday if you're listening to this on friday it's tomorrow and i i've never been a fan of backlash period like it's it's always that one pay per view that they just struggle and struggle and struggle to fill a card for i'm glad that they've sort of released or re reduced some of these pay per views in between the big ones like money in the bank and whatever to be like four or five matches only so not as much of an undertaking to get like seven eight matches on the card but i mean like the some of these matches man like for backlash io sky asuka going up against each other i i i'm sure they've wrestled each other in the past in in their pre in stardom and everything like that but i i can't remember if they've actually had a singles one on one match in wwe i don't think so i kinda think they have but i don't know i mean obviously there's so much to cover on that so no but backlash at backlash triple a let's say we were there last year when it was in saint louis obviously no not really many title changes happen with this kinda more predictable type matches you just got your people set up for mania so i mean you're getting a ple but i get your point behind it it's it's very predictable i would say you're i would get what are we getting gunther and cody rhodes now is that what we're getting i think they're probably heading that direction but i think i mean they gotta get it by friday yeah mean they gotta do it on friday so i mean rounds of breaker i was hoping that would be more of a summerslam match i was hoping that would obviously you can't draw it out you have to have it now or you just have one at backlash and have it end at summerslam so maybe backlash is setting up pre summerslam stuff i don't know however i'll be watching it it's just i'm with you it's not like money in the bank it's not like summerslam it's not like rumble it's not like you know it's just a filler type one essentially is how i look at it but again yeah ble gonna be good i don't think we're gonna see obafemi wrestle anybody so obviously everybody would love to see him wrestle so what are we getting probably five matches yeah i think it'll be so eo eo and asuka i think is gonna be an absolute classic i've heard like there were some people card pros in in the chat that were in just talking about stuff to think like this could be like asuka's retirement match i don't think we're there yet oh i don't think we're there yet but i mean like that's a pot like she and eo finally have a match they finally put on this you know matt classic that everybody's been waiting for because it's been one of those matches everybody wants to see maybe she says alright i'm now what forty two that she is or forty three she's like i i'm i'm gonna go and and close my tenure here i would hate to see that happen but because she's such a valuable part of the women's division for so long and she's accomplished so much and io is one of the best workers on the roster male or female so i mean that match is gonna be great we got rollins and breaker which we talked to we do we're just mentioning that's gonna be interesting to see how they play that out if they get if it's an overbooked mess or if they just let them wrestle and then yeah you mentioned cody and gunther and then roman and fad two right now not there we have trick and sami zayn we obviously know the fad two reigns we talked about the the rollins breaker and then we get dan hausen a mystery partner against the miz and kit wilson right now so that'll be fun though i i always like watching kit wilson wrestle he's fun oh it's it's entertainment so i mean obviously i wonder who the mystery partner could be but yeah i don't know if are they gonna make obviously they would have to decide friday or if you already listen to this and smackdown if you're gonna have gunther and cody rhodes or you're gonna pivot that to summerslam at this point so i really don't know what they're doing here with that yeah i don't either maybe the maybe gunther and cody is on that saturday night's main event that's coming up like right after that that could be could be because right now you have five you have five matches scheduled right now which typically what they do yes so it might not be happening again we we don't know it's still early in that but maybe they're building along our story so just briefly i wanna cover the obafemi open challenge because not because it was a a good match or anything like that but just because like otis is a bowling ball he is and like he like comes out and obafemi just wrecks him and but like he's oba has like started to sort of develop his like signature move set and one of the things that besides the fall from grace which is his finisher he's got this torpedo uppercut that just i you could not pay me to take that move enough money in the there's not enough money in the world to make me take that move that must be feeling like getting hit by a mack truck i'm sorry there's there's no way anybody can have the type of body control to not make that feel you're getting hit by a truck otis was like holding his ground for about forty five seconds and that torpedo uppercut just came out of nowhere and you're just like oh my god and then he like lifted him up and threw him which is massive and then he's like alright i'm not gonna try to i obviously otis is not limber enough to get up there so he's like i'm gonna have to put him on top of the road so yeah love it i at first i'm like if he truly is gonna fight tezawa this is gonna be like stupid but otis otis is a big guy he's he's actually very strong too so it was it was great to to see that one happen yeah so we'll see about backlash i'm interested this i mean roman in fact yeah roman in fat too is gonna be crazy i i love the the finishing segment on monday but i i don't like despite all the news and rumors like my god roman's leaving the company and more like no come on no it was just a clerical error or something that's somewhat they said alright let's let's let's get into it let's get into royalty let's put the crowns on we're gonna it's gonna hopefully hopefully we're gonna have everything we're looking for basically the way i wanna do this is i have some categories here just to keep us on track there's a lot to discuss here we'll cover autographs relics chase cards the ripping experience and an overall product grade think about this from the psa j the the grading scale gem ten is perfect mid nine's great eight is solid all the way down if you wanna throw a poor grade on something which i have a feeling where we might align this one element of this like we can do that too but like what think about from each of these perspectives like what is your perfect like how you would categorize each of these things if it's like a gem ten like oh that's amazing versus oh that's that needed a lot of work so are we good to get you like we we got it we're good alright ready i know the grading scale i think i got this you are you sure you know the grading scale i don't think you own a card shop or anything i don't alright let's start with the autograph content so i will we can trade off or if you wanna just lead off with all of them and i can answer the autograph content which includes we'll include the autograph relics in this and like just general sort of feelings on it what's your grade for the autograph content the things that you've seen how how are you grading this just to kick this off yeah i mean obviously it's got everybody key that matters i mean i think i'd have to give it like a nine on this one just because you have everybody ex you know for the most part that's in there you got chances at rock triple h stephanie mcmahon then the normal stone cold undertake a i mean you've got everybody i mean again yes you have to load it with a bunch of fluff and it's unfortunate that a lot of this product is filled with people that are no longer with the company especially after black friday last week so that's unfortunate but overall everything's on card on card autos i don't know about the hokogans i haven't seen they're stickers stickers okay besides hogan obviously rightfully so i would still take a hogan sticker auto versus no hogan auto to add the value to the product so overall the content i'm gonna give it a nine just because it grabs everybody you have chance at everybody i i mean i would say i it is harder to i have not seen as many undertakers i think he's very limited in this what is he's he's got cards i've seen all over he's all over tops chrome i mean especially delight i've hit so many out of delight so this one maybe they just didn't have enough form to sign maybe they weren't ready i do love that they got the you know some of the images they use for it to undertake or the caskets maybe that's what they said maybe they're like hey we're not gonna have as many autos but we're gonna implement the caskets great so again that's my opinion on the autographs i wanna hear your thoughts i'm a nine as well i think i i covered the i did this on main event and nine was my grade the reason that i think i'm giving it a nine is only because i think the like it would be a ten the inscriptions i mean just that kevin owens card where he's like oh it's card number sixty nine you perv like all the inscriptions all it's all on card the cards designs look amazing i think the autograph relics look awesome in hand these cards are absolutely gorgeous and it's like it's meant to be a super premium product and i think that if you are somebody that thrives on you know the immaculate transcendent flawless like type of cards to display on your shelf like i do behind me like these are your this is your brand this is the tops equivalent of that now it may not speak to you in the same way that others do but you you nailed it like if somebody was available to sign they're in this product even people who weren't available to sign have redemptions in this product mhmm so there's really not much on the checklist that is missing here but my only reason it's a nine and not a ten is because to your point i think it's still delayed from twenty twenty five so there's a lot of you know guys that left pretty early on but even beyond that i would have liked to see a much tighter checklist like i think like if if right now every box has six autograph cards in it they probably could have done the same amount with five and fewer of the the types of lower card jobber type guys that i think just yeah it extends the the box ripping experience but overall like i think there's just there's not much there to drive me to say this is a perfect autograph checklist it was a little bit tighter and i hope we get it for dynasty because if it's this lengthy for dynasty we are gonna have major problems so one thing to consider on this and not to interrupt you while it's fresh in my mind is okay we didn't get any cuts in this are we getting cuts in dynasty you know because there's big time wrestlers you could add to the element of the product so dynasty traditionally has cuts in baseball so maybe they're saving cuts there but i feel like you've got to get cuts in wrestling products they're a team thought it was gonna happen here yeah that's why that was probably the one reason i think if you had the cuts and you could put some big names in there that are no longer with us might have been closer to give it that ten grade you know in my opinion just to put you know names out there the only name you're not gonna get vincent mann obviously you're not gonna get him anymore but outside of that you can get a lot of these cuts for an affordable price and put them into a card yeah i i don't think that there's any doubt about that and i was expecting that honestly i think we had both heard that they are working on cuts and stuff like that yep so i think like for me like if you want a rhea ripley autograph she's got a lot of them if you want kendall gray who is the up and coming you know superstar collecting experience they've they've they've got her too if you want roman reigns he's not a redemption he's live in products with an autograph relic similar to universe great looking card he's in the product cody rhodes centimeters punk like it literally goes on and on and on and on and on so i think like from that point of view like there's not much to complain about from an autograph standpoint other than if you're ripping a box which we'll get to here later on so i think both of us are solid on nine which i i think that's pretty solid for for a product like this it needs to be a nine given what it is yep alright let's talk about the relic content here relic content is all event used and i think from my perspective i think i i this is around the eight nine mark for me as well the only thing that i think is is driving it back for me is that there there are relics that don't have the specific event called out on the back i've been told that there are some things that wwe was sent that sent to tops to cut up for products like this that weren't labeled they couldn't necessarily provide the date for everything but when they could they did in this product which i think is like that's what drives collectors to actually add that value i've seen some ridiculous patches i've seen some ridiculous relic content but there's still that like element of like oh it's still like this one color napkin piece and i think that that's really the only reason why again there's it's just that one nitpicky thing that's sort of taking it back from a ten down to like the nine eight region is and i think the other aspect of it is like yeah topps doesn't really have control over like what colors are in a wrestler's gear or whatever shirt they get it is what it is becky lynch who obviously i'm buying you know millions of breaks for like she like the costume that she wore or the gear that she wore for this product was from january thirty first twenty twenty two i actually went back and watched that segment with ronda rousey and lita and everything leading up to wrestlemania thirty eight and her gear was crazy colorful so all of her relics are crazy colorful but some of the other ones like the john cena stuff he only has like of the front and back of the shirt they had to use some of it for the cena product they had to use some of it for universe and other things like that so i get why these things are the way that they are but that was sort of my thoughts on it yeah i'm gonna give it a beckett nine five on this one i as much as i wanna give it a ten i think the drawbacks adam alluded to were hey not everything could be dated say what it's from but everything is event use everything is something to do with the wrestler we know that also implementing the first ever wrestlemania patch on us in this product adds a lot of value to what we we'll get there yes again so i'm just looking overall the the relic content so i'm gonna give it a nine five just because if you could have put everything on there what it's from i'd give it a ten an f of ten you know yes no question so i i am a fan of flipping it over and saying what it's from so going back to our old school days of collecting i love back then when they put like on the back image of a car they would show what the item was what it was from what it stated that was done differently we we had a made and we just didn't realize it back then with game use items so getting a product that is event use essentially game use however you wanna call it in the wrestling world is big we got there with the universe but now we really get this with this no mat relics thank you no mat relics in this yes great job so overall love it knowing and i think people gotta put that into consideration that just because it's a dual relic and it's numbered in fifty or ninety nine of somebody you gotta remember this just isn't another relic of somebody from another set that's not event used that's not a premium product i feel like these will hold value yes we're gonna get royalty every year we didn't get flaws every year we got it once and those were not event used so put this in perspective that what we're getting is bringing us even closer to the wrestlers and wwe universe yeah and and like i've seen like they they have those humong like those jumbo relic single cards mhmm i can't remember what the name of the set is but i was in a break i just randomly bought rhea ripley and i hit like a a rhea ripley to ten of that jumbo and it had like a monday night mommy yeah like it was so cool like i saw that jada parker one zero one has her like whole face in it i see like i mean it's like these types of things are what make collecting awesome for everything and i think when we get into a situation where hey everybody wants immaculate everybody wants those crazy that i have in my display case with everything that that a shirt could that you get from wwe shop can have faces and logos but i and some of the cards here actually have that stuff we saw the cena we've seen asuka we've seen some of these other ones where it's like full face i think steve pulled a booklet out of five for rhea ripley he did i was i was in the break when he hit that that was awesome it was that was so cool and like you don't get that like in every set and here not only do you get it but it's also event use and to your point i think that adds such a level of collectability to it and collectors like i see are already like trying to track down like where in the shirts these things are coming from or where in the gear we saw kyrie saying rip no she's not dead but she's gone but like you saw like when she was signing her cards like they actually have like pieces of her gear that are like sewn on and stuff like that which is in that jumbo relic which just looks awesome and it looks so cool to know it was worn in a match it was worn on tv it's not just worn in an autograph signing like panini did amazing things like you and i are never gonna say that they did it but this is another level yeah and again put in perspective like you were mentioning to macron they were known for those big patch sets and those bring big money how they they look at something those were never anything those were just a t shirt cut up and think about this now we're taking the element to where this was worn by that said wrestler this is even closer and if they would do these type of patches in baseball or football or basketball i mean think of what these things would do astronomical but you could do that with wwe which is awesome let's put that in consideration yeah exactly alright now we're gonna get into the good stuff so i think royalty is known for its chase content that's basically what is built around so what grade are you giving the chase content here i'm gonna give the bully bob i give it a ten an f in ten i'm all in on it because look at just what you have pictured here if you're following patreon right now i mean everything is beautiful i'm looking at look at the cody rhodes undeniable and undesirable undesirable undeniable two undeniable eos sky with inscriptions the icy champ maxine with those eyes obviously he's teasing me with the randy orton wrestlemania patch order here but i'm gonna give it a ten for the chase because that's why you're ripping this product is because you're getting an element of wwe product cards that you've never got before through anything over the years i mean you had what what was undisputed but they had nothing to discount nothing so i i'm all in on a ten on this one i don't care if i'm biased at this point i mean i ripped this product to try to pull cards like this and i was unsuccessful i i ryan got to give a bgs grade so i'm gonna give a bgs grade as well this is a black label ten like there's no label he went to black label ten this man like the the chase so i i'm well like obviously we are keeping a close eye on the randy orton auction i think when john cena hits when if jameson ever decides to list that crazy cody rhodes that he hit which by the way congratulations jameson congratulations jameson yes we you deserve it you best ripping day of anybody in the history of dressing deserve it i'm trying to look at well well well like let me finish my thought and then we'll talk about jameson's day because if you're if you're not following exquisite sports collectibles and port city sports collectibles go see what he's gonna be posting here he's already posted the cody rhodes wrestlemania patch that he hit but like there's nothing in wwe to this point they had wwe logos in immaculate they were not event worn they had crazy stuff in immaculate none of it was event worn these are specific relics tied to a historic event we've covered it as no ad nauseam so i'm not gonna go too further too much further into it but a lot of these relics are from shirts with logos and faces on them they saved them for the best for last in these products a lot of the universe one o ones didn't have these because they were being saved for this product and like this eos guy with a full women's championship logo in the middle the john cena with the face logo from his shirt on the farewell tour all the inscriptions the wrestlemania like literally cannot get better and i have gone on record in saying that these that the wrestlemania relics for now will be the most valuable cards in the history of of modern wrestling we'll have yet to see if it's all time for wrestling i think we're gonna find out pretty quickly with cody rhodes and and john cena and some of the other ones rhea ripley that are gonna just be competition through the roof across all areas of the hobby i've seen sports card collectors talking about these cards they're like the debut patches so it's garnering a ton of attention how are you arguing against the chase content in this product it is unlike anything we've ever seen before i mean that eos guy is like a logo woman if you could call it that you know like yeah you know that john cena is a logo man type esque outside of his mania patch the one with his whole face on i mean this is revolutionary this is something we've never embarked on that's event used we've seen it in other products that's nothing to do with anything this is revolutionary i was so excited about this product i'm still excited about this product i'm disappointed that i didn't get the one orton and all the breaks i know he's disappointed he didn't get the becky but at the end of the day we are excited about something like this this is something the wrestling card collectors have been aching for and have needed for a long time and we finally got it it's here yeah and i think like so let's go through some of the the fun stuff that has happened over the last week so you and i joined a ton of breaks i did tremendously i pulled about seventeen eighteen autographs pulled some really low numbered stuff cannot wait to get all that in i did not pull the card i wanted but i wasn't expecting to like let's be fair and i don't think you i think you wanted to pull it but i don't think you were expecting to pull it either no even how many cases are out there but the fact that we're seeing these cards jameson told me like how cool they look in hand they're they're yeah they've got the platinum hollow foil on it it's absolutely gorgeous these will be cornerstone cards these will be cornerstone cards because they're the first of their kind and the first always matter so there will be wrestlemania patches next year we already know that there'll be summerslam patches we've seen those too but these are the first and like you always want the first and some of them are tied as we've said to historic events i do wanna call out alex thiess who breaker mayfield pulled the jay uso so congratulations congratulations alex i did see the drew mcintyre get pulled i saw jade cargo get pulled i've seen grande americano which is a banger of a card i like that one that was pretty cool so like i mean if you look at guys so like we've we've said like okay randy orton's a three minute match with joe hendrie like he you know won convincingly but that was joe hendrie's wrestlemania debut so you know if joe hendrie goes on to be like a a star and he there's a potential that he could be you know that card becomes that much more important and as far as i know it hasn't been pulled yet but that's the type of stuff that i think is really sort of driven by this chase content and why i think spending so much time here like even the one of one autographs like those acetate cards look great like everything about this is really awesome and oh by the way we haven't even seen like fifty sixty percent of the biggest cards in this product yet which i think could still even like i've seen the dominic mysterio booklet where he's kissing liv and all that other stuff but like and punk's one on one booklet and all these other things but we haven't seen rhea we haven't seen some of these other ones who are known for their crazy shirts that they've worn and all the designs and the skulls and whatever so i think like this is only gonna get better yeah i'm i'm with you and then we're only gonna see more and more surface as more breaks happen this week more you know ripping and stuff like that so i'm curious to see what pops out the cena wrestlemania patrol has gotta be the biggest chase card in the product at this point i think there's no question so that is the biggest what will this thing sell for when it does i would say i would argue that the the the hype around the rock auction the one of one black yep will eke if john cena comes to auction and it's and that's why i'm kind of confused why they're not white glove redemptions i thought they would get more opportunity to list them on fanatics collect where we would be able to sort of like see a legitimate bidding process play out instead of one listed for ten days on ebay but i mean like you know those are the types of situations i expected tops to bring to the party here and unfortunately they chose not to do that for collector's sake it's awesome because you get to open a box and the card is there which is so cool but i think like when that john cena eventually gets pulled and it's it's likely gonna get pulled soon based on historical trends like am very very curious at the same level of curiosity i was about that rock prism like what is this truly going to sell for because i think it's gonna garner a ton my my gut's telling me it's gonna go higher than the rock just because the significance behind it yes he it was on a towel but regardless this was his last wrestlemania his last title win there's too many things behind this patch i would rather own that card than the rock even though the rock is revolutionary imprisonment everything i think that card has got so much valuable to it and i think long term it's just like who knows i i think we could just see a record setting card completely when we see that card go to auction so somebody's gonna listen to this and say like how could you say that this sena you know whatever from royalty is more than okay i am the big one of the biggest prism collectors i have like eight completed rainbows i love prism my entire shiny collection is is anchored by prism i agree with ryan the rock is what like a twenty fifth year card and it's like sure it's an amazing card it's a one of one debut prism black one of one this is tied to one of the most historic events in wrestling history what no one has ever won seventeen titles before john cena is a mount rushmore level guy and he retired after this wrestlemania like this is his last go like there's not many things out there that equal that level of significance and to your point i think if it was me personally this isn't necessarily what the market is gonna say that card feels more important to me than the prism black it does i'm with you i mean it's i've got a prism gold rock from twenty two i'm happy to have that and that's i'd be happy to have both yes we're both happy to have both yeah if i were to rip a case and pull that sena as much as i'm not a big sena guy i would not sell it i would keep it so we wouldn't know then yeah exactly and i revolutionary maybe somebody does decide to go down that path but it's it's likely the price of a ferrari at some point yeah okay good point one other chase car that we really haven't that we really haven't seen yet and the ferrari was a joke by way one other thing that we haven't seen we haven't talked about yet are the the liquid silver and the liquid gold cards which i think well we'll categorize them under chase content it's it's kind of the only case hit that exists in this product those cards were to be debuted in baseball they've made it their way over to ufc i think they were in nba maybe unlicensed and they were in tennis i think as well these are quickly becoming some of the most desirable case hits that tops makes and rightfully so and they're rare they're not cases they're exceptionally rare very very hard to hit so i think from that perspective where you're looking at something like those liquid silver cards and again i'll get to jamison here in a second like he pulled probably three or four of those over the slot that he built because he bought into so many breaks but he's starting to get them in and he's showing me the pictures of the way that they look like i i swear to god they are absolutely gorgeous cards like and now they're gonna be exceptionally condition sensitive and may not grade well but just having those cards to display or keeping your pc or put on your instagram like they stick out in the best way possible yeah i i've never seen one of a person that really wanna see what they look like it's just by seeing the pictures they look gorgeous yeah they look absolutely amazing so james so let's just quickly run through what his day was i know people on the podcast like why do we even care but listen to what this was so he went and he bought a bunch of slots roman cody like roman is his main pc cody he likes a lot as well cena you name it just trying to get some of the cards that he end up getting he pulled like multiple crazy cards he pulled two of the triple signatures for the bloodline i think he won one of them and lost another one like he pulled the cody wrestlemania patch which is probably one of top three maybe top four of the entire set it's probably it's mid five figures at the very minimum just with the inscription it says fourth main event on it he pulled just so many different autographs low numbered stuff like he easily had one of the best days ripping of anybody i've ever seen kept telling to jameson i kept telling him go buy a lottery ticket don't let let this day in i mean it was because he hadn't pulled the cody until that night it was a five case or break and i was in it as well and he text me a picture of the cody and i was like did you just hit that he's like i'm in shock yes i just hit that i'm like oh my gosh what a heater and that ended his day that's how you end your day so congrats to our friend jamison well deserved you deserve it man awesome day you you've invested into these breaks heavily buying these key name slots and it paid off tremendously for you yeah for sure for sure and so like i think for for jameson like it's such a big deal to to have a collector pull this stuff and do the types of things that that he did and you know it's it's awesome it's great to see that and it's something that we have to be able to to to celebrate with them and celebrate alongside them and i think that when we are in a situation where the best people that we are friends with our our our closest group of friends pull these types of things we wanna be very very excited for them along the way and i'm i'm excited for jameson i'm excited for alex too mhmm i i like one of the guys in the group chat that i i work with or i've worked with that i'm talking with he pulled the grande americano one just on a flyer slot like great for these people like be happy for them don't be one of those downers like oh look at it just another big you know money spender you know doing whatever this is a community that's built on excitement and and built on on support and i think that's one of the types of things that i'm really excited when my friends do very well yep and for you sir you've done your fair share of well breaks as well not necessarily for this product but in other times and it's like those are the types of things that you just live for as as a as like we've talked about last week don't collect on an island right don't be the type of person that does this alone do it with your friends for this very reason well i wanna make a point behind that actually and talk about again my day again it's the one thing i'll say about royalty when you buy an orton spot or a rollins you have to you get excited to see a redemption like oh we got a redemption oh we don't have a redemption so i know when they say i don't have a redemption my chances are there however two things i wanna say bless jared came in the room the other day i was in all the royalty breaks and by one random thing i decided to buy the rocket triple h in this case on top of i'm sure randy and and say and uncle howdy and whoever else and in the break i hit a triple h redemption auto i was thrilled i was like perfect awesome hit a triple h to ten for a fifty dollar bounty i paid seventy nine bucks for the spot i bought the rock in one break as a flyer no rock comes out of royalty all of a sudden jared comes to the room and he's it's his first time he's gonna rip it and he's like hey i wanna throw in a breakers to light case for free to everybody in the break i'm in such a great mood i i'm so excited love that i'm leaving work and david hama text me and he's like you might wanna hop back in the room and i'm like in my car going to get my kid and i'm like okay like hang on i pull over to look and i'm like hey i'm here what's going on they're like oh ryan by the way rbi you just hit this rock well i didn't understand that he had threw in the case i thought they were on to ripping a delight case i'm like that's random i bought rock and delight so i hit this rock red refractor autograph redemption for free out of a free case that they throw in that was awesome gotta get them credit also another story and when you mentioned friends late in sports cards i was in all his mixers and you got into several as well yep and i love what they did two royalty two delight two hobby turnbuckle and it was affordable and i basically bought in every break that they did randy roman because jameson didn't so i took my flyers here finn balor for neil wyatt sixx and seth rollins well on one break sunday night i get a text at nine thirty congrats on the finn balor one zero one i'm like what uh-huh what break layton you don't know i'm like no i didn't know they're breaking i hop in the stream they're live so i'm going back in youtube well before i can find where the finn balor is to see it and neil has no idea this time i stumbled across the black geometric to two of randy orton well now i own both randy orton black geometrics to two because leighton pulled one in the er exchange so i like cool because then i see that part i go have a break rbi scroll back more they pulled the finn balor super fractal raw autograph out of a hobby box in the break for neil i buy neil finn spots occasionally because that's his guy and that's what i collect about this hobby that's what i love about this hobby is getting to collect with your friends with your family don't live on an island like adam adam says all the time so i was able to bring joy to my friend calling him at ten o'clock at night and answer and i was like you better wake up you have to wake up right now because i know you go to bed so just to try to tell you why i enjoy breaking wrestling over anything else in giant spots because it's enjoyable and the memories with these cards that are attached to it are just more memorable sorry i went on a tangent but i no wait i got another one because i was hold on a second it's his turn so if my my camera feed probably got jumbled a little bit for a minute and it's because my friend was facetiming me ben johnson who's a you know been one of my close friends for wrestling he's and he's like texting me he's like get on the phone get on the phone and i'm just like what what is going on and i was like i'm recording the podcast like i can't like just hop off he's like and he sends me a picture guess what he just just just now just now well this is live breaking news as we're as we're recording when you're listening to this three days later or four days later yes breaking news as as he's he's like i just pulled the becky lynch one of one autograph it's a like the one of the the single vertical autograph and he's just like i wanted to share it with you live and i'm like that's amazing i'll call you in like twenty five minutes but like can you like that that's the type of stuff that we're talking about like it's great to have this support system and stuff and and i know a lot of people are excited to do this with their friends as well we're not sharing an experience that is is unique in that respect but the thing that like brian's telling this story about how he's had such a great time breaking this and being a part of this experience and then my friend is just texting me saying oh yeah i pulled a a becky lynch one zero one for you so that's that's really cool i'll have to work out a deal with just lie to our list listeners adam you do realize that you do realize you're gonna rush and you're not gonna give us twenty five more minutes you're ready to get off right now to try to figure out how you can get this done i don't know if you can see it oh yeah i could see it okay that's beautiful yeah was it a personal or a break yeah he was ripping cases congratulations ben that's awesome man so i'll work out something with him and i and like that's the other thing so like one last story about collecting on an island i i don't wanna drag this out but it's so we're here for we should talk about this stuff man so one of the like it's been a weird week with ryan's brandi orton card ending up i oh it's not ryan's card but ryan's chase card like the one that he's chasing ending up on ebay mine mine ending up in china like it was just a weird week and i i all of a sudden like midway through the week i start getting messages on reddit and like reddit and me have a love hate relationship when it comes to cards because there's a lot of weird people on in that like to hate me on reddit and that's fine it comes with the territory but i get a lot of messages like hey you gotta go look at this and sure enough i go look and as on one of the threads somebody had posted that they had pulled in a random one hobby box of chrome the becky lynch super fracture garbage pail kids that i mean that's one of my top cards in chrome it's one of the cards i've been looking for for a very long time and it was a really weird day to begin with i'm not gonna go into details but it's just a really weird day so it's like i've posted this card like top sent it to me ahead of the release saying hey this is one you might be interested in to post on twitter and in instagram and everything it's like the card design is out there like people have seen this card they could have just you know used ai to put it in a top loader or whatever but after talking with the guy who obviously was you know just a guy who bought a hobby box because he enjoys wrestling cards pulled this card reached out to me and said hey i wanna make a deal and i'm not talking about this for the sake of the details of that deal but because he lives three hours from port city sports collectibles which jameson is the owner of and we talk about jameson all the time he's cohosted this podcast i called jameson i was like hey can this guy come to this store you take possession of the card you pay him the cash i'll send you all the stuff you know whatever and he's like yeah absolutely not even a question like that's the type of stuff that i think if you are looking for a reason to collect wrestling cards and if you're looking for a reason to be a part of this community it's because there are people like that and it's not just for wrestling they're they're all over sports cards they're just harder to find because there's more people but jameson's one of those guys and he did that for me and i wanna give him a shout out because he's he's doing me a a huge solid on a the most i've ever it's the most valuable becky lynch card in my collection just by sheer value of the deal so it's crazy yeah i'm excited for you man they look great in person i have not obviously shared on here mine obviously real quick to end on that you you had lined up a deal with darius and darius came out here and now i have a lifelong friend darius who i've got to hang out with multiple times darius yeah shout out i just mailed an rva crew seven shirt in his size we just got more he texted me yesterday dude's awesome genuine and that relationship was built because hey adam's like do you mind middle manning a deal he lived about three hours away same situation and that's what it takes man it's just the opportunity and and he was here for hours then came back and hung out with orton took him to dinner you know just texting him talking on the phone that's what this does this is not just wrestling cards it's just the hobby itself and that's why we're here we love it we're passionate about it we get to live this every day you all are the three people listening get to enjoy this you know so again yeah i'm just messed up but no i i i love it i don't think i hope you understand and hear the passion in our voices and the stories that we can tell you know this is a little off script yeah it's a little off script but it's the best kind of off script in it right now but no it's yeah it's awesome man it's just organic and that's why you know we we wanna be ourselves and we always wanna you know show you who we are even if you're listening or watching us this is what you get you know we're we're just two guys passionate about this industry that we love very much we've done this hobby for a long time so we hope you all enjoy it we hope you're enjoying this hobby with friends with family or just yourself but there's people out there that wanna collect with you don't live on an island i i love that reference he uses just don't live on an island yeah and like this was a big tangent it's the best kind of tangent a lot of people are saying it we're saying it but like the the understanding here is like we're we're talking about this because i think the chase content is driving a wedge in some of the areas of our community just because they see the the royalty content as oh it's this really expensive box that only a certain group of people can afford we're telling these stories not because we wanna flaunt and show off what we're doing we we're talking about this as a representation of the relationships that we've built as a result of this hobby and it's it's just wonderful just because we've been on this tangent for so long let's finish the last couple of things ripping experience i'm gonna let you speak first on this one because you had such an awesome time with your kids not the best results in terms of like the no pulling one on ones and crazy cards but if you had to grade the ripping experience outside of what you experienced with your family i'm just showing the picture here because it was so cute what was your what was your grade on the ripping experience maybe talk about some of your own personal cases you've had a chance to to open yeah you know and again i think i touched on this a little bit last week this product honestly was built for breaking it was not built for just you know random people ripping it the market is dictated otherwise now luckily you know we're shop we're approved and we you know i can get these in a better price so that's why i was like hey i wanna enjoy a case with my family the best part about this case no we didn't hit a home run we hit an orton but my kid my youngest blake he pulled a joe gacy autograph card relic and it had a he was wearing the pig suit the pig outfit and the next day blake was talking with this card for days can you bring my piggy card back home daddy i want my piggy card well i was like i had to take it in to get sleep in toppers so he calls his piggy card and then i brought it home and he just literally has a display now can can you get me more piggy cards i'm like well he's part of the y at six so i'm sure your brother can give you some but that was a moment now my kid is a fan of joe gacy not only i had explained to him you met joe gacy yeah i didn't mean to guy that's the guy that's not piggy guy blakey it's he's five years old so experience of the things i get to do we have we call them family rip parties you know family rip nights whatever you wanna call it you know is why i love this you know i'm very fortunate to do this obviously because of my business that allows me to do this but again you know we're ripping if we get some pc cards great then the business sells it so reverting back this product was built to be an eight hundred hour box srp because clearly we saw what they put it out for this was not built to be a fifteen sixteen seventeen hundred dollar box so keep that in mind now market in demand has dictated that you cannot touch boxes right now maybe for fourteen on ebay if you're lucky but most time you're paying you know fifteen sixteen plus and the more that these get ripped the the the and some of these other patch holders don't come out the the main ones it's gonna continue to go up so keep in mind if you're ripping this and you're willing to buy a box and not join a break just in your head go hey i wanna do this because i wanna rip one of these and say i got to do it if you go with expectations that you're gonna hit a monster you basically have to hit a one zero one or something insane for you to even get your money back at the prices that threat because you got the fillings you got the tozalas you've got the otises you got the omas you've got some autographs here that aren't gonna bring your money back but reverting back this is a perfect type of break product if you're into buying wrestling wrestlers in breaks and animal contestants this product was built for that i love it i would rather just buy the few wrestlers i want to try to pull and then just say hey i didn't get anything i got kicked in the balls but i didn't drop six to seven k to rip a case and not you know try to pull one of those guys so that is my honest take on it i love the product overall but just keep in mind if you've got money to throw around then sure rip it but be conscious of what you're ripping at the current prices yeah i i i put this at at a psa one for for the ripping oh i didn't even give it a grade but go ahead yeah i just give you my thoughts so i i think the only reason i'm putting it at that is because of the price it costs and and it's more driven by demand and everything but i think the structure of this product was not built correctly i think like the cards inside when you hit something big it's gonna be the biggest that there is but if you don't hit that and it's pretty often given the size of the print run the ripping experience here is so negative it just feels awful and i've watched cases you've watched cases that just continue box after box after box like just you know it's just not delivering and it's just and because it's not flawless where every case has sina hogan undertaker twice not once twice yep in a in a brief case not just in a specific case it's an ornate yes presentation not environmentally friendly but it's an an ornate case and like you get the inner box you get the the gem cards like it is meant to be flawless and people have built an expectation around that transcendent when you opened transcendent which was twenty six oh i'm sorry it was sixteen thousand dollars per box you got fifty autographs you got two complete sets you got the belts you got the funkos you got all this stuff like it was built to be ripped in a on a video like ryan was explaining this doesn't break like that and i think that's a mistake i think tops obviously has an expectation to hit a budget and stuff like that they can't make every product like that there was never a design for it to be like that that is a seven hundred and fifty dollar box of cards not sixteen thousand so i mean like transcendent sixteen hundred well now it is but it was built to be seven fifty but like when you open transcendent baseball like you've opened that you've seen the briefcase that comes in and how ornate that presentation is with all the the cuts and everything like that that's not what this is meant to be so to ryan's point like you're not gonna have the same experience as if you were ripping those other products and so i think like as we get into some of these discussions where the community is literally if if you have somebody that was already experiencing the fomo of the chase cards they're upset that it costs as much as it does and this is the value you get out of it their voices are gonna be that much louder because the ripping experience is so poor you pull liv morgan you're not also gonna pull roman reigns you're done you pull you pull rhea ripley you're not also pulling somebody else and in flawless you can do that and in and in transcendent you get everybody in immaculate you had opportunities where you would pull somebody big and right behind it is a redemption for a dual autograph or something like that that type of stuff unless you hit the one on ones which you've told me really isn't happening as much in royalty now the the case in which the jade cargill wrestlemania patch was pulled that case was cracked man like it had two rhea ripley's it had roman reigns it had the wrestlemania patch like there are loaded cases that are out there that feel like the ripping experience you would expect but the perception here is everything and then it starts getting into the chat and the chat's not buying the slots as quickly because they're so afraid that they can spend four hundred dollars on a rhea ripley slot and hit absolutely nothing and i think that's where the ripping experience of this product is gonna be a negative at the cost that it is right now if this was seven hundred fifty dollars a box you and i have both said this is a home run grand slam everything hundred thousand bucks yeah because like this is such a good looking well designed awesomely executed product unfortunately that's not the circumstances we live in so i had to give it a very low no no and i and great great points you made on this one again it's the some of these a hits that they call per box in our eyes aren't a hits you're not gonna get two a hits unless you hit like a wrestlemania patch auto or maybe a one zero one that you classify as an a hit how i would basically put this in terms rip this is like ripping tops chrome delight w w twenty five my my experience with it my ripping was i ripped fifteen twenty cases and i was like my percent it's gotta get better it's gotta get better it's gotta get better fast forward to twenty six oh my gosh unload it it's so good to rip this right here has the feel like i feel like every time i rip a personal box there's gotta be something there there's gotta be on another one and i just haven't had that yet and i think it goes to what adam said if you get roman that's it you're not gonna get another big name unless it's a relic one zero one or something like that and i think that's something that hopefully in twenty six that they fix and make a chances to get more hey couple a hits or you get an a and like three b hits instead of like an a and like c c c c d d d you know let's however they rank the wrestlers or whoever so i think that's something to consider going into twenty six builds i do wanna say for ripping i will say my favorite breaks to get in have been the latent type format where they've done two boxes james does those too yeah i love that yes yeah run good cards yeah that's that's the way you should put this product in perspective how it's a break it is by adding other elements i know mikey b cards is gonna do one and get some other wwe because i joined breaks with him i'm like dude as long as you do mixers i'm more prone to take a shot to buy some other wrestlers because i know i have an opportunity that's the way i think this product should be built versus the skunks that there's a lot of skunks in this product because you have so so many spots let's be honest seen and the random wrestler stuff like oh god like you're watching people like take a flyer on the slack good for them like if they hit like the guy who like the pure sports cards who hit the grande americano like good for him man i'm happy for him it's awesome but like if you're taking a flyer and you're hitting twenty seven dollars and it's and it's you know ria ripley great if you're spending a hundred dollars on random wrestlers which happened like and hitting akira tozawa like that's just as bad and it's like and these the breakers are that are doing that on a wheel spin or whatever are doing that because they recognize the challenge of filling some of these low end slots and i think like that's where the ripping experience really does need to improve and i know tops is very aware of this like like they're not immune to seeing the the feedback and i think they they grasp exactly what's going on but i mean they're they're kinda slave to the format of of what they've built here so yeah i'm not giving this a high grade i think it's probably my i i i'm putting this at a one because i've sat through those cases man and the chat just completely revolts like it's just it is everything you hate about watching a breaker trying to pump up these cards that are worth very little comparatively to the extreme cost of this box better checklist tighter break formats more randomization better sort of collation across it's hand packed i would guess so they should have control over that if it's something of a budgetary issue find other ways to cut costs and include more of those experiential types of things where it gives the collector the experience of being a part of the product being opened rather than just hey let's click open this box and the pack's there right mhmm most alright overall grade i'm curious if you had to give this one through ten where where are sitting right now if i look at it from a perspective i take the ripping cost out of the you know i i if i depending how you look at it if i wanna take the market out of it if i just look at solely as a product i think this is a nine but if you take the market that it's dictating now feel like it's closer to a six because of the price point so take out the market if it's built with that and you're ripping it and you're looking at the cards what they are it's a nine if you're kept factoring what they are trending at now it's like a six i mean just because the price point it's it's too expensive but that's that's the day and age we live in right now people that is topscript football should never get to the prices it got to we can go on a story all day and all these other sports all these products that get super high because of hype behind it but that's what we're dealing with right now this is the height train this is an easy breaking type product it was not readily available off the gate to wave one through shops and breakers it was limited amount so there is a wave two going out i'm assuming depending on how much gets out we could see a shift but overall like i love the product i love what it stands for but i don't love the price i don't i hate the price i hate charging a customer over fifteen hundred dollars for a box i don't want i i've already warned my customers before they rip it i literally told the one guy hey i paid this to buy it i'll make fifty bucks on the rebuy i'm just telling you it's if you wanna rip one because you generally wanna rip one that's great and that was my customer nick who at the becky lynch that you did a deal with matt yeah and and he was cool he happy he had a cool scene and he was happy he didn't care about the money he cared about hey i wanted the experience to rip one of these i he was happy and that's what i care about is making a better experience for my customers when they rip a product but again it was built to be half the price so again i i had to give it a couple angles and that's my perspective on it yeah i'm with you on the nine i think it's a nine if you take out the price and the ripping experience with the ripping experience i put it at a seven for main event when i wrote that article earlier this week and i think like it's hard to argue that it's better than a six or a seven given the circumstances that are surrounding it but if you take the it's like it's like if you take the worst part out of it it's a nine like i mean well you kinda gotta factor all of that in it's part of the the whole thing the cards are the best that tops can put out there they did a great job putting their best foot forward if it the chase is if it was just a product built around those chase cards again let's take the worst parts out of it and let's talk about the best like those chase cards give is is like a ten we talked about that it's a black label but because of all these other factors that you have to think about generally i put chrome at a nine i put this at a seven like chrome even though it's very expensive for what you get it just feels different because the ripping experience is so much different right yeah and one thing to go with royalty and i'm gonna end on this and i want listeners and you to you to understand this i ripped a ton of tennis royalty i'm not a huge tennis guy i do follow little tennis i like it but it was at a price point where i was ripping at five six seven hundred dollars a box and the cards look great and i was like at this price point i'll rip it all day long and that's what i was doing and then obviously it dried up it started going up i stopped ripping i'm not a big ufc guy i'll watch them so that's why i didn't rip in ufc not gonna rip the basketball just not for me but i ripped the tennis because of the price point if wwe was at that price point i would just be ripping like crazy i wouldn't stop but we would be recording as we always we'd just be ripping yeah we'd be ripping but i can't justify paying you know thirteen fourteen fifteen hundred dollars a box now and rip this stuff and not feel good about it and that's me coming from a as a shop owner and as a collector i i would love to rip more of this but i would rather go rip tops chrome wb delight i'd rip two boxes of that and versus ripping one of these i would do that all day right now it's the same amount of autographs you get more of the you get low number parallels that are gonna be exceptionally valuable cards yes like that that is a really good way of putting it yeah i would say the community you know the narrative here is is always gonna skew negative it just it for everyone it doesn't matter but i think this is overwhelmingly negative in certain areas of like the more fringe sort of social media hubs because people get weird when money gets up like when things get overheated people get weird like it was that way in twenty twenty two when prism came out like there was a huge divide in the community like these cards aren't autographed why are they worth forty thousand dollars like all those other things like there's just a general lack of understanding in some areas of the hobby because they don't have that same experience of dealing with it in football or in basketball or in baseball and in a lot of ways that's what makes the wrestling card community that much better is because they don't have that experience and they can circle around the cards that really speak to them as a collector and but you and i having done this for as many years as we have like we have all that in the back of our minds so we're assigning more value to that experience and difference so i think that's where there there's gonna be a lot of negativity here and there was a lot of shade thrown my way too just because we were so hyped about it like i'm hearing people on stream saying like oh gellman's on his thing like telling about everybody's how this is the greatest product ever like we were very realistic on on on this podcast i thought i was very fair on twitter i said it was gonna be a kick in the nuts at fifteen hundred bucks a box when it was last week i said this last week when i told you guys covered this very fairly we're very excited about it clearly you can hear it in our voices how how much we enjoyed this but we're not stupid like we know that ninety five percent of the hobby is not gonna be able to engage sixteen hundred a box maybe even ninety nine so i think like it's it's not fair for people to say this product should be completely thrown in the trash it's not fair for people to say the chase cards in here are not gonna be that much more desirable because they come out of an expensive box that's why the box is expensive so i think like for for the the collecting base to recognize this is the first time we've seen a true super premium product released in wrestling since flawless so we're talking two years and look at how much the market has changed in those two years since the end of twenty twenty four to now we have seen exponential growth there is a parabolic graph on cardladder for that very reason so things are very different flawless cases now are ten thousand dollars right ten fifteen thousand dollars over that my distributor i checked the other day they want like twelve five for a case now yeah so it's between ten and fifteen thousand dollars there's there is a reality in the future down the road where it could this could get there especially if the big cards aren't pulled i think it'll take a little bit longer than we originally expected because the the the ripping experience has been generally negative but at some point in the future when most of this has dried up like there could be a a world where we see ten thousand dollar cases of this floating around right yeah i mean we're already at six thousand plus right now and one thing to go with the flawless is i love flawless i think it's one of the greatest ever to be made i wish it could be event worn i have several flawless cards i ripped more cases than i wanna admit but i did it at a time where it was made sense and not twelve five a case but put in perspective what is at this point the roman hasn't surfaced what's the highest selling one the stone cold logo i think that we know of fifteen sixteen k okay encina i think encina maybe okay so the orton right now is already and i'm not bidding is that tuesday we're recording at sixteen thousand dollars right now with it doesn't end for another six days we're gonna be seeing record breaking numbers for modern cards for particular wrestlers that we've ever seen in any other product even flawless so put that in perspective as much as we both love flawless and i wish we got more flawless it's unfortunate it's gone but we're gonna see these wrestlers wrestlemania patches autos so for record breaking numbers for that particular wrestler and there's no question behind it i am curious to see what orton goes for i'm curious to see where these other ones go to market at and obviously the big one cena so you can't rip flawless and know you're gonna get a potential twenty five thirty thousand hour card outside the roman that has not surfaced and even then that's probably what fifteen twenty thousand at this time it's it's high end yeah high end so and you're gonna pay that much to try to pull that card no i mean like again it's a tough rip but flawless at twelve thousand five hundred dollars is an insane not good rip is like the worst but it yes again the the market dictates it's it's dried up so again as much as people wanna say oh well they're they're all high on this no we we're heavily invested in this product him and i joined so many breaks same as jameson same as sam that's not hold on a second hold on a second let's not go that i don't wanna make it seem like we're hyping this product to no no i'm trying to say i'm not trying to do that that's what i'm not trying we were heavily invested in this product because we wanted a chance to pull the cards we wanted he wanted the becky i wanted the orton jamison wanted the cody he got the cody he wanted a roman one zero ones you know people are invested in this product because it is the most exciting thing since flawless we have not had this type of rip so again it sucks that the market's at what it's at but it's generating some beautiful cards here i mean that tiffany's friend what did that liquid gold go for ten k wasn't that we're gonna talk about that yes let's get on to that yes i didn't even know it was too nice ten thousand dollars and that was segue was that a best offer or is that just hit at ten best best oh best offer liquid silver gold tiffany stratton already sells at market for ten thousand dollars not even the biggest name in the set she's probably one of the lower names in the set at this point which is crazy to say that for her but yes it's it's but yeah that's this is the reality we live in now is that wrestling cards are on the map they're worldwide i mean becky was pulled in china correct yes i mean there's people ripping wrestling across the world things are different this isn't before panini built things this is this is just it's changed everything's changed you know yeah yeah and i think like i like people are gonna listen to this they're gonna hear us going the direction that we've gone in for rightfully so because we love this stuff we are passionate about wrestling cards and like if you're trying to read between the lines and say oh these guys are shills and whatever you can't ever be too positive about something in this hobby without catching heat and you can't be too negative without being called a hater so i mean like there's there's a very rare ability to toe the line but we are very much on the positive side of this because the cards are gorgeous and that's what we collect and this aligns almost like a puzzle piece into my collection into your collection into a lot of people's collections those are very valuable collections because our collecting style is very popular so i think like it's not saying that everybody else is wrong it's just saying that that's why people do what we do and we're trying to tell you these stories and the sale of this tiffany stratton at ten thousand dollars or these other ones which i'm gonna fast forward through here now where you have the liquid silver tiffany stratton at twenty five hundred you have kendall gray at fifteen hundred for an auto relic you have a penta at nine hundred dollars for like wow a ten out of shocked me that one did not see that one coming yeah so i mean like you've got a lot of people hunting for these cards because they see how cool they look it's all event news like we're telling you these stories not because we wanna prop up our own collection but because we're passionate about the space and they've aligned so much with how we collect and we're gonna catch heat for that they're gonna talk about on every you know negative thing that they can to throw at us saying hey they've got a platform they whatever i i get it like we we we're not immune to this understanding because we're not stupid but we also recognize that from a tops perspective they put the best of the best into this product and they delivered i mean the sales are showing it like look at like obafemi like a an out of ninety nine sold for three hundred and fifty dollars tatum paxley an out of five sold for six hundred and fifty dollars a kendall gray dual relic sold for four hundred and twenty five dollars it's even autographed like it's her rookie duel relic like those are the types of things that i know is gonna drive a wedge in a lot of different areas that's that's that's what makes this hobby great is you can collect however you want this is how we collect and it's something that i think we're both very excited about this product as a result and i think a lot of people in the market are agreeing with us right yeah i'll be honest with you i i have not done any research as far as sales go thank you adam for doing that and this is just shocking to me i mean i hit obafemi and brandon's break i hit the relic auto and i'm thrilled i think these relic autos between that and universe that from this past year are ones to put back of almost any wrestler but several key wrestlers because of what they are i'll be holding a lot of my royalty like i hold my flawless star swatches i've got a ton of those those are not event used but let's talk about those look at the numbers those are bringing now yeah not a good use selling at like five thousand dollars for like a base one yeah i but hey i love i love sam steve i sold him my gold he needed that one i moved it to the national last year and that was my last ria and i and then obviously speaking of jameson he got two or three and a a deal he had a orton one zero one and seth one zero one's i needed so so i woulda held them they woulda been there but those are my friends and i would do things like that for anybody i'm friends with so yeah that's all i we i was gonna do a title match topic but we covered it already it was already covered in the podcast and i think guys if there's one thing that you take away from this podcast this particular episode is that there is no wrong answer in a lot of these areas and i know that that's a participation medal or a participation ribbon but it's something that is so important to recognize that just because we're all in on this product we were all in on chrome we'll be all in on a lot of different things that tops is doing because we love wrestling cards and we love what tops has done so far doesn't mean that it's something that you have to be forced to to agree with us like we welcome the discussion we welcome the dissension we wanna have these conversations on the podcast and we wanna do it in a manner that provides information to the community and i think when we get to the national come find us come tell us your feedback send your feedback to book to last podcast at g mail dot com let us know what your thoughts are maybe we can read a few of them on the air next time and maybe we'll do a a listener q and a i'm trying to arrange a guest here for next week as well like i think like all of this stuff we wanna open this discussion with our own views but we also want to involve the community to take your views as well so book to last podcast at g mail dot com also we have our party coming up at the national we're gonna mention that a lot i wanna call out that we are in the process of locking down everybody who's involved with it we have about six or seven people that are gonna help us bring this party to life we will talk about that hopefully sometime next week or the week after because there's so much that we have to to you know give them their props for for helping the community in this way we're gonna cover that for wrestling card takeover coming up here very shortly give them an opportunity to tell their stories too so i mean like again this is meant to be for you guys for the community and i hope that coming out of an hour and fifteen minutes worth of discussion around royalty like at least gave you some nuggets it may not have changed your mind on anything it may not have given you exactly what you were looking for there are other podcasts to listen to as well like go listen to card foundation go listen to the other podcast so you get that surround sound that's why this content exists and i know you know everybody out there who makes content does a great job telling their own story this is ours thank you to everybody who continues to listen and continues to tune in we appreciate it and we're gonna continue to do stuff like this we'll we'll hopefully do some fun stuff next week talking about sapphire is supposed to i believe come out on friday so like well or maybe eql stuff like that eql yes but windows two it's already been out yeah so i think like we'll have some feedback on sapphire we'll we'll obviously get into cosmic we'll talk about backlash there's gonna be a ton of stuff it's gonna be awesome this summer is jam packed so yeah don't mind any closing thoughts yeah one thing to go is so when he when he's saying to disagree okay we're we're both happily married and we we get disagreed upon a lot i'm sure know i do i'm sure he does so we're very aware yeah you don't have to agree with our opinions i mean like there's times where i don't agree with ad's opinion and vice versa i mean it's it's i'm just ryan master i'm just i'm just me i'm just a guy i'm just a guy who loves cards loves the hobby loves wrestling i i got a platform to give my opinion you can like it or not i don't i'm not i try to stay positive in everything i'm very me too positive i try to find the positive even in negatives of course there's a lot to be happy and positive about this product and other products but there's gonna be negatives and the market dictates that so again we hope you enjoyed i had a blast today was yeah this was lot of fun is a lot of fun i think it was more just organic off script like hey we're just gonna give our thoughts and and again i think it's because we've had phone call conversations over the past you know since friday but not to the point where we could really dive into this and this was our opportunity to really talk even with each other because like this has been rapid fire for us like break after break like it's good to talk to somebody about it for a while it's text messages but weekends are busy we got kids we got sports so this was our chance to finally talk about it so i had a lot of fun i hope the listeners enjoyed today so yeah don't forget we've got you know book the last contact us give us feedback like if you want us to bring up a question or an opinion i love that do that i we'll be happy to talk about it on the air also we've got it's nashville's gonna be here before you know it i mean there's a lot going on to stay till over the guys so little time we got so much to get on it neil was asking her today about the shirts i said we're gonna get on it so so yeah and rest of the car takeover is happening we'll talk more about that but no a lot of fun has a wonderful weekend enjoyed backlash this weekend backlash gotta say it right triple h style so but no i've had a lot of fun today at backlash yeah at backlash so yeah it's good alright man that's it for now thank you everybody for sticking through it and again congratulations to all the people who who pulled the cards that they did man what an exciting experience for them we will come back next week and until then we'll see you later hey gulps see you later
