then i hit an orton the other day so it's kinda like opening on christmas right now i mean yes it's good to see something in there versus a bunch of base so yeah yeah i mean like i i still haven't hit one of the red white and blues yet i've i've gotten probably half to more maybe two thirds of the cases i've done but like i've gotten a lot of the cards back now and it's it's been so much fun because you like you're always like what did i get in this one what did i get in this one and it's just like and then you you pull it out like oh wow i shouldn't have paid money on ebay for that one and technically this also shows the issues that we have because we joined too many breaks for our yes wrestlers and we have no idea who who we're getting or what we're getting so yeah yeah exactly just because we have a special guest coming on let's let's get into the opening pyro here it it was definitely a a week of wrestling that i would say i did not expect and i think that just coming into like wrestlemania i thought we had a pretty good idea of what was gonna happen and then no that's not what happened so we're we're gonna go back to friday's smackdown by the time you guys are listening to it another smackdown will have happened but like let's just take a second to understand the crazy situation that happened so cody rhodes loses a number of times and but i guess because drew mcintyre fucked with everything and and jacob fatu and everybody nick aldis comes out of the post show of elimination chamber as we talked about last week on the podcast and says oh yeah we're gonna give cody a title match and everybody's like oh drew's gonna interfere or somebody's gonna get interference and drew's gonna walk away with the title yeah that is not what happened and for the first time in wwe history from what i was reading on the stats twitter the title changed hands on like one of the smackdowns leading into the wrestlemania sort of like buildup so now cody rhodes is the wwe undisputed champion for some godforsaken reason and i don't know i didn't know why i do now but i i didn't know why and i'm curious like when you saw this go down as an orton fan you obviously wanted to make sure that randy had the best opportunity to win this i think increases his odds significantly but when you saw cody rhodes walking on a smackdown with a championship like you had to have been as dumbfounded as i was okay for the record from what i remember i think they've already had matches with drew where he couldn't challenge again i guess we just wanted to forget about that wwe i think there was a whole stipulation where as long as drew is champ cody couldn't challenge him sounds great i know and then so wait you're telling me if you ain't first you're last well it didn't matter if you finished second in the elimination chamber yeah you next thing you know you're gonna be winning the title in six days so i expected fatu to interfere which he somewhat did but caused the match for cody then opening up a fatal four way match however we know what happened i mean cody's your champ orton versus cody at mania they've already had a match they see people seem to oh they haven't had a match well they had a match a year ago it's a great match and and orton hesitated to to punt cody costing him the match don't think we're gonna see that this time i hope not but yeah it's okay sure cody alright we're we're going cody nothing's changed he's same cody cody's our champ right now yeah yeah he's the same cody he's ever been same as it ever was and i i mean let's he's now a three tie a three time champion i think like i think he's a three time champion think we're up to three now but i don't let's see one yes because he got it back from cena and then lost to get it back from drew yes yeah yeah that's that's getting into some rarefied air i don't think anybody expected cody to be title list for the rest of his career in wwe but i don't think the flip flopping he's won it twice he won it at wrestlemania forty was was champion for a year and then it's flip flop between two or three people now cena cody and drew and it's just like i i feel like from a from a perspective of an internet wrestling mark i would have been say like why are they hotshotting the title but then like everybody always says like we need shorter championship reigns i don't think it was supposed to be this short though for drew mcintyre so i think anyways like i think from a hobby impact like this is significant like aren't many three time wwe champions out there like drew mcintyre is a four time champion but most of his title reigns have been short cody rhodes is is entering sort of like status of like being a made guy for life and you know this is entering hall of fame territory like do you like hobby impact wise i think he's a widely collected individual he's he's you know probably one of the most popular wrestlers for with the kids similar to what john cena was or roman reigns was i was about to say that yes you're right yeah so i mean like this is this is significant yeah i mean for for him to get three already obviously and you know he won't get into double digits at his age but could he end up at five six seven eight at this point sure i mean if they're gonna keep flip flopping it and let people borrow because i think orton wins but i don't think he's gonna carry it too long of a tad of rain i i mean we're gonna here's the deal punk loses roman's not gonna be a fighting champion we gotta have somebody that's gonna fight and and i think if we have a face orton yes if we have a heel orton no so i'm really curious what happens going forward for both belts based on who has it i would be very upset if cody leaves mania as the champion i think that is a massive ball drop by wwe i get what they're doing they're they're saying this is a better you know main event matchup for night one of of that and i i don't disagree but i also think drew has earned everything has put in the work has had a great storyline everything and i guess what i'm hearing is that he's gonna go taping the highlander movie or something he wants to get an acting as one of the three know that coming into this i'm not gonna break out it makes sense so i guess if you're gonna pivot that way and be a short term champion in cody and get him to number three then i'm okay with it i i think you're gonna come out of this somebody's gonna turn heel i would love a heel orton so bad i've been asking for it for years now but i don't know where they go from here but i hopefully know that orton's gonna walk out champion but again i'm shocked at the chain of events i think it's kinda ridiculous to have somebody lose elimination chamber and then oh by the way you're gonna get a title shot and win like come on i i yeah that kinda drove me nuts yeah and so just in terms of drew i i didn't know drew mcintyre was gonna be in this movie i am a giant highlander fan because there could be only one it won the academy award for the best movie ever made it did but i think like you had a chance to like go and be a main character or a a pretty significant role in this movie like i i understand he's won the title before this isn't like it's something that's you know defining his career like i think this was always gonna be something that you know i i i see why he's making the choice that he did but then why did you put the belt on like the the there like he this has been in the works for a while like the i i don't get it like personally smackdown booking has been a mess road dogg i think was was likely the culprit from the perspective of every internet wrestling march out there him any favors no and like so now road dogg's gone they've hired somebody new or whatever so hopefully smackdown you know the beatings will continue until smackdown improves we'll see but is drew ever gonna get to be the guy i i don't like i really like what he's done he's great on the mic he's great on social media he's he's an amazing wrestler i i love his stuff like i wanna see him get an extended run and i'm sad that his title reign ended the way that it did i do think that when he does return though he's gonna be put fast track back into the limelight into the opportunity i mean for him to just drop it the way it was he deserves a chance he deserves to have a reign longer than the reigns he's had i mean let's be honest the mania one where he had a reign for about seven minutes of that right you know so but no i think he's put in the time but again i think at this point in his career life after wrestling if you wanna get into acting you gotta get started somewhere big opportunity with henry caville this is a great opportunity so if that's the case we're gonna go with fine yeah so drew's cards i i think you know never really been all that valuable i think he's he's he's probably got a few collectors out there i'm trying to like put a name to the the list that i have and i i can't think of it off the top of my head but i know he's got some guys that collect them and like you know he's always been like a ten fifteen dollar autograph he's won a couple of titles so now he's probably like a twenty twenty five dollar autograph i don't think that this is really gonna impact that all that much but you know i again i wanna see him get a shot like i want him to have a shot in terms of monday night raw this whole masked man angle like with seth rollins like when they did the the truffle shuffle in the ring i was just like and all the guys are running around with their masks like i almost lost it like i was like this is absolutely hilarious well they're doing a night of shadows from batman i've been shipping mostly exactly but it's like you could have done it a little more casual not like a bunch of idiots running around the ring like running everywhere like nice shit it's like worked in and then they just moved around a little bit this this was comical i was dying back to watch i they clearly did not practice it enough somebody lost a shoe but like because i think like logan paul had like pick up a shoe and throw it out of the ring when they were running around oh my gosh like i i'm i'm i if it ends up being rollins versus logan paul at wrestlemania like that's gonna be an absolute banger of a match like logan paul is a great wrestler and he's a great heel and i think putting seth in a role where he can get his revenge on the vision probably was done in haste because i don't think anybody expected him to be injured but like you know it's a it's a it's a good match like it's gonna be a matchup matchup bronson reed because bronson reed was supposed to have this limelight moment it's a better matchup in my opinion you're gonna see a could arguably be the best match of many this year if we get logan paul and rollins i really think that that could be the match of like holy crap like if you just appreciate great wrestling and i know i'm a you know seth fan but i think you're gonna watch a great match if it's those two head to head yeah and then the the centimeters punk promo at the end i love the the the nukes that they are trading in these promos him and roman reigns even though roman wasn't there last night all the stuff that centimeters punk is doing is unsurprisingly awesome but like i think the whole idea that they're bringing the usos back into this because centimeters punk is making comments about their uncle and whatever like are we building towards a bloodline reunion like what's like are they trying to set up some storyline architecture that gives roman some some weeks off because he's not gonna be there every week as champion so like what are well like what was what's kind of the usos role gonna be in all this i think jay was acting like a cartoon character jimmy was legitimately awesome in that promo last night i i don't know why they keep putting jay usos in these positions he he just ruined the the complete aesthetic of everything in that segment i think centimeters punk and jimmy uso like absolutely killed their roles and then jay uso being a clown was not good but like man like centimeters punk and roman reigns have had history for ten plus years thanks to that podcast and like i cannot wait for this no it's gonna be great i think we're gonna see more legendary you know feuds with with the the opportunities to watch these two talk and go at each other yes and just he said throwing bombshells after bombshells pipe bombs i mean god that promo they cut was it last monday holy crap i've watched that three times now that was so good that was classic stone cold rock esque cut promo like just straight up no halls barreds going at it love it i hope we get at least two more times with them going at it between now and mania think we're gonna get quite a few we might even get a tag match or something coming can they coexist yeah i i think we'll get some more interactions i really hope that it's not just like oh we're gonna put them face to face in the ring because even though they're the best when they do that and and it will be entertaining like i want something a little bit more substantial like get something built where there's even more personal aspects to this there's there's some violence behind it maybe get one of the usos or sour somebody to to beat up something else like it's gotta there's gotta be some physicality involved although i don't wanna see punk and roman throwing hands until mania like get something else going i think they'll have that over the next month plus whatever it is so let's move on to some of the market stuff here for the high spots big announcement on huge and like out of no this was rko out of nowhere like the tops on instagram on on two on monday sorry said oh by the way this friday we're gonna do our first ever wrestling dutch auction and we're gonna release the preorder for topps chrome first day issue the twenty twenty six version of it it's gonna be almost identically structured i would say the the way they solicit and sell first off the line boxes for panini so if you haven't had a chance to read up on main event on what first day issue represents it is basically first off the line but dutch auction i was really hoping we were gonna move away from this format it's not it's not something that's favorable to anybody but tops and that's unfortunate it does guarantee that if you really wanna buy it you can pay and you can get that access that everybody's been hoping for you will not have to fight bots and stuff like that if you wanna get it at that higher price but i i think the the dutch auction format really does favor the manufacturer in that respect the reverse blind dutch auction is where everybody really benefits and that's on the collector side but it does take away from some of the profits i would guess so i was hoping there was gonna be like some sort of other way i think the coolest way to do this would have been like do the preorder for chrome like the normal preorder for chrome and every so often insert an a first day issue box in it i like that i like that and like give people like lottery like system like we do for topsnow like hey order your normal chrome preorder boxes we're gonna do it through eql but you could get lucky and get one of these first day issue boxes anyways so when you saw this go up were did you did your heart skip a beat just like mine did was like oh oh here we go for the record i didn't see it go up but my friend adam here was making sure to give me all the details about it and everything we actually talked quite a bit about it i'm excited i do think there's gonna be a very large demand for this i know you wanna talk about the predictions we don't know do we not still not know what they're gonna come out at starting by the time people are listening to it the auction will be done so like they were gonna like we're we're recording this ahead of the release here and so we we're gonna speculate on sort of what we expect and you can have a a a real sort of understanding by the time you listen to this podcast you're gonna be like well these guys are idiots or these guys are smart so hopefully we'll air on the side of smart but yeah we don't have anything on price i'm gonna guess they start at twelve hundred a box and tick down but who knows yeah i'm gonna guess they start at a thousand i would hope i think it's gonna be a little bit if they don't if they start any higher i think my gut's telling me that this is gonna sell out around the six hundred price point and why it's because if you look at what lasher's tops chrome is they're about six hundred right now this is a first day issue first time ever doing this and i gotta think if this is gonna sell it at six hundred i'm hoping it goes less i don't know i think there's enough demand out there plus with the the opportunity out there to get wwe right now isn't readily available like it we had hoped to be something tells me that does that then hobby's gonna be about the four hundred dollar price range i mean if universe is three three fifty chrome's gotta be four hundred plus so you gotta think tack on for what it is with the parallels you get i hope i'm wrong i hope it falls lower but i wouldn't be shocked to see it go higher i think if depending on how much they made we don't know do they they haven't leaked out how much they made yet or do do people figure it out what they can guesstimate nope you know i i'm guessing it's gonna be in that six range i hope to grab someone who would be in chicago for the show but adam's gonna keep me posted on it yes so because i'll be at the show and i'll be i'll hotspot my computer and i'm have paid seven but you got the bottom at four so cost average you should be in like the six hundred or whatever yeah and so there's gonna be two parallels per box that are special to first day issue one of them is the silver parallel which has like kinda like a diamond cut look to it it's the same one that they had in basketball and there will be a a tricolor one as well i believe they should be out of twelve and out of eight but i'm not sure i'm as we speak i'm trying to figure out the the the way to sort of talk about this online but like the the idea that there's gonna be those two parallels is going to drive the market considerably secondly there's going to be two autographs per box one of them is the first day issue parallel so you'll get one regular autograph and you'll get one first day issue autograph i assume it'll be very low number and i'm actually kinda shocked they didn't do this for exalted because we saw centimeters punk signing the cards so i don't know why this is the first product they do it for maybe they come back and do an exalted first day issue maybe they wanted to lead with chrome to get people introduced and they know that it's gonna sell well but i i was a big fan of panini's first off the line boxes the program itself maybe you know you can have your your your druthers about however you wanna go about doing this but i loved collecting the first offline parallels i think the silver the diamond shimmer parallel whatever they wanna call it looks awesome it will look super clean in wrestling the tricolors tend to clash a little bit with the way that they've designed it so we'll have to see how it plays out but topps sent me some images of like some of the completed autograph cards for becky lynch topps chrome looks really good compared to last year i don't think it's reached its like final form yet but right like you know we'll there's still some stuff that i think they're gonna do over the next few years that i think will make this like the flagship product that it's supposed to be for for here on out but i don't even think we've gotten all the surprises for this year so we'll have to figure out how like all of this is gonna play out there's gonna be some crazy inscriptions there's gonna be some crazy parallels we haven't seen what the frozen fracture parallel is gonna be look like there's gonna be cosmic in this because we've seen them signing that i mean we have very little information so far and people are already hyped to the gills yeah so i'm assuming there's no exact release date of this it's just the release a cody rhodes signed topps now card for his championship win i think it's cody's done a ton of he's probably the person who signed the most topps now cards maybe rhea ripley is number two they've just had the most cards and they're easy signers so topps goes and gets their stuff done but i don't wanna talk about that one i wanna talk about the john cena shohei ohtani dual sign topps now card this caught me by surprise like first of all i didn't see the grand like i saw the grand slam like i saw shoahi ohtani's grand slam in the world baseball classic i did not see the celebration but i guess he did the you can't see me celebration so topps rightfully so went and made a card of this and they're they're both gonna sign it per the preview john cena shohei ohtani on a card together dual signed one of one available foil fracture this is humongous oh yeah have you gone and bought any yet are they first are they ever gonna i've got this i've it's like this is gonna be one of those cards that sells fifty thousand copies so it's like i don't even wanna try it's like the durant curry lebron except that probably sold way more so yeah this is amazing this is more than likely a one time deal this is gonna be absolutely collectible and desirable from a wrestling standpoint and from a ohtani or a baseball standpoint or just in general if you love sports i mean this is pretty awesome man yes ohtani for again this is a wrestling card podcast but we assume because it's stacking slabs people have a good understanding of the ohtani market like it's insane putting ohtani just putting ohtani on a card is like just inflates the value to five figures i would say given the right circumstances once the card is live if it goes to the right auction house and it goes to right like this has the potential to be one of the biggest wrestling card sales of the year and absolutely one of the biggest wrestling card sales potentially of all time correct there's gonna have to be quotation marks on it because it is dual branded with the world baseball classic and wwe but it's still a wrestling card john cena is on the card and like this is just this is gonna be crazy like they if they make more than fifty thousand copies of it it gets chrome parallels so that could be interesting too we've only had one wrestling card reach that before and that was the cena travis scott and rock triple card so this could be the second one given that ohtani is so big internationally this is gonna be enormous as well like this could be an just a ridiculous sale yeah i i'm excited to see this card eventually surface and what we see because this is gonna go to a big auction house i'm curious to see what this thing does but what great opportunity for wrestling cards to really put them completely over the map by adding ohtani to it love it i think whoever came up with this idea was spot on genius let's do more do more of them let's let's figure out a way to combine because i mean like you've seen like wrestling makes its way people do the dx chop crotch chop and when they score touchdowns and stuff we need more of these cars these are awesome yep i'll just go into some big sales here quickly before our guest joins us i was trying to buy this yes so the vince mcmahon even with all the controversy and his ridiculous hairstyles is still selling for insane money this is the green parallel out of twenty twenty one transcendent arguably probably the weakest of the three mid nine grade from psa auto nine his autograph is terrible like so it's it's he's very streaky so getting a nine it's fernan morenci if you remember fernan morenci it's beachhead yes exactly and if you're if you if you haven't seen what fernan morenci's autograph go go look it up on ebay but like it's sold for twenty nine hundred and seventy five dollars via best offer these cards whenever they come up continue to go up in value i like he's he's older he's not gonna sign again ever like this is the card he has three versions of it and one in fully loaded correct like they're so rare they're so hard to find and despite the scandals he is one of the grandfathers of the modern wrestling era he he formulated everything wwe is today it's gonna be hard to deny the the historic value of this just like you know with hulk hogan and all the controversy surrounding him his card still have value not not a shock here but this is humongous price for a green it's not it's the worst parallel of the worst year of transcendent it still sells for three grand yeah i i think it was offered up i offered up like twenty five twenty six hundred i have the psa ten with the nine auto of this card i think i have total like eight or ten mcmahon autos put back right now i've been quietly picking them up quietly not so quietly i just not so quiet anymore can we edit this no i'm joking i wanna we i've i've shied away from showing kaboom sales on here because the it's every week they're going up hundreds of dollars it's not even worth it to talk about them because you can just assume that they're going up and up and up and up and up so i would say this one stone cold steve austin psa ten sold wanted to make sure that randy had the best opportunity to win this i think increases his odds significantly but when you saw cody rhodes walking on a smackdown with a championship like you had to have been as dumbfounded as i was okay for the record from what i remember i think they've already had matches with drew where he couldn't challenge again i guess we just wanted to forget about that wwe i think there was a whole stipulation where as long as drew is champ cody couldn't challenge him sounds great i know and then so wait you're telling me if you ain't first you're last well it didn't matter if you finished second in the elimination chamber yeah you next thing you know you're gonna be winning the title in six days so i expected fatu to interfere which he somewhat did but caused the match for cody then opening up a fatal four way match however we know what happened i mean cody's your champ orton versus cody at mania they've already had a match they see people seem to oh they haven't had a match well they had a match a year ago it's a great match and and orton hesitated to to punt cody costing him the match don't think we're gonna see that this time i hope not but yeah it's okay sure cody alright we're we're going cody nothing's changed he's same cody cody's our champ right now yeah yeah he's the same cody he's ever been same as it ever was and i i mean let's he's now a three tie a three time champion i think like i think he's a three time champion think we're up to three now but i don't let's see one yes because he got it back from cena and then lost to get it back from drew yes yeah yeah that's that's getting into some rarefied air i don't think anybody expected cody to be title list for the rest of his career in wwe but i don't think the flip flopping he's won it twice he won it at wrestlemania forty was was champion for a year and then it's flip flop between two or three people now cena cody and drew and it's just like i i feel like from a from a perspective of an internet wrestling mark i would have been say like why are they hotshotting the title but then like everybody always says like we need shorter championship reigns i don't think it was supposed to be this short though for drew mcintyre so i think anyways like i think from a hobby impact like this is significant like aren't many three time wwe champions out there like drew mcintyre is a four time champion but most of his title reigns have been short cody rhodes is is entering sort of like status of like being a made guy for life and you know this is entering hall of fame territory like do you like hobby impact wise i think he's a widely collected individual he's he's you know probably one of the most popular wrestlers for with the kids similar to what john cena was or roman reigns was i was about to say that yes you're right yeah so i mean like this is this is significant yeah i mean for for him to get three already obviously and you know he won't get into double digits at his age but could he end up at five six seven eight at this point sure i mean if they're gonna keep flip flopping it and let people borrow because i think orton wins but i don't think he's gonna carry it too long of a tad of rain i i mean we're gonna here's the deal punk loses roman's not gonna be a fighting champion we gotta have somebody that's gonna fight and and i think if we have a face orton yes if we have a heel orton no so i'm really curious what happens going forward for both belts based on who has it i would be very upset if cody leaves mania as the champion i think that is a massive ball drop by wwe i get what they're doing they're they're saying this is a better you know main event matchup for night one of of that and i i don't disagree but i also think drew has earned everything has put in the work has had a great storyline everything and i guess what i'm hearing is that he's gonna go taping the highlander movie or something he wants to get an acting as one of the three know that coming into this i'm not gonna break out it makes sense so i guess if you're gonna pivot that way and be a short term champion in cody and get him to number three then i'm okay with it i i think you're gonna come out of this somebody's gonna turn heel i would love a heel orton so bad i've been asking for it for years now but i don't know where they go from here but i hopefully know that orton's gonna walk out champion but again i'm shocked at the chain of events i think it's kinda ridiculous to have somebody lose elimination chamber and then oh by the way you're gonna get a title shot and win like come on i i yeah that kinda drove me nuts yeah and so just in terms of drew i i didn't know drew mcintyre was gonna be in this movie i am a giant highlander fan because there could be only one it won the academy award for the best movie ever made it did but i think like you had a chance to like go and be a main character or a a pretty significant role in this movie like i i understand he's won the title before this isn't like it's something that's you know defining his career like i think this was always gonna be something that you know i i i see why he's making the choice that he did but then why did you put the belt on like the the there like he this has been in the works for a while like the i i don't get it like personally smackdown booking has been a mess road dogg i think was was likely the culprit from the perspective of every internet wrestling march out there him any favors no and like so now road dogg's gone they've hired somebody new or whatever so hopefully smackdown you know the beatings will continue until smackdown improves we'll see but is drew ever gonna get to be the guy i i don't like i really like what he's done he's great on the mic he's great on social media he's he's an amazing wrestler i i love his stuff like i wanna see him get an extended run and i'm sad that his title reign ended the way that it did i do think that when he does return though he's gonna be put fast track back into the limelight into the opportunity i mean for him to just drop it the way it was he deserves a chance he deserves to have a reign longer than the reigns he's had i mean let's be honest the mania one where he had a reign for about seven minutes of that right you know so but no i think he's put in the time but again i think at this point in his career life after wrestling if you wanna get into acting you gotta get started somewhere big opportunity with henry caville this is a great opportunity so if that's the case we're gonna go with fine yeah so drew's cards i i think you know never really been all that valuable i think he's he's he's probably got a few collectors out there i'm trying to like put a name to the the list that i have and i i can't think of it off the top of my head but i know he's got some guys that collect them and like you know he's always been like a ten fifteen dollar autograph he's won a couple of titles so now he's probably like a twenty twenty five dollar autograph i don't think that this is really gonna impact that all that much but you know i again i wanna see him get a shot like i want him to have a shot in terms of monday night raw this whole masked man angle like with seth rollins like when they did the the truffle shuffle in the ring i was just like and all the guys are running around with their masks like i almost lost it like i was like this is absolutely hilarious well they're doing a night of shadows from batman i've been shipping mostly exactly but it's like you could have done it a little more casual not like a bunch of idiots running around the ring like running everywhere like nice shit it's like worked in and then they just moved around a little bit this this was comical i was dying back to watch i they clearly did not practice it enough somebody lost a shoe but like because i think like logan paul had like pick up a shoe and throw it out of the ring when they were running around oh my gosh like i i'm i'm i if it ends up being rollins versus logan paul at wrestlemania like that's gonna be an absolute banger of a match like logan paul is a great wrestler and he's a great heel and i think putting seth in a role where he can get his revenge on the vision probably was done in haste because i don't think anybody expected him to be injured but like you know it's a it's a it's a good match like it's gonna be a matchup matchup bronson reed because bronson reed was supposed to have this limelight moment it's a better matchup in my opinion you're gonna see a could arguably be the best match of many this year if we get logan paul and rollins i really think that that could be the match of like holy crap like if you just appreciate great wrestling and i know i'm a you know seth fan but i think you're gonna watch a great match if it's those two head to head yeah and then the the centimeters punk promo at the end i love the the the nukes that they are trading in these promos him and roman reigns even though roman wasn't there last night all the stuff that centimeters punk is doing is unsurprisingly awesome but like i think the whole idea that they're bringing the usos back into this because centimeters punk is making comments about their uncle and whatever like are we building towards a bloodline reunion like what's like are they trying to set up some storyline architecture that gives roman some some weeks off because he's not gonna be there every week as champion so like what are well like what was what's kind of the usos role gonna be in all this i think jay was acting like a cartoon character jimmy was legitimately awesome in that promo last night i i don't know why they keep putting jay usos in these positions he he just ruined the the complete aesthetic of everything in that segment i think centimeters punk and jimmy uso like absolutely killed their roles and then jay uso being a clown was not good but like man like centimeters punk and roman reigns have had history for ten plus years thanks to that podcast and like i cannot wait for this no it's gonna be great i think we're gonna see more legendary you know feuds with with the the opportunities to watch these two talk and go at each other yes and just he said throwing bombshells after bombshells pipe bombs i mean god that promo they cut was it last monday holy crap i've watched that three times now that was so good that was classic stone cold rock esque cut promo like just straight up no halls barreds going at it love it i hope we get at least two more times with them going at it between now and mania think we're gonna get quite a few we might even get a tag match or something coming can they coexist yeah i i think we'll get some more interactions i really hope that it's not just like oh we're gonna put them face to face in the ring because even though they're the best when they do that and and it will be entertaining like i want something a little bit more substantial like get something built where there's even more personal aspects to this there's there's some violence behind it maybe get one of the usos or sour somebody to to beat up something else like it's gotta there's gotta be some physicality involved although i don't wanna see punk and roman throwing hands until mania like get something else going i think they'll have that over the next month plus whatever it is so let's move on to some of the market stuff here for the high spots big announcement on huge and like out of no this was rko out of nowhere like the tops on instagram on on two on monday sorry said oh by the way this friday we're gonna do our first ever wrestling dutch auction and we're gonna release the preorder for topps chrome first day issue the twenty twenty six version of it it's gonna be almost identically structured i would say the the way they solicit and sell first off the line boxes for panini so if you haven't had a chance to read up on main event on what first day issue represents it is basically first off the line but dutch auction i was really hoping we were gonna move away from this format it's not it's not something that's favorable to anybody but tops and that's unfortunate it does guarantee that if you really wanna buy it you can pay and you can get that access that everybody's been hoping for you will not have to fight bots and stuff like that if you wanna get it at that higher price but i i think the the dutch auction format really does favor the manufacturer in that respect the reverse blind dutch auction is where everybody really benefits and that's on the collector side but it does take away from some of the profits i would guess so i was hoping there was gonna be like some sort of other way i think the coolest way to do this would have been like do the preorder for chrome like the normal preorder for chrome and every so often insert an a first day issue box in it i like that i like that and like give people like lottery like system like we do for topsnow like hey order your normal chrome preorder boxes we're gonna do it through eql but you could get lucky and get one of these first day issue boxes anyways so when you saw this go up were did you did your heart skip a beat just like mine did was like oh oh here we go for the record i didn't see it go up but my friend adam here was making sure to give me all the details about it and everything we actually talked quite a bit about it i'm excited i do think there's gonna be a very large demand for this i know you wanna talk about the predictions we don't know do we not still not know what they're gonna come out at starting by the time people are listening to it the auction will be done so like they were gonna like we're we're recording this ahead of the release here and so we we're gonna speculate on sort of what we expect and you can have a a a real sort of understanding by the time you listen to this podcast you're gonna be like well these guys are idiots or these guys are smart so hopefully we'll air on the side of smart but yeah we don't have anything on price i'm gonna guess they start at twelve hundred a box and tick down but who knows yeah i'm gonna guess they start at a thousand i would hope i think it's gonna be a little bit if they don't if they start any higher i think my gut's telling me that this is gonna sell out around the six hundred price point and why it's because if you look at what lasher's tops chrome is they're about six hundred right now this is a first day issue first time ever doing this and i gotta think if this is gonna sell it at six hundred i'm hoping it goes less i don't know i think there's enough demand out there plus with the the opportunity out there to get wwe right now isn't readily available like it we had hoped to be something tells me that does that then hobby's gonna be about the four hundred dollar price range i mean if universe is three three fifty chrome's gotta be four hundred plus so you gotta think tack on for what it is with the parallels you get i hope i'm wrong i hope it falls lower but i wouldn't be shocked to see it go higher i think if depending on how much they made we don't know do they they haven't leaked out how much they made yet or do do people figure it out what they can guesstimate nope you know i i'm guessing it's gonna be in that six range i hope to grab someone who would be in chicago for the show but adam's gonna keep me posted on it yes so because i'll be at the show and i'll be i'll hotspot my computer and i'm gonna go in and try to buy some i might have to pay up at a higher price just to ensure i get some especially get a case because i wanna rip this stuff i wanna put a case back too because it's the first of its kind doing this wrestling so i hope i'm wrong i hope it falls and goes in the four to five range my gut's telling me it's not i i think that most people are going to get trigger happy and they're gonna buy either way too early or they're gonna wait too long and get shut out and i think that the the best approach and i'm wearing his shirt so shout out rgl james shout out james yeah buy a little bit every time it goes down you'll be able to cost average it pretty nicely at six hundred i am going to be absolutely shocked if it makes it to anywhere close to four or five hundred bucks who knows crazier things have happened like i thought that when they first did twenty twenty four f o t l for for prism i thought it was gonna sell out just at a ridiculous price no it didn't it fell it fell it's gonna be selected fell yep you know and again times are different but those were significantly less i mean and those had great parallels to get so again i i i i guess james is spot on what he does i've done that for years when i used to do first off the line obviously there hasn't been anything that i'm like oh i wanna buy the first day issue this is something i want and i'll start going and buying case it where i feel like again i might be paying in the seven hundred dollar price range to start and keep buying until once i start buying every time it drops i'm gonna keep buying until it's sold out and then cost averaging like he said that's that's huge in our industry especially when you deal in volume and you carry product cost averaging out it's like hey you may have paid seven but you got the bottom at four so cost average you should be in like the six hundred or whatever yeah and so there's gonna be two parallels per box that are special to first day issue one of them is the silver parallel which has like kinda like a diamond cut look to it it's the same one that they had in basketball and there will be a a tricolor one as well i believe they should be out of twelve and out of eight but i'm not sure i'm as we speak i'm trying to figure out the the the way to sort of talk about this online but like the the idea that there's gonna be those two parallels is going to drive the market considerably secondly there's going to be two autographs per box one of them is the first day issue parallel so you'll get one regular autograph and you'll get one first day issue autograph i assume it'll be very low number and i'm actually kinda shocked they didn't do this for exalted because we saw centimeters punk signing the cards so i don't know why this is the first product they do it for maybe they come back and do an exalted first day issue maybe they wanted to lead with chrome to get people introduced and they know that it's gonna sell well but i i was a big fan of panini's first off the line boxes the program itself maybe you know you can have your your your druthers about however you wanna go about doing this but i loved collecting the first offline parallels i think the silver the diamond shimmer parallel whatever they wanna call it looks awesome it will look super clean in wrestling the tricolors tend to clash a little bit with the way that they've designed it so we'll have to see how it plays out but topps sent me some images of like some of the completed autograph cards for becky lynch topps chrome looks really good compared to last year i don't think it's reached its like final form yet but right like you know we'll there's still some stuff that i think they're gonna do over the next few years that i think will make this like the flagship product that it's supposed to be for for here on out but i don't even think we've gotten all the surprises for this year so we'll have to figure out how like all of this is gonna play out there's gonna be some crazy inscriptions there's gonna be some crazy parallels we haven't seen what the frozen fracture parallel is gonna be look like there's gonna be cosmic in this because we've seen them signing that i mean we have very little information so far and people are already hyped to the gills yeah so i'm assuming there's no exact release date of this it's just the the no okay i we gotta get it out before mania for the buyback program yes i hope i mean considering we participate in buyback too i mean it would be nice to be able to have it out a week or two before so i could do a bunch of ripping and already have my bags or at least know what's gonna happen so yeah let's move on to some of the tops now because i wanna cover one specifically they did release a cody rhodes signed topps now card for his championship win i think it's cody's done a ton of he's probably the person who signed the most topps now cards maybe rhea ripley is number two they've just had the most cards and they're easy signers so topps goes and gets their stuff done but i don't wanna talk about that one i wanna talk about the john cena shohei ohtani dual sign topps now card this caught me by surprise like first of all i didn't see the grand like i saw the grand slam like i saw shoahi ohtani's grand slam in the world baseball classic i did not see the celebration but i guess he did the you can't see me celebration so topps rightfully so went and made a card of this and they're they're both gonna sign it per the preview john cena shohei ohtani on a card together dual signed one of one available foil fracture this is humongous oh yeah have you gone and bought any yet are they first are they ever gonna i've got this i've it's like this is gonna be one of those cards that sells fifty thousand copies so it's like i don't even wanna try it's like the durant curry lebron except that probably sold way more so yeah this is amazing this is more than likely a one time deal this is gonna be absolutely collectible and desirable from a wrestling standpoint and from a ohtani or a baseball standpoint or just in general if you love sports i mean this is pretty awesome man yes ohtani for again this is a wrestling card podcast but we assume because it's stacking slabs people have a good understanding of the ohtani market like it's insane putting ohtani just putting ohtani on a card is like just inflates the value to five figures i would say given the right circumstances once the card is live if it goes to the right auction house and it goes to right like this has the potential to be one of the biggest wrestling card sales of the year and absolutely one of the biggest wrestling card sales potentially of all time correct there's gonna have to be quotation marks on it because it is dual branded with the world baseball classic and wwe but it's still a wrestling card john cena is on the card and like this is just this is gonna be crazy like they if they make more than fifty thousand copies of it it gets chrome parallels so that could be interesting too we've only had one wrestling card reach that before and that was the cena travis scott and rock triple card so this could be the second one given that ohtani is so big internationally this is gonna be enormous as well like this could be an just a ridiculous sale yeah i i'm excited to see this card eventually surface and what we see because this is gonna go to a big auction house i'm curious to see what this thing does but what great opportunity for wrestling cards to really put them completely over the map by adding ohtani to it love it i think whoever came up with this idea was spot on genius let's do more do more of them let's let's figure out a way to combine because i mean like you've seen like wrestling makes its way people do the dx chop crotch chop and when they score touchdowns and stuff we need more of these cars these are awesome yep i'll just go into some big sales here quickly before our guest joins us i was trying to buy this yes so the vince mcmahon even with all the controversy and his ridiculous hairstyles is still selling for insane money this is the green parallel out of twenty twenty one transcendent arguably probably the weakest of the three mid nine grade from psa auto nine his autograph is terrible like so it's it's he's very streaky so getting a nine it's fernan morenci if you remember fernan morenci it's beachhead yes exactly and if you're if you if you haven't seen what fernan morenci's autograph go go look it up on ebay but like it's sold for twenty nine hundred and seventy five dollars via best offer these cards whenever they come up continue to go up in value i like he's he's older he's not gonna sign again ever like this is the card he has three versions of it and one in fully loaded correct like they're so rare they're so hard to find and despite the scandals he is one of the grandfathers of the modern wrestling era he he formulated everything wwe is today it's gonna be hard to deny the the historic value of this just like you know with hulk hogan and all the controversy surrounding him his card still have value not not a shock here but this is humongous price for a green it's not it's the worst parallel of the worst year of transcendent it still sells for three grand yeah i i think it was offered up i offered up like twenty five twenty six hundred i have the psa ten with the nine auto of this card i think i have total like eight or ten mcmahon autos put back right now i've been quietly picking them up quietly not so quietly i just not so quiet anymore can we edit this no i'm joking i wanna we i've i've shied away from showing kaboom sales on here because the it's every week they're going up hundreds of dollars it's not even worth it to talk about them because you can just assume that they're going up and up and up and up and up so i would say this one stone cold steve austin psa ten sold for twenty nine hundred dollars via best via auction on yeah on ebay this is an enormous price enormous price i'm glad i picked up the i have a psa authentic of the auto of this version i'm glad i got that about a year ago and i threw it back in the box there you go let me p there are people who have complete sets of this in psa ten i am very jealous very jealous last sale that we'll cover here before our guest joins us wow rhea ripley oh i forgot to change the price point it's not twenty nine hundred dollars rhea ripley's foil fractor base autograph from topps universe sold for fifteen hundred dollars via best offer within minutes like this this sold so fast steve didn't even see it that's insane i i think this is the base card rhea ripley out of tops universe it is great looking photo i think these are not chrome cards they're foil fractures so it's it's just the one zero one parallel i think it looks really cool but fifteen hundred dollars big price for but here's my point how many cards does she have in the base set though that's what people aren't considering she probably has a lot that's what i'm saying like this is again i i don't know if steve would have paid this but to me this is insane for the for not a super fractor it's a foil fractor i mean she has several cards most of the wrestlers have several cards in this this is whoever bought this already set a market for this and it's i i think this is worth half maybe a thousand so to me it's crazy to see this knowing how many cards are on the base set but again i feel bad for for steve not getting it so yeah i mean like i i'm guessing some one of the ebay snipers got it it is what it is but like this is like this is the biggest sale from universe so far i think there will be bigger ones jameson got the roman reigns one zero one auto relic he said he got it off of facebook marketplace of all places wow so that card is awesome too i'm sure he paid considerably more than fifteen hundred dollars maybe he didn't but it's worth more than fifteen hundred dollars so anyways this is this is probably one of the bigger sales can't wait to see more shape up we will talk about those as they come
