it's episode nineteen yes it is adam where'd you go how we i look i look a little bit different you do look a little bit different here adam is not here this week i am your main host today but cohosting with me is my great friend kevin kulikowski how are you doing man i am doing awesome it is absolutely an honor to to be on the show partially offended it took till episode nineteen but at the same time we're here now and we are ready to rock look man that's a famous line tyson uses around here look man i don't make these decisions i've actually put your name out there a long time ago it worked out better you know what we saved you there's only been two people to cohost ever one is you and one is jameson so it's an honor to have you on the show a and also cohosting with me so let's get started let's talk a little bit about yourself talk about who you are what you collect where you what you do for a living i mean let's let's let the listeners know a little bit more about you kevin yeah absolutely so my name is kevin i run the new york roadshow new york roadshow is part of the roadshow cards family of card shops it is now we have four shops across america it started in lexington lexington kentucky jimmy mahan kentucky basketball cards is the the visionary the the seth rollins if you will of of the operation here and he you know wanted to pick some good people across across the country to to run shops and sort of people who were like minded in the hobby and you know the way that they we do business and everything and so i'm the guy in new york and we're going on year five of the shop and that's all good fun and dandy and and ryan you know better than anybody about shop life but more importantly and more fun i am an avid wrestling enthusiast i am a wrestling card collector i was doing it before it was cool as was ryan also adam we gotta we gotta get and and adam i'm sorry he's not in front of me i know yes i know i mean and and to touch on your point i am not as it's hard because the people who i want to super collect are popular right and and i haven't staked a claim really to any of them i'm i'm heavily attempting jacob fatu although i found out today that there are others who are in the same mindset but i i really mainly focus on you know bloodline guys samoans and and just sorta i'm i'm everywhere i collect who i like in that moment like i have a wild carmelo hayes pc i don't know why but like i have four of his logo men like it's it's just weird i have a bunch of good rookie bron breakker stuff so i'm really just somebody who loves cards and you know didn't tie it specifically to any given wrestler although i will say my bloodline guys are are front and center you have an incredible collection i've known this for a long time let's talk about your garbage pail collection with the sketches years ago yeah transcended my kids when we did a couple case breaks back in twenty two thousand twenty one i guess it was at the time we hit a couple one was charlotte flair who was the other one remind me who was the other one you hit i i hate to say it but my buddy and i are are co owners of that collection and at the time there were fifth there were fifty sketches made and we now own about thirty eight of them all all one of ones and and for the i mean now you just you don't see them right like they've dried up and most of them are in our collection and then there's the ones where you know one's located in australia and it's not going anywhere and one is being held hostage on ebay and it's it's just too high right now and the guy won't play ball but we saw the uniqueness of the the gpk sketches jumped in on them just started buying them up i mean i remember on day one when transcendent first came out that year like i bought the roman reigns on the blowout card forms shout out blowout card forms woah from from back in the day school days back there but i bought that on release day for like nine hundred bucks and like it it you know it's it's sort of they're priceless and it's it's interesting because coming from the the sports card world you know originally everybody loves to throw around the terms liquid liquid liquid liquid right and something like one of one garbage pail kid original sketches are not necessarily the most liquid thing in the world but at the end of the day they are the coolest because it's it's art right and it and and it's in a larger scale and you know through adam i was able to grab a a bunch of pieces from the the current crop of of gpk sketches and so the the collection sort of expands and grows from there yeah it's it's awesome to see and i know you acquired several of those i was looking up to get the orton so shout out to adam looking out for us one thing i also gotta bring up that's on my tag list here because i think adam might crucify me if i don't you're an original member of the main events planning committee so yes that's awesome no it's great man again to have you on kevin and i go way back we'll actually be having dinner together in a couple days from this recording in dallas we'll be down in dallas together so him and i are are great friends we talk a lot just about cards life wrestling you name it we we probably text what four or five six times a week sometimes a little bit more so easily again this should be a lot of fun i'm glad to have him on so without further ado let's get started with this week's episode the opening pyro again this is me running the show today not adam so i have to click these buttons i have to figure out that how i do this and don't screw this up i had to have tyson like baby step me with this actually adam gave me like a to do checklist because i think he's really freaking out so first off let's start talking about at backlash backlash that happened this past saturday in tampa bay let's talk about yeah let's let's just get to the main event because that match was incredible you are a massive jacob fattu fan obviously roman as well give us your thoughts on this match because i think this is setting up for something great this this fatu character we're getting now is unhinged she's out to do whatever i love we're seeing the fatu we should have been seeing years ago it just took a while to get him on the show so let's start with the main event give us your thoughts on that oh man so i i gotta say and and i'm i'm sure you'd share the same sentiment as when when we had roman in his in his og bloodline form right mhmm and they were going through you know pay per views ples whatever whatever we were gonna call them at the time right like i think the question was always we know roman's gonna win but how do they make it look along the way right mhmm and they they did a great job of that you know you have la knight who has no business winning but the the program the match everything comes together great right and so sort of as somebody who who likes both of them a lot and as somebody who you know super collects jacob and and sort of you know my wallet was watching this fight worry worried about the direction of it like i i just from from a fan standpoint like i just wanted them to tell a story that had both guys coming out where nobody looked bad and i think they accomplished that and then some like tenfold what do you think no i think that the way it ended i i didn't see them taking the belt off for roman i think that it's just it just doesn't make any sense he needs to carry it but i think the whole projection is this is gonna be a hard fought run with this title they're gonna have him fight some of the best of the best starting off with fatu this is not over we're there are gonna be multiple matches everything was done right fatu was a beast roman just god he holds himself so well in the ring just selling every moment you know fatu gets knocked down he's right back up you know just this has a rivalry built up to where i think eventually we're gonna see fatu with a championship belt i don't know i don't think it'll be this run i think this is gonna be romans for a bit but it was just great to see that match that was again as adam has on here it that was a classic match that was to finally see those two really go at it i'm loving it man i'm loving the direction they're going even even on raw this past week the ending of that i mean fattu is just dominating right now and but we're still keeping the belt on roman we're not making roman look weak we're just making fattu look super strong and roman had to quote unquote cheat and kinda enter his inner heel removing the turnbuckle there and and knocking fatu there but overall it was a blast to watch that match it was it was my favorite match of the night obviously rounds of breaker was another one i like but overall i love the direction i think this is where they need to be pivoting this is a good rivalry for a while till we get to summerslam and that's to be discussed later is that the time we see oba roman or do we let that build up a little bit more what are your thoughts do you think fatu gets the belt on this run or do you think they're just gonna have it at some point no i mean i i think i think to your point and and especially and and i'll throw the shade where shade is is due but then also like in i think in the tko era of the wwe that we're currently in i think belts being held by ticket sellers and merchandise movers is a very important thing and and not to say that i think that roman's reign would have been roman's reign l o l not to say that i i would have thought that it would have been shorter otherwise just because he does carry himself so well as the champ but i i think that it just it's it's best for business where if you have him in a full time schedule yep and you can get him out there every week it's it's the smartest thing to do and i think more so as i look at this rivalry and next steps essentially i agree there's unfinished business it's gonna continue to push but the one thing that i'd like to see happen where i think the wwe creative falls flat sometimes is what happens for jacob after this because he's gonna come out with red hot momentum right he he didn't win the big one but he looks dominant along the way where do you put him from here because you're sort of booked between a rock and a hard place where you can't send him down to the mid card you know so so who do you have him feud with on the main card where it's still a meaningful feud you know i think him and drew at mania was was one of the better matches at mania albeit not a technical master class you know and and he's just he's showing that he can perform on the main stage but to your point it's it's not time for him to have the belt yet yeah i agree and so from a card standpoint obviously this exposure is people seeing what fat two really is and we've noted for a long time you definitely have what do you think impact this has on his cards going forward right now with being in the line by being in the main event being rivaling with one of the best in the world right i i think you know and and you mentioned him a couple of minutes ago with with oba i think we're seeing two guys right now who if you told me that they were gonna main event multiple wrestlemanias i would nod my head in agreeance on on both of them right and i think you know oba just being the presence that he is and jacob you know having such charisma as well as the wrestling skill to back it up you you could feel comfortable with them in the main event scene and so i think you're gonna have a lot of folks now as we see the explosion in the wwe market as we see the explosion in the higher end wwe market right like you're going to see a lot of people look at them as and i hate to use this term but you're gonna look at a lot of those guys as like there's investment potential here right and and all of a sudden you're like i'm buying him because he's the next guy and and we see a a drive up in his price and the other little tiny x factor that i'll say that jacob now has going for him that's drawing in a new crowd sort of divisive i'll i'll admit that but his inscriptions on his one of ones have have been you know i've had people text me and be like oh my god i need that card i said oh well i already tried the guy's not selling you know like neither here nor there but like yeah but it's but you have people who normally you know would not be attracted to that who either have a a strong faith or whatever it is and they're just like i love that card i love that message i think it's cool i want that right and so you're you're sort of seeing the perfect storm here of he's showcasing his personality he's getting creative with the card stuff and he just seems like he's an all around good dude and that sort of all that added together i think is gonna gonna have a lot of people not necessarily on the higher end but just in general wanting to pull jacob fattu cards wanting to buy jacob cards yeah he'll be collectible and he's never in europe i mean he's never been since he's had cards they've never been like good like a really good price where like oh i can buy this and invest and go up he's been up here and really has settled right here he never was kind of the low point where oba you could have bought if you were watching nxt you you saw the writing on the wall did i think he was gonna get this fast track no but oba there was potential to buy and now i'm digging through my twenty four back stock and finding numbered select rookies at two forty nine that are forty bucks that were probably five bucks at the time right so again fat two has always i think everybody knew the potential was there at fat two and now we're seeing it so again love what they're doing with them excited to see how the summer rolls out i think it's gonna be a summer clash of fat two enrollment for for the entire summer which is great but so cup pivoting to couple of the matches to talk about here real quick we saw a great match between io sky and asuka well done i we knew that was gonna be a great match they've they've been together for a long time is this is this asuka goodbye is she going to smackdown is she retiring there's a lot of speculation right now is people think she's retiring i i don't know the way they kinda left it open on raw this week is like i don't know what are your thoughts on this so it's interesting i i read something earlier and and it was somewhere on facebook i don't remember exactly where but like they said it normally when when characters are done whether it be end of contract whether it be retiring whatever it is like unless they're like that superstar status they sort of just lose to somebody and then we never see them again right like and it and it seems like they're giving asuka sort of her flowers on the way out to a degree similar to what we saw with with brock lesnar you know like it's the the camera time is there they're they're very focused on it seeming like she's done and she doesn't necessarily strike me even in her heel work as somebody who would pull a mark henry with the salmon colored jacket and all of a sudden right we get her back and and it's a it's a big play a big angle i mean she's been around for a long time right wwe was not her first stop and so if she retired or if this is it would i be shocked no and and i i think that that wwe is sort of alluding to the fact that you know she's done but maybe not giving it that finite you know take your boots off leave them in the ring because if they need her for something down the line you know that's always open because she's that good of a performer yeah no it it was a great match i enjoyed it she's had a great career like you said well before wwe she she's been doing this a long time so it was kind of the passing of the reins to io sky io is arguably one of the best female wrestlers in the world there with rhea ripley i would have to say so always enjoy watching her in just well done match we knew it would be another really good match we had bron breaker versus rollins there was some little we could see a little rust in rollins you could i mean he's been out he's been coming back from another injury but i i mean i kinda think you know i knew braun was gonna win this match but overall we got a really good match we're setting up hopefully at some point we're gonna move off this braun rollins i think the direction was decided a long time ago to a different way however it's been a curse to be a part of the vision i think we all see that so i i actually came into it a little bit late i didn't get to watch the first ten you know half of it because i had to work till five had pizza go pick that up so we can get people over to watch it but did you end up getting to watch the whole match what are your thoughts on it i i did and you know there's there's always in my mind and maybe i'm different than everybody else but like i always feel like in every ple or every every event like there's one match where you feel like this legitimately can go either way right and and while i i think that breaker was the right choice i think that breaker winning was the right choice like part of me really thought maybe seth gets over on him somehow in this match which ended up not happening but i i think overall it was great their chemistry was was good i i just frankly i don't love the story behind like like it's it's not one of my favorite storylines going right now but i think both guys come out of it looking better the follow-up on raw was was you know good we're we're seeing that you know unhinged seth where he's he's sort of maybe getting laser focused on you know his end goal and we saw with with ford and dawkins right like the sort of collateral damage of that and so i mean also if we wanna play super conspiracy theory seth's entrance gear with the face mask maybe a nod back to the shield like you know there there's sort of you know i don't know where we're going with it and i don't mind if if the program sorta continues but i think both parties need a a clean break out of this yes and and to to move on to something else yeah because i think this was supposed to be a different angle it's supposed to go but i think that all derailed so it's time to move in a different direction i think we'll suddenly see that shift and bron breakker is an up and coming star we've known that for a long time going back to the nxt days i mean they're gonna put him in the right position but biggest things is gotta stay healthy gotta stay healthy for them to put the faith in you we've had one injury let's hope there's not another one so we'll see where this goes from here not gonna really touch much on the other match obviously the the comedy match of the night we we know is that dan hausen and his mystery partner minnie hausen i feel like every fifteen years we get like a miniature version so we had doyt the clown then we had a hornswoggle you know doyt clown had we had hornswoggle now we got minnie hausen it was fun to watch my kids loved it i'm sure you know from that standpoint if you like a little comedy wrestling you enjoyed it but what are your what are your thoughts on this i mean i think everyone thought it was gonna be somebody a little bit more built up known it was kind of a shock but it was fun to watch i mean i i think when when you're playing into the comedy gimmick and and dan hausen does that so incredibly well mhmm i i almost think that it worked out better that it wasn't you know pepsi phil or it wasn't you know yeah an an elton prince or it wasn't a joe hendrie right because it was like that would have been like oh okay this is like a legitimate match but like the minnie hausen thing was i thought it was really funny i i thought you know that match accomplished exactly what it needed to dan hausen you know again somebody who'd been doing it on the indies for a very long time i think i have always liked him but did not see this level of just a rocket ship launched on his back i thought that it was hysterical i thought he was funny and how he sort of is transcending wwe and and sort of appearing other places now and everything i think i think he's great for business right now so i i thought it did everything it needed to yep i agree so i mean i think we've about touched a backlash so moving into smackdown and raw before that we've gotta give a little respect to ted turner passed away last week he was a huge part of wrestling in the nineties really lit a fire under vince mcmahon's butt and the wwf at the time but at at one point we you know if if you've watched the monday night awards which we did watch the documentaries i mean at one point tnt just blew up with wcw and wwe was sorry wwe at the time was really falling flat on it so ted turner did some great things brought everybody over gave competition where competition was needed i know we get a little bit of that between wwe and aw now but there was nothing like the monday night wars we got back in the nineties it was great so wanna tip my cap off to ted turner that's one thing i wanna start on but moving on here one of the things he's got to talk about here is the gingerbread man the the funeral of the gingerbread man he is no longer with us rest in peace he lasted about two or three weeks that might rival the stone cold rock my way video from of may seventeen that is that is great i know it's very funny in comedy we're talking about one comedy to another but smackdown's comedy versus raw but i i don't know do you have much to say about that while we're here talking about it so so it's it's funny because i i am somebody who doesn't normally like the celebrity cameos in wwe unless the people put the work in right and i feel like you know we we had bad bunny and then i'm i'm just clamoring for bad bunny to come back right that match he had in puerto rico in poland one of the loudest one of the loudest pops right and so i will say you know because sort of yachty got tossed in with jelly roll with you know all this stuff right and like no offense to those guys but like yadi to his credit sorta was like bro i've been at every pay per view i i am a fan right like i love this and you can sort of see that with him and so the the gingerbread man character i sort of appreciated more one because i like yadi just in a music standpoint but also i i feel like you know that's him sort of cutting his teeth in the business where maybe now you know he's he's working towards a match or and yep you know it's sorta paying your dues on the road right like they gave him a hysterical gimmick and he was willing to you know run with it and have fun with it mhmm and you know i i thought that it was i thought that it was funny and and entertaining and food for thought we're just talking about cards well yachty does have autographs in leaf i know for sure he was in pop century so if you're looking to invest or or or i guess speculate prospect is what you would say i don't know has he done anything with tops i can't think off the top of my head i do know he has leaf autographs he hasn't i have two of his his pop century putting plates so there you go but but and right and well and i'm sure they've gone up right now with his if you're a wrestling person i'm sure he's right he's in the spotlight right now with trick williams and i love trick i think trick's gimmick's great i think that was the pivot they needed to go i thought we were gonna get a sami zayn complete heel turn this past weekend i don't know what they're doing to sammy as he's still battling like good devil bad devil we don't know where they're going with him right now yeah i mean sammy sammy is a wonderful performer i i will say that but like from a character work standpoint i nothing that he does connects with me really ever and and so we'll see what direction he heads in but but sort of you know alright i'm sure we'll get more of the same woe as me underdog story you know to a buildup and and a loss but we'll see probably probably lost in his own town again like he did in roman so right one last thing to touch about obviously we know we're getting gunther versus cody a clash in italy the question becomes is now you know a lot of speculation was that randy was gonna walk out of maini with the belt there's a lot of speculation that he is hurt that's why they pivoted we don't know the future if randy's coming back what the punt leaded to led to now we get we're we thought we were getting gunther lesnar summerslam as the favor obviously lesnar retired in his own terms which i absolutely love i i hope that's how it stays true that is the best way to go out for any wrestler to say f you i'm done you i'm telling you when i'm done and you're gonna respect it so we get gunther versus cody i really don't know what to think here i obviously want cody to win so we can i can get the i'm gonna be a little biased here the randy versus cody rematch at summerslam where randy takes it however got a lot of steam he hasn't lost in forever he is the modern day legend killer now what do you think let's because they're gonna go with this angle here the i i i don't know and i think flip right and i think anytime i try to count cody out you know he definitively wins right like and and yes i i am somebody i i like cody i am just anxiously awaiting the heel turn and when you're looking at like a path to the heel turn i don't think gunther is the guy who's gonna be the catalyst for that and and so i really i don't know what i think they're in a lose lose with this match and and that might be an unpopular opinion but i i think you know if if cody wins and that's you know with with gunther they sort of they have him win a big match and then momentum stalls and they then give him his next big match and then momentum stalls right like and so if you then come off this match and he doesn't beat cody like does momentum die yeah where do you go from here with it that's the problem but on the flip side then if you have him beat cody sort of what's what's the next path of like to your point right like if randy is is gonna come back and was gonna be a summerslam you know headliner i don't wanna see gunther versus randy because then you'd have to have randy working fully as a face and and we were trying to sort of that kills all the work towards that and so i don't see a clear in my opinion least i don't see a clear path out of how the the result of this fight is booked personally yeah and i think for for cody to go full heel which i think a lot of us are aching for we did for cena forever we didn't see until well pass it was overdue but it was awesome what he did is he's got the fall in really really hard times and he's gonna have to struggle in my opinion or he's holding the belt and he's coming close to matches and then we see a turn so i think i don't think we're ready for it i don't think it's time right now i think there's gotta be a different storyline so i just don't know i mean we really don't know what trajectory that they're gonna go with this i i could see why gunther wins i could see why cody wins but the biggest what ifs are where do we go from here i think you could pivot cody to an angle that will work because you can't have cody and orton hash it out without a belt which i don't want but again that's me being biased guther i think has more to lose this than gain guther's cards are getting a lot of track right now we're seeing some really record sales for his one on ones popping up i talked to chad weldon all the time sports card junction he's been a big gunther fan for a long time so i i don't think it i think gunther's got more to gain on his cards here from this match than cody i think cody's already done everything so we'll see how that plays out and where we go from here but questionably should be good i i gotta figure out what time i have to wake up or watch it whatever time of the day so it's hard to have these it's hard to have wrestling ple parties when it's during a saturday actually this is gonna be on the sunday from my understanding somebody told me so i will be off so but my staff will probably be working so they won't get to watch so alright let's move on i think we touched a lot about that is there anything else you wanna talk about for between backlash or smackdowner raw i think everything is covered okay alright we're gonna move along here we're gonna talk about some card market high spots this is what we usually do every week and kevin i'm sure you're familiar with what we do here i think so move along here the biggest discussion going across social media again this is tuesday the recording and what is going now viral is this sale of this randy orton the twenty twenty five tops royalty wrestlemania forty one patch autograph did sold last night on monday when you're listening to this it's either friday or saturday or whenever you're listening did forty two thousand one hundred dollars now this card was all over ebay it was up for ten days with hoodies sports cards or hoodies collectibles i think it is was pulled in their shop which i love customer consigned it he inscribed it the viper and wn number twenty for his twentieth wrestlemania you know my thoughts i'm gonna start with your thoughts here on this before we move on to the next slide and talk a little bit about it someone let you kick off because obviously i am a huge randy orton collector so this is awesome to see in my opinion yeah i mean first off whoever won this shame on you for outbidding karl anthony towns first first off second off who knew that karl anthony towns was a big wwe guy so that's cool to see i mean i i think this is this is amazing right this is great news for wrestling cards this is you know great news for for topps wrestling specifically right like we've seen the previous record high sale on a on a card that didn't have ink right but like but now this is this is topps saying look at us we can do high end wrestling here is the proof of that and and i think it's i think it's really really cool that this got the attention that it got i i watched the last you know three or four minutes i said that remind me with four minutes left ebay notice and just sorta watched it play out and seeing that jump from whatever it was twenty eight k to forty two k at the end was was really cool so yeah i mean i i think this is what i'd be interested to see going forward based on this sale is are collectors going to treat the wrestlemania patches as grails in their own category or does a rising tide raise all boats where we see you know one zero one supers get a bump and we see other stuff get a bump too because then you know does it become well that randy orton sold for forty two thousand so now my super must be worth fifteen thousand right like we we don't know where exactly we don't that's gonna go and that'll be interesting because you know as as you know and and the listeners i'm sure know as well as like wrestling fans there are not or historically there have not been this insane number willing to spend this much on a wrestling card right and that's that's been the reality of it but now the tides seem to be shifting a little bit and it's it's cool to have you know these these big cards and truly i watched this card last night and i said hey i wouldn't be surprised if it ended for twenty five i wouldn't be surprised if it ended for seventy right like and and there was just such a wide range of where it could have been and and i think that i was i was just thoroughly impressed with with the sale and congrats to the winner hopefully we get to find out who it is you know and and get a big reveal because karl anthony towns wants to know and i'm sure the the general public wants to know as well well go let's go and give that reveal right now let's talk about that reveal so i had people reach out to say did you win the card my response to people has been i didn't bid on the card because well i didn't bid on the card mike cance of mc sports cards bid on the card on behalf of me so i am honored and it it i would say i don't know this is just a big moment for me i'm revealing it here i'm booked to last this will air on friday and saturday this will be the first time i publicly announce yes i am the owner of this card i won this card last night on behalf of mc sports cards who bid on it for me who i do a lot of consigning with orton signed this card in my shop when he was here for hobby rip night there was only one card he signed for tops they came here to get some stuff done after orton signed for over two hours for everybody here he was in this particular room that i'm in right now sitting back there with that in the background and a video just posted today by topps showing him signing it in my shop so for me to witness that to talk to him about it to be in the room i had to have this card there was at this point this meant more to me than any other orton card in my collection because i got to witness in my opinion wrestling card history this was the first of its kind so i didn't know what he was gonna sign the tops people said ryan you're the biggest horton fan what would you suggest he sign i looked at him i said i'm not telling him what to sign that is not my place whatever he wants to sign is completely fine i turned to his wife kim and told her as he was signing it that that card was going to break me these are the words i said and then that will set the highest randy morton card ever to sell it did last night so i am happy to announce that i did end up winning it mc sportscart is thank you and it's coming it'll be home soon it's gotta go on the sisterhood of the traveling pets it already has so think about this this trajectory of this card right now it comes here to saint louis to get signed it gets signed i get to hold it the picture i have here is actually me holding the card after he signed it the guy from tops is like hey you can take a picture just don't post it till the product releases i've kept this very hush i've only told a few people that this moment happened so so this card gets done goes back with tops goes into a product then the product gets shipped goes to oregon where it's pulled by hoodies then it has to go through e pay authentication it has to go to another part of the country and then i'm going to fly out there to pick this card up at some point and maybe next week and maybe a couple weeks i don't know but this is a big moment for me a massive grail for my collection this is the number one cornerstone centerpiece around my collection now so while the exposure is great sorry carl anthony towns i did not snipe bid you by the way for the record my bid was put in much higher a lot earlier it was made sure that i actually could go to dinner to celebrate mother's day and my mother in law's birthday with my family and i literally was the most stress free i've ever been this was counting down as i was getting into my car to drive home with my daughter so it was a big moment i immediately called mike and i'm on the phone with mike adam's calling me right off the bat so shout out adam so it's it's a big it's a big big part in this wrestling card community wrestling cards really got put on the map again last night it was put on the map years ago with the rock black but i don't think it got the level of exposure and viralness that it deserved i think wrestling cards are really on the map but to go back to what kevin said is is this drive up everything else we don't know this is the first of its kind the biggest discussion is right now is what does rio bring what does cena bring you know so again very happy the final bid we got was forty two k roughly toll number of bid sixty three and you know this was it lived up to the hype i personally thought this was gonna go more i was very thrilled it's crazy to say this i was thrilled at the price it went for which a lot of people probably think i'm astronomically crazy and i am i told my wife that i want it and then told her what my max bid was and i think she wanted to divorce me on the spot but i wanted that i made sure i was not gonna lose this so there you go there there's your winner just to to touch on that and you told me maybe twenty four hours ago now and and to not tell anybody was was tricky because we have so many shared wrestling friends who i wanted to share with right but i was like nope we we need to just let this play out but but i think you know major props first off a win for the good guys like awesome on that front it didn't belong anywhere else besides with you really thank you and then i i mean i think i think the other really cool thing that will eventually get play here you know when you have the card in hand is like it is i would say more so in wrestling cards than than anything else in the hobby like when a collector gets the grail piece right like it's sort of you know and and we'll we'll use a different wrestler but like cody rhodes finishing his story right like this this this card to a degree because of its history and its trajectory was was your story right and like so so for you to to be able to sign off on that having won the card and having won the card at a fraction of what your your high bid was frankly i i think is is is a major win and and something that's really cool and the poker chips are already starting to fall in place not even twenty four hours later the centimeters punk bounty was raised by another you know by ten k yes it was yes it was and and i think we're we're gonna see we're gonna see a lot of moving pieces and you know the the question becomes how many of these now are private sales with the orton as a benchmark versus how many of these now are anybody who pulls one is gonna be like well oh my god this needs to hit auction because who knows what could happen right like exact and that's the one thing i want to make people aware of again this was really one guy determined to win but also an nba player wanting this card which came out of left field which was awesome to see that carl anthony towns was going for this i think this is a matter of orton is one of the all time greats in my opinion i think most people agree to that he has been a centerpiece of my collection for a very long time and i think you gotta put a consideration who he is at the level wrestler he is the inscription that's on here what this means and really consider who the other elements or who the other wrestlers are because you may not have two or three people really adamant to get a card like this so some of these may fall may not go for the level of expectation now the biggest thing is what we know is that cody rhodes has surfaced and is in jameson's collection with at this time noticed intent to sell but i gotta think that's right up there with wharton we have ria which has yet to surface and a lot of people were saying that's gonna go over this and i wouldn't disagree and the big one being john cena which a lot of people are speculating six figure card i would have to agree in my opinion that that is the all and be all because of what that represents that is his last ever wrestlemania he won number seventeen yes it was not on his gear but he did have it on the towel it was a part of his attire so i mean i think this is gonna set the tone for those but i wonder where everybody else falls is the question if you were able to secure some of these that did surface early enough at a good price be happy because this really put on the map this was a win for not just me this is a win for the wrestling cards the wrestling card community this is a win to really plant the flag and show hey wrestling cards are legit they're real there's true collectors matt cardona text tweeted out today about it and said you know collectibles just isn't for kids i've been telling you all this for years which i love that so this really was a win for everybody to really show what wrestling cards could be because if you put this in perspective of sports and basketball football baseball i mean for what is sold in basketball terms is is like like oh cool that's a nice sale but here's a a five million dollar card million dollar card you know the highest selling modern day wrestling card is a hundred and twenty six thousand dollars and that's the rock black that is where does that rank a basketball way down here so i think this was a really good opportunity to show what this what wrestling cards could be again i'm a little crazier than most but adam's right there with me and kevin you're right there as well so i'm excited to see more of these surface what they sell for i'm thoroughly excited for this as a whole and i think that this is gonna change a lot of things now and open up a lot of eyes and i think it already has today right but but i mean also to your to your point and to the same extent like ladies and gentlemen like if you have the eric or ivar wrestlemania patch right it is not a forty thousand dollar card right and and and so so i i i fear that what we're going to see here to a degree and for folks who like to buy expensive pieces of cardboard with wrestlers on it you and i fall into that category right like i think it's going to become harder to buy stuff that doesn't necessarily warrant the price tag and so i think high end collectors are going to have to have that in the back of their mind but also just the general right like i think the shocking one when it's all said and done is gonna be you know jade cargill and and what she sold for mhmm and is that person you know kicking themselves but this sale again we we we could talk about this for hours on its own it'll be really cool and and when most people are listening you know the dallas card show will be happening it'll be cool to see if there's sort of you know are there more wrestling cards on the show floor with this product being a high end product that people were buying into breaks and people were ripping in you know the guys in backyard and everybody like everybody was ripping this product right like so do we see the singles on the show floor do we see clamoring about you know this sale or is it sort of just like you know business as usual it was a wrestling card that had a high sale you know as far as the larger scheme of sports cards go yeah i'm curious to see how dallas plays out this weekend i'm sure i'm gonna get a lot of questions first off i wanna say thank you to everybody who reached out to me via text instagram social media calls asking me if i won this card you know i've told certain people that i'm close to yes other people my response again was did not bid on this card because i didn't it was somebody else but you know thank you for so many people that looked out and said congratulations and and again this was big but one thing to talk about and real quick before i move on here and adam alluded to this had seven hundred and eighty three watchers which was the number one watch card on ebay it is the most watched wrestling card auction in history per adam's data which is something to think about like so many people watching i was watching babyface did like a watch party watching a countdown to the end and i was like that's awesome watching the videos you know monday night when this went off just people talking about it and knowing that like this is a cool moment this is a great moment for everybody it was just something special that i think wrestling cards really did needed that opportunity i'm glad to see that topps has taken advantage of it i'm glad to see social media is going off within it's not just for me because i want it it's because the whole and i can't contest that enough because the wrestling card community is the best or was the best or will be you name it they there really is there's nothing like anything else that's why you and i are such close friends that wrestling brings us together but the card collecting and you and i collect a lot of other things as well because we have problems but again it's just crazy to see the amount of people watching this card which also scared the living pee out of me so speaking of the jade card going obviously speaking of baby face breaks who broke this he broke the other day that the jade card gill sold for seventy four hundred dollars in a private deal i believe was it two or three days before the orton closed if i'm correct yep so yeah i know lewis is a big jade collector i'm sure he was very very much like i would have paid that in a heartbeat i i mean even before the orton sale my my whole mind was like what it went for that number seventy four hundred dollars i i think was about half of what it's worth but what are your thoughts because no you're spot on and and lewis you know i i don't and maybe you do and we could talk about it off camera i don't know who owns it now but i lewis was was prepared to pay double that lewis lewis had set a budget aside of fifteen k thinking that that would get it done and and i i think i thought that it would fall there i said maybe there's a world where he has to stretch a little bit to get to twenty i feel like twenty k is gonna be sort of the number and and orton sort of puts that in perspective where like some of those you know their their main event names they're they're good but they're not like goat level right like and and orton raised that a little bit like i was ready for twenty for jacob right now i'm like oh well shoot maybe twenty ain't gonna get it done right like so we'll see how it plays out but i think for jade like the the seventy four hundred was was shocking and and lewis had that you know the previous top sale of the forty one fifty that that was him and so you know he's he knows her market understands her market and sort of you know i i guess there's one or two people who he's hoping don't own the card because he'd he'd love for there for there to be a chance for him to get it down the line but we'll see how it plays out but yeah i wonder you know how's that person feeling today who sold that at seventy four hundred because even like you said preordant that just feels really low i mean at the time the order was at sixteen k with several days left if i'm correct and that was before i even put a bid in yeah i didn't bid until saturday i didn't bid until two days before i waited awaited awaited and really contemplated a lot of things since it surfaced i was very talk about for me like joining all these breaks i was into to try to pull that card and the friday night of release it surfaces and i actually was like well i don't even wanna watch breaks anymore because i was watching to see if this card came out so yeah yeah again seeing the jay do that let's hope the guy honored the sale whoever got it congratulations you got a steal and if you're ever interested in selling kevin knows exactly who your buyer is he is the jade cargill super collector and is a great guy and would love to add this to his collection because this would be his number one grail card i would think at this point so yeah so if anybody has a lead on that and and wants to double up that seventy four hundred hit me up or even if you're just open for any sort of negotiation and we can get the wheels moving on that but yeah congratulations to to the owner because that i feel like when it's all said and done and a lot more of these patches play out that's gonna gonna look like the steal of the product run yeah as of right now i do know that drew mcintyre sold privately i don't know the exact number i believe it was higher this i don't know how much higher but that was right i i that's i'm not gonna break in that because i don't have the correct information maybe next week if that buyer who i know wants to divulge that we'll be happy to talk about it here well i think i think we can say that he had publicly put a ten k bounty out on the card so we knew it was at least ten we're assuming it had at at least did that so yes to to the point of it did more than jade and and but to your yeah again to your point like we'll find out maybe find out this week what that number looked like yeah and maybe at this point i feel like it was a goodbye at at ten for drew and drew gets does not get the hobby love he deserves his cards are so affordable he is a hell of a worker amazing on the mic and though any character you give him so i respect a card like that for drew i respect drew as a wrestler and as a person i i've never heard a bad thing about drew hear awesome things and he shows it every week he's in the ring doing stuff so alright we gotta talk about another tops wwe release now we're moving on we've talked enough about royalty last week this week but i think there was a lot to talk about so sapphire eql the other day at three fifty i finally got some eql i got five boxes for the first time in history after trying more times than i could count i actually have some coming that i'll get to rip in my family i'm pretty excited about that i'm hearing great things i know some people were able to break some over the weekend i actually didn't even watch my bloods break yet that i was in they had two cases up i know i'm hearing great things i know somebody had did a personal box i'm not gonna say who and he sent me pictures last night i was like are you kidding me that's one case out of one box i don't know we know this person we're mutual friends with them so what are your thoughts here on this product last year sapphire definitely was underwhelming it was you know it was a tough rip last year this year i'm hearing they jacked it up they they basically took what they did in tops chrome last year to this year which tops chrome last year was great but tops chrome this year was even better and they made this one even better than sapphire what are your thoughts on sapphire coming out because you should see more and more people breaking it this week at the price point i'm i mean eql is three fifty you gotta think these boxes now are what four fifty five hundred a little bit more okay yeah but i it's it's funny because saturday night at you know roughly one am eastern time i did see your name on bless's break because i was right in there with you dude but i did anything because i don't know i don't know if i did no no the big hit the big hit out of that one was brock lesnar orange sapphire selections which was a really nice card but i think the biggest takeaway here for me at least is it's sapphire with a guaranteed auto which a lot of sapphire products across other sports do not have a guaranteed auto auto pull rates are incredibly tough in sapphire and so it's really cool to see you're getting a guaranteed auto i know you and i know i don't know how much the general public knows about how you know i'm sure they can make assumptions about how thrown together sapphire was last year which sort of makes sense right and i think that this is now top saying well look alright forget about that one we had a full production cycle a full year under our belt the one thing that i i would love to see and and i'll draw an old parallel back to panini is how do collectors react to cards that in the hobby normally have a lot of prestige and and fanfare around them but how does that translate in wrestling and one of the bigger misses on that front is if you go back and look at when panini did revolution and the galactics right and like if you pull the anthony edwards rookie galactic it's a multi multi thousand dollar card if you pull a wwe galactic i i bought a psa ten rock and sock connection for like two hundred bucks right it's like a pop four and and so you know with with sapphire the sapphire selections the infinites the case hits like those sort of things how are wrestling collectors going to to view those i think we saw we started to see that with with garbage pail kids right and which i think we're gonna touch a little bit on the garbage pail kids chrome cards in a little bit but like adam texted me you know pretty much on chrome release day if not a day after and was like talk to me from the sports perspective of why do people pay so much for these garbage pile kids and and it's it's sorta yeah i mean the the the the pull rates of them or or the rarity of them in sport has translated a lot more than it has in wrestling but we're sort of starting to see the cycle come around and and so i think sapphire is great i think the cards are gorgeous design wise just even the base cards right like your chrome base cards or even your chrome refractors don't necessarily always have like a premium look and feel to them but i feel like when you're opening a box of sapphire like every card feels special and it feels like a special release in my opinion no you're you're spot on with that again i knew they stepped up i think a lot of it had to go with time they rushed a lot of things out last year they were just know hey we gotta get product out we gotta get wwe we got this license now they've been able to get a year plus under their belt they could do these things a lot better these ignites oh my gosh that'll work right there is incredible love what they're doing i think this is gonna be a fun one to rip i think it's gonna be on the level of logofractor however logofractor is gonna be more affordable than this but right still not a lot of this made there's there's a limited amount of sapphire made just like there is in well logofractor was super limited so curious to see how more and more of this rips but the cards look great overall the the the way the sapphire reflects everything like that so we're getting another back another chrome product that just stands out and it's gonna make up for last year like chrome did this year and again chrome last year was not bad it was but at the market it's at now this year looks like an even bigger steel to rip it so again sapphire love it excited i can't wait to get into more breaks of it there would just was very limited they got out last week to some of the top breakers now we're gonna start seeing more of it surface i would assume any day this week more and more people getting their eqls in more breakers getting cases in so i'm pretty excited to rip some and join some breaks of it so alright only tough product we gotta talk about right now we're gonna talk about some more card market high spot high spots here some big sales i know adam is thrilled not to have to talk about some hulk hogan sales here we've got the we've got the twenty fifteen tops chrome atomic refractor auto that psa ten just did nine thousand seven hundred sixty dollars on bids it is a pop one if you're familiar with twenty fifteen tops chrome this was hogan's first chrome auto amazing image here big autograph obviously it is what it is revolutionary what are your thoughts here because the atomic is not low numbered it's it's i mean it's number to five but it's it's not a one zero one it's a psa ten which again these were made decently shaped back then but doing almost ten thousand hours on bids here i am shocked frankly no kidding i i i am and no look like i appreciate hulk hogan for what he what he was to wrestling and what he is to wrestling but you sort of when you look at like fandom and who people are collecting right like more so feel like the hogan people would rather go after like the eighty two all stars right like and and go after high grade like like if you tell me oh an eighty two hogan all star broke another record or whatever like i wouldn't be surprised but to have a a modern auto right especially because like it ain't for lack of signing right like and and so it is i don't know this this sale sorta has me scratching my head congratulations to the buyer congratulations to the seller but yeah i just i it's a nice card i i don't think i'd i'd be a player at it at anywhere near that price though yeah i and and so i'm just surprised and bids which is great but again i i think a lot of people are cashing now with the documentary on netflix which i've watched i loved it i thought it was great donna if you i'm sure you watch it as well and if you've we grew up in that time obviously i'm a eighties baby but i watch hogan in the nineties obviously late eighties early nineties so getting to see some of that stuff and it there's no halls barred don't watch it around kids i'll tell you that because there's some moments you're like oh okay he liked to party but two hours so the other one though i think this actually was a good buy we have the twenty two select black global icons with him ripping off obviously the shirt is trademarked however it's got the american flag in the background these cards with the flag of anybody behind usually go premium money at this one this one did thirty five hundred dollars on the best offer on may fourth as a psa ten i think this was a good buy i i agree and i think you know when collectors talk about sets over time right like twenty two was was the first year that panini came back with product so you know twenty two prism has that premium you know it does the question become ten years twenty years down the line whatever it is like are all twenty two panini products gonna be seen in the same regard as prism with this like oh my god this was you know if prism was one this is one a for select and and again to your point right like hogan and america are just sorta things that have always paired well go hand in hand man who really does it right and and you know there's other cards in this set like the finn balor one is nice but it like okay fine right like it's this flag behind them there's there's other ones you know that sort of are the same thing i think the british bulldog one is a fun one with the flag in the background of him but but this hogan one just screams right like you're it's funny because on both of these cards you're getting a very similar image yeah and the question is did did the ink make the difference you know if if this one on the bottom was was a super instead of a black would the number be a lot different right like but no i i agree i think that that's a that's a really fun buy at that price and and a and a solid one i do yeah i i would take i'd take a flyer on that one thirty five hundred i don't know about the other one but i i mean if somebody really wanted it it makes sense you know so another sale here speaking of garbage pail kids you are again huge on these as well and the tops come this year we have the bianca belair super fractor did ninety one hundred dollars we're seeing these cards bringing big money for the supers have you had a chance to track down any supers for you yet and what are your thoughts here with what they're doing you've gotta love this from a person who loves garbage pail but probably from a financial standpoint you're probably like why are these doing these numbers off the bat so i wanna get your thoughts because you're the perfect person to talk about with these cards yeah i'm i'm not surprised right i i think that part of pro wrestling that makes it fun and appealing to so many people is the fact that at times it doesn't take itself so seriously and so i think the garbage pail license lends lends pretty well into this to answer about me being able to track down any of the supers that i'm looking for the answer is not yet there is one that's not quite a super but close that's on ebay that i'm working on that ends in a couple of days and so we'll see from recording to release it won't it won't it won't upload too far i understand you so i think you're okay at this point i'm just not a hundred percent sure when it ends but either way i'm i'm i'm hopefully gonna win the card regardless so we'll see but i i think it's it's really cool they're really unique they capture the characters really well and and i think what happens a lot in in cards in general is like once somebody gets a baseline price the general public just sort of falls in line with it and i think that once the first domino fell in the garbage pail kids and we sort of got that okay these are probably gonna be the five to ten range right like everything has started to fall into that and of course it'll be different when the scene comes out it'll be different when the cody comes out and then that five to ten range will get you know shot up exponentially but you know and and and you know it too there's there's some part of it where it's like do we trust this insert set long term right because it it isn't depicting your your character it's depicting a version of them but especially like on this bianca one think it's great because her hair has always been you know a focal point of her her character and even her ring work to a degree and so it's one of those where it's not like you know i think the garbage trail kids where like it's like a gross image sort of some people are like oh i don't like my wrestler depicted like that but like this one is just a fun one and so the the price point on this sort of it doesn't surprise me okay yeah i'm lucky enough to say that i acquired the orton that surfaced pretty quick out of a hobby box from a shop in ohio so i'm lucky to have that and i have the original artwork too you were able to again we talked about earlier obtain some of those so i never posted it because i actually sent it off to grade it probably won't grade better than nine however when i do post i wanna post that with the artwork and i'm probably gonna get professionally framed together i'm not since there's no ink on it i have no problem meeting the autograph of it being a little bit light stuff like that so love the set i think it's picking up i think now that they got in basketball with cooper flagg i think you're gonna see some big numbers so it translates over as well and and wrestling has brought big money moving on to another one here this one could be subject to a lot of people you have to probably like this guy he's doesn't have a lot to do wwe anymore but we have the travis scott twenty twenty five cactus jack rayway black autograph here that one's over to ten psa nine doing four thousand dollars so we know travis scott hollows bring big money but for somebody that may not have anything to do with wwe again we don't really know what are your thoughts here on this sale travis scott ruined professional wrestling no no i i i mean look i i i think it it has been very public his sort of involvement and then eventual split from wrestling and so what's weird for me about this one is he has autos in not the wrestling sets right and so normally i would joke with you offline and say that this is a card that like i would buy for the meme purposes because like it's from the mania where he ruined mania right like and and i would own it for that reason but but even for me this one is is sort of you know i wonder as a whole as topps has heavily tied their horse to to travis scott and are pushing out a cactus jack release every year for every sport now i wonder if and we'll find out next year right like does his severed relationship with wwe like is top sensitive to that and then sort of is like alright well we're not gonna you know wrestling fans won't necessarily want something with his name or logo on it because of the way that a particular crowd feels about him or they just gonna look at you know he is a global brand and he is he is money and and continue the train so weird weird sale for me but what do you think about this one yeah we it's not for me obviously they pivoted this year and did logofractor instead and again these were i think four or five hundred bucks a box for the wrestlemania cactus jack last year and you had to enter this thing you could get one a day whereas this year you get wrestlemania you got logofractor for a hundred dollars a box so i think it was a much better rip and i think the point of logofractor was to get people hey let's get some new people into the wrestling cards at mania world i loved it a hundred dollars a box price point was an absolute steal they did limit one per day and then obviously got word as the days went on they had a lot left and they were letting people buy more but i think it was the right pivot again this card does nothing for me we go from one year cody gets popped in the head by a fist the next year he gets popped by a punt by randy so cody's track record not too good with his face and eyes but yeah i'm i'm not big i'm not a i'm not a i'm not into the music i'm more of a rock guy so travis scott doesn't really do much for me i'm glad he's out of the space from my standpoint i'm with you i'm not as big i do like jelly roll i think he's he's showing it and he's lost the weight i do like i said bad bunny really put himself on the map for me as a wrestler but we never got to see him with travis scott from what i saw was like this guy is not gonna be able to hold his crown in the match so crazy sale but i know they bring money big money again i sounds like it's just not for me or you but congrats to the winner that owns this card alright i did see this surface the other day uh-oh we got a head shake here a little lee trevino here so this surface i think it was up for six thousand best offer when i saw it is the twenty two prism w w j u so black prism p s a nine for those who don't know psa nine on these is like basically a psa ten there was a lot of condition issues for the first year prism again the black one zero one sold for three thousand dollars it sounds like you are were wanting this card i i'm trying to get your reaction here what what are your thoughts because i i feel like you've got something to say here no so so me me wanting it aside and and look part of this might be on me is like i fundamentally if you have a card listed for twenty five thousand dollars on ebay and i think it's worth fifteen thousand like i'm not gonna offer you fifteen thousand because i don't handle rejection well right and so i'd rather just leave it alone right and just like alright well it's not for me so when a card sells for half of the buy it now you know it's it's it's always like a sorta oh coulda shoulda woulda yeah i think at three thousand dollars in the grand scheme of wrestling collectability this card is just an absolute home run-in this deal for somebody and whoever won it congratulations again when when you look at significance in the card world about sets right and it's always o three four exquisite if you you know whatever whatever year chrome it is right like when you look back at those like and and to be able to say that this is you know a main event guy who you know it's first year prism it's it's the black one zero one like you said nine is is a very strong grade for it and i mean look at how much some of the golds are fetching just because of set completionists who who want the set right and not to say that anybody is is crazy enough to go after the black one of one set because we saw how hard the gold set was for somebody to complete but this this one i feel like if we bookmark this one and look back a couple of years from now this is gonna be an absolute steal i just think it's a it's it's a really good buy and for somebody who you know might just sell t shirts and not be a main event player on the singles run like his contribution to wrestling up to this point has been huge and i think that it's it's it's an important card and it's it should go down as one of his key cards yeah it is and it's funny he's got a young dominic macere before he got all tatted up to on his shoulders the image is is great yeah it's nowadays this went off may fourth obviously the orton sold days later i gotta think it's gonna drive up some other one on ones twenty two prism is gonna continue to go up golds blacks will be the main two that are affected down the road i'm not a big juso guy but this is one at three thousand dollars i would have bought and threw in a box and eventually sold because this has upside to it regardless if you can go buy other jay usos from like select for five six hundred bucks but being the significance again going back to what i was saying psa nine to destroy like psa tens and if somebody is crazy enough to go for the black one zero one set ain't gonna happen because i got the orton and rollins and i ain't ever moving them i was gonna say the sole i have the solo locked up i know who has the bronze breaker locked up like no the set the set is damn near impossible but the golds do bring fetch what's crazy is i own the the row jeez the orton black the orton gold shimmer to three but i don't have a true gold still like i gotta find one i'm gonna have to pay a stupid number just to get it to complete the rainbow so but again i think we both agree i sold it for six thousand and i didn't even think to make an offer and now i'm with you i'm kinda kicking the tires like man i woulda i woulda paid that so kudos congrats whoever got this i think we both can agree here you got a really good buy another one here she is the women's nxt champion right now we've got this lola vice from royalty it's got it's the triumph relic auto one zero one got images so two of there's three swatches here one of which has her lips and the other two have her eyes pretty cool obviously this is event use this one zero one just sold for twenty six hundred and five dollars on auction on may ninth so recently what are your thoughts here because i love the patches that they did obviously this is on card the platinum looks great i know lola we've been talking a little bit about lace she's got some good following she now just won the belt i got to see it actually at stand and deliver so it's great to finally see her win the title but what are your thoughts here at twenty six hundred dollars i think she's great i think it's entertaining this is this is far from my favorite subset in the product i think you know it stinks that the patches are so good but the windows are so small yes but other than that i think you know she doesn't have a ton of high end stuff out there right now and so this is this is sort of establishing the market for her i think that she is going to you know she comes from a boxing background she's she's tough she's entertaining she's she's got a lot going for her so i think she is somebody who will get a push and continue to get a push down the line i think it's it's a great buy i probably i wouldn't have paid it but i i can a hundred percent get behind somebody buying this at that price point i think it's it's a really cool looking card yeah i like what they so she originally came up to the main roster they just didn't really know what to do with her so sitting her back down was a great call in my opinion for what she could do get her more eyes get her more reps get her more matches and then when it's time bring her up so i gotta think she's probably a next year call up i would think officially call up and maybe stay in the main roster so again this is one of her better cards to surface if not the best yet maybe outside of a super fracture inscription auto which we've talked about one of her super selling before but yeah i'm with you the windows are just too tiny it doesn't really justify some of the relics that i've seen with these that have nasty patches like i know there's alexa bliss has got some nice ones la knight so again i think that's something they could probably clean up next year i i love the jumbo relic autos the ones that are the sideways ones especially with some of the patches that i've seen and i know liv morgan says hers is from i believe is it may rumble i think it is her relic i love how some of these say that on the back and i think we talked about that last week so again i'm with you i probably wouldn't have paid this but if you're prospecting and you wanna be a little advice collector i mean i can see it completely with way her trajectory and as as kevin put at it there's not enough out there for right now so alright so talking about the main title match topic this week when dealing with a high value card and completing a high dollar transaction what advice to get do you give to collectors who may not be experienced i think it's fitting that adam post these two cards knowing that one of which is in your face that i own which is the jacob fod two from cactus jack super fractor auto and the other one now which did not state the award and so kevin i gotta ask you what is your advice at this point put me on the spot here it's it's it's tricky right because i think that a lot of times wrestling collectors specifically like to your point that you made earlier with the orton like you're buying the card because you want the card right and and so i always tell people and i think wrestling cards is is you know i like to tell people who come in the shop just in general right like if you come into the shop with twenty five bucks in your pocket or you come into the shop with twenty five thousand bucks in your pocket right like you can find something that you like if you're into collecting right if you're somebody who just wants to rip the box because you want the big hit and then whatever like it's not for you but like don't don't reach right like that's that's if if you sorta people who are entering the wrestling space now who and i and i see it on facebook groups right where i'm in lower end like aew card groups on facebook and like people scoff at like somebody spending five hundred dollars on a card right like the comments go crazy and and it's just sorta we are going to see a lot of measuring contests happening really soon in the wrestling card space on the high end market specifically and i think if you don't know what you're getting into there it it can get crazy right like and and i'm not this is not me saying oh if you know somebody collect somebody don't bid on it right like that's that's not the message here at all i a hundred percent believe everybody should have a chance at everything right like but it's just like you're gonna start to see to some extent logic get thrown out the window by collectors who have been doing this a long time and ryan maybe one day you tell folks what your what your max bid actually was on the orton maybe you don't but like there are some cards that are gonna come up that people are just gonna say i'm not gonna lose this and then there's there'll be the consolation prizes right because then the person who doesn't win the orton you know mania patch when the next one comes up do they go crazy on that because then they're like well i didn't get this one so i'm gonna get this one right like and so sort of sort of just understand the market and if a guy normally has his high end auto selling for fifteen hundred dollars and then all of sudden they're being listed at seven to eight thousand dollars right like it might just be a temporary bump because of the craziness that's happening in the high end card market right now with wrestling or or it could be the new norm right and and but let let time figure that out because if you're if you're trying to jump into the more expensive stuff now it's it's gonna get like the wild west but on the other stuff i mean it's it's it's really just i don't know but like buy who you like but also at the same time just know that there are some insane collectors of certain wrestlers out there who just don't like to lose right and just so don't bid unless you know you need something don't go crazy bidding on it right like you you might see it again or if you'll never see it again like if you wake up the next morning are you gonna be annoyed that you didn't win it right like that's where i'm at yeah no well said i think a lot of points there to go with that i the biggest thing is there's data out there kartladder is great for that and they're getting more and more wrestling on the index there so use data to your knowledge use sales history you could see trajectories of other you know similarity things however look at the dates you know where you know when kartladder is gonna give you a broad range of years you know it all depends on what that wrestlers do at the time or what the market has done in that time so i'm always about hey my goal as a collector is if i pull a great wrestling card one zero one i know that collector i wanna try to get in their hands little different from my position because i'm blessed to know and be friends with a lot of you guys that collect and i can just go to you and say hey this just happened or my customer just pulled this or i've got a lead on this for you and i know that the people that are the true collectors are going to pay top dollar and make sure like hey we're not trying to get one over on you here we wanna get this into my collection last night sorry whenever you listen to the recording when this order went off this was one that just meant a lot to me for the moment to just have that so yes i went way outside of my norm on this one i even did that with the topps comb super fracca inscription all this year but it was one of those things where timing was right i was at wrestlemania waking up to my phone and the community as a whole between text phone calls messages reached out to me to say hey this orton super factor auto surfaced and i was able to get in contact with the guy so there's a don't live on an island as adam says this community is growing and you have a great opportunity here to reach out between the facebook groups instagram obviously the national we have wrestling car takeover which is gonna be that friday night where you're gonna have at least three hundred and fifty rusting card collectors i hope it's not much more because we might get in trouble because it's a three hundred and fifty person max but this community is like none other i have done this for i'm a show my age here thirty seven years now i started collecting i was five years old to do the math i'm i think about that i'm forty two wrestlemania forty two just happened so put that in perspective i've been around that long and some people order to listen to saying shut up kid but younger people are like wow this guy's old so again i've done this long enough i've done the other sports there's just no you can't just reach out and say i know that collector in other sports you there are people that do but the wrestling card collectors are very devout they're very passionate they really know what they want and they're really wanting it they're gonna go for it i will admit i don't get every randy orton one on one and that's okay the ones i want i'm gonna go get but it's fine like there's other ones that get picked up by other people that collect them i'm cool with that man i've got more important things in my life with with my family you have your family that comes first family always first we're both just blessed to be in the space to where we get to run card shops live our kid fantasy dream every day play with cards oh and by the way we get to collect the cards that we love and we're able to do that because we have these businesses that allow it so it is very competitive and it's only gonna continue to grow and be more competitive wrestling cards are still just growing and the track record and the awareness of it out there it's gonna be more readily available tops is gonna continue to make more products make more products readily available between hobby shops between target's walmart's dick's they're really pushing forth a lot of marketing obviously in the main sports but there's more going towards wrestling and i hope people see that so just know that this community is like no other i hope you can get and build relationship friendships that last long term long time and and use that to your advantage so reach out to one of us heck dm us hit us up hey i pulled this card it's a one zero one do you know the super collector adam's got an index of all the collectors on main events go there you know we're just there's opportunity but again sometimes the best plan of attack is throw it on auction and see what happens let people bid at it let's it was pretty cool finding out that karl anthony towns was going after this card that was really awesome i was just sitting there like blown away shan's passed out sleeping this time and i'm like i'm sorry too i i outbid an nba player i beat an nba player you know it's just again that's not me too my heart's just pretty cool experience so again i i don't think you gonna show up to dallas and then karl anthony towns jersey just so everybody knows the e a hundred percent i don't think i could wear a knicks jersey i just don't think i have it in me but i'm a big josh hart guy i actually have his nt logo man have you do you do i do i'm a big josh hart guy so i do root for josh hart so if it means i'm rooting for the knicks i'm rooting for the knicks i i don't have any ill will truly against them but wherever lebron plays i'll i'll wear a jersey so i don't think we'll see him anymore which also might be the knicks well it's possible you never know maybe i don't know at this point so great points again just one last thing we talked about it we got
