it's episode thirty eight yes it is welcome to another episode the vikings are vikings minnesota vikings are coming off another win beating the oh fifty nine point chicago bears only letting up three points against them i think we're in a good mood we're wearing our vikings gear again i guess as long as the vikings win we're gonna do this but i think we've got this is our last week likely oh yeah gotta have faith man i mean we got a bag with some of the way but how we doing adam doing great got a jam packed show today really excited to have after a lot of sort of missed connections we have tim could not have been more crazy but i think we're kind of in this period now where the tv is sort of like setting up the second half of the year now so like things are slower there so we're gonna kinda fly through the wrestling stuff and get onto the card market high spots because this is probably one of the bigger weeks we've had since doing this podcast i wanna make sure we have enough time to cover it plus i've got a really interesting title match topic for us to talk about so this is a high high spot we're coming off of this weekend my friend very high spot yep so i think like from a wrestling point of view we're gonna sort of just go and say alright basically they moved all these belts around last week we weren't likely gonna see a lot of stuff happen this week but i did see that out of i didn't even get a chance to to watch smackdown because i was driving to a baseball tournament one of the last ones of the year so i did see that sammy and ko wrestled i saw kinda what happened why are they already wrestling for the title despite having no buildup and obviously i think this is the match that sammy's title reign needs to have to be sort of successful and they're having it on a smackdown a week after he wins i don't have an answer if i did i don't think i could give a legitimate answer on this i don't know what's going on with this whole hey we need to put the belt back on sammy we need to rush into their match here i don't know what direction they're going right now are they really gonna have sammy hold the belt to saudi seems like it's possible but i don't know man i'm i'm a little thrown off by what they're trying to accomplish with this yeah i agree and like smackdown's back to this type of lull that really just bores me to tears and i they're gonna go back to three hours we've said that a number of times here i'm just not feeling it i don't like watching a show where there's like not something big happening and it just feels like they've turned down the volume over the last couple weeks after centimeters punk came back to smackdown and won the title was carrying it i thought they were running hot and then here we go again it's just like this okay okay okay fine you know type of a show oh and then you get one more hour like you said this is it's it's it's really unfortunate just when we thought they totally redeemed themselves they really did not totally redeem themselves yeah so then flipping over to raw i mean we're in these we're in these shows where like half of each of these shows is taken up by the qualifying matches they're all triple threat matches so it can be all sorts of crazy shit that goes down but like i mean for the most part the matches have been okay like this one on raw that happened on monday like so they had dragon lee they had dominic mysterio and solo sikoa then nine four six gets really involved in it and pulls solo sikoa out of the match which fine great he doesn't need to to lose because they absolutely needed to add penta to this match yep this is their opportunity to do it in a you know a a very friendly town in san antonio i've been to shows in that arena it's awesome but again like if dominic mysterio and penta wrestle that's a big deal and like i think that match is a match i now absolutely have to see like as soon as possible because that them together have amazing chemistry adding dragon lee in there felt like they're taking away something like i felt like the match when dragon lee was wrestling took away from the overall presentation because dominik and penta are so good at what they do and they were feeding off of each other the crowd really got into when they started facing off this is what i don't like about these triple threat matches and i really wish that we it we i hope we eventually get to see no i think i think that's wwe's way of teasing of hey what this could look like but we're not gonna give it to you just yet so i think i i'm okay with that with that since now that you left that match you go oh i need to see this match happen that was the point they wanted people to go this is a match i need to see i didn't realize i need to see until now i need to see a one zero one match to these two yeah i agree that's a good point i would so right now agree with me this is awesome i'm already up to a good start today i i i they're also setting up this triple threat match that they've been planning for for the women which is stephanie vakaire liv morgan and becky lynch they've moved the title around i don't know if they're gonna move it again but i really liked what they did with those three women but i wish it was just the only judgment day segment we had on the show because there were three others and it's just like by the time that segment got to raw it was the right before the main event we had already seen judgment day like three or four times at that point it was just like it took away from the the gravitas of what they were presenting because i thought it was really good like i thought the care did well i thought liv morgan shockingly did well i thought becky did well obviously because i love what becky usually does on the mic otherwise i wouldn't collect her so i think like that match is gonna be good there's a reason for that to be a triple threat they've really booked that well it's one of the more clear storylines that they've told so far on raw outside of like roman and la knight which again another sort of good match i'm eager to see but outside of that i thought raw was really weird and really sort of it felt like there was only like twenty people there for the whole roster and so they were really struggling because they had the vision out twice they had judgment day out four times it was like monday night factions and the bloodline and nine four six there's literally eight factions they had on the show it was like watching attitude air but you actually wanted to see stone cold four or five times the rock four or five times you actually wanted to see these these wrestlers on quite a bit versus you know you love seeing liv morgan four or five times don't you on tv right well no she was it was it was roxanne perez and and but yes i know what you're saying but like there were literally like eight faction segments on monday night raw and there's like eight of them running around it felt like what was the survivor series where it was like gang rules or whatever like that's oh god that's kind of what it felt like i can't remember now the the men's match is now jevon evans which will be great braun trick penta which is my person that i've picked then you've got the women's which is sol lullabies jc jane and now roxanne perez these matches are shaping up to be great how many more they got to enter in as in order to to okay oh okay so i thought i'm a be honest i am loving roxanne perez in this i am yes for it i right now with those four i think clear i think she is the one i think she could still be the one to win this i think she's one that could she's gay momentum she's yeah and we need that way if like if pinto wins for the guys you have a face win and then you have a heel win with the women's because you wanna have like that ruthless cash on raw then then you've got both briefcases on raw yeah they can always do the trade off or draft or whatever but i mean i'm a be honest i it's roxanne's time it is she was so dominant in nxt i i've i've talked so much about nxt but i'm telling you you could watch these people develop down there roxanne was just so good in nxt and i'm glad to see she's gonna potentially get her moment if if it's in money in the bank i just want her away from judgment day like keep her as a heel keep her as a face i don't really care just get her away from judgment day she they don't need an like a third woman in that group and like even what they're doing with obafemi i thought that segment was fine but the vision was on like two or three times and like oba being stuck in the vision vortex is is not something that i'm looking for like it doesn't do anything for him and i hope he gets out of there as quickly as possible gotta kill time until next year man they're gonna figure it out now too long now you got him and jovan kinda teaming up this is interesting okay yeah but maybe they win the tag titles yay oh yay it it's it's not getting over where he needs to but i think they're receiving him for the big moment let's be honest so i think if if i had to handicap i think they're gonna do a multiple team war games for the first time since nxt i think they could do like the nine four six which is like royce keys' crew so there's three of those guys there's three bloodlines guys then there's like solo sikoa la knight and who is the third one on their team it's why am i drawing a blank right now i'm a gosh i am too but there's a third guy there too so maybe they do like a a three team men's war game match to switch it up which i think would be very important because i thought war games has gotten really stale and really predictable ever since the bloodline where they did the bloodline with sami zayn like that was probably the best war games yeah that was war games and it's gone way downhill since then alright let's move on to some card market stuff because again we're trying to keep this a little short we had not one but two mega sales go down we've talked about these a lot over the last few weeks as the auctions has played out john cena's wrestlemania patch autograph one of one on golden summer one hundred has sold for get this three hundred twenty nine thousand four hundred dollars you and i when we started this both were about at the two to two fifty range we almost got six figures above that i i think you and i both are thinking that it's gotta be somebody that like a karl anthony towns or whatever would have bought this i we have not gotten any word as to who the actual owner is we don't know who that is or what that looks like but this john cena card has set every record by almost triple the previous record curious what your reaction is seeing first on john cena then we'll get to rhea ripley yeah well first off i will say to our listeners i was a bidder on this at the beginning adam knew this i bid on at the beginning of it i had full attention to go for this card but i kinda put my max bin in and i was shocked to see it was outbid within like what two weeks left at the auction yeah and i was like okay i'm good i've already said if it goes over this number i'm walking away there's a lot more things i'm gonna put my money into and so yeah i did i didn't win but i'm completely happy to see what it went for i hope the person who won it is happy with what they have coming their way just an amazing moment for the wrestling card history for what we just got to witness i had a feeling it could do over three hundred well here we are it did yep all all bets on the table were were very much in the six figure range i think very few people believed that it was going to get to this amount same thing happened with the rock right because when the rock was up for auction everybody was like oh it's a fifty thousand dollar card forty thousand dollar card ends up going for hundred and twenty seven k you were the underbidder on that card you're an underbidder here not the underbidder no not the underbidder but yes i was yeah so like i mean like guys i think it it goes without saying that everybody is gonna offer their opinions they're gonna say all the things that they want but in the end it just comes down to like the the demand that exists for these high market cards and when you look at the vip velvet rope area of the hobby this is still very very low like they're they're like you're not even in the entrance to the club yet when you're talking about general sports cards because there were multiple cards in that auction that sold for seven figures there were multiple cards over the course of the last couple of weeks that have sold for that including pokemon cards including other non sport cards like there's the market is going nuts right now and some people are saying it's unhealthy fine some people are saying these are real sales whatever it's money laundering whatever you wanna say the rumors are regardless there i have talked to a number of people who bid on this card and bid high on this card because they recognize the importance of it like i think this was probably pretty organic of a number which is really cool to see for wrestling cards yeah i i believe in wrestling cards i believe in years that's why i went for the rock years ago i we know when this was announced that this card was coming i even though i'm not yeah obviously orton is my go to he's my number one but the significance behind this and we've talked about this we've beaten a dead horse how much we talked about the significance of this card one thing people gotta remember and we've talked about this there is no logo mans in wwe there's no logo mans when i have done basketball cards my whole life football baseball there are logo mans or logo man or whatever you wanna call it to those and those could be replica you're logo men logo man logo man those could be replicated over and over there is not something to replicate now that topps has implemented these wrestlemania patches now the summer slam patches debut patches are all obviously only a one time thing this is the closest we're going to get to a logo man so ie this may ever only ever be the only true john cena logo man esque type card in the hobby since he is never wrestling again we hope we hope he doesn't do a ric flair once come back at seventy five and still try to kick out the ring so i hope not let's stop but i think cena's done for good i think when he says he's done for good he's done for good oh yeah because he's got hollywood he's got a lot of money there he's a man of conviction for me also a man of hey i'll sign autographs and do whatever i can to keep keep living the you know the the party lifestyle able to sit at the bar twenty hours a day bingo bingo live the high life so no at the end of the day this is the only type of logo man type s card you're going to get of john cena unless and i hope god they did not put a wrestlemania patch on his suit for wrestlemania this year i don't think so but i am i'm not sure yeah but it's the same if they it is not the same the significance of what this went to for who he was i am excited to see this sale i think it really plants a flag oie i don't know what's on the next slide if you're talking about it but they put it on raw last night is that on the next slide did i ruin it i did look at me i i look i know this man too well i knew who's coming so we'll get there we'll we'll we'll find it yeah so i think like you brought up a a ton of really good points and i agree with all of them this is the premier wrestling card this is the premier wrestling card this is the premier wrestling set nothing will ever touch kind of what topps has been able to do here i did see that cody rhodes has started signing this coming year's royalty wrestlemania patch autograph check out i i did post it on twitter so at sc uncensored at sc uncensored on twitter i did post a photo of what the cards look like for this year i think the design is great i i mean these cards look awesome and i've seen them in hand i've held this john cena it's a great card i mean it it will stand out on any shelf it'll stand out in any display case somebody is definitely seeing the the the impact of this card the other one that sold was rhea ripley and i don't know do you want to like give your thoughts here or or how do you wanna appreciate this here sure i won the rhea ripley i bid on it and i expected this car to do more i expected to get outbid i don't know i know there's a lot of thoughts on this a lot of people said this is a fifty thousand seventy five thousand this is over a hundred this is a hundred and fifty everybody gave their thoughts and opinion and darius said hey we're gonna find out what it's worth we're gonna throw it out there we're gonna see what this is worth well this is what it went for am i thrilled that i got it for the price i did absolutely but i also as a friend of darius i wanted to see him to get as much money as possible i don't know if this was left under the radar even though it was on the same platform the same thing as ascena did we knew that that cat was interested in the ria because obviously i had somebody reach out at the time that darius pulled it but i don't know i i don't know what to think on this i think this card has a lot of upside i know the significance behind this is not there as in cena and oie we're gonna get several more wrestlemania patch on as a ria however i have the first of its kind i'm gonna pair with the orton i have full intention to keep it match it was a great match it was a great match and i have full intention to keep it but there is obviously one person that if i ever wanna move it to and ie we're good friends with steve mox sam wwe he would be the only person i would ever consider moving it to but i think it went undersold i mean i really do but that's my opinion adam what are your thoughts i i do too and i i i wanted darius like we had darius on the podcast you obviously heard the enthusiasm he has for wrestling cards and for the hobby and everything so good on him for for for handling the wiz this the way that he has he's been great and and promoting it like we promoted it we've talked about it almost every week on this podcast for a reason because we love what what it represents and i think on the on the flip side of cena which has a ton of controversy attached to it ria is completely the opposite amazing story on the ria yeah yeah it's a great story and so i think like with with with this card specifically like you know i would say rhea is going to be an all timer i don't think that there's like she's already won like four or five titles like she she's gonna be an all timer this is a a massive card it's the first of its kind she's gonna have one this year she'll have one theoretically for years to come but there's always something about this hobby in first and i wanna stress this thing and i tell this to ryan every single time each of these cards has its own market and so i don't think and so i was gonna do for our title match topic i was gonna talk about like how do you respond to people who say well if cena sold for this then what is mine brett did an awesome show yeah go listen to it he covered it better than i could but i will say this that each of these cards has its own market so just because ria we think is understalled doesn't mean that every other card is all of a sudden worth you know less or more or whatever same thing on the flip side for cena so i would not draw any conclusions overall but i will say that on monday night raw which ryan alluded to i ruined it if you ruined you stole the thunder they talked about this card on the raw broadcast so during monday night raw they talked about this sale they mentioned tops they mentioned the importance of the card they showed a photo of it they showed the sale that's the first time i think i've ever seen that happen they mentioned the rock's sale from from twenty twenty three so i mean like obviously wwe is invested in this too they have to get the relics onto the gear of the superstars so it it makes sense that they're trying to make sure that people understand what's out there and with club wwe and everything that's going on like fanatics and wwe are tied at the hip for good reason and they have really brought some insane stuff to market here yeah something i didn't expect to see i don't think any of those card people thought that was gonna happen that was kinda cool to see last night i also think it's a shot at me like hey we're gonna talk about the two big cards the biggest wrestling cards in history that both brian you missed you lost out on bidding so game first or last no i i actually thoroughly was upset that i missed on the rock i'm not upset about the scene i said this is what i'm willing to pay if it goes this great i put a bid in on the ria i said if it goes over this great that's on in the next person these are the numbers i felt comfortable with but it's weird to win the ria and actually wish that it went for more for your friend is like it's just fun it's a hard time to do it's but it's all it's kinda come full circle and i was texting ria with darius that night i was like well i i want it you know he's like dude congrats i'm i'm happy for you and and i was like you know he said to myself i wish it would've went for more man i was pulled free he's like hey here's what it is it's a great story i was into it for hundred something bucks it was fun to watch in a in a moment i don't think i'll ever forget so we get to share that moment we counted together we're tied together even more now in our in our time of getting to know each other the past year always look on the bright side of life do you have to do that alright one other thing here i i wanna talk about the stadium club preorder because that went off on this this week for tops and so we got an a second product in a row that's under a hundred and fifty dollars a preorder stadium club two autographs a box you get it's a hundred and twenty nine ninety nine they had it for hobby fifty dollars for a mega which is new this with this product well actually it's new the whole product is new so scratch that blasters are thirty buck thirty bucks there's all sorts of fun stuff we also found out today that the beam team cards are retail exclusive we'll talk about that a little bit with tim here in a second and like i i think stadium club tugs at a lot of different heartstrings for a lot of different people because we all grew up with this brand and it's been in baseball for years it's been in in almost every sport and i think bringing it to wwe with the chrome inserts and the autographs and everything like that all on card great photography it looks like i'm i'm really thinking that this could be a big set for people who are looking for an affordable banger for their for their sort of ripping experience and not having to drop three hundred bucks on this right so i i'm gonna be asked looking at these cards and that seth rollins just screams my name but i am so excited for this release the more and more that's coming out about the fact that they've implemented stadium club club into it i'm gonna show our age here nineteen ninety one stadium club is the first of its kind in baseball my dad to this day when i told him not to ever get he got the complete set of ninety one stadium club back then the big rookie guy named jeff bagwell was the big rookie how about frank thomas i thought that was frank was in the second year thomas was frank thomas was nineteen ninety jeff bagwell was ninety one i'm a give you some education my dad at that time in nineteen ninety one said this is a revolutionary set it's gonna change sports cards forever and it's gonna be worth so much money one day well dad it ain't worth crap but it is still revolutionary it's still awesome the photography is why we love stadium club sold for my nostalgia oie beam teams we talked about already then we're gonna talk more later today about it with tim i am so excited i wanna start throwing my money at this product right now and i wanna rip it and i wanna join breaks i did not i loved universe but with universe i said i was gonna take a different stand approach i was gonna join a few breaks and then buy the cards i wanted i'm gonna buy the orton case hits all that stuff this is a product that i wanna rip multiple cases i wanna join tons of breaks and i wanna have fun because it it looks beautiful oh and the on cards cannot look at this cosigners cosigners we are cosigners in wrestling guys if you know what cosigners is it started in baseball in like nineteen ninety seven i think it was i'm showing my other age here but this to me gets me excited for my nostalgia as a kid collecting cards yeah the cosigners card looks it's my favorite card that they did for the previews i knew it would be because that liv morgan right there is not your favorite card i call bs i don't i know i know i know card is all you the the auto designs i think leave a little to be desired but the the cosigner's card looks absolutely awesome i love beam team i've seen some of what they're planning for that it looks great for a retail insert i feel i'm feeling like action packed like they did with chronicles i i hope that that's the way that it's done with with beam team i hope that they do fun stuff with that parallel but man the this set is gonna is gonna hit a lot a lot of people the right way in the right spots and you mentioned it i i can't wait for it i think the checklist is gonna have danhaus in the autographs as tim mentioned before on last week's podcast tim trout not tim benito and i think that there's gonna be a lot of chase here there's a lot of good stuff and it's only a hundred and thirty dollars a box preorder which means probably ends up about one seventy five two hundred on the secondary market depending i think they probably made quite a bit of this they may sure made quite a bit of universe but like if you if you look at like the slammed inserts from universe there's only like fifteen to twenty of those a piece i have a feeling there's gonna be some level of case in this that will echo that so you're gonna have like high level chases in addition to a lot of the other stuff so let me ask you this universe right now is trending in about we're about two and a quarter box and it's doing great at that would you rather up universe at two and a quarter or stay stadium club because you know the market's gonna dictate it it's gonna go up these are gonna be about two hundred plus a box would you rather rip those or do you wanna go a step up and do topps chrome at like three three i don't know what they're at three and a quarter right now yeah they're but i'm saying like i mean but i'm saying would you rather rip stable starting fresh starting fresh i'm chrome all the way but that's only because i'm a shiny collector there's chrome elements in this and i don't know much i don't know enough to tell you yet i would say universe at two twenty five is not good and i would say the reason that it's not good is because the checklist is really big and and i'm not a huge fan of some of the way that the autographs are are structured in there but like yeah you can get a really bad box of universe at at two twenty five and be just like there's nothing else in the box to get you excited i think with stadium club there's some stuff in the box like even if it's at one seventy five or two twenty five or whatever you still get the two on card autos but all the base cards and all the photography and the chrome inserts and stuff like that i'm still probably leaning stadium club only because of my nostalgic connection to it but i don't think universe is bad if it was one fifty one seventy five where it was meant to be it's just the market is dictating that there's a lot of demand so you know it happens yeah what is your thoughts and your opinion on i mean are you are you leaning more universe or stadium i i can tell you no i think i would be more steam club chrome and also the element that steam club chrome can offer is sorry steam club with the chromes there'll be should be super fractures to go with those there are yeah and that's the point where you're gonna gonna get that super factor element i love the case hits in universe this year i think they do i do too phenomenal job on those but i've taken the stance of i wanna just track down what i want this is a product because i think the parallel building in this is gonna be a lot more because you're gonna get a gold base for the nonchrome and you'll get a super fracture like i said this rowan's image is absolutely big here for me i love that yeah i wanna touch on this briefly because we got news this week a lot of collectors out of nowhere seemingly like an rko yeah like an like an rko got an email from panini that a lot of their cards were either being replaced if they had redemptions or shipped so we mentioned on the podcast i think a couple of weeks ago that roman reigns had signed for panini we've got the output of that now heading out i've gotten i had forty fifty cards from becky lynch's absence that were redeemed with panini they took care of some of those with replacements because becky didn't sign i i'm generally pleased i think the only thing i wanted to talk about is like it's it's mostly like roman reigns it's it's becky lynch it's triple h it's like people that were redemptions for a long period of time they did a good job at the end of of getting a lot of this done but here's what people are people are angry like no one is gonna be a hundred percent happy here everybody redeemed the cards expecting one thing they're probably getting something else unless you are one of the lucky few that actually had the roman reigns that were signed because he did sign a considerable amount of immaculate and i think he signed some stickers and i think he signed a few other things so panini is fulfilling some of those cards but everybody else including myself with like eight one of ones pending with panini probably walking away a little bit disappointed i'm never gonna see what could have potentially been on card wwe logo one of ones from impeccable stuff like that number pieces or the number cards whatever i don't know if that anger at panini is really a little bit misdirected and i posted this on twitter because i wanna walk through sort of the the story here late in twenty twenty one we got news that panini had re acquired the wwe license by the top the april the first week of april was the expected release of prism literally four days before that fanatics announced that they had acquired the trading card license that was going into place the second panini lost their rights which was at the time unknown but we eventually found out was going to be january or december thirty first of twenty twenty five so one one twenty six so the beginning of this year panini was supposed to get control of the wwe license around the end of twenty twenty three or twenty twenty two wwe sued panini and for for breach of contract a bunch of other stuff the lawsuit was public and paul lesko covered it on twitter they stopped signing cards for a while six to twelve six to eight months almost and from that point forward even though they had cards resumed in twenty twenty three with elite and with that was the first setback after the lawsuit was settled they had a relatively you know good relationship getting stuff fulfilled there was still this overall tension that had to exist because one side took legal action against the other and what we didn't know until late in twenty twenty four was that the license date as part of the settlement had moved from one one twenty six start for tops to now one one twenty five for tops so not only did puneet have a year less to get all of this backlog cleared out they had this strained relationship over legal action i'm not sure if being angry directly at panini is really the right course of action here where i think they probably struggled is not getting out a little bit more ahead of this but i know legal action was still pending and bunch of stuff was going down with their antitrust lawsuits so i think there's a lot of stuff behind the scenes that collectors will never really understand but i'm happy we're getting something so that was a lot that was my take on it i'm curious what your take is yeah one thing to remember is you know not only did this happen at wwe panini obviously knew that the timetable on football and basketball was coming to an end in the future so i'm sure prioritizing yes they they prioritize football and basketball over wwe rightfully so it is in the hobby it it is what it is huge yeah yes and it it's unfortunate yes i think the cooperation wasn't there for panini and obviously the relationship was kind of tarnished oh how are you know why wouldn't you wanna work with a company that's suing you you know but you right have a you know obligation and a legal contract to do so so it was unfortunate and i think panini did not get the full opportunity that they could have really done it we all sit there and say man those years panini had but look at what they accomplished accomplished yes with what they had to work with they turn i don't know milk into butter or however you wanna call it they they made something out of nothing not out of nothing but they just lost it like we all know the earlier stuff they were that used stuff they had this they had that a lot more on card and then oh i e this crap goes down so then they didn't get the cooperation they couldn't get the stuff anymore so panini's position right now this is something where you and i know a little bit more we're not gonna divulge much but this has been something they've been trying to accomplish for a while now and now it's finally unrolling out they're doing the best they can with what they have and i would credit them they think they don't they're trying to make the best they know not everybody's gonna be happy a lot of people are gonna be pissed off but what can they do they can't they they were able to get wait if you had a roman redemption you you you should be happy that they got it done made whole yeah you've been made whole they got the deal done with roman that was important they knew that the triple h deal wasn't gonna happen but oh triple h didn't have all the years like roman is those redemptions the one thing that we got screwed out of is that we did not get roman's reign flawless autos i think that was the biggest yeah takeaway that we shoulda got was getting roman reigns flawless autos and that wasn't on panini so i'm not sitting here defending panini i'm not saying anything that's for the tops for fanatics what i'm trying to say is if you were put in the same position their intentions will probably be the same as panini try to honor the best we can to take care of as many people as we can with let's look at this this is a one on one how can we compute to make this we know it's not gonna be the card you're supposed to get i know you as a becky lynch collector you would rather have those cards all day over monetary any day but you understand as also a as a human being that hey i get the situation and this is better than nothing this is hey what what if they just said pete he goes hey you get points you get points i'm jinx i think i like i think i think that that was what i was expecting i was very worried i wanted something because i i mean like we've all like for a lot of us we've put five figures worth of time and effort and money into this stuff and to see when i i looked at my account i've been sitting on some redemptions for three four years at this point and like i wanted something and i i think i was entitled to something panini did i've seen some of what i'm getting not hopefully not all of it and i think everybody is like this is kinda bittersweet but it's a lot of flawless it's a lot of immaculate it's a lot of good stuff that they've probably had at a qc closet or whatever and they're trying to make good and i give them credit for that so i know we're not coming in here to to really be the right knights for panini and i know their their logo is a knight but we are not trying to do that but i've always tried to see the how and the why behind a lot of the decisions that are made in this hobby many collectors just only care about what's in front of them so if you're listening to this podcast i think you're probably part of the five to ten percent of people that has interest in understanding why things are happening the way that they are so i wanted to take some time on the podcast today as more of this develops this week i'm sure we'll come on next week and spend a little bit more time on it we had a special guest so we don't have as much time today to dedicate to it tune in next week maybe we'll have a little bit more feedback hopefully to waffle house times and we're still three hours away so so we had some big sales outside of the two that we've already talked about we had now i want i brought this one in this was like the top sale of the week outside of the big ones and it's a a no name alexa bliss insert from twenty twenty three prism it's the top tier black one of one it's a psa ten sold on on ebay i didn't check to see if this was sabotage so my apologies but i just wanted to say like there was enough action on this bids that it got above thirty five hundred dollars it sold for thirty six twenty seven but i don't i i didn't check to see if the terrorists got it or not but i was just like shocked that a no name insert from like a random you know panini set is getting this much money guys watch out for the panini stuff it's gonna flood the market because they're sending out a ton of replacements buy what you can't afford because i promise you once it dries up it is gone for good just i'm putting that out there thoughts yeah no i actually have got some things in my search and i set up yesterday to prepare for what i know is coming there are certain cards i am looking for that i have full intention to put back but talking about this card this has to be one of the most plain j in yes plain jane insert cards panini ever made for wrestling and we are looking at if legit thirty six hundred dollars yes to bsa ten but yes it's like this insert does nothing for me i'm sure same thing yeah abs this is one of the worst prism inserts that exist speaking of a weird sale a weird sale so traditionally golds sell for more than they should even though they're out of fifty for tops because of what panini did for the gold parallel in prism and select it sort of transfers over to tops so as a result parallels like the orange kind of fly under the radar but here we have a psa ten hulk hogan autograph from twenty twenty five chrome the orange refractor sell for thirty two hundred dollars which is a ridiculous price but i think like if you look at what a gold would sell for based on this you're probably at a five thousand dollar mark in a psa ten give or take this orange matches his spray tan which i think is funny but i think like it's like i was shocked to see this number yeah it's only thirty two hundred dollars we've covered multiple tens of thousands of dollars worth of sales on this show already and other weeks where chrome sales i mean the the super fracture sold for thirty five grand like i'm really curious like people are buying goats like this is the goat market and this is one of the last on card autographs that hulk hogan ever signed i think that carries some volume what you know one thing people forget is yes they've had multiple years of tops from wwe hogan's only done was it only two long card years he did this year's stickers fifteen twenty fifteen twenty and then twenty twenty five yeah i think that's and then this year he had the stickers that are rolled over this is two years two types so it's not many no it's not you know and and yes hogan was a common signer but when you factor the element of what the name is topps chrome yes matches his spray tan hundred percent despite that that's a color match if i've ever seen that's a a really awesome color match that's a color match but no i i i yeah the goats man i mean love him or hate him i mean he's he's an all time great i mean he's a good about it last week yeah for sure last one i'm gonna cover here there i've we're gonna i'm gonna get into the title match topic you'll see why i put this card on here so this is the john cena autograph jumbo relic from topps royalty twenty twenty five it's an awesome patch it's the fa part of his shirt from the farewell tour sold for thirty two hundred dollars via fixed price on ebay awesome card brett just bought one i think he shared it on instagram or if he has i'm sorry i'm spoiling it but these cards are so cool i don't think he'll mind royalty is on the come up we've said it will happen because the singles will dry up even though they're higher number than flawless they'll singles will dry up especially as twenty twenty six comes into focus now they've started to sign it we've started to see them like these cards are going to go up in value and that's exactly what we're seeing i put back a lot of royalty i kept all my from what i correct all the relic autos and the estates yeah i mean yes we're getting more years of royalty but let's be honest flawless was all over the market and then dried up and that's getting harder to find it i mean yes this is equivalent to looking at like a star swatch but you know it's not a star swatch it's not false but this is event use and that scene of relic is very important what that cert is from i think it's from indianapolis okay it has the blue and the white yeah so it's it's a gray card they have one from his belgium stop i know those got used in this set as well because we've seen the burgundy and the yellow and gold and whatever so these cards are awesome but i wanna get into the title match topic because it speaks to the importance of royalty let's talk about the product release value and demand because i think most collectors in wwe are new to this understanding and i think because in sports you run a shop you know you know you've seen this a million times product is announced everybody's excited right everybody's excited oh my god here it comes we're getting this product so when it eventually goes live for preorder a couple of weeks later a month later if it's panini whatever hype is high so the demand is already high it sells out immediately at preorder then there's a gap because it comes down a little bit in between the preorder and release date at least historically it has so by the time but by the time it gets to release it's now above well above where where preorder was and everybody's that much more excited breaks are happening everything's on camera now there's a ton of hype in the market but over the next couple of weeks and months everything takes because it's post release saturation of the market of ebay of auction houses of everything so product even though the product itself sales stays the wax is staying high because the breakers are still ripping it all of the stuff that's coming out of the boxes comes way way down you're gonna see that with pokemon with nba nfl it doesn't matter high release day spikes followed by a big valley where i think this is where most collectors lose the plot they don't know to hold the cards if it's a certain type of set because it's going to start going up as the product and the auctions dry up so if you start to see things like topps chrome prism whatever there's only ten of certain of those cards once they're in collections especially in wrestling it's really hard to find them so all the values especially what we've seen with flawless now with royalty with kabooms with downtowns like the high demand stuff the desirable stuff starts to climb and climb faster now than it ever has agreed no i i love this conversation first off it reminds me of the roller coasters i was on this past saturday for my social media by the way i'm feeling those roller coasters still to this day no i think this is a great segment to talk about and what people need to understand is somebody like me that's done this for a very long time i i know when not to buy and when to buy it not saying i'm always right but what you don't wanna buy is on the absolute peak hype everything release day you know we're very much like oh that topps chrome we had a topps chrome ohtani variation orange factor twenty five come out of our blaster box like wow four thousand dollar card on like release day and the guy's like are you guys interested i'm like not a chance he's like really i'm like that is a great card your buyer is out there to pay that number it's not us i wanna buy that card a little bit later when five six or seven had surfaced and then you put that card back and tuck it up not i'm just using an example not saying it's something i would buy but royalty i i think a good one to to break out is and i'm gonna i know somebody's buying them up but i think i was telling him in dallas genius kendall gray relic autos and royalty absolutely genius they've gotten down to two hundred dollars or two fifty wow these were over a thousand dollars right fifteen hundred when the product came out that's a perfect example these are her rookie relic event used on card autographs if you believe in somebody like a kenna gray it's time to buy but what's gonna happen is in the next six months those two hundred dollars are gonna be four they're gonna be five they're gonna keep going up if her trajectory goes the way she does like we're seeing right now with flawless star swatches with w w b kabooms like you alluded to this is when melissa and lester hitting the open market because they're in collector's hands that's what happens perfect segment i love this yes so what i think collector are are struggling with is that there are three or four products ripe at a certain time so not only do you have this graph for one product you have this graph for like two or three products at a time and i think if you're a newer collector or you've just joined the hobby all of a sudden you've got three of these products to to monitor and you're not sure which of these arrows are gonna be going up at the drying up period or in which ones are kinda gonna settle out and settle down and i think that's where a lot of collectors struggle especially in wrestling cards because they've never really dealt with how the hype and and really content factory type of thing around these products can really drive up release date cost on on singles i've said for a number of years if it's out of ten there's gonna be one copy on the market easily within the first week if it's out of twenty five there could be as many as three so if you're buying that first one and i've been that buyer a lot just don't think that i'm pre practicing what i preach here like you're you're buying at the peak so if you are a seller selling at the peak is probably a good idea too no matter really what it is but not everybody rips literally right there the break has to ship it may have to go to ebay authentication whatever but i think like where a lot of people struggle is like there's like three of these products going at once and some products are more desirable than others right yeah no i i mean this is all again well said i think for anybody listening or following or whatever i think what adam's bringing out is is information that you need to know and the patience i mean today i was pricing some wrestling slabs and that they bought and there was a prism wrestlemania moments i think john cena gold psa nine to ten somebody just ran one the other day and it did like eighty bucks i was like i'll throw that back i'm looking at that right here seriously i would pay i'd buy every one of these for a hundred dollars and i'll look so you have to decide at that point if you're a collector resell whatever if that's the time to sell or not to sell to me no brainer throw it in the box but also that mojo to twenty five because chances are another twenty five is gonna hit the market but a gold is more collectible than a mojo yeah so i think that brings me to the last question i know we're already running really late so really number no really we we talk a lot here this podcast runs long hey adam can we keep it under a certain limit yeah i think we can we got lot to cover said we would try i said we would try i gotta go look at that text this is the this is the last this is the last slide which cards from which products are you likely to move quickly first that's that's number one k if you're asking me anything that's not numbered unless it's like a super rare case hit i'd move anything that's a not numbered or if it's numbered to like a a ninety nine for example something that could be readily available there all times but use topscomb for example non numbered autograph tops chrome how many chad gables are out there how many jada parkers how many of this i mean lola reid this is lola move move move move move unless you believe in a long term move move move move yeah so i would say gold gold maybe you you pause a little bit because gold just carries that extra weight but everything else like unless you're absolutely tied to the card and this goes back to the panini thing why are you redeeming cards that you know you're gonna have to wait six to twelve months for for like a a rikishi like yeah unless you collect rikishi and rikishi is your guy more power to you redeem the card but if you're just hey like i hit this i should redeem it not every redemption needs to be redeemed just let me say that they sell fine as redemptions what i would say is the only thing i would give pause on is the golds everything else if you're not collecting it just just move it like even if it's the undertaker stone cold steve austin like yes those cards may appreciate but they rarely touch that release day number it's when you especially if it's not a fifty or not of ninety nine that you can buy back for a cheaper price when that dip hits then you go back and get the card that you yeah it's not the one you pulled but it's very similar which ones are you holding i if you're gonna go probably number to ten and under of certain wrestlers traditionally be the ones i'd hold case hits really depends on the type of case hit it is it's there's so many things to hold but you gotta hold strategically the goats obviously i don't wanna just say one element because if i look and i think that card's doing stupid money even if it's number to ten i'm cashing out but if i think there's long term sustainability i'm gonna hold it so there's not just one type of variant i'm gonna hold i'm gonna really decide by looking at what the market's dictating on that but again traditionally gold keyword in our industry number to ten or less if it's a gold let's be honest black geometrics to two good luck finding those yeah oh i i oh i got him oh he's like oh black geometric thank you just brett's gonna listen and say you hit my heart too so yeah you're right you're right in the gun well i i think i have a no obviously i have a hogan black geometric to two which i know i have both ortons to two which i told brett when i go back to brigham it's like i would only move one because it's brett like i would rather just have both of them but i don't mind moving one because it's brett so i just gotta find out which one i wanna which one grades better but those black geometrics hold them yeah yeah hold them they're like my my advice here is look at the greater hop and i think like if you can find in the other sports which are the popular cards which people are gravitating towards what the market looks like in those sports if people are moving towards goats maybe you're holding your goats maybe you're holding those undertakers in stone colds if they're really low numbered if they're like out of ninety nine like get that up on ebay as soon as possible the other thing is people are trying to struggle with what to grade and what not to grade completely different conversation that's another thing because grading now takes six months like be very careful sending cards that are really high pop or even more so putting them on ebay as a seven day auction when they're out of like ninety nine or whatever like literally the worst decision you can make is if you could put it up with a short auction timer or a buy it now for the early collectors like me who will smash bins why are you putting it out there for seven day auction sure you might lose a hundred dollars if you misprice it but you could also capitalize on the fact that you're not having to wait seven days while eight others are listed right god i hate those release day seven day auctions they're the worst possible situation for a lot of people adam wants his becky lynch now now that's what he wants i want it now he is what's what is that veruca salt yes yeah i yeah i don't care how i want it now purple yes yes and by the way if the vikings keep winning we've already said like for the record i'm born and raised in st louis diehard vikings fan since ninety eight adam born and raised in minnesota he was born into it unfortunately i chose this so unfortunately for me i think it's worse because i i chose to be a vikings fan but we will continue to wear our purple yes we will be waiting win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win win i i this is a pretty short like finishing question because i think there's not many cards you wait and see on but those slammed type inserts where they're super short but it's so hard to find liquid silver like all of those things we talk about that a lot on this podcast like those are really the wait and see cards because again we would love to think that everybody listening to this podcast is a collector but most of us sell to fund our collections and like so you're ripping you're breaking you're just having fun opening packs like there's gonna be situations where you pull a card out of a pen you're like jeez i wonder what this is worth and you go and look at comps and there's nothing there because the product is brand new like you've you you pricing and selling and buying and everything is a is an art and there are picassos that are out there trust me but there is a lot of people who struggle with that we've talked about buying and selling in a hot market on this podcast before go back in the archives and listen but i think like those are number cases especially ones that have roots in other sports like there's gonna be ultra violets there's gonna be kaijus there's gonna be stuff coming to wrestling that has never come to wrestling before but you have a benchmark in other sports that you know about the one insert i love and i don't know if i talk about for reflections top stick oh yeah i it was funny today i you go back to ripping whenever i usually rip with my family i throw them in boxes and i have racks here at the shop and it's called like ryan's rip whatever and i just throw it up there and i forget about it and the other day i was like hey matt i know i got some star wars and disney out there i don't know what's there go at it pull out you know price what you want and then give me what i think today because basically did you know you had this so i had my favorite character in star wars all time is darth maul blake pulled me to darth maul oh see i i don't know i didn't know that till now so the more and more i find out man the only thing difference between me and you is ray park is awesome yeah nice nice set of hair versus your not yep kind of there it is not paul heyman yeah paul heyman so he comes over and he's like did you know he pulled this as the darth maul reflections but it's the twenty five version i was like oh yeah i do remember that it's not i'm not selling it because they anything that's like over fifty bucks they don't sell without my talking to me or whatever and i was like that needs to go to grading i meant to do that four months ago when i pulled the thing but that's kind of the point of it i i think those are cards that i believe in that i love my wife pulled the mickey mouse last year again there's so many elements i i hope tops can do that with some wrestlers like bret hart seth rollins la knight yeah for sure they need to be doing those bret hart with like shawn michaels i mean come on the in the pink glasses yes yes think about that so that would be awesome if they do it they heard it here first they cannot let them have the credit for that one they heard it here first so i i like there's gonna be like i just want everybody to understand we've already mentioned it i'm gonna mention it again there's gonna be a flood of panini stuff hitting the market it's gonna tank some of the cards but but but i i don't think that that's representative of the value and desirability of these cards i'm just i'm warning people now i said buy flawless i've said buy all the kabooms i've said buy all the stuff because there's only one and with prism there's only three years with some wrestlers there's only one year there's only two years whatever buy what you can afford because it's i'm not saying can't buy what you can afford because it is really important if if you are looking for equity to buy stuff for your pc this is a very unique opportunity that has never happened in any sport let alone in wrestling in a lot of ways where a a flood of highly desirable cards is coming to market i'm telling you guys pay attention i'm not giving financial advice that's not my goal here my goal here is to help out the collectors who are looking for an edge this is your warning shot bow where's your right so here we are so tim if just for those who aren't familiar i'm sure there's a lot of people who are familiar with card vault by tom brady but i don't know how many people are familiar with your story in the hobby and kind of how you got into sports cards but also more importantly with wrestling cards because you you have a very impressive collection i've i saw some of the things you got in chicago for the national convention i know we're still talking about that a couple of months later but talk about your story and kind of how you came to to our space and and kind of what your preferences are like how you collect and stuff like that yeah sure i mean listen you know there's kinda two two sides of this i'll keep the card vault side you know more brief because i wanna talk wrestling cards like that's where you know i'm with two of the two of the biggest wrestling card aficionados in the entire world i wanna talk wrestling cards but i love it you know we we we started you know cardvault during the pandemic and you know we're all there's four of us that are actually part of a larger entertainment business and you know all of our venues were shut down and you know at one point we we met chris costa who was really good friends with one of our other partners and you know formed cardvault and we started breaking online on instagram and you know during the pandemic and you know you had had all of us all partners like you know sorting cards in our in our office and just coming in during the pandemic and you know just really getting sort of into the understanding of the business i've been a collector my entire life you know i i there have been ebbs and flows of my collection you know based on my actual life happenings as well as based on you know sort of what's happening work wise but you know i've i've collected since i was a kid now i didn't collect wrestling cards i was into wrestling but you know i i didn't collect wrestling cards you know fast forward to about two years ago now and you know we partnered with tom you know met with tom and and basically we already had three stores and and and said to him listen we wanna make this a nationwide you know retail chain and he loved it and you know we're now about to open store number nineteen which is absolutely insane it's it's crazy i mean i i get i get up every day and sort of pinch myself and say my god i'm partners with tom brady and and four other incredible other partners that are are part of this business and you know i mean listen the market and what's happened the last two years the timing couldn't have been better i will say when we started this people thought we were crazy and you know are like you know that's the usual reaction yeah they're like they're like you're gonna open how many stores you're gonna do what like it you know i i think that i think there was a lot of you know resistance and now listen i have friends that aren't in the hobby that are sending me cooper flags new store sending me mo bamba store sending me stories about mark wahlberg opening things right and you know this has sort of been our vision for the last three plus years and you know it's it's now getting its due but man there's five plus years of work that have been put into this this didn't pop up overnight you know we have incredible partners incredible staff you know everybody that's part of either corporate or the stores are are absolutely amazing and and all are you know a huge part of the success so it's been awesome like really awesome i see you got that picture of coupe there look at that that's that's cool yeah i i i was perusing because you you post a lot of stuff on instagram you're one of my favorite people to follow because you do all sorts of stuff all over the world and your celebrity photos including a recent one with the undertaker of all people came into your texas story i believe you told me that story what was it like i mean like you're you're a wrestling collector you love all of these guys and then the undertaker shows up in your store with his wife and everything like how would what was that day like yeah i i have to tell this story because i think that this is this is gonna be really good for the podcast we'll say right because i think it's a it's a it's a great story and honestly one of the one of the coolest things i i've ever had a chance to experience but yeah so undertaker and bron breaker will get into bron i know you guys have a love hate relationship with him but we'll we'll talk about that right right we'll move on to that in a little bit but taker you know growing up and watching wrestling was one of my favorites i had a chance to meet him probably two years ago he did his dead man walking show at our venue here in boston and then i got to spend probably twenty twenty five minutes with him and bruce pritchard after the show and just sort of talk wrestling and meet him and he he was amazing like super cool so fast forward to us opening our store in austin and you know we invited him out and he came with michelle and their daughter and you know you know for me it was surreal right like somebody that's i had spent the twenty minutes with him but i spent basically two hours with him and michelle and you know one of the coolest parts of the whole thing was their daughter is a is a high is a i don't know if she's in high school but she's a quarterback she's a she's a female quarterback and michelle was like showing me footage of sort of her throwing and you know some highlight films and i was like tom needs to see this she's like what do you mean like oh tom needs to see her throw he's she's she was just like blown away so tom comes in you know we introduce them and and you know i think ryan you had a chance to meet him he's he's one of the most like engaging people he will he will ask you questions like it doesn't matter who you are it doesn't matter if you're a ceo if you're a twenty dollar an hour you know employee he will look you in the eye and ask you questions yeah yeah he just started rallying off questions to to take her into his daughter and you know all these different things and you know you could see like them as parents which is something you don't really see you get you got a chance to kinda see the behind the scenes of them just sort of beaming over their daughter and here they are with tom brady and tom brady's giving them pointers and giving her pointers for their daughter about you know form and practice and all these things and and toward the end of it and i i don't know if i'm gonna get the full a full torso push here but tom tom at the end of it he was talking about how when he was her age he used to brush his teeth and and when he was brushing his teeth he'd work on his form right so he'd brush his teeth and work on his form in in the mirror and it it was one of the coolest things because you could see taker and michelle just like and their daughter just their eyes like kinda light up and you know listen i'm i'm i'm blessed i you know to be able to do what i do and it was surreal i got a chance to just spend two plus hours with them he actually texted me the next day and said thank you you know their daughter was was just beaming over sort of the the you know their interaction with tom and it it just it's very cool so yes that was my sort of taker story that's awesome that's such a cool story man i love hearing that so in terms of your collection like yep you you said bron breakker i everybody knows you like we we always talk about you're you gotta be the guy who collects this certain person and you know obviously for the listeners here if you don't know that ryan and i collect randy orton and becky lynch you i'm wondering what podcast you've been listening to but tim is a humongous braun breaker collector you've had some wonderful experiences i'm sure with that and and talk a little bit about how you came to appreciate what braun has done and like what led you to wanna collect him yeah i got back into the wwe probably man it's gonna be twenty twenty seven that's insane that it's about to be yeah i think twenty one or twenty two i started to watch it again a little bit i watched wrestlemania i'm not sure if it was twenty one or twenty two the la wrestlemania i watched it and it was like like blown away again and just was hooked and then started to watch a little bit of raw a little bit of smackdown and again i watched as a kid and like intermittently kinda throughout my career but i hadn't like watched it religiously and then i started to like delve into the hobby you know part of this right where there it it was the first year of prism there were you know there was there was select you know i i had already been collecting in basketball and and football and baseball and sort of had a understanding of it and then i was just jumping on breaks i was in car shop live every single night like literally on whatnot before anybody was on fanatics before any but there was a couple other breakers it was rtb a couple of others but like you know i was just jumping in breaks and educating myself around the the hobby and the community and what i found was this community is different than any other community in all of the hobby right like to to your point i started to become friends with people that i would never think that you know you would become friends with like in a hobby like people would send me braun breaker cards people you know kingpin who's you know sort of one of my one of my bad best friends in this business who i i i i'd had a chance to now hang out with and meet a few times in person you know he and i would send like hey you're jumping in this break what are you doing you know and i started to get sorta into the hobby and i i i love i love breaks and i was on breaks all the time i would buy i would definitely buy singles and things to that effect but the story around braun was i'd seen him in nxt and and then i i sort of realized you know he was a steiner and i was a big fan of the steiners and i saw that first spear and and and like the energy around you know the dog and people barking and i'm like i was like this dude's gonna be a star like he's got the pedigree he's he he's a athletic freak he you know he had like the whole package so similar to other sports you know which is you guys know you know where we're at now in the hobby where like people are prospecting it was a prospecting thing for me right i was like alright and i get a little bit i get a little bit obsessive kinda like you guys do when there's there's something that i'm collecting and i was like i like braun i think he's a future world champion like he's got that dog in him right like and i i bought braun in every single break i possibly could you know all the twenty two prism all the you know select everything that was coming out you know through twenty two twenty three and twenty four you know and then i sorta got to be known as the braun guy so people would send me bronze i've been very lucky to hit you know five one zero ones including you know the logo gem out of flawless and a break which was like wow time like the biggest braun card i hit and you know i now famously have hit the the wrestlemania patch as well you know at a at at a royalty but you know i'm up to seventeen or eighteen one on ones and then i i started just like in sports i started to collect all the rookie year stuff right and i actually wanna ask you guys a little bit about this when we get to it because it seems like they're they're in wrestling in particular there's not as much excitement around rookie year stuff and it's kind of about where you know you think of roman you think of rhea right like you think of of of cards where i'm like how is ria's twenty twenty or twenty one stuff so undervalued right like that's good point mhmm rookie year it it and and listen it may be an opportunity i have some holding i'm holding it i'm holding older roman stuff you could go buy a roman auto out of like undisputed for like two hundred bucks two hundred fifty bucks so you know number to forty nine which is sort of insane to me on card right so it's like you know i started buying a i have so much of bronze rookie stuff like i pretty much have most of the rainbow of his prism outside of the black one zero one i have you know his gold gold prism auto you know i started to go nuts on a mac the impeccable one zero one i i just have a ton of a ton of stuff like when it comes to braun i'm i and then i figured out that i'm sorta over leveraged in braun and you know i had a i had a small taker i had a small taker pc and then i just i i started to weight my my my pc a little bit more on the taker the last year or so because i just you could spend two hundred thousand dollars on bron cards and i i it's like what am i if for some reason and by the way i mean listen we could talk wrestling i when when when the vision formed i'm like this is it and i actually i've heard you guys talk about tops now it's the only tops now card i ever bought i bought all the tops now vision i was on our breaks and talking about how they're gonna be the greatest faction of all time and then it fell apart the whole thing just completely cursed they got they they got cursed by tana houser before dan houser got to wwe that's what happened exactly exactly so you know listen i i enjoy it's fun for me right like the community is amazing you know what you guys did at the national just really showed like how far the hobbies come and how much we all support each other right which right again in in any other sport you don't really get that feeling and it's a it's an escape for me it's a it's a it's one of those things that like i enjoy doing i enjoy building sets and we could talk a little bit about that like you know i like i like the kaboom sets you know i've got the full downsides you you've really made some progress on that in the last one to just is it lesnar ten you're down to or is it yeah if we could put out like a a a at the end of this if you wanna put a graphic up like seeking brock lesnar psa ten that's the last one i need willing to do what it takes to get this card whatever whatever it takes you wanna facetime tom he'll let you facetime tom if you need to sure yeah whatever he's gonna make it happen sure you're gonna have like ten dms it's like a pop ten and all ten people are gonna be reading yeah i wanna talk to tom later deal with this i'll be facetime tom tom i need a favor i need this brock lesnar card you need to facetime this person i maybe i'll get brock on i don't know yeah i mean let's yeah you know we've got some connections sorta all over but the the funny story is at the national i actually grabbed two of the i needed three right i needed the alexa bliss which i found and had an incredible experience from day i think his name is dave from denver card shop and spent like an hour and i just bonded with him over a lot of different things he was again something you really never do like in these other sports and and and kingpin had the hbk and sold it to me which was great and i had heard there was rumors there's a couple guys santiago and a couple other guys basically told me they saw the brock floating around on wednesday or thursday it walked up to people's tables i and it and and it never came back i never saw if anybody bought it but yeah if anybody's out there has the brock psa ten kaboom last one you need that's it that's it do you know off the top of your head what the pop is on that for a ten i wanna say it's in the twenty listen one of the reasons i focused on kaboom and i and i i love what you guys do in terms of breaking down you know why things are valuable and things to chase and things to that effect you know the kaboom pops are between twenty one and forty four right and i think it's the rock or cena that are are in the early like forty one to forty four not many psa tens not no in tens right like this is in in tens total right so you know and it goes down to like the ones that didn't get graded like the b like bianca belair and even becky i think that's why that becky sold for so much a few weeks ago there's like you know twenty three or twenty four of them so i don't know the exact plot but it's it's in the twenties or early thirties there's not many of them out there and i don't think it's gonna continue i don't think it's gonna rise because a you can't find this stuff you can't find the product anywhere any of them that are raw i mean they i mean you could try to grab them but chances are they're probably not gradable at this point so i gotta think that pop report's gonna stay down for all of them so it's a good thing you started building us obviously a while ago tyson who works for me hit a triple h kaboom psa ten on blaise about a month ago and i told him don't sell it hold it hold it hold it hold it i talked to him every day i was like oh yeah we were talking about something i was like oh your triple h she's like i sold that i'm like what he's like i got twenty five euro on ebay i couldn't pass up i go dude i would have bought it from you when i tell you don't sell something listen to me when i tell you alright yeah it feels like one of those sets and we can talk about some others you know i'm into early transcendent you know i have you know downtowns i'm buying you know clearly flawless and some of those other things but it feels like one of those sets that you know the cena patch just sold right you're we're gonna we're going to see some level of influx of people into this hobby cool just sort of based on the hype and people wanting to get in and those people are gonna go alright you know what are the biggest inserts in other sports and there's one year of kabooms right and they didn't do number they didn't do colors there's one year of kabooms which by the way have some some of the only images of like andre the giant right or ultimate warrior like this they did an amazing job with the actual set because the the legends that are in there are not featured the photos yeah there and the photos are amazing like there there are some legends in there that are not featured in other sets that are a little tougher to get so i recognize i mean it's been almost a two year journey of working on the set and by the way some of those like ascena i bought raw this is a year and a half ago two years ago and it i got a ten on it i did buy i've bought two brock's and i cannot get ten's on my brock's i i i wow i i did try to grade them but yeah to to ryan's point the stuff that's out there like there's not a lot out there and the stuff that is out there probably not gonna grade ten's at this point so it's it's right it's one of my crown jewels for sure plus if you wanna go ripping for it it's like you have a twenty box case those boxes are now well correction system thank you it's like but there's a lot of boxes and those boxes are not cheap anymore given the the popularity of the kaboom set panini made the right call adding that to a set like revolution because it really brought a lot of chase to that product but you know i think i i've never been a kaboom guy ever and like seeing that in wrestling i think we we i said it on the podcast a couple of weeks ago like we got very lucky with the year of kabooms that we did because this the design is great the photos are amazing but also i think like when you look at like the last year of panini's run which is you know that that twenty four time frame that also had some twenty three sets in it like they really closed out with like banger after banger after banger and i know that you know we've talked about it ad nauseam here but i think from somebody like your perspective tim who who has a lot of experience in other sports and coming into wrestling and seeing how that sort of translates here it has to be like hey i've already got the the answer key here i'm just gonna i i can follow this immediately and it's gonna make my collection that much more impressive but also give me more enjoyment because i've more connect it seems like you have a little bit more connection to the wrestling guys that are in these sets now that you can collect for the first time absolutely absolutely and listen i i think you know panini like you said on the way out like with with three count and national treasures and flawless and you know all the things they did on the way out they created you know there's one year of flawless you know ryan and i have talked about this a million times it's like you know weirdly what i still can't understand are there there are some things that you you know the wrestling hobby is different than anywhere anywhere else right like we all know this there are certain things that go up in value for reasons that don't make any sense and there are certain things that should go up that don't right but you know clearly star swatches i i was in i don't know a hundred and a hundred plus of those breaks i was selling a lot you know ryan almost literally kicked me in the face when i told him i sold a a one zero one flawless it was before i even really really knew oh yeah orton orton right it's a guy in germany i didn't really know ryan well then at that point right so you know i was i was sort of like buying and then listen i was selling that stuff so i could get in more breaks or buy more bronze or buy more undertakers right like because those were sort of my pcs but you know i really do like i saw your interview with with with tim trout you know i was psyched by the way because stadium club is coming out and yep he talked about bean teams so i have the full collection of beam teams of ninety two that's awesome and basketball and psa nine so you know i'm i am jacked that there's actual beam teams because i haven't have you guys seen an image of them because i have not yeah so i i have seen them or at least a pre like i've seen kinda what they were hoping to achieve and they look very much like they did like they used to so you're gonna be very happy that was a so when i was younger nineteen ninety two ninety three stadium club with the beam team shaquille o'neal like i ripped so many packs of stadium club basketball trying to pull those cards my brother recently came to minneapolis he lives in oklahoma now with his family came back we found like all of his old cards i think i texted ryan like hey he's got a a bucket full of michael jordan cards one of them was that beam team and i was just like this is it wasn't gonna grade anywhere close to a nine or a ten but it's like this card just is pure nostalgia and to see that we're getting that in wrestling now after thomas has been making wrestling cards since the early two thousands like we've never had stadium club wrestling yeah and like this set has so many nostalgic ties to so many of our experiences as younger collectors and here we are we get to have you know like the lone star signatures we get to have the triumph where we get to have all of these really good sets but my one thing that i told the tops team when they were considering making the set is like you better bring beam team cards to this set and they they delivered so i'm really happy about that yeah to to your point it feels like you know panini went out with a bang and then i think topps the first year sort of rushed a lot of their products right yeah i i don't you know and i i think they'll fully you heard tim on there even talking about universe and listen universe is is way better than it was last year and you know for me i love collecting those like short print inserts right things that are cool things that have cool art things that like are gonna hold value yeah i mean i think they've done an amazing job with you know gpks right like i'm trying to work on the whole gpk set the liquid silvers out of royalty are like you know insane i actually bought the other day i i couldn't believe it was only five hundred dollars oolofala rock psa ten there's five of them there's five of them it was only five hundred bucks wow that's a good deal five hundred dollars i had that set as a psa i think i have a psa ten of the rock i think i kept it i have roman i have they were so hard to hit they were so hard to pull in finest impossible to hit and who's ripping finest right now so it's like nobody you know i'm kinda going back now and as you guys know a product rolls out and everything's like i saw the first out of universe what's sorry what's the ssp case it oh the slammed do you mean slammed i saw an undertaker and it was listed for like thirteen grand and i was like that's just insane to me right so you know products come out and then people wanna try to cash in you know and you'll have have people like ourselves that will buy the you know pay whatever for the orton or the braun or the becky right but like you know i'm kinda going back not not only to the last you know to older stuff but the last year or so of tops and going alright well this was a cool set that there's not gonna be a high pop count on like let me go back and try and work on that i rebought a lot of flawless like i i guess my point earlier was i was selling other stuff like cena's and all my other stuff to like get back into more breaks and try to hit braun or undertaker i'm starting to rebuy cena's i'm starting to buy you know the the the patches of like you know rock and roman and you know these things to like five that i i think that you know outside of the star swatches which we all know are amazing you know i'm also going back and buying early twenty nineteen transcendent you know i i think that's gonna be if that transcendent set ever pumped it's so gorgeous it's so crazy that you can go buy a you know a cena to twenty five on card auto and transcendent for less than what you can buy a twenty twenty six topps chrome like it it's just it doesn't make it doesn't equate to me right like and so i'm just trying to find like little little little lanes that i can get into and i'm also trying to slightly diversify my braun investment so that if you're letting all your secrets out of the bag man i mean listen that's what that's what this is about though right like yeah i'm just yeah i'm okay with it i i think you know if more people get in you know it's just gonna help our hobby and and help the market out and that's that's what i think is important absolutely no to go with your inserts i know you've been big on building these type of sets and i'm i know i moved you a lot of gpks at the national this year because you're working on that you brought up liquid silver i am in love with those cards ever since i acquired the rock in a lot i bought i have since acquired a ria and now roman that was pulled out of her shop so yeah i act yeah you have ria what was the one you said you have coming in didn't you say you have another one coming in adam you hit no i just have ria i want roman i gotta find a roman gotcha because god those cards are gorgeous i don't build sets anymore but that's one i'm working slowly at building but i feel like it's going to be a massive challenge there's not a lot of those out there i think they reported ten to twenty of them of each maybe there's no turnover ten ten to fifteen yeah if you've seen these cards in person which we all have absolutely beautiful i need to see a liquid gold in person i've never seen liquid gold same which by the way the liquid gold taker has not surfaced yet so i am i am cody just surfaced cody just surfaced yeah yeah i saw gunner got that that's awesome we know cena's been surfaced we know yep tiffy yep tiffy pretty much most of them most of them have come out but taker hasn't come out they to ryan's point and this came from baseball right like i knew the liquid silver from baseball and they're they're incredible and i knew that this is gonna be a tough set i'm i'm halfway done i have five you know as you know they're harder to find a little more expensive to acquire as well but yeah those types of things i think topps has done an incredible job with the new releases and i think they're gonna continue to hone that and i was do i was listening this morning on my way to work to to the the podcast with tim and i was i was jacked that there's gonna be beam teams so those kind of things are gonna be awesome for the for the hobby for sure absolutely yeah i think i think tops has a keen eye on on sort of like making sure that collectors who have experience in one of the sports or whatever can have that accessibility right like coming to wrestling a new sort of undiscovered area for an a lot of the people out there like let's be honest and i mean they're advertising it on monday night raw they've advertised it across every platform so you have people i'm sure coming into your stores ryan and your stores tim that are like hey i want wrestling and i mean the great thing is when i remember when the the mall of america store opened this photo's on the screen here that's from the mall of america i was shocked like you guys have a really good stock and for the mall of america i walked in i was like okay this is gonna be like six hundred a box like it was market price like you guys had it at market price in the mall of america which for anybody who's ever been there know it's a tourist trap and my kids only go there to run around at the amusement park and whatever but like they they have everything at really good prices and i was shocked and i was talking with the staff there they're very knowledgeable very helpful even on something like wrestling cards which you know going into a shop in the middle of minnesota you would expect that wrestling is a big deal because it's always been big in minnesota but if you're in like you know ohio or wherever you can walk into one of these card vault shops and i think they're gonna have a a lot of stock they're gonna have a lot of good stuff for you to take a look at they may not have all the singles that you might want but in terms of wax and everything like that's really cool and i think that's a a really awesome feature of your stores is like hey we're not we may look like the the the most you know illustrious brand that exists in the hobby but we're still gonna be selling these boxes at pretty close to market prices which i think is great yeah we it's it's definitely been something that's been important to to everyone to all of us as owners right like we we we didn't really want people going in and listen you know and ryan knows this he he's he's owned his own place for a very long time you know you have overhead costs and we're in some ex we're in some very expensive places yes and we have pretty expensive overhead with corporate and sort of everything else that we have and development of stores and things to that effect but it was really important for us you know not just with wrestling with everything that we stay as close to market and and listen there will be times we do have a system that does update you know daily you know that basically is is is checking things sort of daily and updating them in real time so from from boston here in our in our corporate office if a price changes it changes at every one of our stores right so that's the beauty of it but we we're constantly watching the market and we do wanna stay in line and yeah sometimes it'll be a little bit above market but you know we don't ever want anybody walking out of any of our stores saying man you know that box was four hundred dollars more than it is everywhere else it's just you know that that's it's it's not good customer service and you know we're you know we we are a a hybrid hobby retail shop right like we're you know we we're not we're not a you know we're not we're not rbi we're rb when i think of like the the true hobby shop right like it's rbi that that is an experience right like it's a mecca people come there there's singles on singles on singles and wax on wax on wax in that store i had a chance to tim tim's seen it yes yeah i had a chance to walk it by the way we should talk after this how much revolution you have and we might have to i might have to take a little trip we might have to do a little revolution yeah i actually well i gotta get with smitty he hit me up last week wanted to get some stuff so i gotta i already get you guys some stuff but i mean for you we'll we'll do a separate talk about that yeah yeah yeah no no for for sure but you know the the goal was for us to provide a place that was a national retail brand and chain but still had a a hobby feel right but we we know we're not like listen you you're not gonna come into our stores and search through thousands of singles you know it's it's it's very tough to scale that you know where our goal is you know we're gonna have twenty two by the end of this year hopefully another fifteen next year you know we're we're gonna get to fifty pretty quick here within a a three three year time frame but you know how we do that is wax we you know we're we're pricing sort of appropriately and then we're we're doing singles but it's you know we're we have a par basically of singles in each one of the stores and then you know things will get get get moved right if things if something isn't selling in minnesota it'll get sent to dallas if something's not getting sent to dallas it'll get sent to vegas right and you know we have this sort of ability to sort of move things around but yeah to your point adam you know we we try to hire knowledgeable people it's not like you're going into gamestop and talking to somebody that doesn't know anything about about sports right like you know that was sort of number one and number two is yeah we we do we want people walking out and having a great experience and it's funny because you know and and ryan knows this like you're gonna get sort of haters regardless of what you do right and it's like you know somebody might have walked in one day and a single might have been mispriced that day you know and the comp just happened twenty four hours ago that was three hundred dollars less and they're like oh they're overpriced and they're gouging people and all these things like it's just it's just the nature of the beast but you know we do the best that we can to stay in line with the market and you know we're we're not out to you know to gouge people in any way shape or form and we just wanna provide an experience mainly for you know for families for people to come in and yes you know if you're if you're in the hobby and a hobbyist we're gonna have the latest wax for you we're gonna have singles we're not gonna have thirty thousand dollar cards you know we're not gonna have twenty seventeen prism football on ourselves we're not gonna have like the the the absolute stockpile of wax that ryan has you know sorta at at his at his shop i have issues let's just be honest i mean it's it's it's insane you have a whole comic book run my friend not just some issues yeah it's it's insane i gotta tell you i i can't wait to go back i had i had a great time went out there when we opened the saint louis store and and ryan and i just sort of like you know ripped a ton of stuff with his kids and you know again it's what it's all about right like it's it's it's fun you know you're involving your kids you know i've been very lucky she's not into the hobby part of it yet but you know my daughter is nine and she's autistic and you know her and i have really bonded over wrestling over the last year or so and you know it it it's very cool she got to meet alexa bliss as her favorite wrestler and she got to meet alexa bliss and charlotte flair and you know there are times that like her her attention to anything is is is nil but all of a sudden wrestling will come on and like she's just she's focused on it which is is sort of insane but again it's what it's about right let's it's it's the it's the hobby it's the community and you know it's involving families and you know i i i'm i'm really proud to be part of not only the the wrestling hobby community but also the the card community love it yeah so we only have a few minutes left and i tim this has been wonderful i i i'm glad that people are gonna get a viewpoint into sort of what you bring to this because like we hung out a lot in chicago we hung out a lot at summerslam and like i met you at financially i mean like we've seen each other a lot this year but like you know i think for a lot of the people out there who see this card vault by tom brady name and they think of you as this monolithic presence of retail kinda like you're saying like there are people behind this that really are invested in our space not just the hobby in general and i wanted to give tim sort of some time here because i love talking to him he's a wealth of awesome stuff that you're seeing on social media is really a measure of of the full picture of what they bring to the hobby but also the fact that they're out there submitting their their brand to an event like wrestling card takeover was beyond awesome to see thank you again for that so tim just to close this out any like if you had to like sort of talk about your experience sort of over the last couple of years as part of this community not as a retailer but as sort of like this collector like how would you say it to somebody who maybe hasn't had that experience with with wrestling cards now that we're expecting to get all these new eyes in based on the senior sale and some other stuff that's going on like what's your take there yeah i think there's there's sort of two there's two two not schools of thought but two different paths like i i started because i love breaking i started in break rooms right and you get to know all the people in there everyone's chatting you know my family would go to bed and i i would be up till you know carshoplive is on the west coast so it would go to one or two in the morning right and you're just in there chatting and hitting cards and and then you're connecting with them sort of on instagram so you know there's the breaks route you know there's been clearly a lot of controversy you know sort of around that recently but there are a lot of amazing breakers and and quality breakers and and the biggest thing is the people that are in the community are in those breaks a lot of them right like some people are and some people aren't like adam i know you don't jump in a lot you'll go buy the becky spot like to support but it's not like how you got to know it he jumps in more new realized did yeah he did i might make he's what was it what's the product this year that you said you had like forty packages show up like one day in place yeah chroma did about a hundred and fifty cases yeah don't don't let him fool you there tim fair enough fair enough i'm not on whatnot i'm not on whatnot as much anymore but fanatics live i i definitely partake yeah for for sure and and by the way we're on we have a breaks channel carval carval breaks that you know last year i spent a lot more time actually breaking as well and getting in getting to know people in the community it's just been so crazy the last six plus months it's been hard for me to break we do a breaker mania i do that with troy from wax culture like yeah that was really cool every few months you know we'll have a wrestler on and actually behind me is money in the bank signed so all the female wrestlers is rhea tiff tiffy becky liv and steph vakar have all signed that that's awesome and we've had them all on so you know there there's the breaking aspect of of getting into the hobby and then there's you know going to shows and and and buying singles and you know you can find a lot of deals on ebay and finax collect and the these things and just educating yourself and and you know starting to buy singles which is a little bit more of a prudent thing right like you know breaks are are fun right the the roi can be tough i always realized when i was in breaks that it's enjoyment and i wasn't doing it for for roi per se but yeah i think it's you know if you come from a a baseball basketball or football you you'll realize there are certain things that apply and certain things that don't apply in any way shape or form and it's just sort of finding finding the the arbitrage you know i do think there's gonna be a big and it's happening now like you know clearly you've seen in the last three or four months in other sports with the goats right with the yeah with the bradys the jordans and now it's secondary with like and basketball iverson and duncan like guys that like man you could go buy iverson and duncan stuff like high high end stuff for almost nothing right and now it's it's blowing up i do think that's going to trickle into wrestling right like they're i think it already has started yeah it already has started yeah it already has started it has for sure right but not just the ghost but then secondary ghost so like you know i have a i have a pretty big legends collection of you know guys i grew up with like ric flair right like i have a lot of ric flair stuff i have road warriors stuff i have some some older andre the giant type stuff my i've couple of my really cool pieces and sorry i know i'm running over here i was able to obtain a couple of of the transcend transcendent cuts this year i got a i got a macho man like cut which you know how many macho man like certified autos are there in this hobby not many right not not many and then i was able to pick up ultimate warrior and roddy piper on the dual cut and i got that at at fanatics fest which is insane to me because once again how much warrior and piper like certified autos are there out there not many right and then i grabbed on ebay i grabbed piper and bruno san martino and a dual cut as well and those those large cards you're gonna get a lot of messages on ig yeah just saying like hey i got this i got this to me oh it happens now like people think i you know and that's that's always the the fallacy and ryan knows this it's like you know i i i have a finite amount of of money i can spend in this there is it doesn't it's not endless i do sell a lot to like you know to keep to be able to have like a bankroll to buy stuff that i want right like i'm consistently selling but yeah i'll get hit up i get hit up pretty much nonstop with hey i have this i have that and you know i i think with braun in particular the last six plus months i've been way more you know like the oh man the braun flawless the patch just just hit ebay right like it's the laundry tag and i have all the other flawless the guy wants two thousand dollars for it and i'm like man how do i justify you know two thousand dollars for you know a not even a lot of public comp yeah yeah you know so i've been a lot more whereas a year ago i was just i was buying i was just buying right and you know i think the prices have come up a lot too you know i was buying my other flawless braun autos i think i paid like you know fifteen or sixteen hundred bucks for one of them i might have paid twenty one eighteen to twenty one like like on a one zero one flawless auto like that's really affordable based on like and you guys both know this i love seeing when you guys run down the the cards like the top five cards or cards that have sold for the week because man a year ago two years ago there were not sales anywhere remotely to the way you had those guys exactly and i'll leave you i'll leave you with this last story because it was probably three years ago i was i was in a break and i hit the immaculate one of one ria charlotte out of immaculate twenty oh that card is awesome the the andre tag one yeah yeah no it's the one of one dual auto no relics oh no no relics no relics yep no relics right and i ended up selling it to a big ria collector and i think i got like three grand for it somewhere in the three grand thirty five hundred and i remember him saying he's like dude go look no cards have sold like over three thousand doll like he literally was like hey there's nothing in the hobby that would justify it's probably a ten thousand dollar card right now if i were to guess like i mean that thing in in a one zero one charlotte ria immaculate one zero one platinum like so cool on card feels like a ten thousand dollar plus card but it's it's been awesome to see the progression of you know that was two years ago two and a half years ago there were no comps over three thousand dollars you could you know outside of that rock card and you know there were maybe what ten cards over three grand like in the history of of wrestling cards it was like the original hulk hogan from eighty two all stars like that type of stuff but to watch this every week and now i see the bar keeps jumping it's like it used to be starting at three grand and then there was a top five cards now it's like five or six grand and it it keeps going up like it's it's kind of insane slow week is thirty five hundred yeah crazy right it's nuts it's absolutely insane but yeah thank you guys for having me on i love both you guys i think you're both incredible outside of the hobby part of it i think you're both incredible people and i love what you guys are doing for the community and you know being able to like have guests on and be able to talk about wrestling hobby news it's awesome so kudos to you guys thank you and i and we finally made this happen it's been a long time coming but we finally got you on here and we we had some hiccups along the way but it's it's nice finally to have you on here man we can't wait to have you back on again tim yes you're you're one of the great guys keep doing what you're doing keep doing what carball's doing for the record i've been to three other stores st louis chicago and and vegas all are amazing the staff at every one of them very knowledgeable like he says always great pricing they just treat you correctly when you walk in i wanna say great job to what you and your team have done especially oh yeah you got that guy named tom next to you as well but keep doing things a little bit kinda kinda helps a little bit yeah i i got the three i'm in a big city i'm in there's one i'm gonna check it out just because the the atmosphere is always great and again love what you guys are doing appreciate
