it's episode thirty two yes it is coming at you at a different day a different time i got my coffee in the hand and adam is not in minnesota he is in chicago heading home today but better yet adam how we doing doing good second week in chicago this time for work so i i can't complain so i'm having a rough weekend cards this time no no fun time not for cards yeah this time not for cards but it was a good time just you know getting out here again and and getting to to be here with a a different focus but heading home today gotta head to the airport so we're gonna have to do this rapid fire as usual but you know hopefully it means that we can cover a lot in a short amount of time and everybody still gets what they need so let's do this this is my second podcast today i just got off one i'm hopping on the other one let's let's rock and roll so i think we'll start with the opening pyro as usual and just some wrestling news to go through because there were there was a couple of things that were not good and a couple of things that were pretty good first we got the news that rhea ripley had knee surgery does not look very good i think she was hoping to go through the meniscus sort of repair through physical therapy or whatever and they ended up having to do surgery that sucks it's yeah like i i that is there's no worse person in wwe right now besides roman reigns maybe to get injured like this looks like she's gonna be out for a while so good for chelsea green but we also found out that she has an injury to broken orbital bone after that spot with fatal influence yep it's it's some things are snake bit man yeah maybe this belt is just cursed for all we know and maybe danhausen cursed it before they put it on rhea who really knows but very unfortunate yeah i don't think this is gonna hurt rhea's cards at all i think they're gonna stay where they are best of luck to the road to recovery hopefully she comes back sooner than later but you know obviously she's the she's everything to w two b they're gonna take this precautiously they're not gonna rush this they're gonna make sure she's ready to go when she comes back yeah and i think like rhea has had some unfortunate timing on some of these injuries and yeah i think that putting the putting an interim champion in place made sense at the time but seeing chelsea green now have problems of her own i don't know if that prevent from wrestling but maybe she'll have a bedazzled mask again or something to protect her face but or she could do fan with the opera style similar similar to what the undertaker did that one time but yeah this is this is not good but i think like at least smackdown's gotten some reinforcements we saw that tatum paxley debuted last week i did not see a debut patch on her though so that's yet to be yet to be seen so we'll have to see if they give it to her you know i'm sure they're gonna do like a a match with her and alexa and charlotte but they putting with them with her or her with them sorry is is definitely good for for her prospects but hundred percent i was i was watching this and saw that she was sort of like gonna like they they had sort of hinted at a few things on nxt and with lola vice also sort of saying her goodbyes i think she's imminently gonna be called up likely to raw but i i don't know like tatum paxley for me has never sort of set the world on fire she's kinda has that unique look and and can sort of obviously she can go but i'm just like i don't see her with all of the the talent that they have on the roster and the women's side i don't know how much she's gonna elevate without alexis sort of towing her to the top you know whatever i'm not sure what your thoughts are on potato it's like she's kinda looks like a mini rhea obviously complete different type of wrestler i did watch her in nxt i liked everything i saw from her shows you the faith that they have in her to pair up with arguably two two wrestling greats women i mean alexa bliss and charlotte flair they definitely have high hopes for her and a bright future so i'm excited i i think she's gonna bring a lot to the table we'll see how it goes i i i think it's an interesting pairing but i also thought alexa and charlotte was an interesting pairing and it it works so i hope this one really works out i think it will and it it was time for her to get called up she did what she could in nxt and i'm excited to see what's going to work i remember when she won the title it was kinda out of nowhere on nxt and like everybody was like okay this is interesting she lost it shortly after i think but alexa i think well she's always sort of called out to alexa as like her sort of inspiration so to put her in like with evil alexa i think is a really good pairing mhmm but anything fresh in smackdown i'm all for it like if you can get something let's let's address the elephant in the room smackdown was good on friday it was very good was watchable on friday smackdown is going in a direction that i am all in and loving it yes absolutely i i have i have three things from smackdown to call out which is a first because usually it's calling out for being bad but i thought punk and ko did a tremendous job setting this game i am awesome promo yeah and like even the announcers like we're not gonna be able to talk about their past or whatever it was but like because they've had beef with each other i think and all this other stuff but like anytime there's like a history there to to feed the matches like that that just makes for great tv and punk and and k o are some of the best on the mic that exist so i was like that and then randy as well like you had to enjoy that but just one thing i forgot they are doing the championship match at in canada when they go to toronto for their upcoming show they're not gonna do it at money in the bank which is not until i think the end of october or even sunday night main event or whatever they're calling it to these days so that was kind of interesting i obviously they want ko to get that huge hometown pop which i get but i was like this is a big match like we have not seen ko and centimeters punk go one on one since he's been back i think so maybe i'm wrong but and do you feel i feel that there's a good opportunity a good chance that ko does win the belt does take it from punk mhmm i i would love to see that i'm here for that i have always liked kevin owens for the road recovery to get back to where he was it's been what almost two years out of action wasn't it yeah almost like seventeen months or something it's something crazy and the fact that he's come back the pop that he got you were there for it oh my god he was electric pop i love kevin owens i'm here for it i hope that they put the belt on him because you're at the point now where you don't have to worry about kevin owens carrying it to wrestlemania you're at a point now where the next big event in wwe arguably is wrestlemania the biggest of the year right now you can have that okay intermediate punk doesn't need it right now i hope that they get this on kevin owens because kevin owens could do some great stuff with it i just don't know are we getting are we getting heel owens or face owens because right now all these guys are going at it like just who they are and i love it yeah they really haven't had a heel and face defined roles because you saw what happened with like becky and and stephanie vakar and like like they're not really sort of like hey if you wanna cheer them go ahead if you wanna boom go ahead we're they're gonna operate within different roles and i think that works to a degree i think at some point you do need to establish like a top baby face and a top heel but other people can maybe be tweeners but i think like ko regardless of what he is face or heel is great and he's one of my favorite guys to watch just sort of go back and forth with people because he never disappoints and his cards have finally started to come around because he does all of these inscriptions and like you know so people are starting to appreciate sort of what he's meant to the business and him being away for so long was was bad for hit for wwe not to have that sort of like standard person who's been there for so long like he hasn't really never missed a ton of time and and then all of a sudden he's out for like a year and a half and it it showed like the smackdown having ko smackdown having centimeters punk them i'm sure they'll build to a sami zayn fight eventually they always do and it's always great so i mean like even though we've seen it like those are the types of things that i think make a show you know worth checking out and i actually made it a point to go watch smackdown even cody rhodes and randy orton like going back and forth was good and i don't wanna see cody rhodes do anything very very soon i think he needs to be off tv for a little bit they keep keep him going keep him going i know he wants to work but he can't we can't miss you if you don't go away may maybe maybe randy gives him the final real punt and knocks him out so he can go promote street fighter and take some time away and then come back different character who knows yep but yeah i thought i thought what they did was good on on smackdown and even sort of like the the way that this all sort of played out was great i wanna talk quickly about raw because i my my new favorite sort of thing to watch is solo sikoa i don't know if you've seen sort of the things that you do to do i love it he is hilarious and it's funny because like he was never this kind of guy until probably four or five months ago and then they've sort of like been giving him more and more screen time because he's started to realize that he's actually awesome to have on camera in this role and it is so funny to watch i actually ripped a couple of the summer slam mini helmets that they were doing because i bought it from the store and i pulled the the swarovski one of one solo sekoa helmet that's awesome out of the out of that box but it's like it's his cards have never been valuable beyond just those rookies that when he was sort of brought up you know first to the bloodline and they were sort of doing that initial thing that was really the last time that solo had any real value but if he continues down this path and he gets like all this screen time maybe they put a a belt on him eventually like again like this this could be great like i i love what they're doing with solo sikoa yeah i saw something the other day on my facebook feed pull up it was like wwe superstar jey uso it looks like he got arrested he's like arrested for shots fired in a crowd at solo sikoa yeah he did and i was like oh my gosh i was like oh my god what happened and then reading i just started laughing my ass off so i i think it's awesome i think solo is hilarious on the mic he's getting so over with the fans the wwe's got something going here with him yeah they definitely what now what's gonna happen is he gonna be joining the bloodline too without you know because he's gonna lose a match i don't really know i don't want him to i think he's doing great just on his own right now man i i think if they if they do put him there's gonna be some sort of coming and even if he ends up sort of turning on somebody or whatever it'll be just as fun like i think the heels have more license to do funny stuff and it'll only add more but i think from a card perspective if if he can stay a face and get to the popularity level that we saw maybe like la knight sort of get to because he was cutting promos like three years ago two years ago when the crowd was sort of latching on huge pops when he comes out if solo can sort of migrate into that role because people love him for what he's been able to do like i think his cards are cheap like you can get in on the ground floor very easily like this is somebody i would say we got it i would i would take you to keep an eye on maybe buy a few just to stash for the next few months just in case it's only gonna cost you like ten fifteen bucks so why not yeah last year at the national i picked up his flawless relic auto with an inscription on it from him one zero one and i was like i'm gonna put this back and i'm i i've just i've been trying to pick up you know kind of one zero one nice inscriptions of wrestlers i liked i picked up the seamus banger after banger super factor auto from i love that one which i'm like i'm i want some more of that stuff and and like i said the solo one i got is pretty cool too so i'm i'm here for it i i hope that this they build upon this and they do some fun stuff with it i mean maybe they like speaking of money in the bank like is solo one of the people that you could see winning money in the bank yeah now with this going on yeah i don't think you're gonna have somebody like oba wen that's not really no i don't think you're gonna have that no i could see somebody like solo winning i mean they obviously haven't outlier everybody who's gonna be in it yet you gotta think a guy like bron breaker could be in it be a favorite as well for women's side i i don't think things went as well with solruka as they wanted i think they're almost need to kinda rebrand her a little bit i feel like right now otherwise i would go with the solruka but i feel like there's just other female wrestlers that might be more prone for that opportunity so i don't know where they're gonna go right now i wanna see the lineup more importantly what they need i think i think this becky vakar and liv morgan thing could spill over into money in the bank and even if they either they do a match or they do like like the they do a number one contenders sort of match at money in the bank or they do the championship match at money in the bank and whoever's not in that that trio is not in that match they win money in the bank and maybe we get a cash in that night because i think the only thing is everybody's waiting for the first women's non winner on money in the bank like every cash in has been successful so somebody eventually has to be the first that doesn't cash in or doesn't isn't successful so we'll have to see you gotta think that may happen when maybe rhea down the road is is the champ and they come out on a match and rhea you can't expect like liv morgan to have a match and then still win that without interference you know so i feel like you gotta have somebody who's strong enough to finally beat that woman that tries to cash in yeah that might i i like women's so men's side i i would love to see la knight get a chance just yep so people shut up about it because they've been they've been really harking on that i think it would be great for his cards to finally even though he's older at this point like i think he's already over forty he's over forty yeah decades i'd love to see you know if if ko doesn't pull off this championship win maybe give it to ko and let him but i i think that that's such a i i would love to see him just win it straight out like i don't think he should be forced to win the belt with money in the bank i think that's kind of been seen now as a cop out women's side yeah i think we kind of covered that but it's gonna be interesting it's it's a while like they've got a while before this pay per view and i think there's a sunday night main event in between but that's not a real pay per view so alright just in the interest of time let's go on to these card market high spots because there is some major stuff going on with golden we did see that the cena auction is starting on august seventeenth so a week from monday last monday was the eleventh right or something like that so this is this coming monday as you're listening to it this auction is gonna start it's part of the summer one hundred so this is like bigger than the premier they obviously have a lot of stuff invested in this just from what i was hearing at the national it ends after a month so this this auction is gonna run for a while yep it's gonna end on september nineteenth we're still sort of figuring out how we're gonna cover it here on book to last but even when you place that first starting bid it will automatically set the scene on public sales record just with the first bid so the the public sales record right now i think is just over eighteen thousand this buyer's premium starting bid is eighteen thousand six hundred dollars so you've got a record in the scene of sales just from the get go we knew that that was like it's kind of like a a given but i don't know what's your what's your thoughts on this like just being in the summer one hundred i think it's probably gonna run-in the same auction as ria ripley so yeah i'm i'm curious about that as well i i thought it was but i'm not sure i know the ria just graded came back did you post that in here or no it's an authentic no i think it okay like i the deck i built the deck before i saw that darius had gotten the authentic grade out of it yes that can be a psa authentic so this being an eight shows you hey that's probably the highest these might grade you may get lucky and get a nine the way they're made but yeah they're not this is massive to have a wrestling card in this summer one hundred of golden i think it's really putting wrestling cards more on the map this is gonna get a lot of attention exposure i gotta think this is gonna get picked up probably by espn and other things it's gonna really change the trajectory a lot of wrestling cards because like you said this on record is already gonna be the highest selling scenic card opening bid on record well sorry not the black and stuff like that but you know this is this is crazy i love it i think it's going to the right place it needs to to get the eyes and ears and exposure on it and i'm excited to see where this bidding goes we're gonna talk more about this adam and i we wanna try to cover this the best we can as this is going on that's something we're working on so again i think this is gonna be a real big even though the wrestling cards have taken a turning point i think this is the big turn and this is where things start to really change for the market of wrestling cards cards yeah i think like putting this in the summer one hundred just like you said gets it a ton of eyes i think anybody who had any indication of wrestling cards already knows this card is going to auction it's everybody outside of wrestling that i think is really gonna help it to get even higher than i think the expectations even were but i mean like we we were sort of handicapping this at like you know two hundred two fifty depending like it they it could go that high and i think anything less than you know six figures is definitely a disappointment but now that it's in this summer one hundred i i don't think that that's i i think that that's the best possible situation because when we were talking about royalty coming out you and i back in the day you know a couple of months ago we said that for the john cena to set the records that that it need to have it had to be pulled in the right way put up for sale in the right way and going in the right sort of hands and and sort of being seen by the right bidders i don't think that there's a more perfect situation like i this is exactly the way we wanted it to happen now some people will say oh well it was designed like that it was never in the product or whatever and topps just dropped it off with psa and put it in gold like come on guys i mean like no one no one would do that but i think the other aspect of this is like wrestling cards got very lucky here yeah this is everything that we were hoping would happen this is gonna put the eyes on it this is where it needed to end up at i'm all in for it i've got the popcorn ready i think it's gonna be over a hundred grand fairly quick to be honest with you i know a lot of people that are going in i think we're gonna be factoring some people outside the wrestling card collectors who are well known maybe not just in the hobby but or in the real world that could be going for this this is gonna grab attention from people that probably have never really bought a wrestling card who are now gonna dive in because of what this wrestling card means what it represents and who it is i would i'm gonna close with saying this wwe has a humongous archive and they're in the process of building a hall of fame i believe like they are gonna eventually sort of deliver a you know an actual place to display all the stuff could this end up like the paul skeens that got bought by dick's sporting goods to put in their house to sport in pittsburgh like maybe wwe says you know what this is a card we need for for that hall of fame to be able to say hey this was seen as last wrestlemania seventeenth title win like maybe wwe says this is something we need for for our collection oh my gosh please not another card that gets displayed where the autograph becomes nonexistent that's not what we need for these cards if i don't know if you've seen the paul skeens pictures lately that autograph is almost faded it is oh really horrible it's like tarnished because it's seeing light no matter uv protected or not when things are on display this is why i'm very much put my cards in a box put them in the dark hide them you know i i feel like this is gonna tarnish the autograph if it happens but if wwe is in on this who knows what this thing's gonna bring yeah exactly you know we we question is logan paul in on this is mister wonderful we know kat's in on this but how much is kat willing to spend we know there's people that are outside the wrestling card space that have money who are gonna be going for this really wanna know where this goes i wanna whoever wins i hope they become public and say i won this card so we know who it's going to yeah and i think like if you're not excited about hearing about this card you're gonna have a bad time for the next month it's gonna be everywhere so like i'm just warning you like if you don't want cena cena everywhere like this is gonna be a major deal if if you got annoyed by the orton exposure after that went and sold hold on here hold on hold on get interesting exactly this week we also had the preorder for topps universe really i i was like i i keep seeing the cards and i think last year was a surprise in how good it was i was very impressed with it last year i bought a ton of it i know you bought a ton of it did a lot of breaks it was great because the event worn stuff was a huge attractive point this year i think they've added some some definite sort of new features a lot more case hits these you know that we're we're showing on the screen like they've got title marks are back the superstar relics are back the tag team relics are back i think they look better than they did last year i i was originally thinking that this was gonna be player worn it looks like there's a lot of yvette warren stuff in the previews which is great to see not good that roman reigns is a matt relic already so maybe they're out of roman reigns stuff to put in these cards or they're saving it for something but we get the debut of danhausen in a base card format he has had tops now cards of course so this set is cursed but i think that's gonna be a huge chase for people having you're trying to get that first danhausen base card i actually tweeted out and he retweeted my tweet so that was really cool but awesome you know i think we need you know sets to deliver you know at a at a price like this is because it was a hundred and forty nine dollars a hobby box forty nine dollars for the new megas that are new for this year and then twenty five dollars for the value boxes the blasters so we do have three formats great to see that i think the case hits look amazing there's still one that is yet to be previewed i think people are gonna love but the the the alias case hit that was previewed is looks looks to be some a car you have to have in hand to to truly appreciate because it looks like it's like kinda like a diamond thing or or whatever it looks awesome but i'm curious like did you get your hands on any from the preorder because i struck out no i actually i was doing a lot of work on monday when it went live but i did obviously get some offer to me from topps being direct and stuff so i'm excited to bring it in no i i love this product last year i thought it was a great product now i don't think it will be as hot for breaking out of the gate because last year we were starving for wwe releases in the first one we got since i think it was financed sort of the bait product but they are adding some nice elements to this we we got this tiffy card here she is doing more and more awesome inscriptions all records these case hits look great the price point i think these are gonna be two hundred dollars a box probably in the in the market blowout and da have them listed at two fifty okay so i think it's closer to two two and a quarter because i think last year's about that i'd rather probably right now rip last year with the more event worn stuff but i think there's gonna be some added elements here i love it i love the three skus that they're doing we need more intermediate products like this to get more people into the wrestling card market into the hobby of wrestling cards but overall the cards look great last year i think they're gonna stand up again and i'm i'm all for it i probably will rip a couple cases because it is fun to rip with my family the cards look great and they're not like ripping anything super high end so we get some pc cards out of it well yeah probably not not probably not anymore why it's six but yeah so at least i save money on breaks now yeah and like the like i would like the foil factors from this look great like last year's i have a few i have a couple of the becky lynch ones and they are awesome in hand i i don't think the title marks are as cool they're using sort of the studio shots instead of the action shots they used last year but to your point like last year was like coming off of the huge hiatus and like now i i don't think that this is gonna be as hot out of the gates but at a hundred like i really hope it gets under two hundred bucks at some point and i really hope they fix the the box format because last year there was one box per case that had like the case hit and auto relic and and like all the good parallels it was all in one box i really hope they spread it out further over a case you don't have to like rip until you find that box and everything else is dead but so that's number one but number two like if roman reigns is the only one with a matte relic great that means that everybody else still has yvette warren that they're they're pushing into product which is tremendous and i i hope that maybe this is just an aberration and we're not when they'll have more roman reigns here in the future but like it seems like everything else looks great we'll see have to see how it all turns out i think the the main complaint last year from people was like the ninety nines and the and the out of fifties had single color which listen you're not you don't have a way to create event worn gear that has colors everywhere like their their gear can be you know obafemi's ninety percent of his gear is black or green or whatever so you're gonna have a lot more of the single color relics but you know then they save the ones that are like out of twenty five and out of ten like those usually have better relics in them i get it people don't don't like napkin patches but at the same time event warrants in that one speaking of event war just crossing my mind what are what are your thoughts on them trying to officially get some wrestler's boots to do that that'd be kinda cool yeah to do belt boot relics i mean that's something else to give it real quick them the so they i i did see some of the relics that they had gotten over the last you know couple of you know i guess couple of years at this point and like they have a wide range i mean we saw at wrestlemania they had undertaker's hat they had fiend's mask like all of those other things which will probably be coming in dynasty if i had to guess or maybe they've they're saving it for royalty but putting boots or even i i wanna see like a title belt relic like get a a tv worn title belt that'd be cool and put that in a card i think that would be so awesome or you know other things that that wrestlers wear i mean like the entrance gear can like charlotte flair of feathers and stuff like who knows like there could they could really go deep and they had a a lily doll i think that they've showed at wrestlemania two years ago as well so like they're gonna cut up some some cool stuff i have a feeling yeah i'm in for it alright let's get into some big sales here and just sort of go through we had another wrestlemania patch auto one zero one sell this time xavier woods no longer with wwe but still generating huge numbers it was sold via best offer sixty five hundred dollars so i think you know if you think of the viking raiders maybe eric and ivar is the floor here this is just above the floor at sixty five hundred dollars but still a huge price for a a a wrestler that has had humongous accomplishments in wwe probably part of one of the greatest wwe tag teams of all time but as we've said like people don't really care about tag teams in wwe and you know xavier woods with all of his outside the ring sort of stuff with like the video games and sort of the streaming that he does like he has a huge following so i'm curious how this compares to what kofi kingston eventually sells for but you know big sale here at sixty five hundred dollars on ebay yeah i mean obviously this has to be his highest selling card ever and probably will be his highest selling card ever but like you said for who he was and and his time at w two b and he's had a very long career he was with tna and everything like that and obviously i think we're gonna see them really soon i'm assuming in aew but you know where they're gonna be more probably appreciated as tech team which aew tends to do i think it's about right where i need to go i they're a step above them for sure i think they'd never got the level of respect for their cards as they should have while they're in wwe for what they did but no i think this was a fair price i think for who he was and what it is the car looks beautiful his autograph looks clean yeah i mean love it i think it's a great great price whoever got this probably is happy to have them in the collection and then i also wanna bring up so you posted on your instagram you finally got your gift to neil after after sort of that major mess up at the national of forgetting it in saint louis but man and so you bought the finn balor wrestlemania patch autograph as well it was for sale for ten thousand dollars for from santiago sports i wanna know like was i i saw neil's live reaction on the video so we got to see like what his face was but like behind the scenes like what was he saying okay so long story short yeah so tyler puts this up on instagram early june on vacation with my family i see it i text him because tyler and i have been friends for a long time he sold to me for a little less than ten k i'll just be honest it was nine thousand that sold for okay and i was like hey i need this i i'm literally wanna give this to neil at rustin carr takeover i i'm gonna gift it to him i'm not gonna tell any of my staff i only talked to you and brett knew and then yates obviously he's like my therapist john yates the sheriff he knew but i kept it very hush so i had planned the whole time to bring it to the national at some point a wrestling card takeover kinda make an announcement and then say oh by the way blah blah blah i ethically failed my wife texted me on tuesday and she's like i just noticed you left neil's card at the house i'm like i left left the card and i have no way of getting it here so alright pivot so then the following week after the national by i think it was thursday morning i was i think it was a thursday i was like alright i'm gonna come into work and i walk in the office and i've got handle here neil nathan craig and i think yeah that's it i say hey guys here's the deal i'm gonna make an announcement video i need somebody to record i need neil on the video but i need y'all to listen i'm just going verbatim with this it's important i don't wanna talk about it before let's just do it and they're like what the what the hell okay okay announcement video i thought you were like we're opening a new store and i was like i thought that was what happened in the morning and my guys are like still waking up but obviously i'm like alright so then obviously if you've seen the video neil was absolutely clueless and in shock was more like mortified like what is going on right now what is he talking about my guys i looked at them they're like what's going on so obviously the rest is history gave me a big hug he was still in shock rest of the day he still i think still was talk still buzzing about it we actually talked pretty few a little bit today about the podcast but it was a special moment i felt my goal i was buying him a fin in ton of brakes i think i bought fin in fifty sixty brakes trying to get him to get this card for his collection because obviously once i got orton i made a priority to track that down obviously it surfaces to a good friend that had it who was selling for somebody else it all came full circle so it's in the home where it needed to be at it's never leaving his collection honored and happy to to bring that to him and have that that wrestling card moment with with neil who is crew seven rbi crew seven wouldn't be what it is today without neil coming to me nearly twenty years ago and we formed rbi crew seven it's just a great story and like i i i heard when we were we were sitting in like a in like a bar in chicago for the national and like ryan's telling this story to everybody that was there and we're just like oh my god dude like how did you forget this so anyways it worked out neil neil congrats man that's an awesome card i'm glad you got it finn balor stuff send it to to rbi crew seven on instagram or whatever i'm sure neil would love to get his hands on a few more big finn balor grills one other or a couple other sales or somebody out there just out of nowhere posted the entire out of nowhere lines i feel like orton's gonna pop in my shop at his rko i mean he keeps saying out of nowhere so but like somebody posted on ebay a full rainbow from twenty twenty two so just for clarification there are only a few people that have full rainbows from any of the prison sets let alone a full graded one this one is the walter one who eventually becomes goonther he posted it all at once which i was very shocked to see i think even so chad one of our good friends who runs sports car junction collects gunther cards and i was like please tell me you saw this because it was while i was at a baseball thing so i didn't even see it go up it sold almost instantly and so was the black all the way down graded all the way down through the base card so i think you know you're looking at like thirty different cards or just under thirty different cards and it's sold for sixty five hundred dollars best offer i think the black alone is worth sixty five hundred dollars minimum so i think this selling things is a lot never tends to work out well but you get to unload some of the stuff that isn't gonna sell for more than a few dollars here and there so i think if you had the gold and the black and the gold shimmer and stuff like that those alone would easily have a clip sixty five hundred dollars but this guy obviously just wanted to get rid of it all at once do we know what the black was graded i can't i can't see from the photo mhmm but i'm sure we can zoom in if you go to the auction you can probably zoom i i don't think it was a ten i think it was like either an eight or a nine okay but it's it's pretty remarkable yeah i think whoever did get this in our opinion got a steal i think this is a minimum ten thousand dollar plus opportunity here in value yes the lower tier grade stuff's not much but you're buying the black the gold the gold shimmer obviously the three key things you're buying and i think those two those three combines over ten thousand dollars easily so congrats whoever got this unfortunately chad didn't i know he was pretty upset about it but good bond it is what it is congrats to the the owner of this now yeah and this isn't is also this is not walter quote unquote this is not his rookie card he did have tops cards going back but right this is the first prism set and like we all know what prism from twenty twenty two is doing lately and and this is just massive i i was shocked to see they actually sold the select black concourse i believe as well at the same time and check this both of them i felt really bad and moving on to another huge sale from topps chrome the eos sky legends or not the it's the nineteen eighty six throwback card great great looking photo great looking sort of set overall this is the superfractor graded psa nine ten sold for five thousand dollars via best offer i i remember this was pulled i think like week one or week two of the release and just just came to sale i probably was sitting at psa forever but you know seeing this card sell for five thousand what was that i said what isn't sitting in psa forever yeah so i think like the the seeing this card sell for five thousand great price on an insert autograph so this isn't the base super this isn't the the the base autograph super this isn't it's just the nineteen eighty six six superfractor autograph huge price on this great for eo sky she's finally getting her her her time in wwe to show what she's got i think collectors are really starting to respond and i love these nineteen eighty six cards they look so good i'd rather have these in some of like the the raw smack down and other ones i mean i think these are incredible obviously we're old so we remember nineteen eighty six yeah this is the first set i collected yeah yeah we had jose canseco cecil fielder you had barry bonds in the eighty six traded sets yeah so we're showing our age here so for us it takes us back to our childhood we love this set absolutely just to highlight this sale from the national top set that was sold exclusively via eql at the national we talked about it a little bit last week the alexa bliss superfractor one zero one this is the nonautograph version i think the autograph version is currently up on ebay but this one sold for thirty three fifty via best offer on ebay i was floored by this price like alexa continues to to sell for ridiculous money but seeing a a a set like this which i think you and i both know the history of national sets with panini and topps like they don't tend to sell very high after the fact like it's once you leave the show the hype sort of wears off seeing this sell for thirty three fifty is an enormous enormous price yeah considering what i was selling some other alexa bliss on card auto one zero one's for around this number i i'm really curious alexa's got such a strong market and rightfully so how many crazy super collectors are there oliver there's gotta be more than mean yeah there's gotta be at least ten of them and i get it alexa is if you've watched wrestling like like we have you know she's had such a wonderful career she's fun to watch and it's hard not to be a fan to root for her but man her market just continues to go wow a car like this i would guess two grand tops two grand i i had it like fifteen hundred yeah that's why i said tops i'm like you know but man thirty three fifty whoo it's almost double what i expected and like the photo is great on the cards the design of the cards is awesome like i really like this set i i've tried to collect as many as i can and like just getting the base set i think brian thc sports cards was was collecting the base set like so i think like people are this is the first ever tops national wrestling card that we've seen so i mean like there's some value in that but the photo is great alexa has all of these super collectors i know zappy is a big collector i know there's a bunch of other people so i mean like she has her fans for sure but usually the fans are very particular about what type of cards they're buying and this was not the one that i expected to sell for this much but huge price either way another big sale speaking of another big sale from the national set as well this is the asuka super fracture autograph sold for twenty five hundred dollars via best offer so either somebody is going and buying all of these super fractures and just maybe it doesn't matter who it is or another one of the major oscar collectors wanted this at least her autograph is right side up which was has been a problem in the past they've put the stickers on upside down but this photo is awesome again all the photos in this set were meticulously chosen and well well received by collectors twenty five hundred dollars for an oscar superfractor autograph right on par with where their cards have gone but again maybe this national set has more legs than we were expecting i don't know i mean i again there is a good oscar market she has a worldwide one this makes me go i don't do ebay anymore but i had that flawless auto when she won the title on card and it was more than twenty five hundred but it wasn't crazy more maybe i'm too cheap maybe i need to throw her in ebay because i don't know she's not in wwe anymore again she is the market but i don't i i i wish obviously they could have been on card obviously they couldn't so at least we're getting autogast of everybody but yeah i can i'm with you the images are amazing in this they they really knocked out the part of the images for what they did with this yeah i i'm curious like i think so brian thz got the obafemi base super fracture i don't know if he got the autograph he's picked up a number of these super fractures at his table at the national so you know there's some competition floating around for these but like at some point i'm curious like because you got randy orton you know i know chris also pulled the jay uso like there's there's a bunch of these major names that are in this set like there were a lot of big names in this set so we'll have to see like if they are gonna come to market what the you know sort of sales settle at because i'm definitely worried when becky eventually surfaces how much that's gonna go for so at least she got the base one yeah i did yeah that was good at least she got that one so alright let's again a little bit of a short show today because i gotta head to the airport to fly home but i wanna do a title match topic real fast here close out our podcast for this week i think now the big summer shows are done what is your strategy sort of as a dealer and a collector sort of coming into the fall and winter and more importantly has your perspective changed with time since last week on the national and its impact overall recovery i'm still recovering yeah that's the keyword no so obviously you know national ends and we pivot we have other things we do we have holiday mania coming up here in november which is big for us we'll start prepping that but so really it's been getting more stuff for us on our website and store neil price two two rows four of wrestling cards sorry they were already priced they're on the website now we're trying to get more things out that hey we held this for national it came back not a bad thing some of this stuff needs to get out to get eyes on it strategy wise right now normally i get back on the horse come october to start prepping for next year however breaking news i'm making a thirty hour roughly not even thirty hour trip to dallas in september i'm a fly in early on thursday and fly back friday night i'm already gonna be back to the drawing board i've strategically got ideas for next year for the national i i'm there's a there's a possibility that i do fanatics fest next year yep which is a possibility where i may make it only wrestling driven so their ideas right now i personally it takes me a little bit of time to rebrain myself re recharge i guess is the word i'm saying so but we've got universe coming we've gotta get back to things we're focusing on the shop products everything like that so for us it's just just really kinda get back on the tracks and focus on what we need to do here get more things out stay on top of the market for product there there's just a lot of moving pieces that go on here daily for what we do but don't you worry i'm gonna try to come back next year to the national bigger and better than ever with awesome new stuff it is a year project but i do take a couple months myself yeah and and you guys just went through the topps chrome update basketball release i'm sure in shop was insane lots yes yeah yeah the uber flag was pulled so maybe that dies down a little bit but i i can only imagine what that release was like for you guys it was it was nuts but again awesome to see it came out of a hobby shop out of a hobby box i love that i know they're breaking the line but it's a shop in rhode island from my understanding and came out of a hobby which is just great we're seeing some amazing things come out of retail that's one thing i will let people know like you can go rip retail top skews especially wrestling and pull oh garbage pail kids guards filled numbers super fractures great stuff topps is doing a great job loading in hobby type product cards into retail skews and getting the awareness out there that way and i i love what they're doing with that yeah i think for me just looking back on a couple weeks ago because i again i'm back in chicago but when you're back in chicago keep going adam we're here come on i wanna come on so i think it it just i it's sort of landed with me like just how epic that week was and just being able to go to the national pick up the cards that i did go to wrestling card takeover drive back go to summerslam see all the people like i mean i i just think about that i've i usually when you sort of get out of the show you get into sort of that hangover mode you get into recovery and then it sort of starts like all the adrenaline starts to wear off and you know there's no more adrenaline in your soul and so i think it's something that now looking back on it i'm like i never really got to appreciate like how much fun that week really was and i think that was just it's gonna stay with me for a while but also sort of coming into this like i've had a lot of opportunity i know ryan picked up a big card for me while i was at a baseball thing this week i'm excited to get that one i have the the becky papa pink papa one zero one auto sitting at my house now so i'm can't wait to get that papa georgio papa georgio yeah going back to get that was sent to me via you know renee in germany thanks for that deal so i think like you know there's a lot of things that i'm going back on now and just saying like okay now that we've had this little bit of a breather which is good to go and sort of go into the fall and the winter with a focus on the cards that i wasn't able to get my hands on coming out of the releases earlier but the other things are like hey if you know universe is this is the second universe set we've seen in less than six months and obviously the delays impacted that so maybe i i'm not going as hard on breaks but you know sort of focusing on singles but you know it it's a less expensive product i hope that we get more of those types of products coming out so that we can have sort of that balance and i think topps is probably gonna look with stadium maybe go with stadium club next i think stadium club is gonna be an interesting release to see how collectors receive it because usually it's insanely popular because of the photos and the on card autographs and stuff like that so i'm curious to see how that performs but the fall and winter is gonna be with sort of that build up to the royal rumble if we can continue to see obafemi perform at the way that he has and i know you guys you know have talked about on the last week's podcast about how you weren't able to keep any of his cards in stock because everybody's on the hunt like i think strategy wise coming into the fall and the winter just like i think that's only gonna get more and more magnified as it becomes clear that if he's in the royal rumble he's going to win so i think that's a a a curious thing but i'm excited i i think we're in a good spot on both tv shows now i think wrestling with this cena auction is gonna get a ton of eyes and you know we could see some major changes happening in the next couple of months especially if we get more information on dynasty and what's gonna be included in there and we've all we've been talking about that set now for a while because they announced it at the industry conference but you know maybe that gets pushed out and we get some others cool stuff in between i don't know there's a lot of moving pieces i know tops is is wrestling with no pun intended but i think the you know this winter is gonna be very key to see if that scene to auction really has lasting impact if ria goes for a ton of money as well hopefully it does for darius like all of those things could really create a perfect storm for for our space and you guys if you're listening to this podcast you're already in the early adopter sort of mindset here so con congratulations if you will right you just made the list you just made the list yeah those are all great points and again i'm excited for the kind of the the fourth quarter with what happens and again i think we're i think that i'm with you i i don't think the breaking i don't think i'll go as heavy on universe i'll break with a few people that i break with but i i i i think we're all itching for dynasty we we've been waiting and i think that is gonna be the next big big if not the biggest i mean we knew royalty was gonna have the the legs it had but dynasty from my understanding that's gonna have summerslam yeah summerslam relic so and dynasty the name in itself excited to see what those look like i'd love to see some mock ups come up soon on that i think i think we're itching so bad for it yeah exactly can't
