it's episode six yes it is adam what's up man how are doing it has been a very very busy week as usual i feel like you know we get on these podcasts and we get to just you know disconnect from the world we've said a a lot of times like you know this is an opportunity for us to sort of have our time and and really just chat about wrestling and wrestling cards so this week has been insane man like our fiscal year work ended last week so like this week is setting everything up for this year so it's it's been crazy how about you yeah the past thirty six hours have been interesting to say the least between the family and the work and everything my son but we're good now and i was looking forward to this moment because i knew once i got to here all the stuff that i dealt with the past thirty six hours was done and this is my reward i've got no watch on no phone on nothing on the outside world matters when i'm on here i love this i've actually decided because for those of you that watch i just realized today this chair goes up higher so i don't feel like i'm frodo anymore because i'm six three and i'm watching the i like see the video and i'm like man i feel so short but i didn't know this chair went this high so i'm actually excited so no great to be back episode six got a great show i think we're finally getting in our rhythm here we're i think we're both kind of in sync with this just two guys that are friends that get to talk to this so we hope everybody enjoys this podcast we've been doing yeah i think my vision coming into this podcast was like imagine the conversation what was it i just saw what you did there the vision yeah the vision yeah i my vision for this was always like you go to a card shop you're sitting around ripping packs and you're having conversations with your friends like that's basically what this is so like just we're recording it so you get to you get to enjoy ryan and i sort of spouting off on wrestling and wrestling cards for an hour each week let me share my screen here for those watching on patreon and we will we'll get going with the opening pyro we'll go through just some of the the the happenings quickly from from the week of wrestling we'll get into some listener q and a which i found to be very interesting cannot wait for cannot wait for some of these questions because if you're i didn't i didn't see any of these questions so i'm actually pretty excited on my hand you obviously have so i i'm going in the blind here which i love this is gonna be so much fun and then we'll get into a title match topic which ryan gave me sort of a a feeler topic for for what we'll discuss and i'm excited to do that we'll talk about that at the end of the show hopefully we'll have a few minutes to to do that but man it has you know i i think this this structure of pay per views have previously it was like you have the royal rumble then you have two pay per views and then you have wrestlemania this is like you've got wrestlemania literally right after elimination chamber which is right after the royal rumble and you know they are going like fast and furious we had some qualifying matches start for the elimination chamber on both raw and smackdown this past week randy as of today randy orton tiffany stratton qualified on last or two weeks ago smackdown from the time you guys are listening in this and la knight and rhea ripley qualified on monday i i like i don't think there was any surprises in these matches like they kind of booked themselves into a very easy outcome thankfully so no one was really in these matches that just like couldn't lose or couldn't take a pin like they've done in the past so i think randy and tiffany were easy choices for for smackdown i think la knight and rhea ripley easy choices for those matches on raw what do you so like if so based on six people in each match like where do you see this going i i i believe that this is likely gonna decide jade cargill's opponent at wrestlemania and it will likely decide drew mcintyre's opponent at wrestlemania so what who do you think rounds out the field here like what's your what's your thought process so far so how many more matt we gotta do is it is it five people in each elimination chamber no four left there's four left okay no i'm saying okay so six total i'm really there's a couple ways i can go with this obviously now with the broad breaker injury that throws a curveball like crazy so do we see a logan paul type of there because right now you have two faces on the men so that's one do you see a trick williams in here because they're giving him a big push right now i don't know obafemi i mean i don't know it's just a matter of are they wanting to put those you know those men or women in this opportunity to where they are gonna obviously you know well but one are gonna fall short so i i do wish that they would finally give chelsea green the big push he deserves i know i know obviously tiffany stratton is amazing she's incredible and i know you're a big fan but man chelsea green has just performed so well huge fan of chelsea too though like one of these days we're gonna get it so i don't know which direction that they're gonna go at this point i mean my hope is still on that randy orton gets that but i don't i don't know does ellie knight finally get the push i think we're gonna round out with a couple places but i think the bron breakker injury definitely shakes everything up completely what happens next because i don't think you were gonna get bron breakker and drew mcintyre but still he would be in that i would think yeah i would have expected that they probably tell that story in the elimination chamber where he gets eliminated by this masked man and maybe even they unveil who that is at elimination chamber he wasn't gonna face drew mcintyre don't think that was the plan i think the the plan likely seemed to be seth rollins versus him and that still could happen i guess the injury that he has we'll talk about here in a second but like i would really like to see him versus rollins at wrestlemania i think that'd be a huge match we'll see if he can make it back in time both of them really can make it back in time but yeah i i would say like if it's not randy orton it's gonna be cody rhodes and i have i like i just don't have any desire to see drew mcintyre and cody rhodes again like i i really don't and i think if it's randy orton and drew mcintyre i think that's a a great match i think it's a great lead up i think they'll have a month to build it coming out of elimination chamber maybe a little bit longer i i really like that i think cody rhodes is kind of like trying to like find a new path forward and i don't think he's gonna beat drew mcintyre so i think drew mcintyre probably walks out of mania with a champion but yeah i like the smackdown side of this whole thing has been a little bit of a train wreck for a while but i'd like to see la knight get a shot man that would be great yep on the women's side kinda you were already calling it out like i i hope i would love to see chelsea but they need like so like on the men's side they usually have like the big tank like there's some tank that can run through the glass do that spot every year i i have a feeling that's gonna be obafemi or brock side they have to have somebody who's like what was that or brock lesnar somebody like that or brock lesnar yeah yeah on the on the women's side i think they need a high flyer so i'm sure eo will be added to the match or somebody of that nature trick williams would be a great add on the men's side like you mentioned so yeah i i i'm i'm on the same page with you i'm i think we'll find out pretty quickly who the match participants are gonna be they already have the other two matches on the card it'll be becky lynch and aj lee and then centimeters punk versus finn balor obviously both of them are working the chicago show aj and centimeters punk not a shock there i was my only thing for you was do you think doing becky versus aj at elimination chamber in chicago versus at wrestlemania is the right call no i don't think it's the right call i think it should have saved it to mania built up the story even though it's it's been a long enough story and their feud i think what better way to end that feud would be at mania just one on one feud because obviously last year had the you know the the tag team match whenever they had that so no i think i get why they did it you like he's put it best there lemonnae schaebler is in chicago that's centimeters punk aj lee's there but again i i know from my standpoint need to be a mania match i'm sure you would agree with me on this yes i i think so too i would have done a tag match here i would have done like becky lynch and somebody versus aj lee and another woman not the mixed tag match like do another tag match i know people would be like well we we didn't need to do another tag match or whatever but save that singles match for wrestlemania give aj lee a chance to work in chicago absolutely needs to happen that i don't disagree with but doing this match then because either you have to take the belt off of becky so it could have been like becky and natty versus maxine dupree and aj lee which is what i thought they were gonna do but i guess and then you could have natty turn on becky because she's just like this lone wolf but you know it's like i i don't know like becky could have lost that tag match again so she now she's down three to one and then beaten aj lee at at wrestlemania to keep the title if that's the direction they wanna go i don't think putting this title on aj lee is a good idea it doesn't fit what she what her role is on the show anymore and it doesn't really give her the opportunity to sort of do some of the things i think everybody wants her to do which is number one end this feud with becky lynch the right way but also move on to some other people that i think they wanna see her wrestle so i think if she's got this title and she's only showing up for a few shows a year which makes sense given her role coming into this then then do that but don't put a title on her i think you're already gonna potentially put a title on roman reigns so like having two part time champions on the raw show just doesn't really make sense so then in terms of centimeters punk versus finn balor i think that's a throwaway match something crazy is gonna happen i don't know what maybe they do a judgment day breakup at that i they they'll have to do something but that that that finishes that title match there's gotta be a point behind it obviously and yeah and and i know there you go neil i said finn bauer said it for you he said make sure you talk about finn bauer on the podcast today because that's the point so yeah i feel like there there has to be the judgment day blow up with finn leaving it's just been kinda hinted to that for a while and then he was showing signs of going face then went back to being a full heel so i feel like that has gotta be the reason why we're having this match or because obviously punk is in chicago he needs to compete obviously well yeah and i don't who else are you gonna put up against him that isn't gonna be in the elimination chamber or isn't like brian breaker's injured so he can't he can't do it there and like i don't know this seems like the right call it's just like it can't be like everybody knows that balor is not beating centimeters punk if he does that would throw everything into disarray in a in a really bad way so i don't think that's happening so let's talk about bron breaker really fast because we've kinda covered all the rest of the angles here do you think that there's i mean he's injured mhmm there he had a hernia surgery coming out of raw and like i guess when he flipped over the table he exacerbated an injury that was already sort of nagging him who knows i mean like there could be any million of reasons why he ended up with a hernia yeah but there was surgery that was done he's gonna be out i think the minimum was like twelve weeks or or six weeks or whatever it is so they hope to have him back by wrestlemania i hope they do does this impact his card market knowing that he's potentially gonna miss the biggest show of the year i mean if he if it does impact it please sell to me i'll buy him i mean the kids got me this is the long term game i mean these guys and women you know more more men or less can wrestle a very long time i mean this guy is set to be the future there's no question all the signs are there so if you're wanting to sell on the potential dip right now of him i would highly advise not doing that i think right now if people are dumping him and you see a decline one opportune time to go buy it because this guy was coming off of head full steam and then it makes you wonder was this nagging injury there at rumble why he was eliminated so fast why was that there before yeah i think i read somewhere that that wasn't the case and that he was just like it it just was a nagging injury that's been going on and now it's just full blown like need surgery but yeah i i i didn't i saw somebody specifically call that out and they didn't seem to mention that it was the royal rumble why he didn't work it yeah no i think i think right now i mean i i don't think it affects that much because like you said what eight to twelve weeks something like this it is not like a a six month injury yeah so it's a total go i'm buying i'm buying braun breaker i've been buying braun breaker i was gonna move a lot of them after the royal rumble but then when he wasn't gonna win i held them back again he's like twenty two or twenty three or whatever like this guy's gonna be wrestling until he's fifty so look i don't think there's any real i don't think there's any real risk to broadbreaker not being a superstar in wwe i think if if we get to wrestlemania next year and he hasn't been champion there's been something major that has happened but i think he's on his way there i think he's probably like roman reigns clearly is gonna take the belt off punk at mania i think by the time we get to summerslam it's gonna be bron breakker versus roman reigns i think bron walks out with the title let's go on to some card market high spots just talking about things that i know we're we're all excited to do i have our first item of business which is coming up here very shortly in about two weeks top trip night twenty twenty six is happening on february twenty first if you're following along on patreon i have the the one of the photos from ryan's old shop before they moved to to move before they moved into their new you know digs here but ryan just because this is so such an important event for you at rbi crew seven do you wanna just sort of walk everybody through like what is tops rib night what is it gonna be and and sort of like what's been your experience over the last couple of times that you guys have done it yeah tops rip by i mean thanks again to tops for putting this on and creating this years ago this used to be a two time a year event now it's one so all hands on deck we had just a meeting with our top stuff today so a lot of good vibes already coming out of it they've been sending us a bunch of stuff to put up we actually just order our posters that we custom make but this is a big event this is big for collectors this is a night event at our shop we do this from five fifteen till nine we close at five we got fifteen minutes to get everything essentially new shop is all set up but we just get fifteen minutes to form that line outside we wanna give everybody an opportunity to get some free packs chances with some prizes every hour on the hour between six seven and eight we will give away we'll do pack wars which actually this year we're adding the extra hour because we used to open at six now we're opening at five fifteen so we do pack wars you get free pack to to join that and we give away prizes then we do on specials but this is opportunity for all these collectors to come in house not just here but from my understanding today said it gets twenty countries are gonna be competing if i heard that correctly across the world which is just awesome kudos to tops there are a ton of athletes going out to shops they are going to let those shops know here in the coming days into next week then i don't know as far as that goes when those shops are allowed to announce that that is up to tops and them but fingers crossed they're working on somebody for us we came very close to somebody last year who hears voices like i do but fell through last second so we're hoping something big could happen this year but we don't know however again this is just an amazing night all around it's big for shops it's big for collectors tops does so much social media with this they put so much time effort and energy into this aj and her team are awesome so we are we're excited for this we look forward to this every year and now that it's our first time in the new shop it just makes us even better yeah you guys were so like if you hadn't been to ryan's shop before and i'm guessing most of you probably haven't because you know this podcast reaches so many different areas i mean the shop was big for a card shop but it wasn't big for an event like this and like now they have a shop that has grown what is it triple quadruple in space just on the floor space alone yes and it's just like enormous space you'll have a lot more room to to participate but i think there's a lot of like reasons why this is a huge event as ryan was saying not just for the stores that run it because obviously topps wants to make sure that their partners and and shops do have a night like this to celebrate but also for collectors because last year like there were a quite there were quite a few wwe superstars out and about i think i think i saw charlotte flair seth rollins like i mean these were the biggest names they had yep it's not some jobber that's working you know main event it is like a main event the show that they put on netflix or whatever in the at two am in the morning like these are their main event stars going out to to stores they interact with you they're ripping packs they're doing social media it's really big for wrestling cards i i i think wwe is gonna be probably featured quite a bit all over again by the time this happens i think we'll be a week out from universe which is unfortunate because i know you would love to have universe in shop but maybe they send some of that along with the wrestlers knowing that it's a week away from release knows it's possible the the good news is today on the active up to date calendar with topps it is still on schedule for the twenty seventh for wwe universe so that has not changed if it were to change it's in red so right now we're good to go there but yeah so hopefully we're gonna see a lot of big names there was tiffany stratton there was cooper last year sami zayn the miz you know owens yeah miz pulled a at burbank he pulled the rock autograph i did a i respect him that's so good yeah i i hope that you know if your shop does get a local you know an athlete or a wrestler that you definitely take advantage of it go to that opportunity from my understanding it's a very short window this time they're only required to be there less than thirty minutes if they wanna stay longer that's on them so it is a very short time and i a lot of times it's on the athlete when they get there so they may have a time set could change but again kudos to tops for doing that it's awesome it does not cost the shops anything to bring in that athlete that is all on tops' dime and everything that they do so again an amazing event all around for the hobby for the collectors and we're just thoroughly excited to be a part of it every year yeah it sounds awesome i i usually have to to schlep kids in between sports so i can't make it usually during during the the nights that they've had in the past maybe this year will be different i've wanted to go a number of times but it gets so insanely busy at some of these places that it's tough to to support waiting in line for an hour and stuff but i i like if there was a like i think last year in minneapolis they had kevin hart or somebody was was out at the shop that for minneapolis which was awesome and i wish i could do it i just with all the kids like they're not gonna they're not gonna enjoy being it feels becky lynch you would make it happen you would a hundred percent make it happen if becky lynch was in minnesota oh i'm tiffany stratton you would make an appearance you'd be like you know what kids you're on your own today i gotta go meet you bye see you later so yeah i think like overall like really exciting time so really kind of a light news week overall like i think we're sort of gearing up for for the the stuff that's coming in the next couple of weeks with with universe so we we put out a bat signal here asking people to send in some questions and i will say like i i we got we got some good ones i'm excited let's go and some of them i i couldn't i couldn't do but others we we well how why couldn't you do those little an impact between now and the national convention in chicago ryan i'll let you start here if you had to pick one wrestler that you are feeling is gonna have a big impact between now and the summer who's who's your money on so now until the nationals so we'll be leading up to obviously summerslam at this time man that's a that's a great question to start from john john how are you buddy he's a big supporter of us he's been supporting us for years big mets fan well bronze breaker would have been the obvious answer but i think we derailed that a little bit to delay i i just don't see the i don't see them slowing down traction on obafemi right now i feel like the the train is going and they're just gonna have him dominate i know he's a bigger guy but he's a bigger guy that could perform i'm gonna go with obafemi on this one i just think that he's just got a he's got that effector i mean he's the next big thing since a guy like brock lesnar in my opinion yeah i would say i mean obafemi is the obvious answer here and i think he's gonna be like an absolute beast i don't wanna take away for because that would have been my answer too but i'm gonna give a couple of other names as well one of them is kit wilson i think kit wilson is is gonna get some camera time and the collectors really like the the the theme music like that's again getting deaf reveled by your theme music if you don't know what that is like you you can have like this generic ass music that no one likes or you can have a banger like kit wilson has and it will instantly make you popular he can perform he can he's great on the mic he gets the crowd engaged and he can wrestle i mean who would have thought you know who would have thought that opportunity would have came from him being a singles yeah kit wilson's is gonna be interesting and like it's so funny like how how much the entrance is really just look at bobby roode man bobby roode was the most boring wrestler ever but that theme music and his entrance made him relevant and now i mean he's a producer now so he's still in it but like that just goes to show you i would also say dominik mysterio is another one i think dominik mysterio is gonna have a mega year in wwe i would if there's one guy besides bron breakker not woman not a female wrestler to to put some some dough behind on my side again not giving financial advice but this is kind of my own tactics dominic mysterio is gonna be that guy so those two those are the two names i would say but obafemi is is a clear number one and i'm gonna give a girl but i don't think it's gonna i i think it's just gonna be a short time at that point i am all in on soluka hundred percent on soluka long term the girl has it she has an incredible finishing move i i think i've been talking about her for a while i've been watching her in nxt and i should have jumped the gun sooner but she she's a little pricier in the sense that you can't go buy her autogash like twenty bucks but i think she has everything that they want for the future so a girl who i think could get some rise coming up from after mania so she could get some steam leading up to around the national i think yeah i it's like that's the thing like obafemi's cards are already getting way too expensive they're they're being priced as if he's the number one contender and good good on him because i think we need we need more you know diversity in who we collect correct not just from a you know background perspective but also because like it's literally been the same people for like ten fifteen years at this point and seeing a male wrestler get some traction in the market especially one like obafemi with you know being from nigeria and like all these other things like really awesome story do you think not to interrupt you while it's fresh in my mind do you think we see an obafemi brock lesnar match at mania you think that's a possibility i really hope so i hope so too and lesnar would put him over too and i think that would be such a turning point and not to interrupt you but while it's fresh in my mind while we're talking wow that would be awesome that would be fun i i would definitely believe he's gonna have a major match they they have to they have to start building the next big thing especially with gunther quickly moving up the mortal kombat sort of stacking you when the the little photo moves up the the mountain as you're playing the game like that's what gunther is doing retiring people hoping he gets to the bellas eventually but but i think like obafemi like versus brock lesnar would be an absolute banger alright from baby face breaks a great supporter of our of our podcast thank you for everything you've been doing and sharing our messages if you guys had to start pc ing a new wrestler who would it be and ryan already pcs like twenty people so this is gonna be a tough question for him i'm a let you go first on this one well yeah i mean i i only collect one person for a reason because she's expensive enough on her own after especially after this week but i think the like if if i had to choose it's rhea ripley or it's roman reigns and that's just because i'm an elitist snob and i love collecting the best of the best but you know i've i've tried collecting so many people i've tried i've tried and those cards come into my pc and the second i need to to get a new becky lynch card out they go i have bought more rhea ripley cards than i can ex like i can even explain i've bought more tiffany stratton cards i've bought all those liv morgan cards i own zero of them i just sent ryan another rock autograph that i had to do in a deal for a major becky lynch card so i didn't even get to keep the one card that i actually did want another one don't worry i got a few i got you man but yeah the the we were i'm doing a deal with somebody and and that was one of the things we'll talk about it i i'm sure at a future podcast but yeah like i i can't get cards for a secondary pc i can't even keep them in stock because there's always other big cards i wanna get so yeah i would say rhea ripley roman reigns i've already got some stuff from them love love the best of the best can't can't go wrong there what about you ryan alright i got a i got a like a curveball here that you you're like oh i didn't see that one coming so my favorite wrestlers of all time are amazing heels shawn michaels randy orton seth rollins i'm a heel guy at the end of the day i may be nice i am a heel guy i love to collect heels doesn't have cards yet what better heel and somebody that is incredibly gifted and so hated logan paul i would be all about collecting logan paul that man has such an incredible future ahead of him you can love him you can hate him most people hate him he has it he is talented he is gifted he can hold a mic he is incredible in the ring he's so hated what a better heel to collect because let's be honest the biggest heels again everybody used to boo dom mysterio like crazy he couldn't get the biggest heels will eventually become the biggest baby faces and he is a no brainer to me i think he is a safe he is all in about wwe when we start getting logan paul cards i think they're gonna bring insane numbers but i think long term no question i just see his collectability there definitely logan paul is a prodigy and there's no way around it like he is the biggest asshole on the planet like no one is denying this but when it comes to professional wrestling the man is a prodigy and like i i don't have anything else to say he is really really good at what he does and it is it is sickening to me how good he is considering how much of an asshole he is in real life so i i think if you're a collector of heels when he eventually gets cards i hope he does you gotta you gotta you're hurting you're hurting here from me yeah i'm hoping by i'm hoping like he he wore a wrestlemania patch yes and so i i have to believe topps is working feverishly to get something worked out he was supposed to be in finest whatever happened fell through i think now i i don't think there's gonna once they once they start it's not gonna end so i i don't understand how again i this is beyond us but the guy loves cards not sports cards but he loves cards how does he not have cards yet i get panini was different but how does he not have a card yet i wonder what is going on there that is preventing that for somebody of him who is so pro about the hobby and cards yeah i don't i don't know the answer to that either i i was told by panini that he is not a true wwe contracted like signer or or part of the roster in that respect he's still under the celebrity type of deal like jelly roll was when they made those top now cards yep like bad bunny is because i think bad bunny may having a like a topps chrome bad bunny card would be like can you imagine after the super bowl and everything those would have been insane how much those cards would go for absolutely insane the miss that that was a boat missed on that if they had those type of cards you know my god prism black bad bunny card would have been of an ins that would have set a record but yeah logan paul i'm not sure what's going on with his cards he is a huge collector yes and loves pokemon cards loves trading cards loves everything about it he was on the kane collectibles on netflix if you've watched ken golden's show like i think like to your point it's gonna happen and once it happens it'll be worked out and they'll always have his cards but for whatever reason it hasn't happened yet i i hate him but he's one of us he is one of us at the end of day think about that he is a collector and that's what's awesome yep from steve mach who is one of my co contributors here on main event wrestling card amazing guy i love steve he sent us this question what was the toughest deal you have ever been through and what card was it for ryan i'm sure you have a million stories here curious what your toughest deal was and what was the card toughest deal take a wrestling card here oh here it's a card i'm not getting here we go let's start over this adam knows this so if you recall we talked about some sales three weeks ago i believe it was give or take that seth rollins and macca one zero one acetate auto that kept surfacing while i was looking up to buy it now great news not really took forever to get to eb authentication and i've never had this happen before usually when something's wrong with the card they'll literally tell you hey this is wrong do you wanna accept or deny truly just got the this did not meet the standards blah blah blah we're refunding you they're not getting the item basically so i wonder what if the card was even sent first off or what is wrong with it but i really great question because i couldn't think off top my head but that was the most recent thing and that card would have been so amazing in my collection i've at this point it's just throwing the white white towel i'm done i'm never gonna own that card that's so unfortunate it's an awesome card and so the champion so it has the championship at the bottom and he's doing the and i should i should have had some sort of prep ready here where i could have put that card in the screen for people on patreon but like this this card is awesome i'm really sad that it didn't work out i i've been through that too where i just want the card like i don't care about the condition i don't grade cards so like just say if it's a one zero one i just want the card for me i i have had so many weird deals man like so many weird deals like i'm the i remember the first time and this wasn't actually a bad deal this was actually a positive experience but then i'll get into how one of these can turn out a different way so like when when fully loaded it came out in twenty twenty i had helped topps get one of the jackets for becky lynch to cut up for those cards i know the person who hand painted all of her jackets and we got a couple of them in i sent one to topps i have one on my wall and like the one of one was like the last outstanding piece i needed for the for the rainbow and it actually surfaced in france so like i had to like get somebody from french who is french canadian to be able to sort of translate because i i know a few people but not enough to like go and speak french to somebody so that was a cool thing it worked out perfectly like cards showed up pro no problems whatsoever but i have had you got horror stories man horror stories horror stories some of them and i'm like yeah i just couldn't my anxiety and my stress couldn't deal with what you deal with that's why again take your head off you got no hair that's why it's because you're right you no hair whatsoever but like so the the i think the toughest deal was actually pretty recent as well like so back when tops chrome came out and this this whole card start to finish was just an absolute nightmare so i'll i'll tell it really i'll give you the thirty five thousand foot view here so card the becky lynch base variation super factor autograph gets posted uh-huh on ebay and the the guy asks just it's an enormous price tag we're talking multiple thousands of dollars more than it should after you know i'm sure he gets ten messages because i own you know fifteen of the super fractures people are running out of opportunities they feel to get one so when one pops up like it it goes crazy and so he probably got like eight different messages but we worked out a price he took the card and i said let's let's do the deal took the card down i paid him for the card and and then within twenty four hours my payment was refunded the the the card was back on ebay it had an even larger price tag than it did before so it went from like eight thousand dollars up to like ten thousand dollars but you know i posted it on social media i was like this is one of the only cards that i was desperate to get in the set i love topps chrome i've loved it since i was a little kid and this guy just said i take i'm taking your money took the card down off of ebay then puts it back up because he says he got a lot of messages that he undersold and i'm just like you know people just love to meddle in this shit and it's just so unfortunate but anyways eventually we we came to an understanding he apologized and the card got i got everything i needed everything was good i redeemed the card and then as if that wasn't a this gets bored this gets so bad weird as if that wasn't as a bad thing tops for a long time i don't think they do this anymore probably because of this situation it's all because of you it was all because of me topps shipped me the entire chrome rainbow so it was one zero one out of five out of ten because they were all redemptions so i redeemed the entire rainbow like the day i got these cards topps from check out my cards because all the topps redemptions at that point were still coming from check out my cards ships me a box see commsi sends me a box labeled graded cards so like on the bottom of the box it has these are graded cards i get it from fedex and the box is empty so the entire becky lynch rainbow of autographs base variation autographs from twenty twenty five chrome super fracture all the way up through gold completely gone and i had five of the golds in that shipment i had three oranges i had two blacks a red in the super fracture all gone i was compensated so tops really did right they did a great job sort of helping me out i was able to to make it all worthwhile because i ended up with the flawless one zero one bunch of stuff good stuff happened coming out of that but that was by far the bad the worst experience of my collecting ex like since i've been little like i've gotten scammed for hundreds of dollars nothing was as bad as that for the record i'm glad i went first with that story because i couldn't i couldn't live up to that that's just a horrific story and we know steve had a horror similar type of sale cancel sale but did not have to go through the aftermath that you went through which is unfortunate from a collector standpoint and adam is a diehard defile becky lynch collector those cards are far more important than what he was compensated and those cards more than likely will never surface ever i don't know once they opened that package and saw that they were super there's a super factor in there and really low number of cards they probably just tossed them they they scary mail and stuff then yeah and steve steve's situation was just as bad i'm sure that's why he sent this question i i guarantee you that i had that one yeah yeah that it's a great question because we all have those horror stories we'll tell a story of a positive deal maybe sometime in the future cause there's a lot of those too there's way more positives way outweigh the negatives man i hate negatives so i'll take this one because i know you're not really a digital card collector but a cool car coolfix on instagram asked what are the thoughts on ebay sales of digital only super factors so if you haven't played top slam it's a it's a game that you can download on your phone's digital card collecting the cards do have monetary value even though it's against terms of service to sell them on ebay a lot of them are are sold on ebay to people like me who want the the cards that they collect they go for a fraction of what they do the physical side i don't really have any thoughts other than i've done deals like this i bought cards off ebay they've arrived usually the sellers have a very clear sort of like hey this is what we do this is how we do it they handle a lot of it it's really easy i i've never had a problem but be careful because you wanna look at feedback you wanna look at all these other things like research it as if you're researching a real card do not buy digital cards from people with zero feedback one feedback whatever it's all the same stuff you would normally do on on any ebay sale but there's no authentication service so just be aware that if you're buying somebody from a seller that's just not gonna ship you the card ebay does give you the opportunity to say i haven't received it and so on and so forth so it'll be just the same as any other transaction you do on ebay ditto the last one and this is this is where i i get excited somebody who wanted to keep their their username anonymous for this reason sent us sent us this question i absolutely love this ryan is the nicest guy in the hobby please have him cut a promo on someone or something and i and the the the last word of that was make it happen so we're gonna make it happen ryan you are you're in draft party at my house i said trade up for drake may don't touch jj mccarthy while i've got neil crew seven who is a diehard michigan fan who only cares about jj mccarthy because he played in michigan and won them a national championship by being a game manager he's not a great quarterback what do the vikings do they draft j j mccarthy guess what happens next j j mccarthy goes down he's not good he goes down in preseason we paid ten million dollars to this guy now who is a super bowl winning quarterback in the name of sam darnold sam darnold takes us to a fourteen to three season almost takes us to as far as he can in the playoffs which only was one game but what a tough matchup it was then we say you know what nah we're gonna stick with jj mccarthy we got this guy here we know exactly what we got in jj mccarthy because we've seen him play zero nfl regular season games but he won national championship with michigan so sam darnall leaves goes to seattle they let him out the door door's open here have a good one see you later we go with this guy jj mccarthy who i am still not sold on way worse sold on now but yeah we have to rock jj mccarthy as our quarterback what do we have mediocre season missed the playoffs by a technically a half game i guess you could say had no business being there because let's be honest j j mccarthy is not gonna take us anywhere and what did was happen sam darnold goes on beats up on the new england patriots this past sunday and is now a super bowl winning quarterback and all the vikings want in the forty nine years we're going on fifty years now since they've been to a super bowl is to win the super bowl and yet we had the guy and we let him walk for a guy that has no good talent for our team i i don't like j j mccarthy i didn't like him to begin with i still don't like him please get rid of him he got our gm fired hopefully koc and then whoever's running the organization now can figure this out because jj mccarthy is not the answer if you have jj mccarthy cards sell them sell sell sell do not buy stay away this from a guy who is still telling you who told you on draft night do not draft j j mccarthy and what do you do you draft j j mccarthy that was the worst quarterback draft pick since they drafted christian ponder so yes i can cut a promo and that's one subject that i am fired up about i wish neil was here right now because i would give him the good old double bird stone cold and tell him to take j j mccarthy back to michigan there you go amazing yes and i'm a huge vikings fan i i watched the super bowl that was awesome i good for sam darnold man like i love when like darnold i love the underdog story the guy's rejected by so many teams finally finds a home in seattle absolutely dominates loved loved seeing it i i said to her i texted ryan after the game i said a viking won the super bowl maybe one year someday some way down the road the rest of them will closest thing that we've seen the super bowl in my lifetime and in your lifetime it's the closest thing ever yeah it's just like i don't get like we we i'm not this just makes me upset so let's just get into some big sales real fast here before we get onto the title match topic i i believe that these will continue to go up we're gonna continue to see a lot more large scale big sales happen i know a number of them have already happened this this year in twenty twenty six i think we're gonna continue to see this go up as we get closer to wrestlemania this one is the one of one baby milo john cena it's not the autograph version this is just the base version sold on ebay via auction which i verified did go to a a non zero feedback bidder for forty one hundred dollars wow that's crazy absolute monster sale i think these baby milo cards really do have sort of a niche following so like i know for for the people that enjoy the vape brands and and everything they've been around for thirty years at this point but this is the first collab that they've had with wrestling and these baby milo cards seem to be the highlight of the set rightfully so they're cool like unique cards that break from traditional sports cards traditional wrestling cards i can see why people like them forty one hundred dollars is a huge number that is way bigger than i thought i was gonna see up here that to me is whoo whoever got that really wanted that card if they can actually see it when they get in person that joke has been around as long as baypass exactly another big sale here was the twenty twenty three cody rhodes prism black psa nine autograph went for twenty seven hundred dollars twenty seven fifty i first of all the photo on this auction was absolutely horrendous and i think it was listed and sold so it's listed as an auction with best offer it was listed and sold within five minutes of the listing time so whoever was selling this card i mean it transact i i remember it transacting back in twenty twenty three for around the same price so i'm sure this guy was into the card for around three grand somebody offered him around three grand and just accepted it this i don't think this is a true representation of the prism black market i think they undersold this it sold too fast but twenty seven fifty it's still a pretty big number for a cody rhodes card this makes more sense to me paying twenty six twenty seven fifty which i think is grossly undervalued versus what the scene is sold for again my opinion but i think whoever bought this great buy on them i'm not a huge cody guy but he's great love the imaging on this not the photo of the actual card they took but the actual image of the card you know so you did a good job so it did did a really good job on this one really cool awesome card it is a black one zero one of cody you gotta remember he didn't have twenty two prism cards so he only had two years so a great great snack in my opinion yeah this is his first prism autograph okay psa psa nine so it's not like it's a psa ten but it we've seen prism doesn't really is will sell huge numbers regardless of grade so i think this was a really good pickup for whoever got it they got it they moved on this very fast so good for them this is one that i really was interest so let me tell a story about this card it is the two thousand eleven fcw slamorama roman leaky which is roman reigns' first wrestling card sold as a psa five on ebay for best offer at twenty five hundred dollars that's the big i think that's one of the largest sales that it's had and this is a psa five these cards are notorious for their rough condition but this guy just to give you an idea of of what happened here he had these cards in the closet he posted them on reddit i actually let ryan know because there was a husky harris bray wyatt one that was signed on the back as husky harris really cool card he sent them to psa he thought it would come back a lot higher of a grade but the corners the edges are all messed up as day in the picture yeah you can see it in the scan but it doesn't matter because these cards there maybe is a hundred of them maybe a thousand i don't even know but there's not many this is an xrc basically it's an xrc it's roman's first card it's an enormously important card because he is an enormously important part of this wrestling era seeing that see psa five go for twenty five hundred i guess that's not shocking to me if this was a psa eight or a psa nine i'm sure it's a five thousand six thousand dollar card but yeah i i actually messaged the guy because i don't have one and i want one and even though i think the card is awful looking i think like i i wanna have roman reigns' first card i don't collect indie cards i don't collect anything but wwe cards but this is one of the ones i would make an exception for yeah i'm i'm with you man this is a rare card you don't see and there's only like you said it can't be more than a thousand and if there is a little bit it's definitely not a lot of these out there yeah for sure last one that we'll talk about so there was a twenty twenty three select black ringside ultimate warrior that went for twenty five hundred dollars as well this was a psa nine i think this is warrior's best looking card it's horizontal but the photo sort of makes the card and i think this design of select for for twenty twenty three was was great and i was yeah this is twenty twenty three and so warrior selling for twenty five hundred dollars there's a lot of people who still love the ultimate warrior even though he's like one of the most notoriously weird people in the history of wrestling that's understatement it's an understatement yeah go go search for the youtube videos of they're great watch them yeah anyways so this so his cards it's like there was a a prison black that sold recently there's a few other things that sold recently all very big numbers so within the last six months warriors had some big sales and people are starting to want his cards like all these older wrestlers in the panini era like people have been picking especially like macho man who doesn't have a a a license deal with wwe anymore because randy poffo died or not randy what's his brother's name angelo one of his his his brother died within the last year and with him the licensing for that estate went to the control of somebody else who increased the price like ten x so now no one can produce macho man related stuff unless they wanna pay this owner of the estate buku bucks for this for his image and likeness so all the macho man cards are gonna be really hard to find he's not in any of the top sets for good reason it's just too expensive to put him in there for what you get and yeah i i think warrior is probably falling into that same bucket yeah no i so i love select first off i have the worst luck ripping prism wwe in history of ripping prism wwe but i i would i just ripped select i i would shred it i rip it it's fun you just get a lot of cool cards and the ringsides are always incredible cards for horizontal type cards so again rare because again ultimate warrior i don't know how many cards he end up having with panini but you know there's not a crazy amount of black so this was a great stack of my opinion if you're an ultimate warrior guy yeah i and the the select ringsides tend to be the top value card of the set the black one o ones but they're they're gonna pale in comparison to the prices you see in a prism card but they look great i think they look better than prism in in almost every year all the way around yeah but i would say one word to the wise here if you're selling a psa slab on ebay psas provides scans of your card we have two cards in these auctions that have sold for huge numbers that probably could have sold for more if they just included this photo alongside the psa scan like use the psa scan they give it to you for a reason use it do not take your weird ass photo and put it with the auction as the primary photo you can show it as a secondary photo but just to prove you have the card in hand but use the psa scans seriously it's awful to see these pictures they're some of them are so bad that's that glare right there with that light because anyway it's actually watching the video you could see it like horrible like i mean this is just what's this on some random desk or something or table or whatever random desk or whatever yeah exactly one last thing on on the high spots which i am excited to report so i was talking with with chris hoge who runs cardladder's research team he's one of the co owners of the platform we've been going back and forth now for what a year trying to get more wrestling cards added to their wrestling card index there's been about two hundred on the index for a long time mostly older vintage cards a few that i got them to add about a year and a half ago which include like up through twenty twenty tops products so we have like ria ripley's sort of few first cards we have some of the transcendent stuff whatever but now as of this past week they've added another hundred cards to the index which is awesome all the kabooms all the downtowns some of the major prism and select cards i i've been told they're adding more takes a long time for them to research because they have to go through every sort of stage of a card whether it's raw psa eight nine ten all those things and just build out their their algorithm so i i know how much work goes into this i i thank them for that effort i know it takes a long time and oh by the way they have to add like a thousand cards a week so like wrestling cards is not a priority for good reason but i appreciate them at least taking this effort so alright so let's finish out here with the title match topic this one comes from ryan just because he's he runs a shop as as he said a number of times over the last six episodes and i think i'm seeing a lot of this as well just tracking data and just seeing like there is an insane demand we have seen for wrestling card singles recently and like more so like because i think there's no product coming out so like because the products are delayed people are hunting their you know hunting through the tall grass for all these singles and some of them are on facebook ebay whatever you filled some major orders at your shop recently what do you think is driving this like how should collectors approach it like what what's your feedback here yeah i think it's just like a perfect storm of a lot of things in a bad way obviously one being that just the life of their products is huge knowing that you know we only got three years of panini's a lot more people are wanting to track down more of the premium brands like immaculate stuff like that but i think obviously we're on the road wrestlemania this is the the time where wrestling cards are the hottest you know we're gonna see my opinion it started two three weeks ago right before rumble up until we're gonna see probably through summerslam and national we're gonna see the hype grow with wrestling cards we know the absolute peak is at mania but the lack thereof out there is huge there's just not a lot out there in general there's only so much to go around there's limited years people don't really want rhea ripley pre you know hoot mommy essentially like her rookies yes but like a lot of her stuff they sell but not what her mommy type cards go for so we have you know selective what we can pick here but yeah like you alluded to we just had a big singles order come through last week it was a hundred and i can't remember it was a hundred and something singles it was two thousand dollar order and i think the highest card sold was like a jd mcdonough mcdonough topical and purple auto to ten was like the highest card on the order lot of just five ten fifteen twenty we are trying to process more wrestling cards right now we know how important it is right now to get this stuff out there and the only place you can buy it is r b a crew seven dot com through us or our shop we don't sell on ebay anymore we don't sell any of the other platforms so a lot of people are enjoying that that they can go to our website and find that neil has been listening like crazy speaking of kit wilson earlier i went digging and found thirty autographs i had sorted like a long time ago i i mean like immaculate rookie autos we uploaded a bunch of kit wilson's the other day we understand like hey we need to get this stuff out when this order came in for example we were left with two ria ripley cards on the website two so i said okay i need to go in the back stack real quick and process like forty ria ripley cards front of the line get these on we know we gotta get these on liv morgans all that type of stuff plus on top of that product right now every day james good put an order in today overnight with some product we sold three elite boxes earlier today in order sold a cactus two cactus jack cases last week which losing money on those but i feel like they'll go up the other way you get to see more and more people are more intrigued and wanting to get wrestling right now again i think that'll change once universe releases and that's more ready available for breakers to break and collectors to go get those but i feel like any of the older product right now it it at a price point that seems more reasonable is selling and we're gonna continue to see that yeah i i would echo a lot of that because ryan is is telling the story from the dealer perspective i'm more on the buyer perspective and you know so i i had a a giant deal come through this week and you know just just the way that these things come through i think people expect ebay to be like the end all and be all of selling it's just not the case so you have mega streamers on whatnot ten fifteen rooms going all moving singles all moving product break slots whatever and then you have fanatics live with the breaks that are going on there i know stephanie is doing a lot of stuff on mama breaks there's a lot of people on filth bomb and you name it that are all ripping wrestling all the time and like it just it it creates a lot of extra demand just from the visibility i mean like alex breaker mayfield was telling me like the singles that i had sent to him were were you know put up for sale and sold above his expectations i know you know chris and ralph and all those guys and whatnot they sell forever like all those things are are sort of like swirling around because no one can go to their card shop and buy tops universe or buy tops exalted or royalty or whatever those will come but we haven't had a product since october and i remember when panini was in the middle of the lawsuit and everything was sort of on hold for them very similar things happened but it wasn't at this level and i think that like man like adding in the repacks hit parade bless like like these people just want singles because the like are out there to build their pcs and like so i'll give you some danny medina ripped a case of cactus jack pulled the becky lynch superfractor autograph with the inscription awesome card she doesn't sign inscriptions she's never done one for panini she never did one for tops in the past she she signs the man when you're in person every single time but when she's doing cards she's flying through them i've seen her do it and this one had two inscriptions on it i had to have it danny was awesome in helping me facilitate that deal because but that's what they're doing like they're they're getting consistent people in their rooms danny's filling breaks i mean everybody is filling breaks like nobody's business because people just want wrestling cards but when you pull the data off of gemrate we'll talk about that next week like for last month when you pull the data off of ebay or cardladder it doesn't really show the true amount of of wrestling card singles that are moving a lot of it's done on facebook a lot of it is done through whatnot yep platform and all those online all that stuff yeah there's just huge amounts of movement and unless you're in you're you have your ear to the ground unless you're really sort of doing it like you're not seeing this you're just going on ebay hoping that the card you want shows up and like i think that's that's a challenge for a lot of collectors so like if if i one of the things that i know i do regularly i'm i'm like i'm always checking like i have eyes everywhere thank you so much to everybody who tagged me on any of those big cards that get pulled like i can't thank you guys enough because there's just so many streams out there i can't watch them all i can't keep my tabs on it and people do such a good job helping me out thank you from the bottom of my heart for everybody who has helped me out in the past but like you know that's the thing like people just want to sit and and go through and see what they can buy there's a lot of money in the hobby right now there's a lot of people flying around doing stuff the shows like you were just in dallas we talked about that a couple of episodes ago you're gonna go to the i think you've got something going on for burbank here coming up like there's there's a lot going on and people that drives action and the action drives visibility and visibility drives demand and i think like that's at least my take on it but is there anything out there that you're seeing that people should watch out for like are you seeing anything that just sort of like drives or raises that red flag for you maybe makes the the hair on the back of your neck stand up a little bit meaning how so what do you mean like things that people should avoid like like okay things like that you're seeing maybe from from your perspective besides the downtowns which we talked about last week no no yeah we did and and glad we did we got a lot of great feedback about it and we just wanna to give you the information again shout out to brian thc for doing all his homework no i think the biggest thing that irks me and again this is no shot at whatnot or anybody on whatnot it's the cards being auctioned for way more than what they're worth and people not doing their homework and you're seeing cards that are worth five bucks going twenty five then those people get those cards they come to a card shop and or a show and i've seen videos of this i've seen people like car me a t c twenty two do things on this and other people you know people get burnt and it it irks them the wrong way to where they're gonna leave the hobby you know people don't wanna go i spend five hundred bucks and then you got a hundred dollars in cards you didn't know what you're buying i get it it's a hype it's a moment you know i wish there'd be more ways to cap that i get it it's it's a free for all anybody can bid and it's it's an auction platform but you know it's when it's a rare card you could see an astronomical number happen yes but when it's a run of the mill card that's just a five dollar card and it looks cooler than what it is it's perception it's perceived it's how you hype it up how you talk it up you know that stuff to me bothers me in the sense of you're giving somebody the wrong impression of this hobby and you're sending them down a path to where you're not sustaining long term collectors you're sustaining the quick dollar grab and that that bothers me and again that's always gonna be there there's nothing we can do to change that but maybe a way to make more people aware i'm always happy to educate people you come to our shop ask us questions all my staff's educated tyson's right there front and center he's our buyer he shows people well hey i want a hundred bucks for this card well we can't buy a hundred well why not well it's worth fifty well how do know it's worth fifty here let me show you data let me show you how to search ebay all these other platforms like cardladder our job is to educate people as a hobby shop and as collectors and as whatever you know and i wish more people were educated and sometimes it takes getting burnt to realize okay don't do that again i just don't like to see people get burnt the wrong way and leave the hobby that could have been somebody great for the hobby yeah no that's a that's a really well said point and i think from what i've seen and whatnot i mean it's a free for all it is have really reputable people that know how to do it and do it right there is right way and then you're gonna have people who are you know sort of in their basement running a side hustle and it's a it's a it's a stereotype right you know you're in your basement in a dingy sort of room poorly lit not showing the things you're showing and whatever like it it's a stereo it's become a meme at this point and like that's unfortunate that those people exist but as long like to your point education in this hobby is a luxury and like i've come to understand over twenty years of writing sports card content this is my twentieth year writing about sports card congratulations happy twenty years thank you this is this is something that has been a massive issue for multiple decades i would say a century probably since going back to when cards first sort of came you had to go to a a tobacco shop to like no one knew anything about cards even back when this card start first started and it's just been a perpetual cycle of lack of education through the fifties and through the through the eighties and you know the junk wax era and all the way up through now like just want to make money in so many different ways that it it really perpetuates a a a really vicious cycle but luckily there are more tools now you have cardladder you have gemrate you have all these platforms now who are who are out there to educate i created main event wrestling cards as a free website it's on patreon so it looks like it's gonna cost money it doesn't for the sole purpose of educating people to ryan's point because i feel a responsibility to at least give people a a leg to stand on in these whatnot does have this platform where if you run sudden death auctions at five seconds people won't have time to research the value of a card before it's sold i would say if you're in one of those rooms just be very very careful yep and ryan's already called that out if you're in a shop and you and you see somebody who knows what they're talking about like ryan does use that time wisely if they're not busy and they're they're willing to to spend that time with you use it i'm always open our dms are open like everybody will will take the time in wrestling cards usually this is a different community than sports cards so there's a lot of education that we're willing to provide on that i have collector lists so if you're looking for somebody to sell a card to i have a list of people who collect that person there's somebody for everybody like there's so many resources we have you just have to use them so i think like in a boom period like this where everybody is just hunting for that awesome next card in their pc do what you can to to educate yourself and know what to look for that's just the reason i put this last bullet point in there so i think that i i think from overall like this is only gonna get crazier i think the crypto crash may have some impact on the sports card market eventually that could trickle down to wrestling cards repacks are are gonna be what they are i i don't know if this is sustainable long term i think we always say that every time there's a boom but you know wrestling cards are gonna peak very quickly here at wrestlemania they'll take a little bit of a dip as ryan has already said but yeah i'm i mean like that's kind of the way it is right yep spot on alright so next week on book to last we
